Both are old school Japanese dramas that tell the story of a learning disabled man who faces discrimination.

Both dramas focus on the difficulties an intellectually disabled young man must face when abandoned by his family. Algernon Ni Hanataba O focuses more on romance and teaching life lessons to its characters, while Seija No Koushin is much more gritty in its portrayal of society's discrimination against disabled people.

Personally one of my all time favorites. Its not dark has good morales. And a bonus of really good poems.

For life-romance-melodrama lovers.
A pitiful man, wounded by life.
FL in a similar situation where she has a bright future in front of her but she is in love with a man that is retarded in the eyes of society, and he loves her earnestly.
Well-written, well-directed, good music, good side characters...
and GREAT acting.

The story between the main leads is similar is so many ways that I can't write it here without spoiling. If you were moved by the main couple in one, you will like the main couple in the other too. The side characters and their relationships between each other and main leads are mostly different.

Although there are many differences between the two movies, the storylines are quite similar. Love spanning long term separation and what happens when the characters reunite....

Both dramas feature an android who is assigned to a single nerdy guy. In both dramas the girl is attracted to the android and not to the nerd who is in love with her. Both androids take care of their assigned human and look for ways to help them succeed in life.

I dont wanna spoil but both dramas are good. Just Massaya makes me cry, and Sapai Jao makes me laugh out loud.

Both have 2 personalties. With the other personality a sweet, kind, gentle person and the original personality a cold, ruthless person. But on SHNPT there is reincarnation, supernatural elements added.
Both have a previous connection with the FL with the other (sweet) personality. They both also have the second personality getting closer to the female lead and them bonding while the original personality does not like the FL at first. There's also cohabitation between the ML and FL due to FL safety.
All in all, I feel, that HKM is a much simpler remake of SHNPT with some plot changes according to their culture and audience preference.

More of an Adult romance with Cold CEOs and strong women. Both CEOs deal with a fear from childhood and eventually work really hard to get the main FL. When I finished this series Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim came to mind....if you liked Lost Romance their is a good chance you'd like Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim as well.

Both have super power themes in high school, but Mob Psycho has the leads as students. Both of these have odd, offbeat visual styles and involve characters that can see hidden things, plus weird humor.
