P&C feels like a remake of full house but without the love square. So many similarities. The fraud, cohabitation, contract marriage and other nuances twisted but present nonetheless.
both have ML with an ancient family history with powers. the vibe of the show is very similar, Tanabata is more story like while Gifted is more about detective work. but very similar
Both FLs travel from the real world to a different one (the past vs. a book). The ML is magically able to read her mind.
It has the exact same feeling as this drama: a forbidden relationship with the whole world against them, continual pain for the leads but they keep wanting to be together above all, several timespans (starting during high school days, then adulthood). The cinematography is also beautiful in the same style that makes old-school J-dramas so great (alternance of saturated and dull colors, etc.), and the OST is of the same quality level as Chugakusei Nikki. This drama will leave you totally empty and destroyed too at the end.
If you are a fan of this cdrama, The Day Of Becoming You, a sweet romantic treat with lots of comedy and chemistry, then you would enjoy kdrama, Branding in Seongsu starring Kim Ji Eun and Lomon.
Not entirely the same, however the aspect of incorporating learning Chinese or Mandarin is a highlight in both of the dramas. While learning Chinese in these dramas are for vastly different reasons, they are both a good watch.
I Told the Sunset about You is more cinematographic which pulls it together more since it feels like a more serious drama.
Love in Translation is truthfully a feel good drama, with some serious topics and scenes thrown in.
Both are great though!

Both couples are polar opposites - FL is strong and wild, ML gentle and a bit weak - and engaged by their parents to marry. Both FLs try everything to get out of the engagement, but the two slowly fall in love.

- FL goes from being the cold and aloof character to being sweet and caring
- ML approaches FL in order to steal something from her
- ML is from a rival kingdom (TRoTaR)/sect (in PLinW)

- Both have comedy (TRoTaR is more comedy focused)
- The story taking places within a story actually plays an important part in the plot.
