?Its a historical romcom kdrama
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is a light, feel-good historical romance drama that blends food, palace politics, and slow-burn romance in a very engaging way. If you enjoy stories where cooking plays a central role, this one is especially satisfying.

?Plot Overview:
The story revolves around a modern woman who transmigrates into a historical setting and uses her culinary skills to survive—and eventually thrive—in a royal palace. What starts as a survival tactic turns into a unique way to influence powerful figures, especially the emperor.

??What Works Well:
1. Unique Concept (Food + Romance)-
Unlike typical palace romances, food isn’t just background—it drives the story. Each dish has meaning, whether it’s comforting someone, gaining trust, or shifting political dynamics.
2. Strong Female Lead-
The protagonist is practical, intelligent, and not overly dramatic. She relies on her skills rather than luck, which makes her growth satisfying to watch.
3. Emperor Characterization-
The male lead (emperor) starts off cold and distant but gradually softens. Their relationship develops naturally, with food acting as a bridge between them.
4. Visual Appeal-
The artwork is clean and aesthetically pleasing—especially the food illustrations, which are detailed enough to make you hungry ?

? Final Verdict:
If you liked dramas like cooking + romance + comedy + royalty, this is a cozy and enjoyable. It’s perfect when you want something relaxing, wholesome, and visually pleasing rather than intense.

Both have to do with a comic world and the characters trying to fight against what's been written for them.

Fighting against fate and what their character is supposed to do and be. Its a much better show overall.

BOTH ARE:
Hyper-Realistic slice of life, dealing with inner demons/psychology of people in the movie/drama making industry.
Relatable dialogues for any human.

Ensemble cast.

Both dramas are slow burn friends to lovers with a ton of emotional intimacy between the leads even before the lovers phase. They have a similar introspective, slice-of-life vibe, and the leads in both dramas have known each other since high school, and now frequently hang out between working successful jobs. The MLs and FLs even have similar personalities, with the MLs being gentle, considerate, and responsible and the FLs being extroverted, ambitious, and cautious of marriage. They also have ex-boyfriends who have hurt them. I think the FL in "You Are My Lover Friend" is a bit less intense, and comes off more likable even though I enjoy them both.

If you loved "In Time with You" like me, you're definitely going to love "You Are My Lover Friend". The latter almost feels inspired by the former.

Both dramas show the romance of powerful main leads who are well versed in military strategies and martial arts. Both involve hiding of identities in the process.
