There are some magic, some psychology, some mystery and some romance. Both are cute and got your attention the whole time

Both early 2000s Japanese movies with creepy ghost themes with similar settings of people being haunted by ghosts.

Similarities between SSL and WL:
- FL is a student who is doing poorly at school and doesn't want to sit her exams.
- She time travels to the past (SSL)/ enters a historical story (WF) where she meets the ML who is the emperor.
- In both dramas, the FL and ML have a very similar relationship where the leads first hate each other and later befriend each other.
- The main leads hit it off almost immediately despite their power imbalance and the FL treats the ML, the emporor like she would a friend.
- The FL also meets her modern world best friend counterpart in the historical world and befriends her
- In both dramas the FL's life is on the line and she has to use her school knowledge of history to solve the problems faced in the emperors empire to survive.
- Both dramas have a lot of hints of romance that doesn't actually start, the leads are only really good friends that clearly develop feelings for each other.
- In both dramas the FL travels back to the modern world and meets a man with the same face as the ML in the historical/story world.
- The leads have crazy chemistry in both dramas.

Differences (what WL did better)
- What I loved about WL was that the FL already knew the modern day ML before travelling to the past and they were already good friends/frienamies even in the modern world.
- It is clear from the modern world scenes in WL that the ML always liked the FL.

Both include leads who are facing hardships and psychological issues.
It happens in college frame with rich and popular male leads.
Male leads have family problems, they pretend to be okay but are traumatized from a long time.
Male leads have a main problems with their brothers who are jealous of them and family focusing for brothers more than the male leads.
Female leads were bullied in college but is more intense in mars.
Mars is more deeply sad than at a distance, spring is green which is simple to watch.

This drama could be considered an introduction to King Yeongjo of Joseon, grandfather of Yi San. This prelude can explain many of the turbulences that are depicted in The Red Sleeve, King Sukjong effected many changes that impacted Yi San's rule

Both features a forbidden relationship between the suspect and the police officer, and have some painful mystery to uncover. But Tengoku to Jigoku has some supernatural themes, while Saiai doesn’t. Tengoku to Jigoku is also more comedic than Saiai.

Both drama focus on editors and what their job entails. The romance in both drama isn't the main story, it is a part of it.

Both stories are set at a movie theater and have cinema as a main theme.
Also, they both happen in the past.

both shows have characters that even though they are in a life and death situation, they think about money or power and such things

Higuma(Brown Bear) and Nekomura (cat) are both animals immersed in human’s world. Higuma works as fish vendor and Nekomura works as a housekeeper, and watching them makes me say, “they are so pure! This world doesn’t even deserve them!”. Both are very short slice-of-life dramas and each episode would surely heal our heart ??

both drama have a sweet and a bit angsty romance. Fighting for their love while growing together. Hard work and societal injustice are also very present themes in both drama.

In both drama healing and finding someone to be yourself and improve as a person through that relationship is important. Work environment/office romance is also there in both. There are also many similarities between the main characters and of course the side romance.
