Both dramas have quite a dark feeling to them compared to other dramas, and have two main characters going down a dark path with people chasing after them. If you liked one, you'll like the other.

Happiness is still a new series, but still it gives the same vibe as Sweet Home.
In both of them there is a disease that infects people.
In both when you get the disease you become a "monster"

Both are a return after 10 years of the Super Hero Time shows of 2011 made by Toei.

Both will have new forms that are exclusive to these movies.

Nature is wild, man is wilder.

Both series involve rangers/police officers fighting off dangerous people in remote parts of natural parks / the border.

The stories are gritty, there are a lot of subtle details that you have to pay attention to, the cinematography is superb, the cast and crew definitely know what they're doing.

Both of these BL stories involve childhood 'friends' who always try to one-up each other in everything they do, since they were young. However, their relationships further develop into something more because of a "I must protect you" dynamic.

Both dramas are about people infected by an illness that is compared to rabies. In Search, the main characters are in the military, while in Happiness the male lead is a police officer and the female lead is a member of a special operations unit. In both dramas, in between the more intense thriller-like moments there are some lighthearted scenes as well.

They both have this really eerie and bleak atmosphere. There are also many similar themes such as hypnotism and characters.

If you liked the Peking Opera in Farewell My Concubine, there is a minor story arch in Story of Yanxi Palace that covers it. They mention a few of the opera pieces by name (including Farewell My Concubine), play out some of the scenes, and even explain a few of the stories briefly. Peking Opera is later banned from the palace though, so it only shows up in the first 1/3 of the show.

They have the same screenwriter and the same level of spontaneity and wild premise xD Eroi Kareshi reminded me Love Shuffle which is one of my first dramas and also one of my favorites because they have somehow similar plot.
