This drama also includes the famous historical figures such as Oda Nobunaga and Ieyasu Tokugawa. But rather than being in the center of turmoil, Onna Joshu Naotora shows how the minor clans struggle between the clashes of the more powerful clans of the Sengoku period.

They have the romantic old/classic drama vibe.

Han Ji Hye stars in both, but she’s the main FL in Cloud Stairs.

They both have pure romance... Not romance based on bluntly expressed lust and physical attraction like most dramas.

Of course some beautiful melodrama too. Beautiful sincere feelings..

And there is a slight similarity in the stories.

As seen from the brand new teaser, some scenes from "Girl from Nowhere: Season 2" will be inspired by "999-9999" which is a Thai horror/slasher movie from 2002.

- The have similar themes: but 'Why R U?' is a Thai BL, where one of the main charaster's sister is a sci-fi writer. His sister starts writing sci-fi stories about his brother and his friends, and.. you'll see it later what happening ;)
Meanwhile 'W' is a Korean series where one of the main character live in the sci-fi story.
- Both have romance: 'Why R U?' is a boy love series, 'W' is a male-female love story.
- Funny scenes: 'Why R U?' and 'W'has also some really funny scenes too. It's really like a romantic comedy. haha.
I recommend 'Why R U?' if you liked 'W' and if you like BL genres too~ ^^

Similiar theme about ghost, FL and ML need each other. It has been long time I found drama like Master Sun that has interesting plot even tho still airing.

This is about dating also where celebrity dads will watch their daughters date behind the camera. It's funny how most of these dads would react because they know so little about their daughters' love life.

Both have strong and smart female leads who are fighting against the social norm for women. They are both young as well, both female leads grow before your eyes as their stories unravel. They also mask their genders, Chang Ge more-so than Jin Xia. The romance for both is slow-burn and based on mutual respect and all couplings go through a good deal of hardships together. You also get to watch as the casts both mature over time, character growth is prominent in both dramas.

Also, since the recommender is an Art Historian, the costuming is absolutely breath-taking in both dramas. You will not see the cast wear the same 2 pieces of clothing all throughout the drama. (Embroidered Guards in Under the Power wear an AMAZING set of uniforms! The embroidery is absolutely gorgeous.)

I found the tough but wounded male leads to be similar characters. The dramas have similar tragic vibes, more on the drama side... a bit heavy in tone. Both have sweet, understated romance. Both take their time with the pacing but never feel boring.

Centered around Male Leads that just awesome, smart, and can kick some ass, and are neither good nor bad. Cruel city is more on the gangster noir side though.
