They don't have too much in common story-wise, but they give off similar vibes. The characters seem unique and refreshing in both.

Two leads, one care-free and the other stoic, are at odds with one another until they get to know one another. Main character is seen as a villain, even though everyone who actually meets him respect and trust him. Second male lead tries to live up to his clan's wishes, but bends or breaks the rules to protect his friend at all costs. Male lead has to use unorthodox tricks to win as there are more powerful swordsmen that are out of his league (including the 2nd male lead). Both have fantastic action sequences, and can tug at the heartstrings. While there are differences when it comes to the storybeats and plot, they feel cut from the same cloth. If you like one, you more than likely would like the other.

It’s not the same type of drama. However, the storylines of main couples of both dramas are somewhat similar. They both deal with a marriage that has grown bitter in which the men seemed to love the women more and grew exhausted from it and eventually ended up having an affair. The men then regretting the affair and trying everything to get their ex wives back.

The lead couples fall in love while trying to catch the leader of a crime ring through detective work and espionage. Both of the women are strong will when it comes to their beliefs and convictions and they both have a chips on their shoulder. Both men are older affluent and have a variety of women chasing after them but come up with a scheme to keep their true love beside them.

The male lead is the the same in both dramas and they are both quite innocent, cute, fluffy dramas! The male lead is kind-natured,cute in both series too

Both tells a tale about everyday life and the leads have depth and doing reflection all the time. Both are healing dramas.

They are the same in the sense of vibe, and both are a story of professional worker. While Black Dog has this warm, healing feeling, Diary of Prosecutor is more quirky and portray thestruggles of adult worker life in Korea.
They air at the same period too, so I watched them hand in hand and I really liked both.

So both shows seem to be completely different from each other but at the same time they both convey similar feeling when you watch them. They both have a serious plot line but at the same time have those little comical moments where you can't help but laugh. both women say "I love you" first but the man fell in love first. Both have great Bromance between the ML and guy friend/s.

both Keys to the Heart and Cheer Up, Mr. Lee are similar with the same kind of family bonding/touching story

Even though the tone is very different the themes of both shows are similar plus the cat and mouse game with a serial killer very close to the male lead is the same.
