Both dramas give off similar wistful feeling, with the main leads meeting again after a long time. The leads are tied together due to tragedies taking place in their childhood as well as present.

Trying to capitalize on the success of a series, these two take a casts from those series, recast then in different roles and created new storylines for them. In both cases unsuccessfully. “Siam 13 hours” was meant to be long advertisement for a mobile phone company so you can use that as an excuse whereas 2Wish was a bit pointless.

Both are male centric stories about hot scam artists. Seo In Guk plays the con artist and Mah Dong Suk is the guy who gets screwed over and involved in doing scams himself, and in SCAMS Sugino Yosuke joins Otani Ryohei who works for a yakuza (both HOT beautiful men), and Scams is a little more mature with more adult and darker content. Squad is a bit more positive and preachy at times but Scams is more realistic and mature.

In both Taiwanese dramas, the FL serves as a bodyguard. Each is a motherless children who has been heavily influenced by her fathers whose occupation is in a male-dominated world. Both FLs have supporting male friends who follow their fathers' orders and help them run interference as needed.

Differences
(1) FL context: TP involves a triad (I know obvious given the title) while SSB uses a security company lead by a former military man.
(2) FL role in love triangle: SSB has a clear 'nemesis' vying for the ML affection (2 females and 1 male) while TP has 2 men competing for her (2 males and 1 female)
(3) ML context: ML for TP is in show business while SSB ML is an automobile dealership CEO
(4) type of romantic story: SSB is more melodrama with lots of character development while TP is glitzy idol fare
(5) series length: TP = 6 30-40 minute episodes, SSB = 82 45-minute episodes

Ashes of Love is an epic angsty romance. Romance of Hua Rong is a comedy romance. They have different settings, but both have a fantasy martial arts / magic world.

I recommend them because they have very similar relationship vibe. They have strong male leads and impulsive female leads. The male leads decide early on that they will only and ever love the female leads, while the female leads can't seem to figure out how they feel. In AoL, it's because of the unfeeling pill, while in HR, she's just dense. Both shows have FL who betray/hurt the ML deeply, but the ML don't waver in their affections even so.
