It has the same male lead. This show is what made me like this actor. Instead of flowers this is about embroidery. This show is like a rollercoaster just like Sweet Dreams, so many twist and turns. So the male lead from sweet dreams character in this show is good, and I like how he fights for his girlfriend. It's really good. The only thing you might not like is that the female lead starts getting a backbone near the end.

If you like the part with dreams, I think you'll like this. This doesn't have dreams, but it's like they stopped reality for a minute and gives you funny scenes.

It starts off with high school classmates Chen Xiaoxi and Jiang Chen who are also neighbors since kindergarten. Chen Xiaoxi, a cheerful girl who doesn't study much, is expressive about her admiration towards Jiang Chen, the popular guy known for his looks and high grades. Jiang Chen is also a guy who is very distant and indifferent towards people because of his father’s early death. Together, Jiang Chen and Chen Xiaoxi prepare for their Gao Kao, a university Entry Examination during their senior years in secondary school. Together with their classmates—the funny yet dirty-minded Lu Yang, athletic but blunt Lin Jingxiao, and cool national swimmer Wu Bo Song, they embark on high school life to university until their adult life.

Both dramas adress the hardships and struggles faced by women in the jurchen/manchu culture. Rule The World is a time travel drama that covers the process of the foundation of the Qing Dynasty and Ruyi is a harem drama set in the reign of Qianlong, the sixth emperor of Qing.

Scarlet Heart is a time travel drama set in the reign of Kang Xi and we see Yongzheng rise to the throne. Ruyi is a harem drama set in the reign of Qianlong, son of emperor Yongzheng.

Both are harem dramas. Empress Of China is set in the Tang Dynasty, in the reign of Tai Zong Li Shi Min. Ruyi's Royal Love In The Palace is set in Qing Dynasty and the emperor is Qianlong, the sixth emperor of Qing, son of emperor Yongzheng. Main female leads must survive the cruel harem life.

Fun fact: in both dramas the main character's name is Ruyi.

They both share similar plot lines. However, In six flying dragons there’s more scheming for the throne and it’s before joseon was established. I think of secret door as a continuation as it is 21kings in, so it’s more about how they can continue to help the commonners and the lower-class of society whilst dealing with opposition from the nobility. They are both great political dramas for me anyways.

The same taut atmosphere that delves in the psyche of students. no wasted scene or dialogue, flowing from one scene to the next seamlessly in an unexpected turn of events. both are amazing and one of a kind but at the core with the same ideology

Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace is the sequel to Zhen Huan. But both are harem dramas and they can be watched without having to watch the other.
Zhen Huan covers the harem of emperor Yongzheng and in Ruyi, Yongzheng's son, Qianlong, rises to the throne and the story focuses on Ruyi, a consort of his harem.

Both dramas have a similar humor regardless of the fantastic/horror overall theme. In both drama you find yourself trembling in fear one second then the next moment you're laughing out loud.
