wow wow wow, beautiful, beautiful, beautifulwhen I heard that they'd be getting their own spinoff after unintentional love story, I knew that they would do their story justice, AND NOW THAT IT'S HERE, NOW THAT I'VE WATCHED IT, it was all so beautifully done and I want to go back and rewatch the original series just for them . . .
peak cinematography, peak romance, (peak cameo!!), peak love, peak setting, PEAK EVERYTHING, SERIOUSLY, I'm so incredibly happy right now . . . and also sad because the yearning and pining was so well done . . .

Beautiful, fairytale - But strange.
This quirky Thai film has already won acclaim and won the Palme d'Or at Cannes. The question is whether the shelves possibly focused on the film's stylistic appearance and perhaps did not really understand its rather hard-to-digest message. Because although the film is atmospheric, beautiful and contains a lot of interesting philosophy, it also becomes long-winded, pretentious and after a while boring.Uncle Boonmee is dying of a serious kidney disease and is spending his last time with loved ones. At a quiet dinner with i.a. his disabled sister-in-law, both his deceased wife, in the form of a ghost, and his long-lost son, now a hairy monkey monster who lives in the forest, appear. They begin a trek through the jungle and Boonmee gets time to think about his current - And past - Life.
Of course, it sounds a little more than crazy, but the fact is that you swallow most of these unexpectedly dizzying whims and supernatural elements with hairs and holes as the film lurches along at such a pleasant, fine-tuned pace that you are drawn into the story and its fairy-tale atmosphere - At least for a while. Because after director Apichatpong Weerasethakul builds an imagination-tickling opening whose feel can be compared to a softer David Lynch reel with a more warm than unpleasant mood, the film loses energy the longer it goes on.
We get a taste of small, exciting stories and life destinies which, however, have abrupt ends or lack resolutions altogether. One longs in frustration for some kind of score or final clip that can provide an explanation for the film's surreal and, above all, strange scenes. Because it's a weird movie. It becomes clear that it is a foreign culture we are dealing with and even if a lot of philosophy and slightly humorous lines go home, there is a lot that goes completely over our heads. You want to understand but grope in the dark.
Oral sex with catfish, showering monks, mysterious caves and those Bigfoot-like monkeys with red, glowing eyes... These are awesome and beautiful scenes, but when they go on for ages without leading anywhere, you start sneaking a look at the clock. While I still appreciate films that take their time, I also appreciate that extended scenes have some kind of feeling to convey. Of course, it is certainly possible to analyze until the cultural skull cracks, but then you should probably be a little familiar with Thai culture. For the rest of us, it will be a beautiful, odd but rather boring film.
However, the craftsmanship is very impressive. Weerasethakul has a fantastic fingertip feel when it comes to the fairy-tale scenery and situations - One can sense a jealousy of Tim Burton who named the film one of the best of the year.

They can be the funniest duo. The fl can piss you off but that's who she is in the story. It has the funniest ending too looking at how their marriage life would be. That exaggerated ending, how far was their car to the park where they were?
It's the common genre where when you fall in love, your standards become unimportant. The main lead's romance and the English teacher's are proof
It didn't touch much on learning English but it reflected some of the difficulties adults have, including today in adjusting with the changing world, Eng for better communication not only in the the workplace but also for general communication when needed. In this age, many people are learning English and more young people are getting better at it. Also,it's important to learn the basics and learn more if you want but you must not forget your birth language because that's also forgetting who you are.
My overall opinion is that the fl and ml's goals are not actually learning English but finding true love.
The main and supporting actors are all good, Jang Hyuk is a really good actor and Lee Na Young also a good actress making me hate and like her character

1ALL THE FEELS
I was not ready for this. The angst, the romance and the chemistry! I was not remotely prepared for how emotionally taxing this would turn out to be, especially considering the fact that this is a prequel.It reminded me of small, indie productions. Ones that are set around a particular location that holds significance to the leads, with rich emotional backgrounds that may not be fully explored to facilitate smooth storytelling, but you can still situate it to the leads and their actions. The music they used, the cinematography and the bright yet blurred colours, it was beautiful. And above all, the tension. I've noticed it many times, but the way it's filmed just increases the already solid romantic tension between the leads two-fold.
The use of random and ambiguous dialogues at certain points really accentuated just how much of their relationship was the same way, there was a lot of certainty, but it was encompassed in chaos and heartbreak.
The ending made me want to revisit Unintentional Love Story so bad, it's the perfect set up to watch it again, now knowing the backstory between Ho Tae and Dong Hee, watching how it changed and how it will change again. Plus, Gong Chan's cameo, I mean, it was incredible and just made me want to revisit it that much more.
This genuinely served, those yearning gazes, genuine chemistry, paired with an emotional story and a romantic lens made for such a touching story.

A Search for Truth
The truth is increasingly difficult to find. Mainstream media choose which side of the story to tell, and individual influencers direct and stage their own truth. Most of the things we hear on the internet are actually fake news. Where does that lead? This film provides a dramatic example of the search for truth. The film contains very valuable messages about the influence of popular streaming stars.There are some moments in the film that seemed illogical to me, but I have to admit that from the first minute to the last I was closely following the action. How the saying goes: It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.. The film successfully maintains tension from beginning to end so that no part of the film is just a time filler but has a real effect on the development of the story. And that's why I can only give it 10 out of 10. The main actress Park Ju-hyun did a great job in her role and in the most dramatic moments she looked very cool.
I hear voices that a film like this can be an inspiration to real people to take revenge on streamers in a similar way, but I believe that the story of the film is so unusual that it will be difficult for anyone to imitate it, and from the positive side, the film is a lesson and a warning to be truthful and authentic in real life.

unspoken longing
the story flowed like water smooth and soft yet there is no conclusion its the mix of satisfying and wanting more. " unintentional love story "still is my all time fav. for it has a story beginning and end. although this drama comes from the same makers they opted to displayed it like a poem with the lights , visuals, and emotions (the ups and downs of sadness and happiness) .. i think it meant to be seen by the heart not the eyes and i totally agree with and enjoyed the most.. the actors were superb and in some scenes I could see and feel the passion and understand the "fever" in the title.Was this review helpful to you?

Holy cow what was that?!
I went from this looks ok to nope i dont like it to oh maybe I'll continue watching to this is weird to I hate this filming to I love this filming. I dont think I've ever been so all over the place watching a show! I still am not sure. I will have to watch it again just to wrap my head around it all!One thing i know for sure is it is A LOT of violence, blood, some gore. I actually turned my head a couple of times. I wasn't prepared for all of it.
There was some really intriguing filming. Especially the parts where it felt more like a video game. I loved that! The CGI at times was questionable and obvious but if you can just watch a show to watch it for the ride it isn't too bad. The english speaking actors were not the best but i feel that way most of the time there are english speaking actors in a foreign film. It always seems out of place to me most of the time.
If you are the type of person who picks movies apart and are critical you definately need to skip this one. But if you can just enjoy the ride you might enjoy it. Like i said earlier i will be rewatching just to enjoy the diferent filming styles along the way!

This was a beautiful watch…..with a lot of angst.
I vaguely remembered what happened in ‘Unintentional Love’ but I do remember loving these two cause their chemistry was unmatched….I enjoyed this sequel as I do love a good angsty show, and this was done right - but, the ending definitely left me a bit unsatisfied.
I was expecting a time jump…or more scenes post ‘Unintentional Love’. A shame really.
It was also nice to see Gong Chan’s little cameo. It was to be expected, but it would have been even nicer to see him with Cha Seo Won.

amazing chemistry, story n cinematography (yearning)
ngl this series made me kicking my feet n feel butterflies in my stomach. its been a long time since i watch bl that made me feel this way. i love donghee’s character omg the yearning… i cried. n hotae too my fluffball, hes just so straightforward and love his hyung so much. the confusion, the doubts, the yearning, the trembling lips while kissing goddamnit it was insane. i just hope they can be in another series or just continue with season 2 or smtg. cant get enough of them honestly, PLEASE WATCH THIS GUYSS PLSWas this review helpful to you?
We need a season 2
Great story, production and cinematography in general. The actors did a great job at depicting the characters well. I will also opt to buy the comic as well due to their great performance.We need a season 2 to follow with their story during and most importantly after ULS. They have great potential to show all the intricacies of establishing a gay relationship in a small town while battling with your own internal issues. To me the transition from TTOF to ULS makes perfect sense for DongHee's character because not being accepted by your family at that age messes you up in many different ways inside that some choices might not make sense to others but it will make sense to the abused queer person. That said, a second season could flesh out the story a bit better to depict the whole change of emotions the characters go through the years.

This is a legitimately tragic film.
I don't think I've ever seen the dangers of the red light district and sex work portrayed in such a vivid way before. In this film, the depressing events that unfold are portrayed bluntly and directly not to justify them, but to draw attention to the fact that for the people in situations like Young-eun's, the suffering becomes regular. Everyday. Mundane, even, so much so that you have no choice but to get used to it. Because you will never be able to escape it, anyway.I see some people say that the pacing feels stilted but honestly I enjoyed it. I didn't have to try to get absorbed in the film (I just wish I'd found a version with better subtitles), and I actually think that the jumps in time help underscore the eventually mundane nature of Young-eun's difficult life.
The acting is solid and the soundtrack, though not necessarily "memorable," is actually very good. Cinematography is normal but it does some interesting things at certain points; as a whole though I wouldn't say I was super concerned about it. I prefer to think of this film in a "bigger picture" sort of way.
I was stunned when I first saw how the red light district was portrayed. I somehow never imagined that a red light district could look like it did in the film: lines and lines of brothels all crowded together with women spilling out from doorways, trying desperately to entice men inside. So many women, and all painted and dolled up and scared. So many that cars can barely pass through. It hurt to watch.
Some other tragic elements of the film: Young-eun's song. Eun-yeong's friend and the reality of HIV and AIDS. Women being blamed for penniless customers. The fact that so many workers become accustomed to the harassment. Gil-young and Young-eun missing each other by a hair every time. Young-eun, a ghost of the present moment and her obfuscated past. The woman desperate for work and tearing at her clothes in the streets. Eun-yeong becoming like the people who were the bane of her existence, only to be torn down again. The fact that there seems to be no love for a sex worker.

The film approaches its message from various angles throughout. Dark humor, direct and melancholic emotional appeal, uncomfortably long sex scenes, and more shocking moments all serve to emphasize the bleakness of the existence Young-eun has been condemned to until her death. At first she is desirable; then, with age, she loses her appeal in the eyes of her potential customers and has to come to terms with the fact that even here, when she is at her lowest, she has an expiration date.
I don't know if I'm doing it well but I really want to emphasize how truly bleak and tragic this film is. It breaks my heart and I expect I will be thinking about it for a long time to come.

Good vibes
This film has the vibes and cinematography down, and as a love triangle enjoyer I even loved that aspect of it and the drama it wrought. But I do think the plot itself sort of got thin by the end; the climax plot was random, and the ending underwhelming. fast paced but meaningful
did great on the cool fighting choreos and the korean style of emotional punch delivered by a very likeable character. gentle giant kim woobin was soooo satisfying to watch. it's fast paced and is not a film that aims for a specific depth, so it didn't require a lot of thinking.would really love this as a mini series (8 episodes)
