Time for a BoY rewatch me-thinks

A bit confused by the ending, but I'm trying to piece together what I can remember from the Blood of Youth. There's obviously a gap of time between the two, so maybe that's where the confusion lies lol, I imagine the books would shed some light on the loose ends. Still, this calls for a Blood of Youth rewatch and of course Dashing Youth is still on the docket.
Fight scenes -> epic🗡
Wardrobe->on pointđŸ”„
Scheming -> is there an uno reverse card here somewhere? XD🔄
ThE PoWer oF FRiEnDShiP đŸ„°đŸ˜‚đŸ‘Œ, but like..for assassins.
It's like watching a live action anime(or whatever the Chinese version is called), but far more entertaining ;P
Side note: I was a bit skeptical about Gong Jun portraying my beloved Umbrella Ghost, and I can't speak for anyone else, but I genuinely enjoyed his performance! ^-^
Chang He-> Chang Huasen really embodies this character--would not be the same without him 😍😍😍👏👏👏😊😊😊 show stealer

Phoenix vs God

At first I like how the story was going. It turns out wei zhi is not just simple. I also like her character here. But as the story unfold I get bored and disappointed at same time especially with the ending. I expected a different vibes of how the story unfold but it goes awry as it didn't favor the FL character. And about the ending? That is what I don't like the most. I'm asking for a different ending from it was supposed to be. But still it's good that it's not a tragic one.

Smart, chaotic, and surprisingly addictive

I went into How Dare You?! expecting something light and a bit chaotic — and it definitely delivers on that, but it’s also more clever and engaging than I expected.

The story follows a familiar transmigration setup, but it plays with the trope in a self-aware and refreshing way. The dynamic between the leads is a highlight, especially as they work with (and against) the “script,” which makes the political intrigue feel more strategic and often unintentionally funny (modern logic in a historical setting should not work this well, but here we are 😏).

The pacing is solid — things move, and it never feels like you’re waiting for something to happen. At the same time, it keeps a good balance between comedy, romance, and plot without taking itself too seriously.

The acting is strong across the board. The female lead brings a natural, slightly sarcastic charm, while the male lead adds more depth than the typical trope. Their chemistry really carries both the lighter and more emotional moments.

It’s not as deep or heavy as more serious dramas, but it doesn’t try to be. It knows exactly what it is — fun, clever, and easy to watch — and executes that really well.

Overall, a refreshing and entertaining take on a familiar genre.

My confort GL series

I made a mistake before I started watching this series. I remember I chose to read the US novel, and it's trash (in my opinion...). When I finished reading it, in the following weekend the series started airing, and the fact that they changed 90% of the story was perfect!
I loved the adaptation so much—the characters, the music, the scenes, the chemistry—everything in the series was perfect for me!
Sometimes I find myself going back and watching it again, or just watching the parts I liked the most, like episode 3, after P'Oat leaves Dorak at home with Pam and Pam takes care of Dorak, the exchange of glances with the background song... I love it! Her discovering about the drawings... And at the end of the episode, the kiss...
From episode one to the last episode, I loved it so much, and I rewatch it whenever I can. I highly recommend it.

A rare slow-burn that actually delivers — 10/10

I went into Pursuit of Jade expecting a slower, more political drama, but what I didn’t expect was how completely it would pull me in. And somehow — despite being a true slow burn — I didn’t get bored once.

This is not a drama that rushes anything. It builds carefully: tension, relationships, motivations. Yes, there are a lot of “meaningful glances” early on (honestly, enough to power a small city), and I did have a few moments of “just talk to each other, please,” but the key difference here is that it all serves a purpose. Nothing feels like filler, and when the story starts to unfold properly, every reveal feels earned.

The character writing is where this drama really shines. The leads are layered and believable, but what impressed me most is that even the side characters feel fully realised. There are no one-dimensional roles — everyone has clear motivations, and even when characters make frustrating choices, you understand why. That level of depth made the entire world feel immersive and real.

The acting across the board is fantastic. Not just the leads — the entire cast delivers. A lot of the early emotional weight relies on subtle expressions and restraint rather than big dramatic moments, and every actor plays that perfectly. When the story reaches its turning points, that quiet build-up makes the emotional impact hit so much harder.

From the mid-to-late episodes, the pacing shifts, and this is where everything comes together. The reveals, the conflicts, the consequences — it all escalates in a way that feels intense but never chaotic. It’s the kind of storytelling that rewards patience, and it absolutely pays off.

I also really appreciated how consistent the writing was throughout. Even the side plots were well integrated and never felt like distractions. Everything had a place, and the story stayed cohesive from beginning to end.

Overall, this is a drama that values thoughtful storytelling over instant gratification. It’s not flashy, it doesn’t rely on cheap drama, and it trusts the audience to stay with it — which makes the payoff even more satisfying.

A rare slow-burn that actually delivers, with strong writing, layered characters, and an outstanding cast performance across the board.

Filial. Agape. Eros.

There are many kinds of love in this world, and no two are ever the same.

The guy I wanted for UI Yeong in The Practical Guide for Love didn’t end up with her, but it didn’t feel like a loss at all. JiSu found the kind of love he truly deserved through her—whether in his career or his family. And Tae Seop ended up with a man who, from the very beginning, was certain he wanted a life with her.

I believe in dating with the intention of marriage, and I also see friendship as its own form of love. That’s why the setup of the main characters really appealed to me.

That said, the drama isn’t perfect. It has its flaws, just as it has its own kind of beauty.

The first few episodes felt more like introductions to the lead characters. It was a bit slow, though I managed to stay with it because I genuinely adore the three of them. I was close to dropping it, but the second half picked up the pace and kept me hooked. I especially loved how the main characters were interconnected with the supporting ones—it helped me grasp the message of the story more clearly. That’s how I came to understand what the drama was really about. And I loved it. Friendship, family, colleagues, and romance—all four kinds of love were explored in one story, each with heartwarming conclusions.

It may not be perfect, though, because one of my pet peeves showed up again. The side couple had a bit too much flirting for my taste, so I ended up fast-forwarding through some of their scenes. Still, it didn’t take away much, because the drama as a whole captured the different ways love can be expressed. I also fell in love with the polaroids shown during the credits.

Overall, I’m in love with this drama.

Vanilla fluff and realistic

Its a good fast watch , feels like ending can be more complete / issues be resolved clearly / futures of all of them show with happy ending

This drama is awesome sweet innocent fluff without cringe. Just happy feelings. And also relatable situation of how parents can be mentally or verbally or emotions abusive without knowing or intentions.

Its a drama with plot and enjoyable to see more. Really wish to see more double dates and how the parents make up.

The visuals are crazy matching
The chemistry is awesome without nc scene

Will love to rewatch it for light hearted vibes

My favourite part is they have no qualms apologising n making up with each other. No misunderstandings thats dragged over ep. Just realistic time and distance needed to sort things out.

Basically. Watch it ! You will wish for it to have more ep

They don't watch the remake.

A classic Japanese production from the 90s that received a very bad Korean remake. How could a director with such good previous works fail to remake this one? Very good acting, cinematography, chemistry between the characters, the killer's reveal, and a perfect ending – 10/10. It doesn't deserve the bad remake it has!

his is about obsession and Trauma depicted hauntingly beautiful yet disturbing

Let me start this by saying these actors NEED to get more recognition. Their performance and chemistry was DIVINE!

This story never aims to be a romantic journey of love and trust.

It starts with Fan Xiao, who sees the world as painful and cruel. Good does not excist in his view of the world. When You Shulang shows signs of Goodness Fan Xiao is sure that that cannot be real. And to an extend he is right. You Shulang might be composed and polite, but he too has a different view on the world.
Fan Xiaos hate/obsession/love towards You Shulang stems from a deep hate of the world and his own existence in it.

His fear of You Shulang leaving him ultimately causes Fan Xiao to torture him (more than he already has to that point) by taking away everything from You Shulang including his will to live. But surprisingly that is where Fan Xiao draws the line. Because if You Shulang had committed suicide, Fan Xiaos only reason to be on his earth would have been gone. And as Fan Xiao has so nicely put: Fan Xiao will surely go to hell, but You Shulang won’t be there.

To wrap this very confusing review up: This is a masterpiece in Storytelling and slowly escalating obsession stemming from Trauma. I might even go as far as to say that To my Shore is not a Romance BL but a Psychological Thriller told through the world of BL. And I think it was perfectly executed!

Much better than that bad remake.

The original version got everything right: the assassin is a bartender, the ending is melancholic and realistic as it should be, the acting is very good, not to mention the chemistry, and the title does justice to the story and the main character. Nobody deserves a remake that does everything wrong, and I still have to endure a predictable ending with a wedding and that expressionless face of Park Min-young on my TV!

Boring

So boring the actress when she said and her acting. Her voice is so annoyed!!!!! Her acting for this series makes me disappoint. No feeling. The story moves too slow. The plot is so boring. The ending of the drama was unimpressive. There is no drama content. The actress didn't fully the role. I just decided to watch this drama today even though I wanted to watch it at the first date on air. Bc I heard that it’s not fun.

Don't trust the low ratings – this drama is worth seeing

I don't understand these low ratings. There are a lot of really poor dramas, but this one doesn't belong in that category.

The plot is interesting. Since I was a child, I haven't watched any scary movies — horrors or thrillers. But "Love on the Turquoise Land" — I watched it over a few nights and I enjoyed it ;) The story is mysterious, complemented by a good soundtrack and sound effects. Di xiao (Earth Owls) were scary creatures, but I could stand watching them. There are also a lot of strange characters in this drama.

There's a romance, but it doesn't eclipse the main plot, although it is easy on the eye ;) Xingxu and Dilraba were foes, but after finding out that they have the same goal, they slowly started to build a real deal, working together and later... later everything boils over into stronger feelings. And you can see a well-shaped man's body, which is very satisfying :D

IMHO, this drama is really worth seeing.

Deep Love in the Soul(2025) is a very nice fantasy romance miniseries with ML: Yu Pei Shan (as Song Yi Chuan) and FL: Lu Lu Lu (as Xu Jia Nian) in the leading couple’s role. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had a great chemistry with some ardent and well done intimate moments. The romance is mature and the leading man is unshakeable in pursuing the female lead and in protecting and loving her. Overall, this drama is one where the leading couple became real soul mates and partners, enjoy it!
