SADISTIC ASSHOLE & DELULU MASOSCHIST.

Basic plot:🗯️🗯️
a guy comes out of jail and is about to restart his live. He's on a mission to take revenge against those who wronged hum. We immediately go back to the past and start to see how the events that brought him to jail unfold..

Let's talk about this drama shall we?
I fricking devoured the first 18 episodes.

Initial observations 🗯️🗯️
The start is really strong and intriguing but at episode 19 I had to stop because i was so mad. It took me an entire month to come back and finally finish this thing.

Reason? The 2 main leads were really pissing me off. At the start of the story we obviously meet our ml and fl and they are fine , but in the middle point they become such toxic people I had to pause and take a break.

Main characters 🗯️🗯️
Unfortunately this will be their role during the entire drama. These two are ,frankly speaking ,toxic to each other and other people.

Where they are together the world ceases to exist and they treat everyone like shit. Lao gan, their so called "best friend" is a perfect example.

I know that lu xun is Designed to be a cocky asshole with a "supposed" high moral compass but I couldn't stand him and the "princess" wasn't any better.

She only cares about how the ml feels or if he can help her out. She disregards everyone who ever says anything bad about him.
She is unable of criticisms when it comes to liu xu.

Lu xun knows he is better than anyone around him but keeps humiliating his peers for frankly no good reason.

Lao gao ark gets out of hand at the end but he was kind of justified in his hatred towards Lu xun.

When the main couple is split it doesn't get any better. They are assholes to everyone around them and when they are together they are absolutely toxic to each other.

In the later episodes Lu xun and Zhu Yun are obviously flirting with each other but lu xun, after making a fool of Zhu Yun, gives her the most humiliating speech ever. He says such heinous things about their past love story I personally would have slapped him and left forever.

I know that he supposedly pushing her again to "protect her" ( in a very twisted way) but nothing justifies the amount of mean stuff he says to her in this drama.

Zhun yu is saving his ass left and right and he mistreats her just to avoid giving her any "hope" Romance wise.

At the end of the drama I think he is a narcissist asshole and she is a delusional masochist.

In the 27th episode specifically he lashes on her because of his jeoulosy I was frankly disgusted by what he said.

Is it frustrating to witness all these interactions especially when it comes to Zhu Yu. This guy treats her like shit all the time and she is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone for him.

Later in the drama she is even sorry for "abandoning" Lu xun. What?? You didn't abandon him he literally cut you off of his life. Stop justifying this psycho.

She also has a guy running after her for years and she strings him along never actually putting a stop to his feelings towards her. He is the one to give up.

I think she was just addicted to being the "elected" person of a so called "genius".

Some ridiculous moments🗯️🗯️
Talking about genius, in the drama we see that Lu xun is trying to build his life again and fight against his ex corporation. It was hilarious to see a big tech company fricking out for a 4 member team of a small company. Are u serious? The script really want us to believe the Lu xun is an invincible force. C'mon guys at a certain point it becomes laughable.
A huge corporation with dozen of employees against a single programmer...

Positive:🗯️🗯️
I know I sound crazy but I liked the drama overall. How ? I don't know. It was engaging and the boring parts were mainly b roles which I skipped like crazy. You might hate the characters but still find the drama enjoyable.
The whole battling against one another was decent.

the chemistry between the actors is undeniable. they have a magnetic aura around them.

Music:🗯️🗯️
Pretty good. I even saved same songs.

Would I recommend it? Yes.
Would I re-watch it? Hell no.

The Ghost Queen And Her Fated General!!!

BASIC PLOT-
Love beyond grave follows the all too powerful and immortal Ghost Queen, He Si Mu, and Duan Xu, a young yet mysterious mortal general. What starts as a by chance encounter leads to such entwine fate and destiny that binds their paths together forever.
He Simu is born a spirit and thus lacks all her 5 senses since birth, she rules the spirit void as the Ghost Queen for the past 400 years.
Duan Xu is a young and reputed scholar turned general. He seems all too normal in the front but is hiding secrets far too complicated and dangerous. He may also not be who he claims he is.
Thier fated entwine when duan xu becomes He simu's bonded spell bearer (a person who can share their senses with other) .

CHARACTERS-
Both the characters are extremely intelligent and out of ordinary figures. They both have suffered in very different way but at the end of the day, they understand each other. Their understanding of each other without even saying anything, just through their actions is what makes them such complex yet amazing characters.
There’s a lingering sense of longing and understanding in almost every interaction they have together. Their smiles and eyes speak a thousand worlds without even trying.
At the end of the day they just want the other to be happy and safe. I loved how duan xu was so protective of he simu even if she is literally the immortal sovereign. And he simu totally gave off the vibes of 'touch-him-and-die' when it came to him.
And at the end of the day, even with a hundred problems, they both came back for each other. They never stopped loving and yearning.

ACTORS-
Dilraba and Arthur have portrayed the characters on point. Had seen so many people complaining about the acting and age gap between them but tbh it's perfect, the acting and age gap is on point with the situation and the overall plot of the drama.
The chemistry between the leads is a major highlight, their connection feels intense yet so natural.
The side characters do their work brilliantly. They leave their impact on the story hard and clear. Specially the bad guys, miles did such a good job with yanke, like I wanted to punch the shit out of him so many times but he made such a complex bad guy.
The side characters actually make you both love and hate their characters.

CINEMATOGRAPHY AND MUSIC-
The cinematography is breathtaking, each scene better that the last. Specially during the ghost relm arc. The whole fantasy element is justified and enhanced by the amazing colour grading and use of VFX.
The use of music and the main OST increases the impact of the scene making the drama a whole new experience.

PACING AND VIBES-
The pacing of the drama is excellent, it doesn't drag on things and with each episode ending on somewhat of a cliff hanger, it keeps you hooked to your screens. The whole ghostly aura and the themes of death in the drama gives it an out of ordinary vibes. This drama makes you fascinated with ghosts, spirits and death.

The drama balances an eerie, almost haunting tone with deeply emotional storytelling. The whole vibe of the drama carries a tone of melancholy, subtle longing and desire. It delivers the story with the perfect mix of love, hate, desire, longing, fantasy and suffering.

Overall, the drama is a must watch. It does what it promises to do really well and that too without trying too hard.

Dilraba the gorgeous Spirit Lord!

Watched all 5 episodes and kinda regretting it cause of the WAITING ugh!

Really liking this story, good so far. She is the Spirit Lord that has lost her five senses, and she nailed the detached portrayal of her character.

She isn't human, has never known warmth, cold, pain, nothing. And her character shows us all of it! That quiet longing, and curiosity on what it will feel like to be alive, what it would feel like to experience someone's touch.

I also liked her pretentious acting in front of Duan Xu because it shows she's trying to entertain both him and herself lol

Dunno why everybody is hating on her acting lmao 🤣 she is a spirit with no senses and has never had much human interaction.
She is supposed to be aloof and floating around mid-air laughing at mortal things. She is a diety and portrayed as such.
I'm enjoying it!

Let's see how her relationship with the fake kid brother and a possible lover goes!

I'm pretty sure Captain Han is the real Duan Xu or atleast someone who is knowledgeable about North Chong 🤔 but then the question remains....

Who is the guy wearing General Duan Xu face?? Is he a spirit trapped within? He's got his own curse maybe...something that He Simu has in common?

Hmm...questions and more questions! I'm intrigued 🤔

The cats are very fluffy, so there's that

Nobody held a gun to my head and told me to keep watching. But why did nobody force me to drop this show? Now I have to make peace with my masochism.

I'm not going to pretend that I was never touched by what was happening on the screen or that I hated absolutely everything. For example, the whole thing about Tiger and Lynx approaching each other the way a human would a cat is very cute in theory and sometimes even in execution. Khaotung has played characters with dead mothers beautifully before and does so believably once again. First gets to showcase the effortless charm that had already made Yok, Kant, and Sand so likeable, despite battling frankly ass writing this time around.

Speaking of which, wow. Allow me to use just one scene from episode 9 as an example: First, we see Tiger's mother and father talk through her prejudice about her son's relationship. Then, we see Tiger trying to reach his parents because he's anxious about her reaction. The tension is palpable because we just learned that everything's fine. Then his father calls him, and Tiger asks him whether he got to talk to his wife, to which he replies that he did and that everything's fine. Yes, we know. That literally just happened. Then Leo comes by to tell Tiger to comfort an anxious Lynx. Do you think Tiger would have ever done so without prompting? Methinks not. Naturally, we then need to watch Tiger turn around and enter the house to go to Lynx, because we are not padding the runtime. Guess what happens next? Tiger tells Lynx that his father talked to his mother and that everything is indeed fine. I am understandably shocked since it is only the third time this information has been relayed to me in the last 2.5 minutes.

Cat for Cash is 10% comedy that made me cringe, 10% romance that made me question whether I hallucinated FirstKhaotung's chemistry in their previous roles, and 80% Lynx working through the stages of grief, but without wreaking me emotionally (would have loved that) and without satisfying my secondary need for poetic, whimsical slice of life. If this series is what FirstKhaotung have always wanted to make, more power to them. As for me, it had me questioning my life choices whenever it wasn't boring me to tears.

Weak storyline but happy ending

If you looking to watch a romance drama, you will most likely enjoy it, and parts of it will give you butterflies and satisfaction when it comes to catching the “bad guy”. But the storyline was lacking, a lot.

The romance between the ML and FL:
There was a huge disconnect in the storyline between the way in which they fell in-love. Based on the characters of these two, and what they were doing for one another, it would make sense why she would like him. He does everything for her and had to save her many times, including her father. But from her side, she seemed very disingenuous, ungrateful, and seems to have put in minimal effort to earn his love. That would make it hard for a viewer to comprehend or understand why he had such strong feelings for her. I know one of the reasons was that he thought she was smart- which she was. The jealousy scenes- I didn’t know if I should laugh or get annoyed because some parts were a-bit unreasonable.

She was very frustrating to watch, especially when he was putting her first but she would tramp on his efforts. But she does redeem herself in some parts of the series.

I enjoy watching romantic historical dramas- so I thought this would be a good watch but the things that came out of her mouth are things that would come out of an evil and jealous “concubine” mouth in another historical drama- like when she constantly speaks about her reputation and strategises how she would come across. Her acting when Mr Wen killed his loyal subject and committed suicide for her, was terrible and lacked the proper emotional response.

The entire storyline:
The entire storyline focused on the embezzlement, corruption and the tax evasion of the Su family. And then after a satisfactory justice scene where their corruption was exposed, Mr Wen kidnaps Ming Tan (FL) out of nowhere and he commits suicide after being cornered. But there are a lot of unanswered question.. Why did he commit suicide for her? Besides him being mesmerised by her beauty and talents to identify quality merchandise- I wondered was so groundbreaking about her impact on him that he would lead to him sacrificing his life for her. The writers should have inserted a moment in their time together that would make it make sense that he would sacrifice his life for her. Example: It would make more sense for Liu Mo to like her, and commit suicide for her due to the kindness she showed him when she gave him the Zither. That you can take as a reason.

I feel like for the most part the ML was extremely smart, he thinks far ahead, and was a great fighter. Their love starts out as a contract marriage, but it was clear he took a liking to her already- in the contract she lists that he cannot make improper advances on her, but once they were married she seems frustrated that he did not pursue her, due to this I thought there would come a scene where she out of frustration asks why, but it seemed it was just brushed over and they didn’t address that. You have to make assumptions based on the many holes in the storyline. When the FL thought that the female general was a concubine that the ML liked and was jealous, this was an opportunity for the writers to have her now show her feelings towards him and for them to build based on that. But it was a lost opportunity. She just accused him, and then when he tells her she’s a general then they just joked about it and moved on. Hence, it was hard to be hooked on their romance.

Positives:
The exposure of the Su family was poetic. I enjoyed seeing the dancer get a second chance, and her role in the plot twist. I also enjoyed the romance between the support roles, it was sweet. The female general and Jing Ran developed a deep connection and you watch it grow. The ML and FL do have a lot of cute moments between them two, and they do progress in their love. And the ending is happy and sweet.

I don’t think this is the worst drama, it is an okay watch. But parts do leave you confused and frustrated.

Did not enjoy the use of AI for some of their B roll nature shots (sun rise/sun set, bird in tree, etc), and overall this story is more of a family drama than a romance between the two leads, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

definitely could've been fewer episodes.

and I think the chemistry between the main couple could've been better and was sadly outshone a bit by the second-lead romance between the sister and the doctor.

Still, overall, the first 8 eps of this series are well done, and while I think there were missed opportunities with certain plot points (like Fang MuYang's hero plot, or the brief fashion sub-plot for Fei Ni).

I think the story's still one of the better cdramas we've gotten in the past 6 months (maybe 2nd after Love Between Lines).

8/10 stars

Love Me, Love My Voice (很想很想你) — my comfort drama fr ?

In a world where dramas are filled with messy love triangles, toxic misunderstandings, and unnecessary chaos… this one felt like a soft exhale.

Love Me, Love My Voice tells the story of Mo Qingcheng and Gu Sheng—two people who meet through their voices and slowly, gently fall in love. And honestly? That’s the whole point. There’s no complicated plot twist or dramatic villain. Just two people, their passions, and the quiet, beautiful way their lives intertwine.

And somehow… that simplicity becomes its biggest strength.

This drama doesn’t try to overwhelm you. Instead, it focuses on something rare—a healthy, steady, and emotionally safe relationship. You literally watch their bond grow step by step: from strangers → comfort → trust → love. No rushing, no forced drama… just pure connection.

What I loved the most is how real everything felt (even if it’s a bit idealistic 👀).
There’s no antagonist here—just people living their lives, chasing their dreams, supporting each other, and existing in a space filled with warmth and respect.

And can we talk about the VIBES—

✔️ soft romance that actually makes your heart feel calm
✔️ supportive friends & family (no stress, just love)
✔️ side characters that actually matter and feel alive
✔️ FOOD. SO MUCH FOOD 😭 (don’t watch this hungry I’m warning you)
✔️ music + voice acting that pulls you in completely

The cooking scenes?? the music?? the quiet moments between them??
It’s not just a drama, it’s literally an experience.

Now the leads—

Tan Jianci and Zhou Ye?? PERFECT casting.
Their chemistry isn’t loud or dramatic, it’s subtle… in their eyes, their pauses, the way they look at each other. It feels intimate and genuine.

Some people might say the romance is “too slow” or “nothing happens”
but honestly? that’s exactly why I loved it.

Not every story needs chaos to be meaningful.

Visually, the drama is just as comforting.
The cinematography is soft and aesthetic, balancing city life with peaceful, intimate moments. And Gu Sheng’s outfits?? that modern traditional Chinese style?? SO pretty and unique, it adds another layer to her character.

And the OSTs… don’t even get me started 😭
Every song fits perfectly, especially with Tan Jianci’s voice—it just hits different. The music doesn’t just play in the background, it feels like part of the story.

But let’s be real for a second—this drama isn’t for everyone.

If you need intense plot, conflict, or fast pacing… you might find it “boring” or “too perfect.”
Some people see it as “no plot, just eating and singing” 💀

And yeah… they’re not entirely wrong.

But for me?

That’s exactly what made it special.

Final thoughts:

This drama is like comfort food.
Soft, warm, simple… but it stays with you.

It’s not about drama—it’s about feeling.

If you want something peaceful after a stressful day, something that makes you smile for no reason and feel butterflies for the smallest moments…

this is THAT drama. 💘

they gave each other butterflies 🦋
and somehow gave me a whole zoo 😭💗

Long rant about the last 10 eps but still the most solid, addicting drama I've seen in a while!

The ONLY reason I didn't give this a solid 10/10 was because of the last 10ish eps. Although we got some of the best passionate scenes between our main CP in those eps, the flow of the story just derailed for me. Starting with the female protagonist's halo... I started to get frustrated with Chang Yu once she arrived at Xie Zheng's military camp. She made a lot of reckless decisions and got away with it because this silly military is led by the biggest lovesick marquis. Her fight scenes were amazing and she took down two big bad guys but I still felt like it all went too easy for her from there. Even when she decided to knock Commander Li out and remove him from the battlefield, I was disappointed in her. He was mad she took his choice away from him but he turns around and forgives her so easily. And then he becomes nothing but a background guy for the rest of the show.

It also felt like they rushed a lot of important information in the last 2 eps. We never met the last emperor so bringing him in right at the end just made him into more of a fall guy than a true villain. Him being the catalyst for everyone's ill fates just seemed too deus ex machina. It felt like the only purpose for this plot twist was to absolve Wei Yan.

The ending was enjoyable until the alternate/next life scene came. Qian Qian's and Qi Min's toxic relationship was romanticized a little too much for me in this drama .I was satisfied with him falling off the wall and his story just ending there. But the way they rushed his takeover scene and then brought him back for two more scenes just to highlight his relationship with QQ didn't do anything for me. It would've been way more interesting if they had given a whole ep with him after he took the throne because his succession storyline was more interesting than his toxic romance for me.

The alternate ending seemed to center around him and QQ as well so I wish I would've stopped watching before seeing that. That whole scene just pulled the carpet out from under the intense journey we all just experienced. They had 40eps to work with. I can forgive the dumping of all this crucial information in the last ep if they had used the rest of the last ep to show us something better. I would've liked to see more time in Lin'an with our CP settled, Ning Niang, The Zhaos, Pig Squad and townspeople. It would've been nice to see QQ and Bao'er back in Lin'an before he was pushed into the palace as well. The reunion scene was beautiful but I would've liked to see more of our CP's married life and children. It would've been nice to see Gongsun Yin and Qi Shu settling into married life too with them reading, playing chess etc...

Those ending gripes aside...I still adored this drama and most of the characters. Everyone was so well written and the chemistry between the leads was intoxicating! The beginning of the story in Lin'an was my favorite part of the show. Watching the mighty Marquis of Wu An slowly become completely consumed by his love for this cheerful, wholesome, and beautiful butcher girl was enchanting. Resisting was a hopeless cause for him and this love actually saved his life both physically and psychologically. She didn't just bring him back from the brink of death. She gave him a new purpose outside of war and revenge. She showed him the joys of love and family which gave him a reason to appreciate living. Although it seems like he helps her a lot more throughout the drama, he needed her more than she needed him from the start. And what a beautiful start is was! When he first lifts his eyes and looks at her for the first time you can see he is instantly attracted to her striking beauty. You could cut the tension with a knife between them! I was hooked on them from that moment on. But he was still cold on the outside and hollow on the inside at first. She slowly breathed warmth into him which made him gradually more affectionate. It wasn't until he got to know her that he completely fell for her because he saw how big her heart was and how unique she was.

LEADS: Putting my frustrations with her towards the end aside, Chang Yu is the perfect heroine in this story. She is humble, strong and emotionally grounded. She is completely transparent and generous with her love and has a naturally forgiving nature. But when Yan Zheng crosses the line or upsets her, she doesn't let him get away with it just because he's handsome and she loves him. She puts him in his place both times he hurt her. I love that about her the most. And Yan Zheng is impossible not to like, even with his flaws. It's understandable that he faulters with his words and actions in the beginning of their relationship. This man didn't have a tender bone in his body before meeting her. He was in love for the first time and all these new and intense emotions were clearly driving him crazy. But once he learned to look at things from her perspective he stopped coming on too strong and became the perfect husband. And he reserves his soft side only for her for the whole drama (well and Ning Niang and Bao'er lol ).

Supporting characters: I found the Sui brothers were both very interesting and intriguing in different ways. But I'd say the most fascinating villain was Wei Yan because my feelings kept shifting back and forth about him from the beginning to the end. I loved the pig squad (still not over Man Di's death!), the Zhaos, Old Tutor Tao, Gongsun Yin, Princess Qi Shu, Ning Niang and Bao'er the most. QianQian I liked independently, but again, I didn't care her scary romance with Qi Min to be so front and center. The two had chemistry for sure but it just felt like they tried to get us to root for them as a CP and I didn't like that.

Overall everything was close to perfect in this show. The cinematography, casting, acting, writing, and OST were all *chef's kiss*!

Amazing! I would’ve loved that the adaptation was a little closer to the novel, especially on very specific events, but I understand that the drama it’s only 40 episodes, regardless of this changes I love it❤️❤️I love the chemistry between the leads, and the cinematography was breathtaking, the OST amazing !

Be a pig in this life, and a good person in the next.

My favorite scene was several, but the one that stuck with me was the bathtub scene. I'd never seen anything like it before, and since 2011 I've been watching dramas, I found it sensual, warm, and romantic.

It became my favorite drama. The main actors and the villains were incredible in their roles. The fight scenes and the hate speeches from the "brothers" were great. The romance was beautiful; I can't imagine a better way to portray it. The color palette, the production, and the camera work were excellent. I loved this actress; I intend to watch more dramas with her. Zhang Li is a great fit for historical dramas.

The only thing that fell short was the ending. I wanted it to show them with children and getting married again, not the post-credits scene if the battle hadn't happened 17 years ago.

I'm going to miss the feeling of anticipation and happiness with each episode release. Seriously, it changed my days in March; they became better!

The songs are beautiful, they've been added to my playlist. When I listen to them, I get emotional remembering the scenes.

After it's over, I feel so empty! I loved it, I'll feel so healthy :(

Addicting!

I will always love a crime kdrama, and this is no exception. I was especially looking forward to this one since I loved Ji Sung's performance in the Devil Judge, and he did not disappoint! Connection told such a compelling story of interwoven unsolved cases, and I was HOOKED! If you like crime dramas at all, you have to give this one a shot.

Jang Jaegyeong works in the (very successful) narcotics unit. Him, along with reporter Oh Yoonjin, begin investigating a new drug that has been spreading called lemon mulberry, which gives the user great focus and concentration at the cost of live-threatening withdrawals and quick-building tolerance. Basically, it's the perfect recipe for maximum addiction. At the same time, an old friend of Jaegyong's named Junseo tries to reconcile with him over events from high school that ruined their friendship. After another pleading attempt, Junseo continues to get nowhere with Jaegyeong. One night, Jaegyeong is kidnapped and drugged with lemon mulberry with no memory of what happened; around the same time, Junseo's body is found at a construction site and is tentatively considered suicide. Jaegyeong begins simultaneously investigating the potential murder of Junseo and the rise and spread of lemon mulberry, and starts connecting the cases together.

This show was genuinely so much fun to watch, especially if you pay close attention. While there are a lot of characters you need to know, all of them play such interesting roles in these murder and drug cases. Plus, as a viewer, you can try to start piecing together everything yourself alongside the detectives, which I always love. I find I have a hard time getting into shows when the viewer knows a lot more than the characters, but this was the perfect balance of trying to lead the viewer to make conclusions with small pieces of evidence while also making sure the detectives are competent and are putting things together. I also felt like the twists in the plot were built in perfectly - no twists that didn't make any sense just for shock value, but the way things came together was still unexpected. Truly, this was a really well thought out crime drama that keeps you wanting more episodes!

IT WAS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, I have note watched the movie and directly watched this version so I won't compare the two and now to actual review
BECAUSE MY GOD HOW MUCH DID I CRY??????
It was soo emotional and caring in it's approach to the subject of love and how I wished that I can watched with fresh mind again.....Because everything was perfect from music to cinematography and especially CAST!!!!!
And now to the ending....From my POV it was PERFECT and I don't want it change in any way ( Aside from one little thing which you know what I am talking about but we can't get everything right????)
Overall it was perfect from the start to finish!!!!!!!

Waste of time

I dont know why its so highly praised. It took 20 something episodes for the miscommunication to be cleared! 20 episodes! I hated bailus character to be frank! And before you all come at me i love her but i dont know why in the world she took on this role! Probably one if not the worst role she has played!

.

This was a slightly different kind of BL, but I really liked it.
It had a unique feeling compared to what I usually watch, and that made it stand out in a good way. Sometimes it’s nice to watch something a bit different — and this one worked for me. 😊
