Goddammit! They made me (sit through &) enjoy fluff
I go into every fluffy drama with a dramatic side eye. IDK what it is about them, but more often than not, the acting is usually average at best, the comedy is overdone (or doesn't land), the pacing is horrendous, or the story is overly simplistic or nonsensical. And if I'm particularly unlucky, I am assaulted with the deadly combination of 3 or all the above factors. If you cannot tell, I do not generally enjoy fluff shows - I mean, my favourite BL stories include "My Beautiful Man", "Love Mechanics", "My Stand-In", "The End of the World with You", "KinnPorsche", "Moonlight Chicken", and most recently "Revenged Love". Clearly, I have a flair for the dramatic. I like a complicated story with characters who live in the grey areas of life, rather than in clear-cut blacks and whites. Fluff doesn't cut it in my house. Which is why my enjoyment of this drama comes as such a surprise to me.
Despite liking FirstKhao's acting chops, I was convinced I'd hate it. But week after week, I found myself coming back. The plot is simple but not nonsensical. It has heart, specifically in regards to Khaotung's character dealing with his mom's death (the guilt and regrets surrounding that), the aftermath and picking up the pieces, as well as learning to open himself up to love. The comedy also wasn't overdone. All in all, it was a good, low-stress way to pass the time on a Tuesday night.
Now, would I rewatch this? Honestly, no. Just because I like FirstKhao as an acting ship doesn't suddenly make me a changed woman. I am set in my ways. I am more likely to rewatch their scenes in Only Friends or The Heart Killers than I am this. I think I was able to enjoy this as much as I did because I only had to watch one episode a week. Everything was spaced out. If I had to binge it, I'd have likely dropped it. Or it'd have taken me a lot longer to complete it. But for those who love fluffy shows and like this ship, yeah, I believe your rewatch value/likelihood will be much higher than mine
PS. High school BLs (with age-appropriate actors) are the only exception to my dramatic side eye. They are 1000% allowed to be fluffy and cute. I will eat the shit up every time.

OMG! this was a so nice drama
I actually saw this drama on Netflix coincidently, I was first like didn't wanted to watch it cause I didn't know the drama and I had no hopes. But after just watching the first episode I knew this is gonna be a nice drama. I can't understand why it's so underrated. This drama is such a hidden gem. The casting was good, the story line was soo good. I finished the drama in 2 days. The slow romance burn between Xue Li and Xiao Heng is uufff!!!!,tbh the ending kinda had me a little doubtful but it's not a major one. I would recommend this drama to anyone and I'm so glad that I watched this. Nice drama you must watchWas this review helpful to you?

Important
Not worth to watch. The story didn't actually end really well could have been more evident reason for the main leads to get separate . The acting and chemistry was on point but not the climax. The climax made me feel off about the drama . frankly speaking whole drama was too good to be real but the climax was just opposite and made a good drama into really bad...............................................................................It's really a K-Trauma...............................

A beautiful disappointment
I went into *In Your Radiant Season* with high expectations — it has a strong cast, and the first episode is genuinely beautiful. The cinematography is soft and atmospheric, and there’s a quiet sense of mystery that made me feel like I was settling into something gentle and absorbing. But by episode two, that mystery is resolved far too quickly, and the story shifts into much more familiar, predictable territory. It feels as though the drama loses its nerve — instead of allowing the story to unfold slowly and build emotional depth, it leans heavily into well-worn tropes (and an astonishing number of car accidents).
Visually, it remains a pleasure throughout. The styling is particularly striking — textured layers, elegant silhouettes, and thoughtful details that make the wardrobe one of the show’s real strengths.
There is also a warmth in the storytelling, and I can see what it’s trying to offer. But for me, the lack of sustained tension or emotional investment made it difficult to stay engaged. I wanted to feel more — to be drawn in gradually — but instead found myself losing interest as it went on.
A beautiful beginning, but ultimately a disappointing follow-through.

A Brilliant Idea Lost in Its Own Mechanics
This is quite an interesting drama, and I watched it with pleasure. Although one may find it messy and inconsistent, it doesn’t actually have that many plot holes and is, in fact, more logical than many short dramas. Once you finish it and try to unravel the story, you should be able to understand it, and then you may appreciate its uniqueness.First of all, contrary to appearances, this is NOT a transmigration drama!
In fact, all the characters are insiders; no one has transmigrated there from an outside world. However, an outside world (or a meta level) does exist, because an author is mentioned. So the whole story takes place inside a fictional world, and the central point of the plot is the fact that the characters become aware of their identity: they discover that they are merely characters in a script and are not masters of their own fate.
The story keeps repeating endlessly, and in this aspect the drama differs from many other dramas featuring a “world inside a script.” A similar detail appeared in Prisoner of Beauty at the beginning, when Li Yitong kept trying to change the script, only to die and return to the starting point. Here, however, the characters are not transmigrators, and even when they follow the script, the story continues in an infinite loop.
Thus, the drama is not about transmigration, but rather about awakening. And here we encounter a plot hole: how does this awakening actually happen? For the female lead, it occurs when she starts to see writing in the sky and realizes that this writing tells the story she is part of. But how and why does this writing appear? There is one line of dialogue in which the FL supposes that this is done by the author (a great absentee of the drama), who is, in fact, not opposed to his characters gaining awareness. While this is quite an interesting idea, it is not sufficiently developed, and the line may easily go unnoticed by the audience.
As mentioned, the author is absent, but there is another entity present and working against our heroes: the Author’s Consciousness. This is the main point of the plot. While the main characters are able to awaken and may then try to break free from the script, this entity is the ultimate antagonist. It is the embodiment of the Author’s Consciousness, which has apparently taken on its own personality and may even act against the author’s will (assuming it really is the author who communicates with the characters through the writing in the sky). It exists inside the story but also on a kind of meta level, and its powers enable it to control the characters and even delete them. When the heroes discover this mechanism, they realize that they must defeat the Consciousness without being annihilated by it. However, the Consciousness has yet another ability that makes it difficult to deal with: it can hide inside a character, meaning that killing it would require killing the character as well.
Up to this point, the pieces of the puzzle seem to fit together. But then another plot hole appears: the characters are able to create some kind of pocket worlds, built according to their ideas and wishes. Once they discover this possibility, why don’t they explore it further? Why don’t they try to use it against the Consciousness? In fact, at the end, that is exactly what they do: the male lead creates a trap inside their pocket world and imprisons the Consciousness within it. He also uses the “blueprints” of the pocket world to make his own return possible. Again, the idea is interesting and innovative for C-dramas, but it is not presented or explored in a sufficiently clear way. As a result, the audience becomes even more confused.
Most of the plot holes are linked to this concept of the pocket world. While we see how one can enter it (by jumping over the city walls), we don’t know how the characters get back. The pocket world seems to exist outside the main story world, so this is a crucial issue. It becomes even more critical at the end of the drama: the male lead is annihilated in the pocket world, and five years later he reappears in the same spot. Why the five-year gap? He should have reappeared just moments after his disappearance, since he created his way back by drawing his silhouette in the “blueprint.” How does the female lead return to the city from the pocket world if she starts to lose her memories while still inside it? How does the doctor—a pocket-world character—travel between the two bubbles? He clearly doesn’t need to jump from the city walls. This is the major inconsistency of the drama: the channel between the two bubbles (the main world and the pocket world) is not sufficiently worked out.
To sum up, the plot contains many interesting and innovative ideas, but there are undeniably holes in it. The mechanics of the world are not explained clearly enough and end up confusing the audience.
This is not necessarily a bad thing: at the beginning, the audience is as confused as the characters themselves. We think this is a transmigration drama, when it is not. We think the plot is linear, when it is actually circular. We think the author controls the script, when in fact it is his emancipated Consciousness. Step by step, the mechanics are revealed to us—but not in a sufficiently clear manner.
Paradoxically, this may render the drama more rewatchable.
All the plot holes seem to have been left in place because the creators believed they could be covered by the thick layer of emotional impact and chemistry.
They were not entirely wrong. Despite the inconsistencies, one can still enjoy the show, largely thanks to Yan Zixian, who truly delivers. He is an extremely dependable actor, especially when it comes to generating intense emotions and strong chemistry. Throughout the viewing, I constantly found myself comparing this drama to The Fortune Writer.
While The Fortune Writer is definitely more consistent and features more interesting characters, Fate Beyond the Script offers many innovative ideas and—above all—Yan Zixian, who is far superior at conveying emotions.

Golden Scenery of Tomorrow - so far, the best Filipino Wattpad adaptation
GSOT is the 4th installation of the University series. (First being The Rain in España, 2nd is Safe Sky Archer, 3rd is Chasing in the wild). It follows the story of Larkin Sanchez and Avianna Diaz who are childhood best friends and how they grow together and realized their feelings for each other. Yet at the same time holding back themselves out of fear of losing their friendship .This is so far one of my most favorite Wattpad Adaptation and I would like to divide this review into parts.
CASTING (9.5/10)
Bea Binene as VIA- (9/10) when I first saw her as the one acting as Via in The Rain in España I was quite hesitant about her character. I can really barely feel her in the first 2 series. Also I've seen more of bubbly Bea Binene in her previous projects. But in the series, she managed to stick with the character from the book. I just felt that the scenes or her hatred towards her mother is a bit over the top. I just wish she can be more expressive of her feelings.
Wilbert Ross as LARKIN / KINO- (100/10) Perfect for the role. I swear he is the Larkin coming straight from the book.. everything about what I've imagined Kino.to be in the book is Wilbert Ross .. Larkin comes to life. Wilbert has able to give justice to his role . I can't imagine a different actor portraying Larkin.
----
***Minor character but. I don't think ERIC FRUCTUOSO is the best choice for VIA'as father.. his acting seems off and not the type of father who loses a wife and had to support 4 children. I don't know but whenever it's his scene. It's becoming cringey, especially the scene of him crying with the parents of Larkin . I don't know but . They could have chosen someone else for it**
STORY LINE (9/10)
Out of all the Filipino Wattpad adaptation, I must say this one is one of the very few which stick with the book and didn't put a lot of changes or twist . It makes you familiar with the story without being disappointed or surprised with twist and others. The scenes on the book are clearly depicted and brought to life.
It makes you feel grateful for the gift of true friendship. Among all the other university series. This one provided a clear start and explanation of how the friend group started which is very important if you want to understand all the other series in this universe.
MUSIC (.8.5/10)
I was used to watching Kdrama sort where there is an OST for each episode. But in this adaptation . Songs like Ginintuang Tanawin and Ngiti are used very repetitive. I understand that it's the soundtrack but there can be more creative twist to it., like using the songs as background music, only with piano instrumentals. or guitars. And not the characters having to sing them over and over . But the songs were great and a testament of Via and Kino's love story.
CINEMATOGRAPHY (9/10)
I understand that due to the title, the colors RED, ORANGE YELLOW and GOLD are the most used in this series but as much as it is relevant to the series, it also gives a melancholic vibes even if the scene is funny or sweet. It somehow is contrasting . It can be made better. But still acceptable.
REWATCH VALUE (100/10)
I just finished watching it and I want to start watching it all over again . Merely for the via and kino scenes especially when they're still in high school.. I laughed so much and cried so much with this series. I would definitely watch it again whenever I wanted a good laugh or to cry.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED especially for those who are suckers of ROMCOM.

Came in just for the ml and got more than expected
A nice surprise of a typical plot with the usual tropes, but exuding the feel of mature love and (what won me over) realistic clash of modern and ancient personalities. Also, I am on a lookout for the stories involving leads who are parenting (heck yes! A Familiar Stranger, Spring Fever, Eternal Joy with You) and parenting here was done so naturally, without unnecessary cuteness.
A bit surprised to see one ML looking so different from his previous looks in other dramas.
Solid. Good production.

A Quiet Kind of Love: Why Cat for Cash Stays With You
As someone who has a immense love for cats, Cat for Cash felt incredibly special to watch. At first glance, it comes across as a soft, cozy series a simple story set in a cat café filled with warmth and quiet moments. But underneath that softness, it carries so much emotional depth.
Tiger’s character and His immense love for cats, yet not being able to physically touch them because of his allergies, felt like such a quiet but powerful metaphor for longing, loving something deeply while being kept at a distance. And yet, he never lets that stop him from caring. That says so much about who he is.
Lynx, on the other hand, carries a much heavier emotional journey. The grief of losing his mother isn’t just about loss it’s about everything left unsaid. The feeling that he was never loved enough, or that he came second to the cats in the café, stays with him long after she’s gone. That kind of pain wondering if you were ever “enough” in a parent’s eyes is something the show portrays so honestly. Watching Lynx slowly unpack that, confront it, and grow from it was one of the most beautiful parts of the series.
His character development is incredible. From someone guarded and hurting to someone who allows himself to be loved, especially by Tiger felt so natural and earned. And Tiger being that constant, gentle presence in his life made their relationship feel so real and safe.
And I have to say the acting was just so good. Which honestly doesn’t surprise me at all because it’s First and Khaotung. But the way they brought these characters to life felt so natural and effortless. You could feel every bit of Lynx’s grief, confusion, and growth, and every bit of Tiger’s quiet love and patience. Their chemistry wasn’t just believable it felt lived-in, soft, and deeply real.
Their love story is what truly makes this series shine. It’s soft, patient, and deeply genuine. Watching them slowly become boyfriends and eventually get married felt so natural like a quiet promise growing stronger over time. I also loved how they embraced being “cat dads,” building a life together that felt full and meaningful in its own way.
One of the most touching parts was their fear of telling Tiger’s mother about their relationship, especially knowing she had always hoped for grandchildren. The way the show handled this was so beautiful from that fear and hesitation to Tiger introducing their cats as her “grandchildren,” and her gradual acceptance. It felt real, gentle, and deeply human.
As someone who has been in a queer relationship and doesn’t necessarily dream of having children but would absolutely love a life full of cats, this felt incredibly validating. It showed that love, family, and happiness don’t have to fit into one traditional mold.
And then there’s Granny Ju… her passing was one of the most emotional moments in the entire series. She was such a meaningful presence in Lynx’s life, and you could feel just how much he loved her. That loss hit deeply not just as losing a pet, but as losing a piece of comfort, memory, and home.
Overall, Cat for Cash is more than just a cute BL with cats. It’s about grief, healing, chosen family, and learning to accept love both from others and yourself. It’s soft, but it stays with you.
If you’re looking for something comforting yet emotionally impactful, this is absolutely worth watching.

Started off strong but went downhill after a while.
Plot armours for the fl but I'm not complaining in fact I'm here for it!!The ml's story got compromised alot and his character became nothing but an aura farmer. idk how half of you are losing your minds over him (pretty privilege i guess)
The chemistry between the fl and ml kinda became meh~ for me after a while and I started skipping their romantic scenes coz I was really not interested.
As for the storyline there are too many plotholes and it felt like the screenwriter half assed the side characters storyline, which weakens the overall narrative, and it resulted in the drama becoming uninteresting and generic. A show in which only the main ones are the "good guys" and get a happy ending while the rest are dust feels very black and white which is BORING and nothing new in cdramas hence, generic.
Poj started off so good and interesting and it's sad how everything went downhill after a while.
Apart from the main characters, side characters are what makes a story more engaging and this drama did not handle their story well.
A portion of the blame goes to the editors as well, some scenes were too poorly edited, weird scene cuts and pickups, and the amount of time given to the steamy scenes of second couple got was unnecessary and it should've been gone to some other characters to fill in the plot holes.
Overall too many aura farming moments, weak story weak characters and weak everything.
To be honest the thing I most enjoyed was the bond between fan changning and bao'er and I was more interested in them and their future story than the Main characters.
everyone has different preferences but I can't help and feel like everyone is in a collective hypnosis with the way this drama is hyped 😭.
I guess having too many good faces in a show has its perks..

Standard but sweet ☕️
In the tiny niche of vertical dramas starring musical theatre actors and created by musical theatre production crew, this is probably among the best? I appreciate what OA Live is trying to do by bringing musical theatre to the mainstream, and I gather this was really cool for fans of Seungan and Nahyun to have screen media of this iconic duo! Seeing the protagonists' relationship develop was honestly really cute and healing. I had some issues with the editing and framing, but nothing too egregious. The story is wholesome and bite-sized, but if you're looking for something that does something new with the vertical genre, you won't find it here. Loved seeing some familiar Daehakro faces.*with the power to create MDL entries comes the power to review obscure shows. I will wield it well.

IDK: what I hope the story would be (SPOILERS)
Honestly I was hoping for a really toxic and tension full dynamic and little more insane ml. Like it started off so addicting and like hot but then the ml turned out to be a HUGE fluffball (i dont hate it) like when it went cutie pattootie vibes it was entertaining just not what I was hoping for. Like it had such a solid foundation that could turn the plot into so much more. They could’ve expanded on this shared hatred and their clashed beliefs. Like they turned him into a hero, I just feel like it could’ve been a DARK ROMANCE, like in this he became an angel almost literally a benovelent general (again i dont hate just had hoped for dark romance). They turned Mei Lin into a damsel in distress, SHE IS MEI LIN, one who withstood torture for this revenge and you’re telling me she wasn’t upset at the fact that she couldn’t get revenge. The ML’s battle with his disability and pride was such a good struggle to highlight, literally broke me so much when he couldn’t hold his bladder. That loss of dignity and people should’ve flamed this vengeful side of him. His insanity shouldve been higlighted more like the part where he digs her body, or his possesiveness in terms of she CANNOT die(they could also do the “I decide wether you live or die” typa thing). The Plot went offcourse though, should mainly focus on revenge plot not repeating the fire massacre situation and including xiyan plot very unecessary. A simple plot with a detailed content goes a long way. They are way toooooo merciful with the villain, even gave him a love interest. Was this review helpful to you?

First half the best but second half lost that charm .
Overall, a very good drama despite its many flaws I listed below. One of the very few period dramas I really enjoyed from the first to the last. What I liked
1. First half is just beautiful. The leads, every single characters that you come across has a personality and you recognise their quirks at the get go. Even the Xigu Valley is a character in itself. This is so rare these days to see that kind of immersive narration.
2. The leads. Their acting and chemistry from the get go is sizzling. The Linan arc for them is just so so fresh and good. I loved how they setup the leads. The way FL recognises that ML was the one who fought those goons at the house was chef's kiss. She is not dumb and naive. She is strong, resourceful, smart and kind. I love that about her. She is such a lovely character through and through. ML as well . You can see from the get go that he is not someone he pretends to be with his subtle expression changes.
3. The child artists specially ChangNing is such a cutie and did so well.
4 The little detailing and having almost every character shelved out well.
5. Absolutely loved the cinematography. The lighting, the setup, costumes and makeup. Both the leads looked stunning throughout in their different attires. Be it in village, military or noble attires. Specially ZLH look was the best out of all periodic dramas he did so far.
6. Comedic effects in the first half was too good. I laughed out loud many a times.
What could have been better and ended up dropping my overall rating
1. Second half in general. It was rushed with a lot of cuts confusing what is going on. I guess 40 episode limit was the major culprit.
2. Rushed growth of FL. Yes they showed her learning but it was not enough for the level of growth they showed. She is treated equal to ML by episode 35 which seems unrealistic.
3. Ridiculous court scenes. The comedic route they took for court scenes and the emperor did not work for me. Specially the way FL treats the senior members of the court too was a bit too arrogant considering her status compared to others. I know she is a simple village girl but when she knows how to behave in front of judicial officer back in Linan it is not like she is naive enough to speak rudely in the court. I know they are bad people but that does not mean a newbie can talk however they want. Her breaking Li grandfather's carriage was something I loved because she did that in private but not the court scenes. It felt as if FL had too much leeway just because she was FL and the director need to show her brave and strong. She does so many questionable things throughout like drugging ML, knocking out a commander officer when she just joined army minutes ago with zero repercussions. Instead the commander kneels to her and apologises because he thinks he was wrong. What!
4. Too much preachy. I have seen that many of modern sensibilities are sort of forced on these periodic dramas which pulls me out of the story. In the story setting, ML is older and has more experience but even then they have the need to show that when they fight she is holding back if he wins. When they are in battlefield, she has to fight beside him and refuses to stand behind him. Instead she gives the option whom to fight with to ML so she will fight whoever he leaves out. That does not make sense. He is Marquis and she just joined at most a few months back. I don't get it. It is so unrealistic in a historical setting. Women can be strong but still be second to someone more experienced. They are mutually exclusive. FL can be allowed to be second to ML and other senior officers in terms of prowess (not in the relationship mind you). That does not make her weak. It shows her grit to better herself . But no she will not entertain such things.
5. Too many unnecessary scenes of villain forcing himself on the woman he is obsessed with. Showing one or two scene was enough for us to get the equation. But they literally have more kisses and so called sensual (it is r**e scene basically ) scenes romanticising them which did not sit well with me. Instead they could have showed more of leads.

❤️ My internal clock woke me up at 4:00 a.m. to watch this for a week.
StoryThe story was surprisingly accurate. When I did a comparison between plot lines in the novel versus the drama I was surprised to see that the drama stayed very loyal to the book. And I say surprised, because it felt, especially towards ep 26-30, that the drama was falling behind. That said, it’s because it was missing a lot of context that was left in the novel.
I completely understand the choice to cut out some of plot lines and missions (ex: the bear, interrogating/breaking out prisoners, the multiple battles in the capital…) for time. But where they cut, they also included a lot of scenes for other characters. For instance, QM and YQQ barely had any of their own pov in the novel, while the drama devoted almost 1/3 of its time to them (and I do appreciate the toxic love story). But the screenwriter decided to incorporate the side stories into the main story, thereby taking away time from the main story.
So we missed a lot of plots surrounding our main characters in exchange for other characters. But for what they kept, they stayed really faithful. Almost word for word.
The story stayed very faithful the characters in a lot of ways, but also deviated from them somewhat. For instance, for XZ/YZ, we barely get any context about his mother’s suicide and how it affected him beyond nightmares and hints about self loathing. In the book, it’s deeply tied to his reluctance to fall in love, how he doesn’t want to end up like his mother falling in love with someone that when they die it kills them. He blames himself more than anyone, and when he finds out that his mother killed herself to save him from his uncle, it completely floors him. It was a huge moment in the book where he went to confront WY at his parent’s graves. Or when they realize that her father was WX and he actually leaves her and throws himself into the war to try to get her out of his head, injuring himself repeatedly, then going to his family and asking to be whipped 108 times because he committed a grave sin by falling in love with her and deciding he cannot let her go. I mean, the angst!! Dial it up by x20 in the novel.
And I can excuse those changes for needing to cut time. I think the change I disliked the most was ep 26/27 when after he’s drugged, he doesn’t kill the opposing side General like he does in the book. That was one change I was genuinely confused why they would do that. It just prolonged that plot point for that guy to come back for 2 seconds and be killed in a 1 second. That was, I think, the only change that actually annoyed me. Because in the book, after he wakes up, he goes to fight in the battle before seeking out CY, having confidence that she could take care of herself and that if she couldn’t his people would take care of her, even though he was worried.
Generally the show did an amazing job. If I didn’t read the novel, I would think this still an amazing watch for its plot. Still 10/10.
And I do love some the changes they made in the show. XZ/YZ is infinitely nicer and less of a dick to people. And while some people may complain that he’s not showing the power of being the feared marquis, I appreciated the change. We still see the depth of his power because he can mobilize people to do what he wants and his reputation is as feared general and he has so much arrogance from his achievements that he doesn’t even kneel for the emperor. I like that we see him be nice to Changning and to Bao’er, especially in the village.
I like that the mains relationship had a lot more consent in it. I think the mains relationship was so beautifully written and perfectly performed (I’ll get to that later).
Despite the fact that it cut into the main story line, I love that they included the side stories and added the complexity to the other characters (WY, QM, SY…)
My general review for the story as a whole was that it’s a good story. Having read the novel, of course I’m disappointed that parts I consider pivotal weren’t included, but I’m not that mad about it because of how the drama came together as a whole.
I definitely think my understanding of the drama is probably affected by the translation. I saw online someone say that the translations lost a lot of the formality and context. So hopefully I can either learn mandarin or someone can do an in depth translation with guides on the jokes or important verbiage that are lost on those who don’t speak the language.
I think overall, too much time in the village, that could have been cut down and devoted to more background in their families and backstory. I don’t know if it helped that I read the novel so I knew what was happening, or if it hurt because I knew what should have been happening.
Acting/Cast
When I say that the best part of this drama was the actors, I am not lying. The actors understood the f*cking assignment, and I applaud them heartily.
Our leads ZLH and TXW had peak chemistry. I have watched their other works before and I do not know if I’ve ever been this obsessed with them. They’ve never looked better, they’ve never acted better.
I swear to god TXW eyes did more acting in this drama than some veteran actors in their entire careers. And ZLH’s microexpressions and his jaw. HIS JAW!! Did so much acting!
Now, yes they are both very pretty people and do benefit from the pretty privilege where you can ignore bad acting. But I genuinely think they did act very well in this series. This is a director who knew what he wanted and got it from his cast.
I also watched the behind the scenes footage and was surprised by how much say the actor’s had in what they wanted to do considering how intentional this director is with his choices in the drama.
Besides our leads, our side characters were also outstanding. DK and SK’s chemistry was on fire. While toxic obsession stories are not my cup of tea I give them all the props for their chemistry and flawless acting. They played incredibly nuanced characters. LQ and YZL also gave an amazing performance of their pure love story. And LMR is a new young break out actor I hope to see more of.
Special mention to the young actors playing CN and YB. They did amazing.
Music / Cinematography
I have nothing but love for this director and his way of capturing the story and the characters. He is so deliberate about his choices, the coloring, the focus, the details are just so layered and intentional.
The music and composition was beautiful.
Rewatch Value
10/10
Would rewatch, would reread, have been rewatching, and rereading.
