explanation of the ending

The second season was perfect in my opinion, a third wasn't needed but I still didn't dislike it. The ending was a bit vague so I'm here to explain it. The Borderlands are (as the Joker explained) places between life and death and if you survive there you will also live in real life but if you die well you will really die. You end up in the Borderlands because there are natural disasters like what happened in Tokyo. In the series we move to Los Angeles where we see a waitress with a sign that says Alice and we hear on TV that a natural disaster also happens in America so in short the ending meant that there would be an Alice in Borderlands American BUT, Netflix confirmed that there won't be one and honestly I prefer it not to be.

That's why we need more episodes to fully develop the story.

The plot is unique and fun to watch at the beginning, but things start to go downhill in the last two episodes. I understand that the audience wants a happy ending, but the way they handled it just doesn't make sense. Scent's uncle and father literally killed Gaysorn's parents, yet we're supposed to believe Gaysorn forgives Scent just like that? It also feels strange that Scent's father is suddenly portrayed as a more neutral character in the later episodes. And after everything that happened, Scent decides to name the perfume after Gaysorn? I understand wanting to create a fragrance inspired by him, but naming it after him gives me the ick. To tell the good thing, the cast and the music are definitely the highlights of the series. But the last two episodes frustrated me so much that even the flock of CGI butterflies surrounding Gaysorn in the final scene annoyed me. What was the direction behind that butterfly CGI? It looked so messy.

sociology students will love this piece

I watched this movie thinking that maybe it is related to some viruses and infections. But to my surprise It was about viruses and parasites we have among our society, the parasite of class system, the parasite that is between a rich and a poor.
This movie is not your regular rom-com rather it show cases the true nature of human beings, It shows how no one is fully saint nor fully evil. And no matter how much you dislike each character for something they did( i dislike their acts too) but at the end you can't deny not doing the same if being in their position. The start of the movie kind of broke my heart and the way a scene captures a gold medal hanging on the wall of their home in the basement, truly shows that without having money in your hands even your gold medals are equivalent to nothing.
That is harsh and bitter reality of society. Through the family's struggle we were shown how every person was trying to climb up the ladder of social mobility.
you must not watch this movie with a lens of critique rather watch it with the lens of understanding. what is movie trying to SHOW.
the pacing was great. the story telling was great.
the ending was great, it is the kind of ending that stays with you even after the credits roll.

This series is one of a kind. It’s like a revelation.

I have only watched 2 episodes so far as they aired and I can say it’s really good. The pacing, the story, the ACTING, the characters, I feel myself wanting more and more. The emotions are being felt in a devastating way, either it’s sadness or happiness, bittersweet moments or comedy, these two episodes were a rollercoaster for me. The dynamics between the wives seems to scream to me to witness how love and hurt can unfold in the name of happiness, in the name of “I love you but let me go”, it’s so thrilling. I’m so excited for the next episode, I can’t wait!! I feel so alive, keeping rewatching it and feeling the same while understanding another depth of the story is just a blessing. Wow

HALF realistic, half fantastical, but very cute

LOL at the “mosquito” scene:

1. it was not a mosquito by looks
2. it is not how it sounds, either
3. the lad would have certainly both felt and seen this fly immediately and shoo it away reflexively, so nothing else would have happened
4. the other lad was approaching as if he wanted to catch the fly by his lips and eat it

This is what happens when “romantic” cliche are too warn out so scenarists have to come up with something about as senseless still.

Of course, the dynamics of both couples is not believable, especially the second one, though this is typical for the genre.

The ending is purely fantastical as nothing like that happens in the industry.

Overall this is quite good for short dramas. The story is good, the acting amazing, the setting, wardrobe and everything is good. This is one of the short dramas that have the budget to film…If you have limited time to watch, this can be one of your choices…

Hostage thriller & satira politica. Oltre la romance: vi spiego quello che nessuno ha scritto.

Snowdrop IN VERITA' è un hostage thriller, una satira politica e un laboratorio del potere. Oserei dire che la componente romantica è fortemente sbilanciata, presente ma al 30%.

Come serie tv è probabilmente uno dei drama che mi ha fatto cambiare idea più volte durante la visione. Sono partita pensando di trovarmi davanti a una delle tante storie romantiche idol-centriche osannate dal fandom e, nei primi episodi, ero persino tentata di abbandonarlo. Il romance non mi coinvolgeva, la chimica tra i protagonisti mi sembrava debole e il ritmo era estremamente dilatato.
Eppure, episodio dopo episodio, ho iniziato a rendermi conto che stavo guardando la serie dalla prospettiva sbagliata, perchè Snowdrop* non è semplicemente una storia d'amore (o avrei droppato al quarto).

È un hostage thriller costruito su un impianto politico, con una forte componente di satira del potere, alla maniera dei grandi registi moderni.
Ed è questo l'aspetto che, a mio avviso, merita davvero attenzione.

Il vero protagonista è il potere, o meglio, il modo in cui la serie rappresenta il potere: ogni personaggio cerca continuamente di dominare qualcuno e, nello stesso tempo, subisce il dominio di qualcun altro.
È una dinamica che si ripete ossessivamente a tutti i livelli delle varie gerarchie sociali rappresentate.

Sul piano internazionale assistiamo allo scontro tra Corea del Nord e Corea del Sud, che utilizzano gli esseri umani come semplici pedine sacrificabili. All'interno dell'ANSP i superiori schiacciano gli inferiori, salvo poi vedere questi ultimi trasformarsi, una volta ottenuta una promozione, in copie dei loro stessi oppressori (rappresentate in modo volutamente grottesco e caricaturale). Il personaggio di An è emblematico: da uomo quasi ridicolo e servile assume progressivamente atteggiamenti sempre più autoritari, cambia linguaggio, postura, modo di relazionarsi con gli altri.

Lo stesso meccanismo si ripete tra i politici, che si tradiscono, si ricattano e si usano reciprocamente. Persino le mogli dei politici riproducono una gerarchia ferocissima: la " ape regina" domina le altre, ma appena perde potere viene immediatamente aggredita da chi fino al giorno prima le era sottomessa.

La dinamica continua persino nel dormitorio: la cantante esercita il proprio potere sociale su Bun-ok, la centralinista. Bun-ok, appena intravede una possibilità di rivalsa, inizia a bullizzare Young-ro e la stessa cantante. È un ciclo continuo di sopraffazione.

Per questo motivo considero Snowdrop quasi un piccolo laboratorio psicologico sul potere.

La serie mostra con grande lucidità come chi viene umiliato non diventi necessariamente più empatico. Molto spesso, appena ne ha l'occasione, riproduce sugli altri lo stesso schema di dominio che ha subito. Questa è probabilmente la riflessione più interessante dell'intera opera ed è il motivo della mia alta valutazione nonostante tutte le falle.

La satira politica che funziona 👌🏼

Molti personaggi politici sono volutamente caricaturali. All'inizio questo mi aveva infastidita, ma andando avanti ho capito che quella scelta non nasceva da incapacità, bensì da una precisa volontà satirica.I politici discutono continuamente di consenso, elezioni, prestigio personale e lotte interne mentre decine di ostaggi rischiano la vita. Le mogli credono agli indovini, si convincono di assurde profezie sulle "tredici vergini" e prendono decisioni completamente scollegate dalla realtà.
Sono scene volutamente grottesche, e molte finali ricordano un po' i codici teatrali del teatro dell'assurdo.
La serie sembra suggerire che il vero potere non sia solo crudele, ma anche profondamente ridicolo. È una satira feroce dell'élite politica.

La sceneggiatura ambiziosa 📓

Ho apprezzato molto l'idea generale. L'intreccio politico è decisamente più ambizioso della media dei drama romantici. Le alleanze cambiano continuamente, nessuno è realmente innocente e tutti sembrano disposti a sacrificare qualcun altro pur di sopravvivere. Mi è piaciuto anche il modo in cui alcuni dettagli vengono seminati con largo anticipo.

Ad esempio il custode apparentemente innocuo, mostra fin dai primi episodi elementi che fanno sospettare un ruolo molto più importante. Sono piccoli indizi che invitano lo spettatore più attento a formulare ipotesi.

Dove la sceneggiatura perde credibilità 🙂‍↕️

Nonostante l'ottima idea di fondo, la serie presenta alcune scelte narrative che mi hanno convinta poco.
La prima riguarda il rapimento del professor Han. Successivamente viene rivelato che Su-ho conosce già la situazione del figlio del professore e può usare questa informazione per convincerlo a collaborare. Questo rende il precedente tentativo di rapimento molto meno convincente, perché il ricatto psicologico appare una strategia decisamente più efficace e meno rischiosa rispetto a un'operazione armata con morti e feriti.

Un altro punto debole riguarda Tae-dong.
Nel momento in cui decide di tornare in Corea del Nord per salvare la sorella, il ragionamento mi è sembrato poco coerente.Sa perfettamente che gli agenti falliti vengono eliminati e conosce troppi segreti per essere lasciato vivere. La serie aveva già spiegato che, morendo come martire durante la missione, la sua famiglia sarebbe stata protetta. Di conseguenza il suo ritorno appare una scelta meno logica e meno sicura rispetto al sacrificio immediato.

E tanti altre soluzioni mi sono sembrate logicamente poco plausibili. Ci sono poi alcuni momenti in cui il realismo fisico viene completamente sacrificato. Ferite gravissime vengono superate con una facilità difficilmente credibile, personaggi in condizioni disperate continuano a combattere come se nulla fosse e alcune scene sembrano appartenere più al melodramma che al thriller.

Il romance è la parte meno riuscita 🖤

È proprio qui che la serie, secondo me, mostra il suo limite principale. Non sono riuscita a percepire una reale chimica tra i protagonisti. Il problema non è tanto l'idea dell'amore impossibile, quanto la sua costruzione. Molte svolte emotive mi sono sembrate poco preparate, senza un percorso reale che porti da A a C, si salta il passaggio intermedio.

Il rapporto tra Su-ho e Young-ro viene spesso raccontato attraverso rallenty, primi piani, musica romantica e lunghe sequenze contemplative, ma raramente ho avuto la sensazione che il loro legame poggiasse su qualcosa. Paradossalmente ho trovato molto più profondo e di spessore il legame con la Dottoressa Kang.
È come se la regia cercasse continuamente di suggerire emozioni che la sceneggiatura avrebbe dovuto costruire con maggiore gradualità.

Interpretazioni 🎭

Anche il cast mi ha lasciato impressioni contrastanti. Jung Hae-in funziona molto meglio nelle scene thriller che in quelle romantiche, è questa la sua cifra ora l'ho capito.

Il suo personaggio acquista spessore quando emergono il conflitto morale, il senso del dovere e la tensione politica. Tra le interpretazioni migliori metto anche Joo, Kang Cheong-ya e Bun-ok ( non è un'attrice di livello ma ho toccato con mano la sua bravura più qui che in lovely runner e altre scempiaggini rom com dove è sempre la stessa). Pur essendo uno dei personaggi che ho detestato di più, è interpretata con sufficiente credibilità da risultare realmente irritante.

Al contrario, molte interpretazioni secondarie mi sono sembrate eccessivamente enfatiche. Politici, mogli e diversi personaggi istituzionali finiscono spesso per sfiorare la caricatura. Per quanto riguarda Jisoo, ho trovato convincente la leggerezza iniziale del personaggio, la tempra, la sua agency, ma decisamente meno efficace la gestione delle scene più drammatiche.

Una storia con un simile peso emotivo avrebbe probabilmente beneficiato di un'interprete con maggiore esperienza. Non ha dato al suo personaggio spessore, agency, credibilità, plausibilità, ha solo, purtroppo devo dare ragione alle varie recensioni qui dentro, PIANTO. Quando apprende di notizie traumatiche piange e corre, pessima, non doveva iniziare con un ruolo così difficile e la regia doveva chiederle qualcosa in più.

ASPETTI TECNICI ( NESSUNO LI HA SPIEGATI, TE LO SPIEGO IO) 🎞️ 🎥

Dal punto di vista tecnico, è una serie di buon livello, ma non sempre la regia riesce a valorizzare il materiale narrativo.La fotografia è elegante e la ricostruzione degli anni Ottanta è molto curata. Gli interni del dormitorio, gli uffici dell'ANSP e gli ambienti istituzionali restituiscono un'estetica coerente e riconoscibile, contribuendo a creare un'identità visiva forte.

La regia alterna con efficacia le sequenze di tensione a momenti più intimi, ma mostra anche alcuni limiti stilistici. In particolare fa un uso molto frequente di primi piani, rallenty e inquadrature estremamente ravvicinate degli occhi e dei volti. In alcuni casi questa scelta funziona e amplifica il conflitto interiore dei personaggi; in altri, invece, appare più come un esercizio di stile che come una reale esigenza narrativa. Alcune inquadrature sembrano ricercare l'impatto estetico senza aggiungere nuove informazioni.
Quando invece si passa ai momenti passati dei personaggi il formato pellicola cambia, fateci caso.
Se vi chiedete perché vi sono tre ragioni plausibili per la modifica del rapporto d'aspetto (aspect ratio): l'immagine si restringe lateralmente, dando la sensazione di diventare più "quadrata". Inoltre cambia anche la resa dell'immagine, che appare leggermente più morbida e con una grana diversa.

Lo scopo è segnalare immediatamente allo spettatore che siamo in un altro tempo narrativo, senza bisogno di didascalie tipo "tre anni prima". È un linguaggio cinematografico: appena cambia il formato, il cervello capisce che è un ricordo o un evento passato.

Il secondo scopo , secondo me, è evocare la memoria. Un formato più stretto richiama inconsciamente fotografie, vecchie pellicole, filmati d'epoca. Dà ai ricordi un carattere più intimo e "chiuso", quasi come se fossero incorniciati.

Il terzo riguarda il significato psicologico. Il presente, girato in widescreen, appare più aperto e caotico; il passato, invece, è più ristretto, come se il personaggio fosse imprigionato nel ricordo. È una metafora visiva piuttosto elegante.

Paradossalmente, a volte, nelle scene in cui sarebbe stato utile soffermarsi maggiormente sulle espressioni degli attori, la regia sceglie spesso di non farlo, lasciando alcune emozioni soltanto suggerite invece che realmente vissute. Molte scene riprendono il personaggio visto di spalle o da angolature particolari, questo corrisponde ad una scelta estetica e ad un sottotesto: guardarsi le spalle, il personaggio è minaccioso , ambiguo, non ha buone intenzioni.

Anche il montaggio risente della durata complessiva della serie. Molte sequenze risultano dilatate oltre il necessario e alcune trattative si protraggono per diversi episodi, con una fisiologica perdita di tensione narrativa. Personalmente ritengo che un hostage thriller di questo tipo avrebbe tratto beneficio da una durata più contenuta.

La colonna sonora accompagna con discrezione la narrazione senza risultare particolarmente memorabile. I brani orchestrali utilizzati durante le fasi thriller funzionano e sostengono efficacemente la suspense.


Nel complesso assegno alla regia 8/10: elegante dal punto di vista visivo e tecnicamente solida, ma talvolta troppo compiaciuta nella forma e poco incisiva nel raccontare le emozioni.

Non perché lo consideri un capolavoro privo di difetti. Anzi. E' eccessivamente lungo , diluito e la visione mi è risultata spesso faticosa, non l'ho divorato e alcuni episodi mi hanno annoiata, ho persino premuto il tasto avanti nelle scene romantiche, mi sono sembrate un voltafaccia improvviso. Il problema di questo lavoro è che segue troppo la sceneggiatura: riesci proprio a vedere che ogni personaggio ha una funzione anche se le evoluzioni non vengono mostrate e la protagonista non ne ha nessuna. Quello che intendo dire è che gli eventi sono messi lì anche se non sono plausibili o scelte credibili in quel momento, deve accadere e basta e va bene così. E' un limite grosso per una serie che mostra dei buoni valori di produzione: una scenografia molto fedele e curata al periodo storico cui si riferisce.
Il romance non mi ha coinvolta, alcune motivazioni narrative mi sono sembrate deboli e diverse interpretazioni avrebbero potuto essere molto più incisive.

Eppure credo che il valore dell'opera stia altrove. Nella rappresentazione del potere. Nella satira politica.
Nel modo in cui ogni personaggio, dal presidente fino alla centralinista del dormitorio, tenta continuamente di imporsi su qualcuno più debole.

È questa la vera intuizione del lavoro, ed è proprio questa intuizione, più della storia d'amore, ad avermi convinta ad alzare il voto finale.

A darker story that deserved a stronger ending

A contract killer x cop is such an unusual setup for a BL, and that’s exactly what pulled me in from the first episode. The darker atmosphere, the mystery, and the constant tension between the two leads immediately caught my attention, and their chemistry made every scene together worth watching. Unfortunately, as the story went on, I felt like the writing didn’t fully take advantage of such an interesting premise. Tae Jeong often made impulsive decisions that were hard to believe coming from a police officer, and after a while it became more frustrating than compelling to watch. Seo I Do’s emotional journey was one of the highlights for me, even if his change of heart sometimes felt a little too sudden. My biggest disappointment, though, was the finale. The last episode was incredibly rushed, major conflicts were wrapped up far too quickly, and a few plot developments simply didn’t make much sense, leaving the ending without the emotional impact it should have had. Even with those flaws, I still really enjoyed the series because it dared to do something different from the usual BL formula, and I only wish the execution had been as strong as the idea behind it.

who is CRUSH ?

A crush is rarely about the person standing in front of us. It's about the version of them we've created in our minds.

When the idealized image disappears, you're left with a choice: walk away because they aren't who you imagined, or stay because you've finally met who they truly are.

A crush is loving an illusion. Love is embracing reality.

That's what made this drama so meaningful to me. Beneath its romance lies a gentle reminder that genuine relationships aren't built on perfection—they're built on accepting each other's imperfections, choosing each other after the rose-colored glasses come off.

Sweet coming-of-age tale

I honestly went into this expecting a B-grade teenage rom-com but this turned out better than I expected.

The premise of My Future You is when two teens meet by accident online only to eventually realise that they're existing 15 years apart. Of course, the usual Back To The Future style mishaps ensue.

The dialogue is pretty cheesy, the acting is hit and miss, and the romantic ending feels a little...off. However, the strength of this movie lies in the FL's coming-of-age scenes which happen around the climax of the storyline. These are incredibly heartfelt and reflect are well-written plot structure.

This was a nice way to pass a Saturday evening while doing chores.

A beautiful mix of emotions, mystery, and unforgettable moments ✨

I absolutely loved Notes from the Last Row. The story was emotional, mysterious, and so beautifully written that it kept me attached from the very first episode. Every character felt meaningful, especially the professor’s story and the hidden emotions connected to the past. The suspense and emotional scenes were perfectly balanced, and the acting made everything feel real and deep.

This drama gave me chills, sadness, and excitement all at the same time. The plot twists were amazing, and the emotional connection between the characters stayed in my mind even after finishing it. Definitely a drama worth watching.
