Heaven can wait (tra buonismo, sentimentalismo e stereotipi)- alla ricerca di lacrime facili.

A volte la Corea ci prova a parlare di argomenti pesanti e introdurre riflessioni esistenziali che lasciano un senso di pace e intensità del vivere e sentire, è così nel caso di my mister che devo ancora vedere ma di cui tutti mi parlano come di un capolavoro, è così in "quando la vita ti dà mandarini "," come i fiori sulla sabbia" e diversi healing drama che pur non perfetti ti lasciano pace.
Tuttavia spesso si arrovella e "stramazza a terra avvolto tra i suoi stessi fili" quando prova a inserire elementi fantasiosi per stratificare la trama o quando ricorre alle malattie raccontate per stereotipi.
Diciamolo chiaramente: heaven can wait ottiene punteggi alti perché parla di argomenti pesanti quali disabilità, lutto, solitudine, traumi irrisolti, con tatto e delicatezza ma non in modo troppo convincente. La sensazione è quella che voglia far commuovere ad ogni costo e nello sforzo lo spettatore percepisce distanza e non si immedesima al punto tale da esserne conquistato, sia per lo schema ripetitivo che per la caratterizzazione stereotipata dell'autistico, una tipologia di soggetti con i quali ho lavorato per molti anni, e un centinaio ne ho visti, per questo forse noto qualcosa che stride, tanto, troppo.
L'attore bravo ma è un esecutore , non un interprete, non ha dato quel taglio personale, non mi ha fatto sentire la persona dietro l'attore.

Move to Heaven ha un tema fortissimo, addirittura prezioso: disabilità, lutto, solitudine, traumi rimossi, famiglie rotte, vite invisibili. Il problema è che li tratta con tatto solo in apparenza, perché nello sforzo di risultare toccante finisce spesso per diventare prevedibile, didascalica, costruita. La sensazione non è di essere coinvolti dentro un dolore autentico ma di assistere a una macchina narrativa che vuole ottenere la nostra commozione ad ogni costo. E quando il meccanismo si vede, la distanza aumenta invece di diminuire.

A questo si aggiunge una struttura ripetitiva che, alla lunga, pesa: caso, oggetto, rivelazione, catarsi. Ogni episodio sembra chiedere allo spettatore di accettare la stessa traiettoria emotiva con minime variazioni. Il risultato è che l’intensità non cresce davvero, e quando la serie prova ad alzare la posta con elementi più drammatici o con sottotrame laterali, invece di stratificarsi tende ad arrotolarsi su se stessa.

Il punto che a me sembra più delicato, però, è il personaggio autistico. Non perché non esistano persone autistiche con comportamenti di ritiro, rigidità, autoaggressività o crisi interne: esistono eccome. Il punto è come tutto questo viene messo in scena. Per chi ha lavorato a lungo con soggetti autistici, soprattutto non verbali, certe cose stonano subito: non tanto la singola crisi in sé, quanto la sua coreografia, la sua “posa”, il modo in cui il corpo viene disposto nello spazio per significare al pubblico “guardate quanto soffre”. E lì non è la realtà del comportamento che manca, è la naturalezza della sua incarnazione. Sembra una costruzione vista da fuori, non una persona che abita davvero quella condizione.

Anche sul piano attoriale l’attore è bravo, controllato, preciso, ma resta più un esecutore che un interprete. Fa funzionare la scena, la pulisce, la rende leggibile. Però non arriva fino a quel punto in cui ti dimentichi la recitazione e senti soltanto la persona. E quando manca quella vibrazione, tutto il resto si vede di più: il sentimentalismo, la semplificazione psicologica, la rapidità con cui certe ferite si trasformano in redenzione, la troppo facile bontà che finisce per sembrare buonismo.

Anche lo zio, che all’inizio entra come un concentrato di egoismo, incuria e caos, viene agganciato all’attività del nipote in modo troppo brusco , 10 minuti prima gli fumava accanto gettandogli il fumo in faccia e spegnendo mozziconi sul parquet. La sua evoluzione, invece di sembrare conquistata, a tratti sembra assegnata. E lo stesso vale per alcune reazioni emotive dei personaggi secondari: colpi di scena affettivi, riconciliazioni improvvise, commozioni che arrivano prima che lo spettatore abbia davvero sentito il peso di ciò che sta succedendo. È questo mi fa diffidare: non il fatto che la serie parli di cose importanti, ma il modo un po’ furbo con cui cerca di fartele sentire.

Move to Heaven spesso chiede allo spettatore di accettare trasformazioni emotive molto rapide perché il tema è nobile. E siccome non concedo questo "credito morale", perchè non lo sento, alcune scene mi sono apparse artificiose.

Prendiamo Sang-gu, lo zio: nei primi episodi viene introdotto come una specie di delinquente egoista e aggressivo. In una narrazione realistica, uno così non passa dall'invadere casa altrui e fumare addosso al nipote a collaborare quasi immediatamente nell'attività. La serie salta parecchi passaggi psicologici.
Sul ragazzo autistico (Geu-ru), diversi professionisti che lavorano con persone autistiche hanno fatto notare che il personaggio è costruito in modo molto funzionale alla trama: osserva, cataloga, ricorda dettagli. È quasi un dispositivo narrativo che permette di ricostruire le vite dei defunti. Questo non significa che sia una rappresentazione offensiva, ma può sembrare meno spontanea e meno individuale di persone autistiche reali.

L'episodio del pigiama , nell'episodio 3, è probabilmente il migliore esempio del perchè questa serie non funziona.

La logica della serie è:

- figlio egoista;
-scoperta di un oggetto simbolico;
-rivelazione del sacrificio della madre;
-catarsi.

La logica realistica invece sarebbe:

- anni di trascuratezza;
-senso di colpa complesso;
-resistenze;
-negazione;
- elaborazione lenta.

La serie comprime tutto in 5 minuti dove scena dove non è plausibile che un figlio incurante come quello si commuova quando vede e ricorda, e comprende il sacrificio della madre perché non gli è bastato vedere le condizioni disumane e abbandoniche in cui è morta per provocargli un briciolo di trasporto e dispiacere, poi vede il pigiama e puff dispiacere e mutazione improvvisa , cambio di stato emotivo... non me la bevo! Non è che la scena sia impossibile. È che la velocità della trasformazione appare costruita per ottenere la commozione dello spettatore.

Sui combattimenti clandestini è una sottotrama che serve principalmente a dare a Sang-gu un conflitto esterno e a evitare che la serie diventi una successione di funerali e ricordi. Però il tono che ne consegue è strano: da una parte meditazione sulla morte, dall'altra debiti, picchiatori e gabbie da MMA. Molti l'hanno accettato perché interessati al passato dello zio; io l'ho trovato un elemento quasi di disturbo, ma questa è una mia soggettiva valutazione.

Dal settimo episodio la serie compie un piccolo salto di qualità. Le storie acquistano maggiore intensità emotiva e la scrittura riesce finalmente a dare più spessore ai personaggi, evitando in parte quella sensazione di ripetitività presente nella prima metà. Alcuni momenti mi hanno sinceramente commossa, soprattutto quando l'emozione nasce in modo spontaneo e non viene forzata attraverso espedienti melodrammatici. A fare davvero la differenza è l'interpretazione di Sang-gu: il personaggio dello zio porta sullo schermo una gamma emotiva molto più ampia rispetto agli altri protagonisti, alternando durezza, ironia e vulnerabilità con grande naturalezza. È l'unico che riesce a distinguersi dando profondità anche alle scene più semplici. Pur riconoscendo questi evidenti meriti e il miglioramento della seconda parte, continuo però a considerare *Move to Heaven* un'opera nel complesso sopravvalutata. Ne apprezzo il messaggio umano e alcuni episodi particolarmente riusciti, ma non credo raggiunga il livello di eccellenza che un 9,1 le attesta.
Credo che il motivo delle valutazioni altissime sia che molti spettatori giudicano Move to Heaven soprattutto per il tema e per l'intenzione umanistica. Io invece guardo: plausibilità psicologica, evoluzione dei personaggi, qualità recitativa, coerenza tonale.
Esistono opere che parlano della morte e riescono a lasciare qualcosa di duraturo dentro lo spettatore. Penso, ad esempio, a Will Love in Spring, una serie capace di raccontare il dolore, la perdita e la disabilità con una delicatezza e una profondità rare. Lì i personaggi non sembrano costruiti per trasmettere un messaggio: sono persone. Vivono, sbagliano, desiderano, soffrono. E proprio attraverso la loro umanità emerge una riflessione sulla vita e sulla morte che continua a risuonare molto tempo dopo la visione. È una di quelle opere che non si limitano a commuovere: modificano il modo in cui guardiamo certe esperienze. Nel mio caso, ha contribuito a rendere più sereno e consapevole il mio rapporto con la morte.

In Move to Heaven, invece, ho spesso avuto la sensazione opposta. Non vedevo le persone, vedevo la sceneggiatura. Dietro molte situazioni emotive si percepisce il meccanismo narrativo che cerca di guidare lo spettatore verso la commozione. Il risultato è che, anziché immedesimarmi, finivo per osservare l'impalcatura che reggeva la scena. Forse è per questo che faccio fatica a condividere l'entusiasmo quasi unanime che circonda la serie. Non perché i temi trattati non siano importanti, ma perché l'importanza di un tema non basta a rendere grande un'opera. Una serie può parlare di morte senza insegnarci nulla sulla vita, così come può commuoverci senza lasciarci davvero qualcosa dentro.

Le opere migliori non si limitano a far versare una lacrima. Restano. Cambiano prospettiva. Aprono uno spazio di riflessione che continua anche dopo i titoli di coda. E, per quanto Move to Heaven abbia momenti sinceri e una sensibilità apprezzabile, non ho mai avuto la sensazione che riuscisse davvero a raggiungere quella profondità.
In tutto questo avevo appena terminato The Wonderfools e, pur riconoscendone i limiti, mi è rimasta addosso la naturalezza di un personaggio che sulla carta rischiava di diventare una macchietta (Kang Ro-bin), nominato il babbeo , che davvero è stato naturale e realistico nella sua interpretazione.

In conclusione, la serie ottiene voti altissimi perché tocca temi grandi e lo fa con una certa delicatezza formale, ma non sempre con la profondità o la credibilità che promette. Ha una sua tenerezza, sì, ma spesso la tenerezza è più dichiarata che vissuta. E quando uno spettatore ha esperienza diretta di certe realtà, soprattutto con l’autismo, lo scarto lo vedo subito.
Il mio voto è 7 per la resa, mezzo punto per l'intenzione e i valori di produzione: ost non memorabile ma ottima scenografia, fotografia e belle le riprese dall'alto, a livello di produzione è fatta discretamente, pertanto si merita un discreto anche se non è un lavoro che nel complesso rimane impresso.

Vorrei sottolineare il dato, quasi scandaloso, che questa serie ha un 0,1 in più rispetto a Crash Landing on you, capolavoro in termini di ost, sensibilità, regia e doti interpretative dei protagonisti, tra cui anche l'attore protagonista Ge-ru (era anche lì ma con ruolo di supporto). Ve lo lascio come spunto di riflessione... .

No end to love

We need a special episode because this drama was amazing. The concept was unique and emotional. The love story between the two main characters felt natural, sincere, and realistic. The acting was outstanding, and every actor did a great job portraying their emotions. The director presented the story beautifully, and the chemistry between the leads was excellent. The drama showed the true meaning of love, trust, and sacrifice. Every episode kept me interested, and the ending left a strong impression on me. Thank you to the cast and crew for bringing such a wonderful story to life. I highly recommend this drama to everyone.

Story line is great!I love how the ML really loved her and did everything for her. ML played his part very well!!! FL really pissed me off throughout the drama. Not once did I hear her ever said that she loved him. Even when he was about to die, for saving her she showed the bare minimum the end was so disappointed .

Sorry but this was a waste of time. I liked it until episode 3 and then it started to get boring. I hated a lot of things. I keep thinking if they had kept the original trailer version would that have been better? Gmmtv come on I know you can do better than this. I love all the actors but with these actors you would think they could do much better acting.

Different yet Similar - in love and life

I was looking for a drama that is more realistic, away from the soul-swapping, time-travelling and webtoon genre. This drama is not really for entertainment, but rather more of reflection into our own relationships - whether romantic, brotherly, friendly or even family.

The drama took us slowly into the encounter of two artists - one a painter and the other an actress. Jinwoo had lots of past hurts which he overcame despite being deaf. He knows he can be misunderstood for being unable to communicate verbally. Moeun on the other hand has a loving family, though she kept a little scar of her past. Both of them, despite of what challenges they face as lovers tried to understand each other.

There are many parts of the drama that seem to be confusing till we figure out that they are a few days or weeks in the past. Perhaps it is the way of the writer to fill in what was missing in the previous episode. The gentleness of Jinwoo gives us the vibe of a peaceable man, a man who had accepted who he was and not live according to it. We can feel that Moeun is the first one who expressed her heart which really touched Jinwoo.

The drama gave us some conflicts but not so dramatic. Overall, it is calming and peaceful. We do not see petty arguments between Jinwoo and Moeun, that even their break-up was sort of peaceful though hurting. The people surrounding them were so sympathetic and caring, which I think all of us would need the same when we are going through certain struggles in life.

The last part seems to be the beginning, but this time, they know how to face life and love together. As you watch this drama, try to reflect on your own relationships - with parents, siblings, lovers and even friends. We may think people with disabilities are struggling, but actually those without are struggling even more. We should learn to empathize and to care with those different from us, actually there are so many similarities too.

I doubt I could enjoy this absolute nonsensical mess even after a lobotomy

Started with the novel, at first I enjoyed it due that it was very detailed to paint a world, customs of those who lived back then and hence creating a feeling of reality. However I dropped the novel around 100 chapters as was fed up with the nonsense of the 16 years old FL - who lived once - just to explain how she could collect that level of knowledge she had and the made up crisis after crisis scenes.

Still I was eagerly waiting for the series hoping that they corrected the weakness of the drama a bit. But the complete opposite, they managed to create an even more nonsensical mess. I love Bai Lu, one of my favourite Chinese actress, especially after Story of Kunning Palace where I hardly found any boring part (except the part when she said goodbye to her mother), that drama the script, the actors, the music - was super and I rewatch from time to time.
I also a huge fan of Cheng Lei since My Journey to You then because of the Shadow Love which also had some nonsensical parts but being a drama where the focus was on black magic and romance it was decent enough, especially their romance part.

But this one... I just black out from time to time, too often losing minutes and starting again, trying to watch then being "far away" again. I can't even enjoy their romance because the full story is absolutely poorly written, make-no-sense, unbelievable mess.

Is everyone insane in this script or idiot? Why the writer(s), probably AI, had to involve ghosts? They made no sense and if I want a ghost story I go for a more sophisticated one written by S. King or similar. What is the purpose of the monkeys apart from being another horrorish element?
Who is her imaginary maid, did she live or was jut an imagination? Is FL insane and should be in an alyssum together with his father, granny, etc?

Since when elderly rich, powerful nobility woman go after their opponent (following the person to who knows where afar) just to suffocate it with a pillow using physical strength? How often you saw that bad people was struck by lightning? How often you saw a ghost if you are not drunk or insane?

But let's assume you are really terrified and possessed by a ghost while others watching you, you pass out then 5 minutes later take part in the family gathering, totally composed and recovered from the shock.

and so on and so on. Not to mention the unnecessary dark symbolism like exactly 999 of who-knows-what gold flower to satisfy the (based on the number) a satanic deity or similar.

I am sorry I am fed up. Terrible series.

nothing standard though nothing special

We have here a non-standard Korean family drama. It is non-standard because none of the typical Korean trops are present and because it displays a critical view on some parts of the current Korean social problems. It has a slightly psychological and social note, yet nothing is excessive or too strong. The comedy part is also very refrained, in my opinion it was intentionally kept like this. After a slow start (that matches well the remaining of the story), I had the feeling that the story is written with very much love . As usual, camera work and direction are highly professional. The best are the actors, very experienced ones but also the fresh ones are doing an excellent work, even if they do not get much air time. I would be very glad to see soon again the smile of Choi Gyu Ri in a main role.

I can imagine that, due to the reserved tone, non-standard themes and absence of the hyped actors, the ratings would remain a lot under the true value of this good work.

Slice of Comedy

I really enjoyed the movie. It was light, warm, and had just the right touch of comedy that made it very easy to watch. I truly had a great time watching it. The young girl’s performance stood out the most for me she acted so naturally and beautifully. Her portrayal of managing relationship with her fathers girlfriend throughout the film was nicely done. I also liked the way the kids made the movie fun. 10/10 fun watch.

Not worth your time

Dropped at episode 3.
Low-quality drama. The production is actually alright, but standard. The acting is what you'd expect from a low-tier J-drama.
The storyline is stereotypically banal, but what's worse are the characters: the second ML is complete and utter trash; the ML should stick to modeling (also, what's with that hair), and the FL's character is...backboneless as always.

I don't mind the 'accidental pregnancy' plot, but there are far better shows than this.

Immersive and toxic black flag fest

This drama deserves a 10/10 rating, but I refuse to give it. Because there is 1 HUGE flaw and I will adress it at the start. Lu Feng rapes Yi Chen multiple times. Once in the first few episodes and more than once when Lu Feng imprisons Yi Chen. The rapes are not explicit, only suggested but it's clear it happened. And because I don't believe it's in any way enhancing the story I will not rate it 10/10.

The story is not even what makes this drama so good. It's the acting and the chemistry between the actors. But about that later. Let's talk about the story first. It's a classic "big strong popular guy falls for nerdy weak boy" Both of them are from important rich families and have a reputation to protect. In china this means not being gay, get married to a good match and have children to please your parents. Despite the Big Love these guys have, they are not able to fight the parental expectations. Lu Feng suffers physical abuse from his father and Yi Chen is being pushed and manipulated into denying his true feelings and not hurting his mother and brother. But as things go with Big Love, it can't be denied for long and things progress between them regardless.

We can see Lu Feng being manipulative while doing whatever he wants from the start. He doesn't really seem to care abour Yi Chens feelings and shows up or stays away whenever he pleases. Never explaining, never apologizing. Whenever Yi Cheng dares to protest, he either physically or mentally pushes him into submission. The way I have screamed at him through the screen...

All this uglyness is always forgiven by Yi Chen, who is the sweetest innocent boy that keeps forgiving and is just too much in love to care about the abuse and toxicity.

Until....

Everything culminates when Yi Chens mother dies after talking to Lu Feng, and at that same day Lu Feng (kind of accidentally) throws Yi Chengs brother from the stairs breaking so many bones he could be crippled for life. This is when they finally break up. But not for good of course, because this is Big And Obsessive Love. From both sides. So they eventually meet again and the toxicity chemistry and love all continue at the same time. As a viewer it was frustrating, confusing and blissful all at once. Lu Feng goes as far as to lock Yi Chen up, because Yi Chen has grown up and won't be manipulated as easily anymore. Even after he releases him, it takes several more outburst of (near) violence before we eventually find out what caused all this lunacy and Lu Feng finally deals with himself in the way that he should and the toxicity ends so that they can have a healthy love.

I could write a million words to describe the feelings this series gave me. I guess it's kind of like base jumping or shark diving. You know you could die, but you do it anyway for the adrenaline. Never in my real life would I accept a relationship like this. I mean, run like the wind in the other direction. But in a romance drama? With this acting and chemistry? Yes please.

Good at first

The show started out good
and when everything was revealed toward the end I thought that Talay and his parents would get some sort of punishment. Everyone just acted like nothing happened. It makes me so mad that they never actually tried to reunite him with his mom after she showed up. I don’t understand why Talays friends were so okay with the fact that he kidnapped someone and helped brainwash him. The ending made me so mad. I don’t understand why they did all that toward the end only to do literally nothing with it. It was so good until they ruined it.

Well...It was confusing.........................AND 100% NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!

Okay, so I watched this drama because of FortPeat and I think I was expecting something else. There were many things I didn't like:
The timeline was very messy and did NOT make sense at all.
Kelvin's idea of revenge and betraying Vier made me throw my ipad across the room.
Kelvin being the cause of Lalit's death made me hate Kelvin even more.
And the fact that Kelvin never loved Vier led me onto the verge of tears.
And was there the need for a GL couple? No.
And that therapist doctor guy who was Lalyn's brother, uh YES 100% a jerk for helping Ken.
So overall, the whole drama 100% did NOT make me impressed and was a big flop. Completely didn't expect this from FortPeat and let me be the first to say that it was the worst FortPeat drama I've watched.

Decent feel-good watch but fell short of expectations

If you are looking for a completely breezy and fluff drama, this is a nice overall pick. But honestly, I expected way too much from it and it failed to deliver. Compared to other youth romances it felt pretty mid and lacked the emotional pull to keep me fully engaged, making it feel boring at times.

Also a huge missed opportunity: Gu Ran and Jiang Jia. I really wanted to see their relationship fleshed out, but we were given way too little of their story. It is perfectly fine if you just want pure sunshine vibes but if you want something with a bit more depth and satisfying side-character arcs, this one misses the target.

Not a storyline that I like

Felt like Air been betrayed by both of her loved ones.
How the scandal started, and both acknowledged it.
Tho, Air maybe intact in a marriage but we understand how she fought for it.
Prefer Pure and Loft to be open and let her know, instead of hid it until it bloomed and hurt Air.
A bit unfair to start.
Skipped many episodes and love scenes of Pure and Loft since i couldn't watched the betrayal.
LOL, only can said all main leads acted good and nail to the characters!

Dazzling Isn't Just a Love Story—It's About Finding Home, Family, and the Courage to Dream Again.

Honestly, I started Dazzling because of Li Yunrui. Having watched his previous works, I already knew he was a talented actor, and I was excited to see him return to a modern drama. My expectations were high, but somehow he still exceeded them. As Xing Wu, he completely disappeared into the character. Whether it was the blond hair, black hair, or glasses look, I never felt like I was watching Li Yunrui playing a role—I was watching Xing Wu.

One thing I loved about this drama was how subtle the characters were. They were not overly dramatic or loud with their emotions. I know some viewers felt that Guan Xiaotong's Qing Ye was expressionless at times, but that actually worked for me. Not everyone wears their heart on their sleeve. Her reactions felt natural and grounded.

At the beginning, Qing Ye could be frustrating. However, I completely understood where she was coming from. She grew up in a very different environment, and suddenly fate placed her in Zhazhating, where everything—from the people to the standard of living—was unfamiliar. Her struggles to adapt felt realistic rather than annoying. What made her journey beautiful was watching her slowly embrace the place she once wanted to escape. Over time, Zhazhating became more than a temporary stop; it became home. More importantly, it gave her something she had been missing all her life: a sense of family and belonging.

Xing Wu's growth was equally compelling. Initially, he saw Qing Ye as a spoiled princess, judging her based on her behavior. But as he got to know her, he became more understanding and patient. He recognized how difficult her adjustment was and quietly did everything he could to make her feel comfortable. Xing Wu was refreshingly kind and dependable (a green forest). He carried the burdens of his family in silence, sacrificing his own dreams to support the people around him. Watching him constantly put himself last was heartbreaking. Qing Ye became the person who reminded him that his dreams mattered too and encouraged him to pursue them.

The relationship between Xing Wu and Qing Ye was really special. Their bond felt genuine because it was built on understanding, support, and growth rather than grand gestures. They helped each other become better versions of themselves.

An interesting character was Xing Wu's mother. She was both fascinating and frustrating. It was clear that she loved her son, yet many of her decisions were immature and irresponsible. Time and time again, Xing Wu was forced to bear the consequences of her mistakes. There were moments when it felt as though he was the parent and she was the child. Despite how irritating she could be, she remained one of the drama's most memorable characters.

My favorite line in the entire drama was when Xing Wu told Qing Ye, "You move forward and I'll catch up to you." To me, this line perfectly captures who Xing Wu is. He knew how difficult their circumstances were. Qing Ye already belonged to a dazzling world, while he was burdened by responsibilities that made reaching her seem almost impossible. Yet he never gave up. He kept moving forward, working harder, and fighting to close the distance between them. It was not just a romantic line—it was a promise, and Xing Wu meant every word of it.

Overall, Dazzling is a drama that touched me deeply. It tells a story about finding family, chasing dreams, understanding people beyond first impressions, and supporting the ones you love. Combined with strong performances—especially from Li Yunrui—and beautifully written character development, it became one of my favorite dramas. For me, it is an easy 10/10.
