My favorite couple !!!
Rewatching this drama for the umpteenth time after watching the Dokkaebi 10th-anniversary special.I’ve watched many of Lee Dong-wook’s dramas, and he shares the best chemistry with Lee Da-hae and Yoo In-na. I’ve loved this couple ever since they played the secondary couple in the Dokkaebi.
They have great chemistry and are adorable. I was really excited when the drama's trailer came out and looked forward to watching it every week. That anticipation paid off with their excellent performances, the story might be a bit tedious for some people, since there were so many "sugar" scenes right from the start.
However, the director handled the conflict and the final resolution well, resulting in a great ending for the drama. I hope to see them act together as a couple again in another drama.

Mild spoiler
I watched this drama until episode 6, but I couldn't continue. The cases don't even make sense—they were winning only because the plot made them win. Forget about the cases; the female lead is utterly delusional. She always tries to play the hero of justice by taking cases without any proper reasoning.
In one of the cases, she refuses to believe the gossip surrounding the victim, Maya, yet she believes the gossip that the male lead took bribes. That felt very hypocritical to me.
I decided to watch this drama because of the male lead. I already liked him, and I think his role in this drama is perfect. However, I just can't find the chemistry between the male and female leads interesting. I actually prefer the chemistry between the male lead and his ex.
I especially stopped watching because of the female lead. If she had been written a little better, I might have liked the drama.
Of course, other people may have different opinions about this drama, and that's perfectly fine. I'm not going to continue watching it. I'm sorry in advance if my review hurts anyone's feelings.

More than friends less than lovers
I used to be an avid hater of when I’m promised a queer romance but instead get nothing but subtlety and no indication of love whatsover. Countries like these often censor queer love especially with big name actors like Taecyeon.I didn’t know what to expect going into this, and I read a couple of comments on it, where people said it’s just pure queerbait— so I decided to avoid it.
But the more the show popped up on my timeline on netflix, the more curious I got.
I didn’t see much promotion on this show, hell I didn’t even see many edits either. So I really went in blind.
The beginning started, and from the getgo they made sure you know what the genre of this show will be. It IS a queer story, and it did not hide it.
It might not fall under the BL category but it most definitely is a love story. One that doesn’t need an explicit kiss to show that it’s romantic.
The main characters kept showing their love, and confessing in the most beautiful ways. Everything that they’ve done for each other, is a love confession.
This is one of the most beautiful shows I’ve watched…I cried so much; my heart still hurts, but that’s how you know it’s a well done show. Amazing performances by the actors, every episode captivated me. So much rawness and pain, yet the most beautiful love story came out of it.
Amazing show. I’ll remember it forever.

A Story Where Friendship Outshined Romance(For me)
I wouldn't call The Eternal Fragrance the best drama of 2026, but it was definitely a decent watch. Like most dramas, it had its own strengths and weaknesses. What surprised me the most was that I ended up loving the friendship far more than the romance between the main leads. I really wish the bond between the six friends hadn't fallen apart. Their time together, especially in Qingqiu, was filled with some of the most precious and heartwarming moments in the drama.Starting with Lifei, I absolutely loved her character in the beginning. She was carefree, cheerful, and lived without carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. However, after she gained power and following the Lu brother's incident, she gradually became more reserved and complicated. I understand why her character changed, but I wish her transformation had been executed differently. If she had evolved from a carefree girl into a confident, fearless "baddie," I think it would've felt more satisfying. Instead, I felt like something was missing from her characterization—some of the fragrance(iykyk)
As for Xiuyuan, the man spent half the drama completely lovesick. Song Weilong did a great job portraying him. There were moments where Xiuyuan felt emotionally restrained, but those scenes were balanced out by others where his emotions came through beautifully. What I appreciated most about his character was his sense of responsibility. Even after becoming the Demon Lord, he prioritized his people by sending the demon clan back to their homeland before facing the Sea Calamity himself.
Then we have Tongzhou... honestly, I don't even know where to begin. Watching him go from righteous to completely wicked was frustrating. It would've been wonderful if the six of them had remained friends until the end. I genuinely felt sorry for him when his brother, his uncle, and his kingdom fell apart. But after everything he chose to do afterward, all my sympathy disappeared. His obsession with Lifei became unbearable, especially after discovering she was the Divine Tree. He never truly moved on and kept hurting everyone around him because of that obsession. In my opinion, he deserved neither Lifei nor Miaoqing. Honestly, he and Lanya would've made the perfect wicked couple.
Now for my favorite character—Gelin. She completely stole my heart. She looked absolutely stunning throughout the drama, but beyond that, I loved her personality. She wasn't the strongest or the most powerful character, yet she always knew the difference between right and wrong. She stayed true to herself despite everything happening around her. I was so happy that she eventually found the person she loved and received the happy ending she deserved. It was heartbreaking, though, that she spent a decade not knowing her sister and Ye Ye had died. Out of everyone, I loved her friendship with Lifei the most—it felt genuine, comforting, and unwavering.
As for Changyue and Ye Ye, I never connected with them as deeply as some of the other characters, but their deaths were genuinely heartbreaking. If the writers had decided to kill them, I honestly think there could've been a better scenario than having them die at Tongzhou's hands. Part of me still wonders if things could've been different had Ye Ye listened to Changyue when she sensed something was wrong with Tongzhou and simply escaped. Maybe they would've survived.
Lu Li was such a supportive gentleman. I absolutely adored his relationship with Gelin. One of my favorite moments was when Gelin said she wanted to stay at the academy, and instead of arguing or forcing his own wishes, he simply chose to stay with her. Considering they were already husband and wife, that quiet understanding between them made their relationship even sweeter. Their dynamic was wholesome, healthy, and honestly one of the cutest couples in the drama.
Then there's Miaoqing. Her sacrifice left me speechless. But I still don't understand why she fell in love with Tongzhou in the first place. Just because someone saves your life doesn't automatically make them the right person to love. Throughout the story, Tongzhou barely acknowledged her as herself. He constantly treated her as a replacement for Lifei. It was only after her death that he seemed to realize how important she truly was to him.
One relationship I also want to mention is Lifei's bond with both of her masters. The master-disciple relationships were written beautifully and became some of the strongest emotional anchors of the drama. Qingcheng's death absolutely broke my heart—I genuinely cried during that scene. It was one of the most emotional moments in the entire series.
As for the romance... I honestly don't have much to say. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the highlight of the drama for me. The main leads spent a large portion of the story apart, so I never felt fully invested in their relationship. Because of that, the emotional payoff didn't hit as hard as it could have. Ironically, I found myself caring far more about the friendships and the individual character journeys than the central love story.
Overall, The Eternal Fragrance was an enjoyable drama with both memorable highs and noticeable flaws. A lot of beloved characters lost their lives, and by the end, only three members of the original friend group remained. Despite everything, I enjoyed the journey. The final scene with Riyan was unexpectedly hilarious. After making me emotional for so many episodes, the drama managed to end by making me laugh. That felt like the perfect way to close the story.

Failed pairing, why repeat?
ML (He Yu) & FL (Meng zi yi) already had mediocre chemistry from Duel on Mount Hua: Nine Yin True Sutra, why pair them up again? It's guaranteed not to be amazing from the start. Not even the word "Blossom" in the title will help.Standard script with predicable story line. However production quality is pretty good. The supporting cast is impressive with lots of familiar actors. Its the main reason why I continue to watch.
Favorite character (so far)
Bu shu lin, actress Fan Shuai Qi is one of those few actresses that can pull off pretending to be a Male. Hopefully she'll get more FL roles in the future.

Creative stories from great production house at that time
The stories are refreshing, recomended to watch until season 2. I rewatched it over and over again, cause this drama has solid story. I watch many Thai movies, but this is my first lakorn, and it was great experience at that time. I like the Win and Kwan chemistry, at that time this couple are hype and they have many fans support them. They even have their own movie just to advertise an app. The OST of this lakorn is also very fitting, performed by bands that were on the rise at that time.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
Feels boring
The story is too simple and usual, it doesn't has any main plot or a good aim to make the film run for. They couldn't bring the story to its justice it feels like very common plot with every other series depicting the same like these. The acting was kinda meh too, even their mothers should have acted more well and with more emotions. The dialogues too should have been more better and apealing but it felt super boring. The story doesn't makes you feel interested and you will eventually be bored,so definitely not a good recommendation.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?

The OST and outfit are masterpiece in that era.
This is the Hallyu drama who make K-drama more famous to the world, this drama promotes Korean culture exceptionally well, packaged beautifully within a romantic comedy story.Every scene is wrapped in stunning visuals, start from the actors' costumes, which blend Korean tradition with modern elements that were remarkably advanced for the era, to the choice of palace settings and cultural details, all complemented by music that perfectly suits every scene. Why were the drama OSTs from those years so good and such a perfect fit? Whenever we hear even a snippet of one of those songs, we instantly recall the specific scene associated with it.

Decent scenario, wasted on visuals-heavy average acting
Beautiful cinematography, interesting plot and worldbuilding, but it all falls flat on the acting - not horrible, not great, simply average. The soundrack is certainly good enough but no song worthy of relistening. Would've been so much better with different actors who could emote and 'sell' their characters properly.Lost my interest and simply stopped watching eventually.

This is the drama that made me fall in love with K-dramas in 2005
By that time, I had already watched several Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dramas. However, it was this particular drama that got me excited and interested in learning more details about other dramas.Even though the story doesn't make sense, how could someone be so naive in that day as to be easily deceived by a close friend, and put up with being yelled at every day by someone they had just met? But Song HyeKyo and Rain make this drama enjoyable to watch thanks to their chemistry and funny interactions. This is also what made me realize that this is indeed a rom-com drama where you don't need to overthink the direction of the story. The interactions between the FL and the ML's family, especially ML grandmother, are absolutely delightful and something I always look forward to.
If you hate red flag men who boss their partners around and yell at them, you probably won't like this drama. The drama might feel drawn out due to repetitive conflicts, yet this is precisely where we see the male lead’s character development as he becomes a better person and grows to cherish the female lead. The female lead also matures throughout the story.
I love this drama so much that I rewatch it almost every year, whenever I listen OST from this drama, I feel an urge to watch it all over again. The soundtrack is masterpiece and brings back fond memories of the past. The fact that it has been remade in several countries is a testament to just how popular the drama was at the time.
This drama is etched in my core memories and will always be one of my all-time favorites.

A Slice of Life
Now that its on netflix, i decided to give it a try.The story is about natsumi, as the stroy progresses we get to know about her character. A person going through a rough patch in her life trying to find her place in the world. The story is all about Natsumi with other characters mostly as background.
This became one of my most favourite watches ever, the characters are self sufficient, the plot if not draggy or too melodramatic at all and it was really nice memorable moments to look back it to. The bond between the brothers is really nice. Each brother has a distinct personality and they are likeable in their own way except for the eldest one.
It also deals with topics such as grief and betrayal. The story wraps up nicely and we get to omurice a bunch of time. Also natsumi is a baddie.

Sex sells...
or so, because most screentime is awarded to nc scenes or stupid banter. Story? Afterthought. There is not really a comprehensible story. How they got to be lovers is just ridicilous. It does also not help when the subtitles are not well done and many jokes are drowned through bad translations.I guess this was just a payday for the actors and they had fun doing something stupid. There are worse things then getting paid for doing something stupid. But overall this was just awful. A series doesn’t always have to take itself seriously, but there was not a story to speak of, the jokes were mostly in poor taste and of the lowest calibre.
And the finale was the usual fanservice. Production quality was ok, but because it was not a DMD production, it was not as good as DMD could have made it. The audio editing was especially poor with many songs often mixed in one scene which does not make sense at all.
Thai's can't do comedy imho. Maybe I need to have a special humor to get it, but even with humor there is no story which could elevate this series. It's just a waste of time and there are more interesting things to watch.
