Assassin X Cop: Lies, Crime and Romance
I didn't even read the plot synopsis before starting this and the story took me by surprise.I've never seen a KBL with this plotline, so I want to call this an unconventional KBL but it is off to a great start for sure.
The acting is good, the romance is building up nicely too, but there's so much tension; I'm eager to see how everything would turn out.
Only four episodes in, and the cliffhanger at the end of the fourth episode will sure have any viewer returning to continue watching.
This is looking really good so far. You should watch it if you haven't started yet.

What a portrayal of a realistic relationship
Having rewatched the series I stand firm in my belief that Joo In Ah and Noh Ki Jun are the most perfect office couple, next to Love Scout's lovey doveys. They felt so real that I could easily picture them inhabiting the same world as I.Now the Audit team 3 functions as a chorus in an ancient greek play, complimenting but never overshadowing the main plot. They are a delight, all different yet similar at the same time. The most weak character of all is the 2ML IMO. He 's always late. And not "better late than sorry". He is the epitome of "too little, too late". He's so weak that at the end he gives the 2FL a redemption choice, which comes off as pity. Thank God the 2FL learnt her lesson, and in an ironic twist of fate, shows more maturity than him and never calls him. The 2FL got a lot of hate during airing, but she is actually really fleshed out. She is every delusional in love person who'd rather see her lover burn that accept defeat. And yet! She is the voice of logic. Yes, she is reason to the 2ML's crazy. She is always reminding him of the futility of his obsession, of the honour of his position, of the responsibility of his actions, of how illogically he behaves. In a very twisted turn of events, she is his conscience, voicing reality loud and clear, while all he does is give in to his self wallowing. "Pity me the rich boy who now has to pay the consequences of his actions". Having said that, the story gets a 9,5 bc l 'd have loved more episodes or a spinoff where the 2ML gets some spank drilled into him by his equally tortured and torturing ex wife. Shades: A GL Drama That Dares to Feel Real
This series really surprised me... I already had expectations because of the plot and the setting "a religious-themed school " but even so, each episode took me to feelings I had missed experiencing in a drama, especially a GL one.That genre is usually driven toward other kinds of sensations: melancholy romance, drama, and familiar tropes, but it doesn’t always reach full emotional complexity.
Shades i feel it doesn’t rely on the usual GL formula; instead, it builds empathy through realistic struggles, personal conflict, and strong performances.
Shades is a completely different color!
From the very first episode, you feel empathy for each one of the main characters, you understand their problems, and you connect with the way they are. They really manage to break through the screen.
This isn't just a GL about romance, families arranging marriages, or situations that border on fiction. Here you see reality... Anyone can identify with something these girls go through at that school and in their personal lives.
Incredible. I need a Season 2!

Morally gray and painfully human.
Not gonna lie, this drama has one of the most misleading synopsis and posters. By all means this is not really a revenge drama, it’s scheming the con artists type of a story. Inflicting pain? Does not really take center stage at all. It felt far more like a constant survival for everyone involved - be it in the present or past timeline, bad or good guys.The biggest highlights of the drama for me were how the story unfolded and how many well delivered plot twists were added. Who is involved, what are their motivations, with whom they align - the writing keeps you on your toes always trying to guess future developments. Are the good guys actually good? Are the bad guys truly that awful? Can a person be both the perpetrator and the victim at the same time? Can a victim turn into a perpetrator?
I also loved how clumsy the female leads were. It just made sense - they are not criminals, they are normal women who got themselves involved in a situation you cannot truly prepare for. They made many mistakes, overlooked certain aspects of their plans. At times it was frustrating, sometimes funny, sometimes scary. Especially with how vile the villains actually were.
As the drama progressed, rather than anyone winning, I just wanted it all to end, for the sake of the victims. Seeing how far they can go, how deeper into unethical ways they drive - it was more sad than freeing and rewarding.
About the villains - let them burn in hell. As awful as they were to watch, the scenes depicting the crimes and how the young girls were treated were truly effective. Just telling me what happened to them would not have even half of the emotional impact on me. Rather than gore that comes from the revenge part of the plot, the abuse in the past timeline is the true horror.
For the good parts, I have to talk about the acting - phenomenal. It's hard to pick my favorite performance. Whenever we talk about the desperation from Wang Hui Chun and Chao Ching, egocentrism driven by the will to survive in Chang Shih Ka, pure greed in Chang Chia Feng, or the shattered innocence of the teens - everyone delivered exactly what they needed.
Production wise it was also great. I always appreciate when there is a certain balance between aesthetic and more stale/mundane shots. Maybe I am weird, but I dislike when the dramas look like music videos where every second is highly stylized - it’s distracting. Knowing what and when to highlight is a skill.
The drama is obviously not without flaws - no drama is. Starting with a bit of uneven tone. Two aspects I love actually did not form a good synergy. The clumsiness and at times borderline silliness of the mother’s plan at the beginning stages mixed with the horror and realism of what the teens went through seemed odd.
Then we had the absurd last episode - not the biggest fan of the conclusion and the open door for another season. I just cannot see how they will carry the resurrection and revenge theme, and without these, it will be a completely different drama.
Overall, definitely a refreshing drama. While the portrayal of abuse and crime is ever-present in the majority of shows (even rom-com have their own murder mysteries), this level of realism is not common. One one had it made the drama that much more intense, on the other hand it’s for sure not a title everyone can watch.

it is more than a love story
They Were Each Other’s Journey, Not the DestinationTwenty-Five Twenty-One is one of the most realistic dramas out there, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.
At its core, the drama isn’t just about romance, it’s about youth, dreams, friendship, growth, and the fleeting nature of certain relationships. Set against the backdrop of the IMF crisis, it follows Na Hee-do, a passionate fencer chasing her dreams, and Baek Yi-jin, a young man whose life is turned upside down overnight. Their paths cross at a time when both of them need someone to lean on, and what unfolds is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt relationships in K-drama history.
What makes their story stand out is how real it feels. Baek Yi-jin was only a part of Na Hee-do’s journey, not her destination, and vice versa. They made each other happy, helped each other grow, and loved each other fiercely. Through their victories and failures, they became each other’s source of comfort and strength during some of the most defining years of their lives.
The drama perfectly captures the bittersweet reality that not every meaningful relationship is meant to last forever. Sometimes people enter our lives to teach us something, help us grow, and shape the person we eventually become. Their story was a chapter in their lives that helped shape who they are today, and maybe that was the only role they were meant to play in each other’s lives.
Beyond the romance, Twenty-Five Twenty-One shines through its portrayal of friendship, ambition, family, and the uncertainty of youth. The chemistry between the cast is incredible, the soundtrack is unforgettable, and the nostalgic atmosphere makes every moment feel even more emotional.
While the ending remains one of the most debated in K-drama history, I believe it stayed true to the story it wanted to tell. It wasn’t a fairy tale, and it wasn’t meant to be. It was a story about a time in two people’s lives that changed them forever.
And perhaps that’s what made their story so beautiful it’s not a tale of forever, but a reminder that some relationships are meant to shape us, not stay with us.

the joy of young love
The joy of young is at every glance, movement and breath and in the courage to express them to the one you love. It is the incomprehensible happiness of knowing that the person you love is also in love with you. Gemini and Fourth encapsulate the the whole gamut of emotions in a very subtle way. Good acting ! And the kiss is something to rewind over and over again. From the awkward first kiss in The School President to the more daring one here in Ticket to Heaven, Gemini and Fourth had shown us all how they evolved into mature performers. Their chemistry is still one of the best in the bl industry. The symbolism too in this episode can be seen in the use of rain and lights and shadows and the doors opening and closing which point to their feelings and turmoil and ultimately their freedom to love each other!Was this review helpful to you?

My Overall Review of Double Helix (So Far)Huuuu fhdkdjdjdjdj where do I even start.
This series is not for everyone. If you're looking for a healthy relationship, green flags, communication, and sunshine, then babes... turn around 😭✋ Double Helix is messy. The characters are messy. The relationship is messy. The decisions are messy. Everything is just one big fhdkdjdjdj of pain, yearning, obsession, regret, and unresolved feelings. And that's exactly why I like it.
What I love the most about this series is that it doesn't force me to like the characters. It simply shows me who they are. Lu Feng is obsessive, possessive, controlling, and honestly? Sometimes a whole menace to society 😭. But at the same time, the series does a great job showing where all that fear comes from. People keep reducing him to a red flag, but if you actually pay attention to the details, you'll see so much more than that. The eyes, the hand movements, the mannerisms, the pauses before speaking, the way he looks at Yi Chen like he's afraid he'll disappear again huuuuu. Those small details carry so much emotion. The amount of yearning this man has carried for years is actually insane. Like sir, be a real human and find me instead 😭✋. (Kidding)
And then there's Yi Chen. I think people often misunderstand him too. He's not perfect. Not even close. He puts family first, avoids confrontation, and leaves a lot of things unsaid. But that's exactly what makes their relationship so tragic. Lu Feng wants reassurance while Yi Chen struggles to give it.
They're both flawed. That's why I can't fully agree when people say one is the villain and the other is the victim. Huuu no. They're two people who keep hurting each other in different ways while loving each other at the same time.
The chemistry? FHKDKDJDJD. The tension? KSLKSODKDKE The emotional damage? KDLEKD I WANT MORE. I swear some scenes don't even need dialogue because the actors are carrying everything through expressions alone.
And about the ending (how viewers want it)... I know many people want them to separate and find someone better. I understand why. I really do. But from a character perspective? I don't think that's what either of them actually wants.
Lu Feng has spent almost his entire life loving one person. Whether that's healthy or not isn't even the point anymore. That's literally who he is as a character. Giving him another love interest would feel like giving me a completely different person.
Yi Chen isn't any better because despite everything, despite the years, despite trying to live the life everyone wanted for him, he still finds himself tied back to Lu Feng. These two are obsessed with each other. Dmn G 😭.
And now I think I finally understand why Yi Chen's brother and his partner were able to be happy together while Yi Chen and Lu Feng spent years suffering. At first, I kept wondering why one couple seemed so stable while these two were constantly going through pain after pain 😭.
But I think the difference is commitment. Yi Chen's brother chose to fully commit to his relationship despite everything. He made a choice and stood by it. Meanwhile, Yi Chen has always loved Lu Feng, but he was afraid of what that commitment would mean. Afraid of hurting his family. Afraid of disappointing people. Afraid of choosing himself.
And because he's the older one, I feel like he carried even more responsibility and guilt on his shoulders. That's why Lu Feng was always the one chasing, waiting, yearning, and fighting for them. Huuuu, when you really think about it, Lu Feng spent years proving that he wanted Yi Chen.The question was whether Yi Chen could finally choose Lu Feng the same way Lu Feng had always chosen him.
That's why I personally don't want an ending where they simply move on and find someone else. It might be healthier, but it wouldn't feel true to the story that has been shown so far. My only wish is for Yi Chen realize that his man need an CLEAR ASSURANCE from him. Omylige huhuhu I love this series.
Overall, Double Helix is painful, frustrating, emotionally exhausting, and sometimes makes me want to throw my tablet across the room.
10/10 would suffer again. Huuuuuuu 😭✋

Unpopular opinion, I know
What I liked:-Strong female lead. She put up with a lot, but she wasn't a whiner and she worked hard for everything she got.
-I liked the development of the relationships between the leads. It was slow and natural.
However, what I didn't:
-I watched 35 episodes in two days, which shows you how much fast-forwarding I did. Too much business talk, propaganda about China and their electric vehicles and how they are the best and flying the Chinese flags.
-Their relationship developed so naturally, that once they got together, I was very disappointed. She'd dated someone before this, and do you expect me to believe they never even kissed?!? So, ML and FL get together but she never allows him to kiss her. This goes on for quite some time, and then the kisses were disappointing. Plus, she became cutesier, always hitting him playfully, etc.
-Her going behind his back to "help" him. She had very strong principles for herself, I couldn't believe that she wouldn't realize that he did as well.
-Her mother, OH MY GOSH! Overly dramatic, overbearing, childish. Although as the end when sat down with both of them, that was a lovely scene, but more for what they said than how she acted.
-"Bad guys" in the company - everyone knew they were evil and did things that hurt the company and would have definitely gotten them fired.
If you like a slow burn and mostly realistic-feeling relationship, you might enjoy this. I know a lot of people don't lower their rating even though they had to fast forward a lot, but I just couldn't let it go in this case.

the acting or emotions there was no depth, and it felt very rushed, like one scene after another in a way that it's not smooth at all.
so overall it ended up feeling off, i didn't mind that it was watered down as the webtoon is like 90% nc scenes or at least that's what i heard but the execution is not great, i guess unless you are looking to watch something to pass your time then i'd say go on

Masterpiece!
I'd read that the project had been heavily criticized, but I didn't dare hope it could be this good. It's incredible that it's being broadcast on Netflix, so I fear that after the perfect first episode, we'll be treated to the same immoral, nihilistic, heartless and mindless story that Western entertainment has accustomed us to for years.The reason I'm ecstatic is that in a world without any justice, seeing Good, Morality and Justice triumph on this Earth for once is something rare and satisfying. If the entire series maintains this moral (almost religious) clarity, this will be my most beloved series of 2026.
Don't be intimidated by accusations of "fascism" or "racism" (everything that was considered normal even in the 90s is labeled that way today). Those making the accusations are the same people who likely grew up in the West under the woke cultural hegemony of the last decade and who find nothing wrong with the constant misandry and insults directed at straight white men in every social and cultural context.
Similarly, those who are outraged when Evil is punished are the same people who find the killing of innocent creatures (through abortion) legitimate.
Look without prejudice and you will be fascinated by this masterpiece.

The story is about a translator that meet a girl in the middle of a Japanese restaurant. He bumped into a Korean girl that have a difficulties to translate what she want to say. He helped her but somehow got involved deeper after she became popular because of an incident and the movie that she became part of the charater... The story is about a high school girl that doesn't good at anything, but she really loves to write a novel. The problem is that the novel she created is a BL novel, and the viewership is very low. In the middle of the story, she got inspired to create a novel based on real life. That's where the story becomes interesting when several people got involved in her novel.*Never give up in everything you passionate about.

FOURTH THE ACTOR THAT YOU ARE
Fourth is such an incredible actor. His acting, expressions, and gestures were everything. I’ll keep watching this series until the very end just to see how far he goes in becoming Tanrak. Great job, Fourth! :)I’d give the main OST a 10/10, especially the opening part, and I’m also looking forward to Fourth’s OST. Maybe I’ll change my score once Fourth’s OST is release~

A show that makes you miss a life you never lived
If I had to recommend just one drama, it would be Reply 198 without a second thought. Honestly its probably one of the best, if not the best drama I've ever seen. Maybe even one the best slice of life shows I've ever seen.It has everything attached to it: love, friendship, family and all the deep, complicated emotions that come with them. What makes it truly special is the way it captures the sense of time passing. the feeling of growing up & moments slipping away without you even realizing they're gone.
Bro Deok-sun.. She might be one of the most relatable characters I've ever seen. The way she struggles with feeling overlooked, wanting to be loved, making mistakes and just trying her best in general, makes her character feel so real. At some point, you don't just watch her, you start to see yourself in her.
The acting from this cast is genuinely immaculate. Every character feels so real, almost like people you've known your whole life. With fans outside the show even referring to cast members as their characters, rather than their real names at one point. The soundtrack is timeless, full of classics that elevate every scene, but some tracks even being brought back to life because of this show
Its seriously incredibly relatable and grounded into reality. Every plotline feels so meaningful, and every episode leaves you with something to think about. There's so many life lessons interlaced into it, that I found myself reflecting after most episodes.
This was definitely a show I didn't want to end and that alone should say everything. But like the show itself reminds us, all things do. If you're a sentimental person this show would be perfect for you
