Emotion Over Substance

Interesting premise. A Chinese teapot escapes the British Museum and tries to return home.

The drama leans heavily on emotional and nationalistic themes without much depth, relying more on sentiment than storytelling. Production is inconsistent. The dubbing often does not match, and in most scenes the actors barely move their mouths, making the dialogue feel as if they are communicating through telepathy. The English lines feel especially unnecessary, as the actors’ mouths do not move during delivery.

There are clear plot gaps, with little explanation of how the teapot transforms or returns to China. Extended shots of the leads taking and looking at photos, along with excessive B roll, make it feel more like a promotional video. Small details, such as mismatched sound effects, further break immersion.

Overall, the idea is stronger than the execution, with weak storytelling and uneven production throughout.

Very swiftly catching your attention, 18 Again is a very maturely written and emotional k-drama that handles romance, strong emotions and fantasy simultaneously. Introducing you to the 18 Again universe, the first five episodes start with amazing comedy but then the drama develops into something far more emotional and deep. It captures love that blooms, fades and deepens beautifully.

I am so very thankful that Hong Dae Young and Jung Da Jeong got their (sort of) happy ending. While watching, I noticed that Ye Ji Hoon and Jung Da Jeong looked cute together but they were just not meant to end up together. Very happy that Seo Yeon’s relationship with Ye Ji Hoon got better though! Also very thankful that the writers didn’t include the, in my opinion, overused cheating troped and instead solely focused on the relationship between Jung Da Jeong and Hong Dae Young.

I really like the soundtrack, the OST song “Moments Make Memories” actually made me watch it. When it randomly started playing on Spotify I found it so cozy and checked out the series, which I am very content with.

Hong Si A is my favorite character and I couldn’t be happier that she started dating Seo Ji Ho. I shipped them from the beginning! Also happy with how love turned out for Deok Jin and Ok Hae In, they really were appropriate for each other.

Something else I also appreciated is all the small details, which made the series so much more enjoyable. The epilogues also brought in depth to the story and felt really meaningful.

Choi Il Kwon was so annoying, so it was very nice that he didn’t appear in the last episodes.

Could have been better:

While I really enjoy watching and reading fantasy series and books, it has to make sense in some way. And my problem with 18 Again is HOW NO ONE RECOGNIZED HONG DAE YOUNG. Like I get that it’s been a long time but still shouldn’t at least his wife and father have recognized him? And then Seo Ji Ho being the only one who actually did recognize him??? That part of the drama was very messed up. Like the characters could have at least thought that he was a second son of Hong Dae Young, not just some random son to a friend of Hong Dae Young who, mind you, has never appeared to be a father. And then when people called who they taught was the actual Hong Dae Young, he answered with his young voice, but nobody noticed that?

I’m also annoyed that Hong Dae Young didn’t tell his children the truth - I get that it’s very hard to believe but now Hong Si Woo lost his best friend just like that idk.

A super good show!

An interesting drama really not your usual coroner's genre

LIKE

The case involving well wow when they digged up I cried so much

Heal sickness and heal heart at the same time

When Qin Wan let go of her hands and fell into the water saddd

That particular case omg I need to cover the tv screen quite a number of murders

Crown prince so poor thing that stupid ambitious Empress

Good mixture of healing and coroner Good cases

I thought it was just a coroner story investigating murders and suddenly turned into an enormous plot twist

As the story slowly unravel with little hints here and there and my wild guess my god

Went to check on the scriptwriter is the one for Love Like a Galaxy then I realised ahhh no wonder!!

Everytime Qin Wan examines bodies, I’m eating.. almost want to puke at times it’s quite real and gross..

Crown Princess's love for Crown Prince so much love

Qi Min, the villain yearner my heart aches for

All the Qi Min yearners gather here with me, let our emotional turmoils peak together. One of the biggest reasons I could keep up with so many episodes was because of this second love arc which enticed me beautifully. And I appreciate the makers of adaptation for giving us this beautifully, painfully captivating arc that keeps gnawing at some ( unstable ones like me) of our hearts. *Spoilers Ahead* While the pacing for our main cp slowed down or sometimes got boring, I had this delicious, unhinged villain’s schemes, obsession with his woman, and love tribulations to look forward to. Oh my man YEARNS. The yearning he yearned, made me yearn for a villain’s happily ever after too. Now I know that this man is the ultimate villain, BAD BAD. A sinister schemer, merciless kil!er, a villain without redemption. But perhaps, perhaps, not so much irredeemable in love; Perhaps. And this made me so desperately want a real alternate ending for him and QianQian. Where he gets to move her heart, where he is ready to give up everything for her, if it means he can earn the littlest love and space in her heart. And by the ending point? That possibility may not have been so far fetched either. My tears shed with him during the last scene, as he lay there in her lap, and as he listened to her voice in his final breaths. My heart HURT.

Even if in a universe he still remains unhinged, I know my girl QianQian could keep him in check. Even then, I wished for his happy ever after with a new beginning.

Before anyone comes at me with how unokay I am, I know, I KNOW 😭 A girl can be weak for Qi Min, okay?

A series that might surprise

I started this series a little skeptical, both because of Solar becoming a child and because I didn't like Perth and Santa in the last series. However, as I began, I realized that this series was more than just a comedy; it wanted to reflect on many issues, some of them heavy. Solar's personality shift makes us reflect on how trauma can affect people, and characters like Kay instead make us think about other problems that may seem silly but aren't. Perth and Santa are incredible in this series. I love how Santa is acting so well as a child; every single detail, how he moves, how he picks up objects, is exceptional in every way. Perth is the same; in this series he seems more adult and mature, yet fragile when Solar becomes Sun. Sammy is perfect in this role. Everything is well thought out and it shows, from the props to the locations, the excellent direction, and the colors too.
I really like how they are treating the trauma and they are not sexualizing Sun (my initial fear) in fact, this series is treating this trauma with a delicacy and sweetness that I find incredible
For me, it's the series of the year.

Captivating Drama

I started watching this drama because I was bored and decided to watch Ep 1 but it pulled me to watch complete all released episodes.
I really loved episodes in Lin An - They looked like the sweet of beginnings - with the simple life and people of the village although there was some mean people there,
My problems start when the royal court had a bigger space in the drama, because it was very complicated with complicated characters than any historical drama I watched, espcially what happened 17 years ago it's very complicated and I couldn't understand anything, when there was new things in this to say, I beacame more lost.
also the characters I can't understand what evil things that everyone did and what the people think of them in the end (espcially Prime Minister and that old cunning man from Li family).
Also I couldn't understand what ML did, when he cut the ear of the royal servant and the massacre that they talked about it in the beginning of the drama.
I think that ZLH was different in this drama (It's the first drama I watched for him), I tried watching first ep of Story of Kunning Palace before, but I felt him a hateful person there.
The ending was really beautiful, but I wanted to see a scene for Qi Shu with Gongsun Yin in the ending.
For the plot I can't say anything, when I start watching a drama I throw logic things and leave the wind make me go as it like, and don't think of events that occur, just enjoy.
I think that I lost some political events because I watched the drama without focusing carefully.
The Rewatch Value is 1.0 because I never rewatch a drama, only if I missed the drama and characters hardly I can watch some scenes or episodes again.

After dismissing what I said while watching and only enjoyed this drama, It is one of my favorite historical Cdramas for this year.

LIKE

It's the first episode and I already cry till death heart-breaking scene

When the cat has a name - lol

When a phrase was quoted from Go Ahead.. even sing the theme song..

The real culprit who spread Ah Yuan's diarrhea - hilarious

Slow and calm with natural positive vibes

Omg the whole village how these people spread rumours like nobody’s business lol

When Ah Yao confessed to Hong Dou as a farewell sigh..

Nan Nan’s parents aged overnight cries

Zhi Yuan’s lame jokes

If you want to leave, leave happily. Do not leave when hungry, unhappy

If you have thousands you want ten thousands. If you become Emperor you want to be Immortal

Acting of all actress and actors are amazing but drama's story line is predictable

I decided to watch this drama because of all the hyped I saw on social media like X and Instagram. After watching it, I found it quite funny, similar to other time travel dramas. What sets it apart, though, is the female lead's stunning visuals she is truly captivating. The male lead’s acting is also equally impressive.

While the plot is somewhat predictable given the time travel trope, the standout for me is definitely the acting. From the silly and comedic moments to the serious and heartbreaking scenes, every actor in this drama delivered a fantastic performance.

Interestingly, the drama didn't need heavy promotion because it was already popular as a donghua and a short drama. Both Wang Churan and Cheng Lei have received high praise from donghua fans for their portrayals. It’s a solid watch for anyone who appreciates great acting and beautiful cinematography.

this show will make you cry big time, but it’s all worth it!

i love the acting, and how real everything feels while you watch it. i love the main leads relationship especially, and the way that they have both healed each other and been the sun to the others moon while the female lead doesn’t know is so beautiful. thsi is a show i fear i will never get bored of, and so far i haven’t watched a single boring episode! the second and third lead couple are also adorable: i especially love the relationship between the youngest sister and her boyfriend! hes such a green flag, and shes even greener! overall, this drama has its own way of making you cry, laugh, smile, and cringe all in one, and that’s something that i love to see in a kdrama!

Hidden Gem Drama, that make you want to rewatch this

This drama is like a hidden gem. In the early episodes, you might feel a bit confusedlike, 'Wait, what is this?'
because the female lead has lost her memory and is acting purely on the belief that she’s a devoted wife. Even though she’s unsure, Liu Miantang’s sincerity in being a good wife is so touching; that’s where I started to really sympathize with her. The male lead’s silly antics and his growing care for her also add a beautiful touch to the story.

It’s not too heavy, making it perfect for romance lovers who want something light. Liu Miantang’s resilience and independence are the main attractions here. Even after her memory returns, she stands firm in her beliefs, which is amazing she’s truly an independent woman. Since the drama is very female-centric, the male lead’s role felt just right.

The scene that touched me the most was when Zhang Wanyi wrote the divorce papers it actually broke my heart! His wife was so sincere, yet he divorced her without a clear or logical explanation. And when Liu Miantang said, "You are my husband; if you die in battle, I will bring your body back no matter how far I have to go" I felt so much pain for her because her husband wasn't considering her feelings at all.

I’ve already rewatched this three times. It’s definitely the kind of drama I’ll keep coming back to whenever I’m bored.

Atleast better than 1st season

This season was actually better than the first season as it did not ragebaited me that much as the first.
Here Uehera has a bit of character development and finally values Nao now, but Nao character is really of no confidence actually which is kinda irritating and also the clumsiness of her and some mindless things she does is kinda cringe.
in this drama as they are having more wider world now meeting new people, they both were insecure about each other... THE COMMUNICATION WAS SOO OFF AND IT LED TO MANY MISUNDERSTANDING,which were soo unecessary, and actually Nao was totally soo better with natsume, I really loved that character and he totally deserved to be with Nao, but no nao always saw Uehera only even though how shitty he treated her was a bit of much to me, so overall it's a drama which might just boil your blood.
