Funny, emotional, quirky… all in one

After watching the flop of Only for Love, I wanted to see something different… not historical… and came across this one…
And what a difference! I was interested since the beginning..
This is a story about ACCEPTANCE… to others and to yourself…
I found it eye opener and powerful.

Eun Hwan Ki…. Has so many layers… basically more yhan meet the eye…. Kudos to Yeon Woo Jin… he did a very god job portraying the anxiety and frustration of not being able to express yourself, not being heard… I stayed glued to the screen really hoping for his happiness…
It broke my heart how he was treated by his father.. always compared to others, belittled… of course it was bound to happen to become closed off and alone…
How smartly he matched every team member to the right assignment to take them out of their comfort zone but in a good way… that is true leadership in the workplace… kudos to the writers for that!

He has so much to give… jeez… got me crying every episode…

Now, Chae Ro Woon.. is exactly what I expected.. too loud, too pushy, too much… I liked that the writers shifted her towards a more understanding, even emotional intelligent side… still sparky but with more essence and not only noise…
How the drama with the sister broke her life… that is so true…. The ones that are left behind are the ones that pay the price… even years after.
I liked her direct approach…. It was the ying to Hwan Ki’s yang….
(I find her different than other actresses…. I like her)

Quite a lot of funny moments… balancing the seriousness of the drama quite nicely..

Would I watch it again? Yes

More importantly and unexpected…. Got me thinking differently about whats going on inside the mind of an introvert…

Funny and light hearted

The series is funny and light-hearted and does tell a good overall story. I love the actors, especially the main couple. It was nice to see them all work together again. The story is a good story to share. I personally would have preferred it to be a more serious story than a comedy but it overall had a good appeal. Nice storytelling and good drama with a sense of mystery to the story. It is nice to see that everything was set up to the very end. There was a reason for everything and the actors showed it. The series does have its charm and growth with a lot of over-dramatic moments and comedy. You have to know what you're getting into wit this series. I found it to be a fun playful series over all.

Sweet Playful Series

This series was adorable about childhood friendship growing into more. It was sweet to see the cuteness and shyness of the character. The actors did a great job. I enjoyed the friends helping support them and trying to help them understand one another. The girls were a bit annoying running around the guys all day long. It was sweet to see growth in the characters and see them shine and better understand their feelings for one another. The story takes you on a fast adventure, wish it was a bit longer but it tells the story about love, friendship, and understanding with a good acting. Loved the playful shyness they had with their special moments.

I like it. The storyline was interesting, and the lead character's characters are nice. I would recommend this drama even though the end was a little disappointing. Let's face it—not every story is a fairy tale, and sometimes we need a little taste of reality. There are a ton of short C-dramas that are so ridiculously silly.

The topic of communication and how misunderstandings lead to problems and/or separations. Yes, it hurts. Within the story, communication issues and jealousy were not clear or directed but near the end it was like it was brought up, but I really from the start. Exceptionally intelligent author.

This drama was refreshing.

Starting with A Rape and Nonkul So I'll Stop Now. No Thanks

First of all I'm not a fan of Nonkul and I thought I could overlook him for Earth and Pod and the rest of the talent pool this dramedy offers but...

A inebriated person cannot consent to sex even if they initiate it. It is up to the sober person to do the right thing and since that sober person is played by Nonkul I can't go on even for Earth and Pod.

So by having sex with Yin while she was drunk is clearly sexual assault and even in some plot twist this did not happen I don't care. Im over this crap. So with Episode 2 I gladly end any interest in this series but I will say this

Not a fan of the drunken sex thing regardless I could overlook it if GMMTV would have used one of the plethora of young men in their midst. Nanon, Ohm, Joong, Dunk, Pond, Nani, Dew, Kay, AJ or JJ I could go on to play Shane I would stick it out but because it's Nonkul I'm done. I'm sure the series will be a success but I really can't.

STORY IS SOMEWHERE LACK OF EXTREMISM

I started it with reading of the synopsis as it was seemed good but it dissapointed greatly. There is so much happening in the show and all are not that interesting at all. The main cast story is not wholesome. No kiss at all may be for covid. The side love story with the father ,the famale best friend and the male best friend is not somewhere compleated (seemed They started after somethime they dropped with the father of ML then they started with the best friend and suddenly end that too and make the story not at all attacheable.
The acting is quite only thing talkable here only for this I watched this despite of not any interested.
The story of the mother and father of the female lead is just there.
SO OVERALL THE STORY IS NOT ENGAGING AS NOTHING IS COMPLETED.

Gotta be honest, I can't bring myself to 100% ship A Yin with the ML.I just feel that she is way too good for him.
He literally killed her by mistake in the beginning?. And ever since he's gotten her in so much trouble (e.g. he gave that damned peacock the umbrella artifact and ended up putting both his and A Yin's lives in danger- she ended up habing to heal him by sacrificing a part of her lifespan). Also by the looks of the trailers even up to episode 24 he is the same. He literally told her that he regretted to have met her in the trailer like- ?. I do not care under what circumstances he was. I wouldn't be able to find anyone desirable after all of that.
I would very much prefer Feng Yin to return like the QUEEN that she is and pay ZERO attention to him. She's better off ending up with Hong Yi or even on her own at this point.?.

Love is really sweet

This drama is typical yet heartwarming love story and charming leads (LYX and BL) with undeniable chemistry. Both actors acted so naturally although I find LYX has limitations expressing intense angry scenes, maybe he is a soft person in real life.

There’s nothing outstanding about the storyline and plot but their on screen connection kept me smiling and grinning the whole series. Second lead is also not as boring, their acting skills can be improved but their story is also quite interesting. But I do get frustrated with sml actions at times.

Although I do agree, the drama can be shorten to 25 episodes instead of stretching it to 36 episodes with unnecessary subplot. But on the good side, we get more LYX and BL screen time, which is sweet and satisfying. So I dont mind the long episodes.

In summary, "Love is Sweet" offers a comforting and heartening experience, primarily driven by the captivating chemistry between the leads. Although the storyline may follow a conventionaly path, the genuine performances and endearing love story make it an enjoyable and memorable drama for those seeking a dose of heartfelt romance.

A swing and a miss

I really wanted to like this show and I'm kind of sad that I didn't.
There is potential in this story and in this cast but the final product fails to live up to it, which is a shame.
I feel like the series is stuck in the unfortunate limbo between being enjoyable as an actually good show and being enjoyable as a silly, self-aware rollercoaster ride.
It's too nonsensical and off-beat to be truly taken seriously, but it also takes *itself* just a bit too seriously to be a fun thrill-ride like this year's Why R U was, for instance.
The overall production quality is very decent and there are a couple of genuinely good scenes, but that's about all the show has going for it, unfortunately.
If you want something simple to turn your brain off to, this might do the trick. There simply also happen to be a lot of better shows you could be spending your time on instead, just saying.

WELL.... THAT WAS NOT BAD

but not good either.

mahiro takasugi really has this puppy, younger brother aura that made him so non-threatening and in line with chihiro character. I love him in 'cursed in love' and 'kakegurui'. but what made me really stay tune to this drama is Akamine and Kaoru lmao. Nimura Sawa has this flair and flamboyance that NONE of japanese actress has able to pull and instead of being an annoying character, she felt very genuine and endearing. When I saw both of chihiro's brothers, i thought "wow, they really won the gen pool lottery" cos all of them are so fucking HOT!!!!! but Furukawa Yuuta as Kaoru was the one who caught my eyes. i love his extravagance and funny support to chihiro. I look forward to both of these stars work in the future!

aside of the actors' portrayal, the plot itself try to sell "breaking the societal norm and gender role" trope, but i feel like the screenwriter keep going backwards about it... it was pitiful to see how hard chihiro going for honoka in the first half of the episode. also there are a lot useless love triangles here and there. i can't say i enjoy it, but i don't hate it.

So close and yet so far

This show was so close to being actually good and enjoyable but then it tripped and fell flat on its face just before the finish line.
To be clear: I didn't expect this show to be a masterpiece by any means, but I was hoping for a romance drama that, while shallow, would be just charming and self-aware enough to spark my interest. And for the first few episodes that's what I thought I was getting. Sure, there are some fairly obvious flaws with the series even early on, but all in all the first half of the show is still entirely watchable.
But then, instead of slowly improving on the main characters' dynamic, the show inexplicably starts spiraling, sidelining its lovable supporting cast, introducing strange conflicts that go nowhere and an antagonist who sees zero consequences for her actions, before ending on an incredibly strange note that feels nothing like the satisfying happy ending it presents itself as.
I admit I'm being fairly harsh here, but I suppose I'm just annoyed at the wasted potential. This didn't have to be some queer epic, but it could have at least been a pleasant, if slightly silly, food romance. It's just a shame, is all.
If you're just looking for a show that's easy on the eyes and requires absolutely zero brain cells to follow you might like this fine. But even as far as mindless entertainment goes, there's better series out there, in my opinion, and you'd probably be a lot better off watching one of them.

Stunningly beautiful but frustratingly slow.

If you're in the mood for beautiful artistic 9th century style, long takes and a complicated story in a slow film, then The Assassin is probably your cup of tea. If you want to see a cool martial arts movie - Watch something else.

When you see The Assassin you are faced with the age-old question: What makes a good movie? Some prefer a strong story, others powerful effects. Here, a story that arouses no great interest is combined with an artistic style that is unlike anything else.

For those who follow the story, it is about a female assassin in 8th century China. Like many assassins on film, she is faced with the classic dilemma of having her loved one killed or failing her duty, something that meant slightly greater consequences at the time.

If you are looking for a juicy story, you need to have both a lot of concentration and patience, because the director Hou Hsiao-hsien is hardly someone who prioritizes pace, forward-looking lines or clear character development. We're talking sometimes forever-long takes, extremely sparse or no dialogue and scenes that work more like art installations.

Undoubtedly, it is a stunningly beautiful film. The environments, the scenography, the costumes - Almost every single frame is like a painting or the most delicious photograph you've seen on a cinema screen. One could practically watch the film without sound and admire the impressive work of the film's creative team.

With that said and the cool visual style aside, it's a frustratingly slow film to get through. As a contrast to the often overly clear film narration in, for example, American cinema, this becomes almost incomprehensible and unnecessarily complicated.

The fight scenes are the highlights - Not because it's exciting but because of the quiet and calm style. But it's still one of the most boring martial arts movies out there. It is a perfect example of "see but not feel" - Gentle on the eyes, but you leave the salon with a slightly empty and unsatisfied feeling.

It's the journey that matters the most, not the destination

It's a musical which consists of 15 beautiful songs, very well written according to the scenario and witty too. It's an open end if you take it one way and it's a closer if you take it the other way. The main protagonist, an elite banker who got demoted to a village branch, acts as a catalyst to unify two separated people. He might have lost, yet he won in a way. His self-discovery of what it takes to be happy in life, makes the movie interesting.

Recommended only if you like musicals and open ending (though it's a closer for me). The journey matters most than the destination, it's that kind of movie.

It's a LA of Manga of same name.

Acting - 8/10
Direction - 8/10
Music - 10+/10
Cinematography - 10/10 (The fisheye camera works were amazing)

❤️❤️❤️

Oh my god.......

Started the drama not expecting the parallel universe, but I loved it. I love fantasy so it was perfect.

Lee Minho.

Woo Dohwan. He had some scenes which he made very funny.

The female main lead is a cop and a badass. Wow!!!

The white horse..... oh my god….. I died.....

The fighting scenes were incredible and extraordinarily thoughtout and filmed. Fabulous!!!

Villain was hateable, so good job.

High rewatch value for me!!!!!!
