Worst storyline.

simala is so selfish. she knows that she had responsibility towards her family but she choose her love. Will that love gave her place to stay and food to eat? She is dillusioning. Also warodom is also so selfish. He knows that he had problems more than he coupd bear but choose to help simala while himself needed help too. The series has too many conflict and i recommended for someone whom don't prefer conflict much in series, don't watch this. Surasit is better in anyway tho compared to warodom and tassanai. She had the power to change her family's fate but she choose not to. She care for her family but not more than herself. Poor her mom keep trying to contact her no matter what trouble she had cause.

Good Acting, Muddled Storyline

So, overall I liked this drama. It is definitely kinda campy and at times silly, but the main leads had good chemistry together and everyone did great with the acting. My biggest issues were the constant miscommunication and refusing to just talk honestly with each other, especially as the FL and ML's relationship developed. At one point as the FL asked for the 10th time if she should tell the truth, I was literally yelling at my computer "YES!"

I also felt that the motivations and emotions of the characters weren't shown very clearly. I was confused for most of the middle third of the show why the 2 of the 3 couples were acting the way they were. Which could definitely just be my own thick skull, but I found it wasnt until each character flat out explained why they were acting a fool that I finally understood.? I think if maybe they condensed the middle episodes in like half, it would have felt less frustrating, especially since one of my biggest pet peeves is when there's relationship drama just because characters aren't having a simple conversation with each other. And this drama dragged that out for a LOT longer than I think it needed to.

My other big issue was with Yu Yue and Qin Shi Yue. Their relationship felt very forced and honestly weird. Normally I don't have an issue with age gaps in a relationship, but they felt mismatched as a couple and more big brother/little sister-ish. I understand what the writers were going for, but I just didn't quite buy that relationship.

Overall, I think I would still rewatch it, and I did finish it in less than a week because it did have some really nice moments and aspects to it. I don't think it'll be one of my absolute favorite shows though.

Terrible everything but NC Scenes.

They just HAD to bring out the freaking guitar on episode ONE. Honestly I can’t even say it’s going to be a good type of hot garbage show. The acting is really bad and the editing is on par with that as well. I’m not surprised though because it’s from the same people as Tim Jai and that show was TERRIBLE. The managers gave me war flashbacks to Be My Superstar which was also a very questionable show.
Although the NC scene was great and I’m glad we’re getting some good content with that, I would like these writers and directors to actually put in the work with the show in its entirety. There are so many dramas that have a good balance of both and in the good year of 2024 with shows such as Last Twighlight these other dramas can not afford to fall flat like this.
Most of us actually do want a good plot and with good acting in a show.

you will smile, cry and blush

the beggining feels a little rushed, some scenes that won't be developed, but after the third episode it becomes making more sense. the final episode is so unexpected, it was a surprise and plot twisting. the last scene melted my heart and made me run out of tears.

it is a good drama, for me it's the one that had more similarities with the hetero general dramas. an amazing experience.

don't let the others reviews scary you, watch it and see it by yourself, it's worth it!!!

why this review has to be that long? I will add that the actor that plays Min YuDam is SO pretty.

Claudia Kim is AMAZING

We conclude the first season here, with more positives than negatives. I see this as a good outlook for the second season. Clearly, it was a drama made for the global audience with touches of Korean style. Many times, I thought I was watching a series from FOX or AMC because of the script style and the pace of the drama. The creature's CGI still presents issues in terms of art and finishing, but it seems to have improved as the episodes progressed. Nothing that deserves more consistent criticism.

Now, talking about the story, I noticed something that most people didn't catch, but it's quite clear in episodes 8 or 9. I'll explain: Everyone remembers that it was Akiko who drank the water with Najin. However, in the mentioned episodes above, it shows that Najin was administered to Akiko as soon as she entered the hospital. So, who drank the Najin water from the lab? Tae-Sang is my highest probability. For me, the three characters who extended their life expectancies were Tae-Sang, Chae-Ok, and Mrs. Maeda because the trio has Najin in their bodies. Probably, their Najin is asymptomatic in their bodies, and maybe in the second season, they'll erupt, unleashing a whole hell. Possibly, one of the current favorite actors, Bae Hyun-Sung, will be Ishikawa and Akiko's son.

I conclude the review by saying that although Seon-Jun and So-Hee did very well in their roles, their torrid love story seemed exaggerated and superficial to me, not convincing me. But for me, the highlight of the drama without a shadow of a doubt was Claudia Kim, playing Mrs. Maeda. She took the drama for herself, portraying a chilly and restrained yet villainous and determined character. Moreover, she spoke Japanese with an excellent and well-executed cadence.

Savoury at first and then, like chewing plain hard bread.

As a fan of the FL, I decided to watch Legend of An Le when I found out about this show. I have also watched other dramas starring the ML and he is quite handsome and quite decent as an actor. I had pretty high hopes. At first, the drama started off roaringly. There were shenanigans and the FL was feisty as well as funny. As the drama progressed, things started to water down...

What I Liked:
- The FL and the ML. I think they could have done a better job because I have seen their other dramas which were great. However, I think it's not their fault but more the fault of the scriptwriters.
- The cast was earnest. I could see their efforts in acting out their roles as well as they could.
- Lin Lang turned out to be endearing. She respected and adored Luo Ming Xi but never crossed the line. She was an honorable and dignified woman from start to end. I was sad when she was killed.
- Luo Ming Xi stole my heart in this drama. I saw him in Chang Ge Xing but he did not leave a very strong impression on me. He was good then as Hao Du, but not great IMO. In this drama, the actor who portrayed Luo Ming Xi was awesome. He stole the show and I watched for him. He loved Di Zi Yuan deeply and sincerely but he would not do anything that would hurt or harm her in the name of his love for her. What a charming and devoted man he was!

What I Didn't Like:
- I really couldn't like Princess An Ning. She didn't have much expression through out the drama. She was just anal and exasperating to watch.
- Leng Bei was a traitor and I hate traitors to the core.
- The drama was as exciting as chewing plain hard bread half-way through. I wanted to drop the drama but my partner wanted to complete it and so, we did. The ending was a happy one (more or less), but it wasn't exciting or amazing in anyway. I felt relieved that it was all over.

I'd still rate this as a 7/10 but my partner thinks that 6.5/10 is more appropriate. However, if you have better options out there, you may want to go for those before embarking on this fairly painful and dry journey.

Cute light drama

So far this drama is cute and light. It’s giving very rom com vibes. I like our main cast. The two male leads are both cute and seem to have pretty decent chemistry between each other. I Ike the city boy comes down to the small town vibes. From the beginning the plot moves pretty fast. I like the friend of Sakae and other members of the town. They give off wholesome vibes. There seems to be this angst vibes for one of our main leads.
The editing has been pretty decent so far as well.
One thing I liked so far is one of our main protagonist has a good many funny facial expressions that really add to the dialogue.

Love it!!

I love everything about this drama. It so good.

Strong FL, that can fight and be independent. Has her own motives and goals - not just falling in love with the ml. She just not a crybaby or dismal in distress waiting to be save. She can fight on pier with the ml, she smart and help the ml push the story forward and achieve their goals (even pointed out by the ml himself to be relieved he doesn't have to watch his back when fighting cause she their fighting with him). Same as ml, he has his own goals and motives not just falling for the fl.

Both main leads compliments each other and love how both don't have a powerful position but still can make a difference - makes the drama interesting. You can feel the chemistry between them. Love how flirty and bold the fl lead is. The acting is good as well. The aesthetic is nice, costume, makeup, accessory, the action packed fighting scenes so well done and perfect. What else can you ask for!!

The bromance between the leads and his comrade are top tier, their interaction are funny and entertaining to watch. Really the highlight of the drama. Made me cry at the end, very touching the length and trust they have/go for each other.

Must watch!

Just finished this drama and wow i was impressed! Great cast with good acting all around! Usually when theres a huge cast like this, i have a hard time remembering who is who, but the characters are all memorable here and have depth! They each have their own stories and so not exist just to move the plot along. The directing, cinematography and pace were all excellent. No boring parts at all but still had enough moments between the characters to flesh out relationships. Loved that this wasn't solely focused on romance (the title is a bit misleading). The fight scenes were amazing. Liu shishi is perfectly cast here as a cold assassin and Liu yuning is the perfect match here as her equal.

This drama sprinkled just the right amount of comedy in the perfect spots. The first half had me laughing to myself almost every episode. I didnt know Alen Fang had comedic chops!

The ending gutted me but i was prepared from all the spoilers online. I do feel this was the "right" ending for the characters and i appreciate the directors not forcing a happy ending just to please viewers. A tragic ending is sometimes more impactful and it made sense the core group died as heroes.

Anyway, this is a must watch! Have tissues ready for the last few episodes though.

Waste of potential

Was really excited and hype for this drama when it first came out. Was a fan of zhao lusi so was really disappointed that the storyline really laydown the cast. It was BORING, is all I can say. The storyline is predictable and a copy paste of past drama with the same drama. Nothing new.

Their was no chemistry between the leads. The ml acting is stiff and only had one expression for most of the drama, but that maybe because of his character having being a stoic, cold true god???? But because of that I felt no love between them, more like sibling vibes. SO all that tribulation didn't really make me invested in the characters or their journey.

The drama felt draggy and scenes where nothing is happening or it going nowhere. Even if you skipped, you missed nothing. The villian motives are the same old, nothing new, 'jealously'.

SO LAME BUT TOTALLY RELATABLE :(

QUICK AND THE GUY IS SO ATTRACTIVE.
BUT WHAT THE HECK - all I can say is yes, this is relatable in the sense that some women are such foxes as the "friend" like bro come on.

And yes men are like this, they chase, get the girl, and get bored.

SO SAD. SO REAL. SO LAME.

However, the quality was good, super to the point, and cute cast.

I am upset at the abrupt ending and just like no follow up of some sort. Man, this director said welp this is how men are - they ain't shhiiiii -_-

everything was perfect, but it could be better

dropped in ep19 .. the storyline is really really good I liked there's a Chinese FL who really cares a lot for her dignity and has self_esteem, Strong Minded doesn't lose her mind for such a man (crush/love) and she can really hide her Love if it will hurt her and her Dignity, and I liked that clingy Shameless ML who do everything to get his Love ,and I liked the production and decorations .. it's really perfect

but the whole show was really boring I can't handle, okay there were many things happened but it all were boring, even the funny scenes were so normal nothing special I didn't Laugh at ! even flirty scenes were not so strong as it should be

There's no chemistry between main leads at ALL, and FL's provocative smile was very fake and annoying, and she doesn't have any other reactions

I really loved the ost so far, perfect
but the drama? Come on I can't, I barely finished those 19 Eps

it it could be better

The Middleman’s Love was a deal breaker

As a fan of ‘Bed Friend’ and the character Jade, I wanted to love this. In fact, I did for a little while.

Episode one was not a strong opener but I have a soft spot for cringy and slapstick comedy so it was bearable. I highly enjoyed episodes two to four, five started falling off but it was still tolerable. My biggest complaint would be the introduction of the second or even third couple if we count KingUea. This was a sequel/spin-off of the second couple from ‘Bed Friend’ so why introduce a new couple? It might be nitpicking and introducing new couples isn’t a crime but the new couple got so much screen time (I skipped most of their later parts because it was so repetitive and unattractive to watch). Their romantic relationship was also poorly developed and executed.

What the show did well:
- The comedy. It was my cup of tea and I enjoyed Yim as Jade. Some of the better execution would be when Jade was standing in front and middle while they were deciding what to eat as a group. He told everyone to come closer like he was ready to whisper, but he ended up shouting. I laughed so hard
- The consistency between Jade’s relationship with King and Uea. Jade and Uea being the lovey-dovey giggly besties is one of the better parts of the show. Jade’s constant butting heads with King was also great. I only wished his friendship with Gun was more apparent like in Bed Friends. They were inseparable at one point and in Middleman’s Love, they hardly hung out together unless it was a group/company hangout.
- Jade’s family is so precious. The introduction of his brother was funny and his sister is just a ray of sunshine.
- The shot of Jade’s family having dinner in episode 3. They shot it through the door to make it look like a live picture-perfect family. That was brilliant.
- Tutor covering Nunew’s song…OMG, can we get an official cover?

What the show didn’t do so well:
- As comedy was the baseline of this series, continuity errors and bad editing are bound to happen. But there’s only so much you can do before it becomes unforgivable. When Jade introduced the dog to Mai, there was a time when he was supposed to be squatting down beside the dog, but an editor decided to insert a blur, close up of the dog, and in the back, you can see Yim’s shoes as he walked by before they cut back to Jade still being next to the dog. That part stuck out like a sore thumb.
- I don’t know if perhaps Tutor can’t drive in real life or it was a lack of budget but every time Mai and Jade are in the car, they never move. Even when Tutor was ‘driving’ the scenery through the windows remained the same. That was awkward.
- The timeline wasn’t clear and the pacing didn’t seem to match it whatsoever
Jade’s fear of flickering lights in the daytime was never explained…
- Tong and Gus’ relationship shouldn’t have happened. Their amount of screen time didn’t contribute to the main storyline. Their personalities were also swapped halfway through the show. Gus went from a nice, friendly guy to a pouty kid who isn’t easily pleased. Tong wasn’t easily pleased or expressive but was all of a sudden very intimate and clingy. Gus’ relationship with his mother came out of nowhere and went nowhere.
- The NC scenes. Once Mai and Jade got together, they lost their spark and sweetness. The sexual tension heightened and the show attempted to become Bed Friend 2.0.
- Mai’s relationship with his family gave me mixed signals. Sometimes he'd be sweet on the phone with his mom. Other times, he seems annoyed with her. For some time it sounded like he had a falling out with his father and even brother but it was never clear. They also seemed like fine people by the finale episode.
- I'm not going to talk about Jade's uncalled-for, unexpected outburst at his family's lunch gathering because what was that? There was no build-up for that as far as I'm aware.

Though I’m happy to see Uea again, I’m glad this series only has eight episodes.
Unless you’re a fan of the actors, MaiJade, or clumsy comedy, I can’t imagine you’d enjoy this one very much.
