Not what I was expecting

I hope this isn’t going to be the norm for GMMTV BL series now. Too mature. I love my sweet, cute, funny GMM actors. There was very little of that. The storylines for each couple was dark and intense. Lots of backstabbing and lies. Focused mainly on addiction. Alcoholism, Drug use, and Sex addiction. Some of it was resolved, some not. My heart broke for Nick and I was disappointed there was no happy ending for him. Hopefully he got together with his coworker. He seemed nice. I’m sure lots of people like this but I was too upset the whole time to enjoy it.

Solid Start

I've been in a bit of a KDrama slump lately, so I've been looking for a show that I can get past the first week of, and so far, "Moon in the Day" looks to be that show. The best part right now is the acting; Pyo Ye Jin and Kim Young Dae are great in the first episodes and have good chemistry. They were the main draw for me to give this show a try, and they didn't disappoint. Where I do hope the show can improve is in the story. It's not bad, but a little convoluted at this point, and even with a 14-episode order, I worry that the show might end up overextending itself. So, despite a few issues, I enjoyed these first episodes as they were also pretty funny, and the flashback scenes were well done, doing a good job differentiating the time periods while making both parts interesting.

I never thought my first official 10/10 would be a non-LGBT drama

I had only watched two K-Dramas (non -BL) and I was interested because I knew it wasn't a conventional show. This was so good. The story was impecable, the ACTING??? Flawless. I usually don't like it when a typical person portrays an autistic one, but just like in Attorney Woo the actors did a great job. I loved everything about it.
Let's start with the stop-motion animations, which were so well done and dark and beautiful.
I love how the writers actually knew about pathological/neural disorders. No one ever talks about how PTSD and autism can be similar, but they did. Also there's usually a pattern in which it's always a crazy woman and a "normal" guy who can "fix her", but this time they made sure we knew that he wasn't normal at all. They went through so much shit and we know that they couldn't actually heal each other, but fighting together is better than alone (and they made that very clear, they were not fixing each other, but embracing who they were and trying to live a happy life). I cried so many times because I, myself, am neurodivergent and have a personality disorder, so I could relate too much to all of them.
I loved that they managed to show the back story of the patients in the hospital as well, that just proved that the point of the drama was not only about the romance (actually a lot of things show that).
I also liked the plot twist a lot. I was expecting it, but I think my brain just thought "omg it would be so crazy if the mom was her, right? lol" it was a lucky guess, I think. I just thought she had too much screen time for a side character.
But for me, the best part was Ko Moon Yeon's books. Those were absolutely great. The way her stories were for children but in a dark way and they apply perfectly with life and were so INTENSE. I think I might've cried with almost every story they narrated.
What they did to Sang-Tae at the end got me very emotional, knowing he would get his independence (an he actually wanted this, he was the one who asked for it) and knowing that he would be in good care, even without his brother was very healing.

Hatred, romance and hope

With the premise that I was myself victim of bullying (even though not this cruel), I must admit the satisfaction of this drama. From the absolutely relatable hatred towards the bullies to her strength to actually seek revenge, I've loved everything about "The Glory".

The hope that the main character had in her adolescence made me rethink about my life: she was able to get out of that situation, and despite it all she became stronger day by day. I admire her so much, I wouldn't be able to save myself, especially if I was completely alone like her.

Apart from this, she had the mental sanity and clarity to plan a revenge, which even though we can't properly see in this first season, we can foreshadow it'll be fantastic. She remained strong even when confronting her bullies face to face, so strong that didn't snap and kill them right there and then. Even though, my personal opinion, it would've satisfied my need.

Although it was a very difficult journey she stayed loyal to her feelings of hatred and fury.

I love this kind of dramas, where the protagonist's only purpose in life is revenge. It shows that no life is pitiful, just different from ours. It dimonstrates that someone is born to accomplish great things, while others are born to live a miserable life. While the first ones are who, regardless of their dreams, purposes or positive or negative attitude towards life, usually achieve important aims (wether these will be economic or whatever), the latters are those who think everything and everyone own them, that they will conduct a happy life 'cause they have power and money to spend.

Our Dong-eun surely is one of those who are born to accomplish great things: in her case, revenge. There's something else that I love and admire of this types of dramas: the main characters don't have anything else to do after their plans end. Their "main task" is finished, so what do they do now? Either living in regrets for what they've done, or feeling relieved and trying to heal their wounds, or again just surviving until the day they'll die. I think however a character decides to carry on they're heroes nonetheless.

I honestly hope Dong-eun will focus more on her life and how to live as a (approximately, 'cause this kind of wounds will never heal completely) normal person, maybe with Yeo-jeong by her side. This is the kind of happy ending I hope she will get, along with all those people who are living the same hell, 'cause we all know there are more than what we are ready to admit.

Yeo-jeong is that kind of man who makes you feel loved and cared for even in your darkest times, even when you've lost hope in everything and everyone else. He's that kind of man that stays loyal until the very end and will do anything for you and your well-being. But he's also someone who can pretty much relate to Dong-eun's pain, even if for another reason (which is still incomplete in the first season).

They're two broken pieces of a picture, and together they form an artwork, a delightful painting. Maybe with too many dark colors around the edges, but I'm sure when they mix together they create those beautiful lights. They're just perfect for each other and I'm here for it.

Now, apart from the storyline, which is too complex but at the same time satisfying, the acting was superb. Just a look at the cast and I was sure it was going to be perfect. Even Jung Ji-so was amazing: her parts weren't surely the easiest! She portrayed her character so good that she got me goosebumps. It must've been hard...

Overall I'm giving a 9.5. That 0.5? Well, maybe the soundtracks... While they were perfect for the drama, I thought maybe something else would've gotten more effect. And you're asking why the rewatch value is lower than the rest? That's because I wouldn't be able to watch it a second time: too cruel. The first time is already traumatizing, I don't think I need to see it a second time.

And finally, just a last comment: I'm fortunate to have started and finished it when the second season is already out, 'cause otherwise I couldn't have waited that much to see how it would've ended.

One of the best revenge-plot dramas ever!

Heartwarming, Wholesome Japanese BL Masterpiece!

If you are looking for a fluffy, lighthearted, romantic comedy, then this show is for you! The leads Adachi and Kurosawa are both mesmerizing characters that will surely charm anyone who watches them, given of course that you’re into cuteness and wholesome characters.

The out-of-this-world plot allows the writers to maximize their creativity, thus creating funny scenes. One of my favorite parts of the show was when Adachi was able to read the minds of anyone he touched, and thus, he was able to truly understand them. Because of it, he unintentionally touches their hearts and inspires them to be better individuals, it also gives him the opportunity to gain confidence and break out from his shell.

The chemistry between the main leads and it’s dynamic with the whole cast is incredible! Both Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita are perfectly cast as Adachi and Kurosawa, their acting is spot-on as if the characters came out of the manga.

The overall tone of the series is overflowing with positivity. In addition to that, it is also full of heartwarming realizations and interactions in each character. It is one of those shows that doesn’t have any villains. Everyone is likable! Not to mention, you might be able to see yourself in some of the characters, which makes them human and relatable.

The pace of the series is a little bit slow. However, I think they did it for the viewers to appreciate every scene and every detail, especially the character’s emotions. After all, the show is about what’s inside the person’s heart and soul. Speaking of every detail, did I mention that the office setting and even Adachi and Kurosawa's room are very intricately designed? The production really spends their time perfecting everything up to the tiniest details. Even the cinematography was spectacular!

Overall, it is the best Japanese BL at the moment. The manga title “Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!” might bring a negative impression to some people, but just like one of the messages of the show itself, "Do not judge the book by its cover", because the series is more than what meets the eye.

My 1st Life rewatch 2nd 3rd great

I have watched this drama many times & I will watch it many more. The story to me never gets old. The cast & acting was top grade. I grew to love the main leads Lee Min Kii & Jung So Min . The supporting cast were all top grade actors & the series got their monies worth. The story line was direct & it stayed that way through out the drama. I appreciate that. Often times more isn't better. Even the yelling which can get really annoying in Kdrama's was great. It carried a familiar theme guy lead being the upper & the female lead being lower, but anywhere it is rarely any different. I guess stick with what works. Grew to love the male lead in this series. Jung So Min I have never seen her do anything wrong when acting. She is lovable beautiful & always believable.

Mental disorders trigger warnings

One of the most realistic ones I've seen on the painful topic of dealing with mental health disorders from both sufferers and caregivers perspective. Up until around the halfway mark, I had thought the poster image for this drama is quite deceiving. This isn't a happy, feel good drama and comes with a lot of trauma and mental affliction trigger warnings of all kind including unaliving oneself. It also explores the impact all of these have on their loved ones which I'm sure will hit close to home for a lot of the viewers.
However as the story progresses I began to see it's not all dark and gloom and it does a great job portraying both sides in their daily efforts to get better, be happy humans or sometimes just get through the day. As is often the case in real life, some of their stories are successful, some are not but by the end of the show I no longer felt tricked by the poster image.
The deliberate light romance doesn't take away from the essence of the issues they're trying to bring across, focusing instead on deeper, more heartfelt emotions. It does start to drag a little in the second half but I still found it absolutely worth watching and empathized with all the characters right till the end.
Some might find this boring, just understand this is a slice of life type drama so if this isn't your thing you can just skip it. But if you or someone close to you has worked in this field, then you know that a lot of what you see in this drama does actually happen and the toll it takes can be incredibly hard to overcome.

Doona What!!

First you can never hang the whole drama on the fact that you have an Idol. Bae Suzy acting did nothing to enhance the drama . Doona character smoked cigarettes well, did sexy well, had zero chemistry with the lead & displayed the angst of stardom. Other than that unless you are a Bae Suzy fan could have left it. I watched because of the way Vang Se Jong performed in the series. He was awesome & the supporting cast did a great job as well. The ending was anti climatic but I found that the most believable part of the series. It did show well the angst between Doona & Lee Won Joon mostly because of Vang Se Jong's acting ability. Bae Suzy was very pretty & extremely sexy & that to me is where her character began & ended

A genuine treasure

God but this one sucker-punched me right in the gut. Trans representation in film is still difficult to find, much less good trans representation. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this absolute masterpiece of a show.
It's a riot from start to finish and is as wildly entertaining as it is sensitive and touching. It tackles the realities of living as a trans woman with great incisiveness and care and, most importantly, with deep respect.
Rather than having Miki be a flawless, picture-perfect lady that even the most conservative of viewers would have difficulties finding fault with, she is allowed to be imperfect, messy, and deeply human.
She is head-strong, bitchy, confident, insecure, caring, and cynical all at once. She's sometimes wrong about things, sometimes right, and sometimes lands somewhere in-between. The show's approach to her character reminds me of Imogen Binnie's landmark novel "Nevada" in a way. Both main characters have an incomparable fierce, joyous, and messy approach to life that I love.

Another aspect of the show that I love is Goto's storyline. Not only is his character development lovely to see, but he also serves as the perfect counterpart to Miki. She is often cynical and scared of the future, and with good reason. But Goto slowly brings her out of her shell just a little bit and allows her to become a bit softer, a bit more vulnerable, and a bit more trusting.
I won't lie, it did make me tear up a couple of times, especially during the last episode.

I do have some gripes with the show, specifically Mini-sans character whose inclusion I found unnecessary at best and extremely bothersome at worst. And the most obvious flaw, of course - Miki not being portrayed by a trans woman, but by a cis man. It is truly the eternal curse of queer stories being told by straight people.
Nevertheless the writing, acting, and story are brilliant and left me feeling very positive about my own transness, which (as someone quite wise once told me) is honestly always a good metric to judge queer media by - how does it make you feel about your own queerness?
Good - is the answer here. Understood. Appreciated.

In short, I highly recommend this show to anyone looking for great queer rep in general or great trans rep in particular. I would also recommend it to anyone looking for an entertaining yet down-to-earth slice of life drama with a big focus on friendship.
Oh, go watch it already, it is absolutely worth it, trust me.

Not A Remake

I originally didn't watch this drama, because I thought it was a remake or the English Little Women. It is not!! From the beginning you are thrust into the poverty & the disillusionment of the 3 sisters. It also depicts very well how money is the root of all evil. It shows in stark contrast how individuals act when confronted with the option of good over bad. I liked the drama but I found it had way too many limbs on the tree. There was the family story - the grandmother story - the political corruption story - the money story - the murder & they threw in a fake romance between the main characters just I think for sustaining interest. It was an ok watch , only because the acting was grade A & on point. Too bad it had they waited until the last couple of episodes to try and tie in the multiple story lines

Miraculous Brothers is an interesting concept drama

Some Korean Devotees have wanted darker themed Korean Dramas. Each has her own taste. So many dark themed dramas have too much violence in it for me. However, I fell upon this little gem of a Korean Drama. Miraculous Brothers (2023), which is a Crime, Mystery, Fantasy Bromance. The Korean Drama Miraculous Brothers is not a run-of-the-mill story. The edgy dark lyrics of the pulsating drama music should give you a clue about that. Cinematography (especially camera angles) are eye-catching. This drama kept climbing higher and higher up my All-time List, with each episode. You really have to be patient with this one. Each layer has a unique surprise.

The story centers around the mystery surrounding a magnificently written “book” which explores man’s desires and the duality of good and evil. Who is the writer of this book titled ‘God is Dead’, and is this person of this world? Is this book a book of fiction or reality? The writer of Miraculous Brothers just gives away enough mystery, a little bit at a time, until he reveals the big picture. This keeps you fully engaged as a viewer. (The drama has no demonic content, even though the young man has more than human powers.)
The drama pace of Miraculous Brothers is immaculate. What I like most about this complicated drama is that at junctures along the way, you are given recaps of what you should have picked up from all the clues. So if you get lost you are put back on track. For my taste, this is a great drama.
There are two male protagonists in the Korean drama Miraculous Brothers. Are they monsters or saviors? There is a strong female lead character too. While the subject is about serial killings, the drama does not have gratuitous violence. There is some cursing. The rating, however, is mostly accounting for suicides being covered in some arcs in the story.

One of our main protagonists is a young man who appears to be not of this world. He can manipulate time and objects, but lost his memory when he was hit in a car accident. The other protagonist is a failed writer who is the driver of the car from the accident. His life is turned upside down as he tries to piece together clues as to who is this strange visitor.

something you need to watch

I am so glad I started watching this TV series.

I loved acting of all characters, in interesting way, rather then focusimg on mainly doctors helping patients, it was more focused on nurses and their work with patients. New approach for me and I really liked it.

I think many of stories were relatable and I have to admit that writers of this TV show are briliant. The plot was not what I was expecting, I really loved it.?

The top moment (among many) was the speach of head nurse in ep.11, it was so powerful scene about stigma on patients with mental illnesses, I think everyone should hear it and rewatch it for sure.
For people who like more deep and mature TV shows, this is something you need to watch.
I also loved how some of disorders were portrayed- it was also very easy to relate with amazing visual effects.

I am happy korean dramas are getting more popularoty, so much deserved.

I dont want to reveal much of plot, but you will definitely cry, laugh, feel light watching this drama.

There are a lot of plot twists until you find the real Big Mouth and who's the real enemies.
