Day is not a likeable character

Many won't like me because of my review, but I'll be honest. When I started watching this series I really liked it. But, after a few chapters, I started to find it difficult to understand the character Day. I completely understand the fact that he is angry about losing his vision. I would possibly be even angrier than he was. Even so, I think the script created a very inconsistent character. It is very difficult to understand the character's way of thinking and motivations. Let me explain.
Not long after they meet, Day becomes interested in Mhok and we can see this in the way Day interacts with his caretaker. The series clearly demonstrates that the interest was MUTUAL from the beginning. However, without a convincing explanation, Day rejects Mhok when Mhok confesses his love to him, saying that he likes more affectionate men. It didn't make any sense since Mhok was always kind and affectionate to him all the time.
After they start dating, things seem to be going well, but Day decides to break up with Mhok because Mhok lied about his job. This breakup and his motivation were quite unconvincing. Day has the right to be upset, but ending everything just because of that seemed like an exaggeration. So Mhok is not worthy anymore for just one mistake? He lied for being overprotecting, he was not committing genocide for the God sake! The fact that Day cannot forgive Mhok makes him a bit childish.
Actually, I think Day's character didn't treat Mhok and Night well for most of the series. I hate stories where one of the characters tries everything he can to make the relationship works, while the other just complains and doesn't help at all. Mhok did everything for Day but Day didn't reciprocate in the same way. Day, by the way, never apologized for anything. He treated his brother Night like trash without a justifiable reason (Night wasn't responsible for the car accident) and Did not apologize for that. He broke up with Mhok for a stupid reason and did not apologize also. When Mhok comes back and tries to renew the relationship, he rejects him again as if Mhok was a monster who had made a terrible mistake. How much drama! Then all it took was for his mother to say a few self-help phrases for him to completely change his mind and accept Mhok again. Sorry, but all of Day's fickle attitudes were not justified by what the series showed to us. Day was poorly written.

Quite fun

This was cute and fun! I liked how bright and colorful the show was, it felt like an easy watch.

CCIR sheds light on the competitive educational system, and how it negatively affects students in terms of mental health and behavior towards others (their parents or classmates). Su Ah, for example, may have a nasty personality for most of the drama, but I couldn't hate her because it was clearly a result of the academic pressure she has on her shoulders in order to be consistently high achieving in class. I also blame her mother and any other adult in this show lol. Seon Jae's mom... Su Ah's mental health drastically deteriorated: she had hallucinations and even fantasies about harming Hae Yi. Due to the pressure she felt, she viewed HY as an enemy that needed to be eliminated but we could see that she felt bad and that she was self-conscious. Hee Jae is another example of how academic pressure (and parents) can destroy a person mentally, especially because his mom continued to make the same mistake with Seon Jae.

The found family trope in this show is strong and great, I really liked it. Chi Yeol finally found his people, and Haeng Son's little circle was so wholesome. And I loved it whenever she'd say "Anyway" 🥹. However, I found the episodes a tad too long, I watched the second half of the show in double speed and also skipped a little. I thought I would enjoy it a little more than I did to be honest. The show is overall 'alright' - I don't know what it is, but it didn't catch me 100%. The OST was okay - average, there wasn't really a song that stood out to me. But: I really enjoyed the relationship between the leads. It offers some sweet and fun moments between all the teasing and bickering and is also overall quite mature. I didn't like how it was never clarified that Hae Yi didn't attempt suicide though. That was bad writing... my girl was kidnapped!

In conclusion: a cute little show that offers an insight into education and its dark sides and impact on mental health, but also a show with fun romance, friendship and found family.

This will make you believe in love again

Man. This series was everything ! 2023 was filled with many disappointing bls, therefore I did not have high expectations for this one either. I thought it was going to be yet another cheesy bl but this time with a blind ml, but my oh my, was i wrong?

This series made me feel so many emotions. I cried with them, I laughed with them, I squealed at their cute little romantic moments, I loved every second of this !

A disabled character is very difficult to play, and Sea did a great job, as always. I have to talk about Jimmy's character 'Mhok'. So, this Mhok is a tough baddie kinda guy, and you could see how his personality literally CHANGED little by little. At the beginning, he was shown to be rough in behaviour, with almost EVERYONE. Day was no exception, but as he opened his heart little by little you could see how he started treating Day oh so gently, as if Day was a fragile glass utensil which could easily break if not handled carefully. His eyes softened, his tone became so gentle and he treated Day so so tenderly that a part of me melted.

The side characters, They were so beautifully written too ! Everyone had a story to tell, and as you watch you would be so ready to listen to all of their stories ! All the actors did such a great job portraying those characters !

I have nothing bad to say about this show and I could go on and on about how much I loved it. This was an absolute 10 on 10.
A MUST WATCH !
So run to YouTube right now and you won't regret it <3

I felt all of the character's stories as to why they joined Rugal were the same with feeling powerless from preventing corruption or a loved one died so feel guilt. Can't lie I wished we see more of Gwang Chul as I would class him as a half-robot. Gi beom I fell in love for and sympathized with when the eyes got out of control and the situation with his life as he tormented himself over it.
The story made little sense so actions seemed irrational and a little crazy and throughout the whole series hated the chief as he didn't seem to care about anyone's suffering he only wanted Argos to die out and yet the chairman we learn is alive. They should've left it at that as their new everyday lives were dull and we only see what Gi beom is doing.
The fight scenes were nothing special as you knew who was going to win before it even started but were good fun

The best BL series ever done (so far)

It has been an incredible experience, it is the first time I have cried watching a BL.

The script was perfectly made and had an amazing direction, the emotional scenes were well acted and I never felt cringe while watching them, which usually happens in BL series. The scenography was also very good, I highly enjoyed the changes in illumination and scene colouring.

The actors were amazing, Jimmy and Sea have perfect chemistry which gives credibility to their performance. The only thing that could have improved in my opinion was the costume design (although it is mostly because I hated Mohk's scruffy moustache XD). Apart from that 10/10!

A hidden gem

I think that everyone who started recently to watch kdrama should at least watch Kill me Heal me of the get the chance.
I think that my words will be useless since it's one of my favorite shows of all time, I think it's hard to find another one with the same theme or plot that will be better than Kill me Heal me.
I first watched it when I was still a baby in terms of Kdrama, or Korean shows, anyway, and now I'm rewatching it since it's REALLY good, and then I realized that I didn't write a review about this show. What a shame!
So I'm writing one now, and the only thing I have to say to put it in a very simple way is...
If you love good acting
Interesting plot
Amazing soundtrack
Chemistry
And absolutely COMEDY
YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WATCH IT RIGHT AWAY!!!!

kill me heal me is a mix of pure comedy with deep romance and meanings in life, this kdrama is full of amazing things and the ofc, an amazing acting coming from Ji Sung playing as 7 differents characters!
Anyway! It's a definitely must to watch kdrama!

THE BEST TWILIGHT EVER!

I don't usually write reviews unless what I watched turns out be an art of masterpiece that drags my lazy ass to write a review on it. Where do I even begin? (Because I am crying this series has ended...)

Let's talk about P'Aof, the director. I know he is exceptional and always gives us masterpieces...but he went too far...I am sure he can't create a better masterpiece than Last Twilight. Because LT has reached such lengths and has set the bars so higher that's its currently somewhere in the stratosphere...P'AOF, THE DIRECTOR YOU ARE...

JimmySea served us with their amazing acting and insane chemistry with Vice Versa. I had no doubts about their acting, but Sea as Day outdid his acting performance. Its not easy to act as a blind person when you can clearly see. And also those micro-expressions he makes...I want Jimmy and Sea to win best actor awards and P'Aof as best director now. You can't turn a blind eye to such a marvelous work.

Mark and Namtan were the best pair I ever imagined. GMMTV should give them a new series because their chemistry is chemistrying...I wouldn't mind a spin-off with them along with some scenes of DayMohk.

I wish all those BL haters and non-BL people see this work. That way they will realize LOVE IS LOVE and how beautiful the journey of DayMohk's love was.

Overall: 100/10. I will come again and again because this show makes want to believe in hope, love and life.

Awesome show – for about 90% of the time

===This section is spoiler-free===
I liked “Vice Versa” and I liked JimmySea even more. Now I adore them. Their performances in “Last Twilight” are great and a must-see for all BL fans. The show itself is wonderful, with a well-crafted script, which gives a lot of time for the development of characters and their relationships. This does not mean it’s a “slow burn”: the series has a very strong start with a well done introduction of the cast and characters; it stays smart up until the last minutes of ep. 11. What follows – the ep. 11 finale as well as ep. 12 – is a big letdown; I was baffled by how bad, in comparison to the rest of the series, is was. More on that in the spoilers section below.
The script and JimmySea’s chemistry resulted in several great, deeply emotional scenes, which used Day’s blindness in a clever way; this was particularly well done in the final scenes of ep. 4 and ep. 9 (probably the best episode of the show).
“Last Twilight” has a great soundtrack – all 5 songs performed by GMMTV artists are very good, “ภาพสุดท้าย” by Jakrapatr Kaewpanpong is by far the strongest of them (btw: although the title of this song in English was given as “Last Twilight”, Google Translate and similar apps say it’s actually ‘last picture’ or ‘final image’ – which makes more sense than ‘last twilight’). Sadly the same cannot be said about the music used in the show, which is very uneven. The aforementioned final scene of ep. 4 has a great score, but there is a lot of scenes with needlessly loud and “dramatic” music used to underline their importance and/or generate an emotional response from the audience (as if the producers were not sure whether the audience will be intelligent enough to recognize what to feel while watching these scenes). Fortunately there is plenty of quiet moments and scenes to balance those loud and noisy ones.
Rating “Last Twilight” is tough as for almost 11 episodes it’s great, a 8.5 or more, but gets to 7.0 or less in the last minutes of ep. 11 and afterwards. As a JimmySea fan I’m giving it a 8.5 and regret this is not fully deserved (however a 8.0 would be unfair).

===Warning: spoilers below===
No idea what happened there, but minutes before ep. 11 ended the show stopped making sense to me. Maybe P’Aof and other showrunners decided that the “curse” of the penultimate episode must show itself and spoil the fun, maybe they wanted to generate drama, maybe something else pushed them to it – they made the main couple break up. Storywise it made no sense and basically it came out of nothing: up until that point Mhok’s and Day’s relationship was getting stronger and better, with virtually no sign of weakening – not to mention a break up. Day adjusted to being blind, Mhok got a new job and they seemed to be on their best way to be a stable, happy couple, developing their relationship with time. Where did the break up come from? I know that a “reason” for it is given in ep. 11: Day feels that Mhok “pities” him (which, for whatever reason, Mhok confirms in ep. 12), but it makes even less sense. How come it’s “pity” and definitely not love nor fear of losing Day (as he lost his sister) that made Mhok want to stay with Day instead of becoming a chef in Hawaii? Is there a difference between love, fear and pity or is the script deliberately confusing in this regard – because a pretext for the break up was needed? Note that Day broke up with Mhok within minutes of finding out about Mhok not taking the job in Hawaii – there was no discussion, no talking it over, no build up; Day made a 180 on Mhok and told him to go away. They both still loved each other (as we are told later), but had no contact with each other for 3 years, with Day blocking Mhok on social media. Once they meet after that time, however, they … become a couple again. What changed during those 3 years? How did the main characters change? What happened that Day agreed to be with Mhok again? Is Mhok living and working on Hawaii, visiting Day from time to time – is that the arrangement by the end of ep. 12? If so, why wasn’t it possible 3 years earlier? And why did he still fear Mhok would “pity” him? It may seems odd to dwell on the “pity” issue, but since this is the only reason for Day breaking up with Mhok (and the show having a time jump) – it should be explained. No explanation is given, however, and the issue is not resolved. 11 episodes of building a relationship and a few minutes to ruin it, because drama was needed; that’s some really sloppy and lazy writing. I’m not saying that Day and Mhok could not break up – I’m saying that a development like this needs to be justified, make sense in the show as well as fit the characters. Note that Day matured a lot from a spoiled, somewhat angry brat in ep. 1 to a self-aware adult who accepted his blindness in ep. 11 – and then he turned back into that brat to dump Mhok; this radical regression was necessary, as the mature Day from ep. 11 wouldn’t break up with Mhok.
There are similarities between ep. 12 of “Last Twilight” and ep. 10 of “A Tale of 1000 Stars”: the main couple breaks up/separates for a longer time, but later reunites; the separation/break up happen for no good reason and serve no purpose – the characters don’t develop, change nor become more mature. Even if they wanted – they couldn’t, as the years of separation happen entirely off screen. Tian from ATOTS “had” to obey his parents and go to study in the US; this is the same Tian who ditched his parents in ep. 1 and showed no sign of obedience or respect for them for the entire series – he became “respectful” only when the script needed it, probably because someone decided that splitting the main couple will increase drama (who could forget the tear-jerking airport scene?). Not only was it useless storywise, but also seemed disrespectful towards the audience: the love story was slowly developed over 9 episodes only to be interrupted with a pointless time jump of 2 years after which … we got the same characters as before the split. The same happened in “Last Twilight” and I’m beginning to suspect that P’Aof loves those pointless time jumps (remember last episode of “Bad Buddy”?). What a disappointing way to end a great show.

We could have had it all.....

Up until ep 9 this was a solid 10/10 drama for me.... but then the last two episode happened and I don't know anymore.
For the past two months this drama gave me immense joy and happiness.... maybe that's why the disappointment at the turn of events feels enormous. I wish they had taken a better, different route for the journey they set sail for.
At the end there I couldn’t even recognise the characters I came to love so much in the previous episodes. I don’t understand what the whole point of the journey was anymore. These two very different characters were healing each other and growing together towards a better life. And that journey ended at ep 9. That should have been the end.
Everything after that feels kind of pointless…. Especially the last two episodes….
I wish instead of so many time skips they had actually delved a little deeper into Mhok’s character… the trauma he had because of his sister’s death… how he didn’t want to leave Day because he was afraid of losing time with the people he loved…. I also just do not understand why he was the one who was apologising to Day when he was genuinely afraid about losing Day from his life.
“Thank you for breaking up with me”????????? Yeah no. That did not feel right at all.
I’d have preferred if Mhok and Day had an actual conversation about Mhok’s feelings and fears…. for Day to understand where Mhok was coming from. I’d have preferred if they had talked it out and then decided to do a long-distance relationship while Mhok gets to go forward in his career….
Oh well…. You can’t have it all I guess….
I would still say that it was good, well written story till ep 9. If I ever rewatch this drama that's where I would end.

The best series I have ever watched.

This was a very beautiful series. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. It made me feel so many emotions, happiness, sadness, heartbreak, hope, love just everything. They represented Day so well as a man losing his sight and a blind man. Loved the representation of single mothers finding love. The acting by Jimmy, Sea, Mark, Namtan, Cream, and the rest of the cast was so good. This series was well written, well acted, great music, and great filming. I can't think of a single flaw. I have never reviewed a TV show, this is my first time doing this because that is how good it is. It is such a meaningful series. It taught me so many things, especially hope. I hope more people get to watch this. If you are reading my review, this is your indication to watch it.

The actor's characters were well portrayed and executed as Do really gave me the impression of a loving husband and father but later on if he was accused of killing someone I wouldn't be too surprised. Ji-Won was excellent in showing she is independent so isn't an accessory and the young cop who gets pulled in two directions.
The story was intriguing it kept me glued in wondering what was going to happen next. The flashbacks were embedded at the right time as they aid in further understanding the characters.
The romance between the sister and reporter I skipped as it felt awkward and forced as they had a history together yet he wonders how she ended up killing the head.

nice addition

It's hard to rate this special because it felt like just another episode of the show, which to me isn't necessarily a bad thing. I guess I don't know why it was a special and not just the last official episode but whatever, it is what it is. The acting was cute, I liked seeing jealous Minoru. Tane was, as always, absolutely adorable and a highlight of the show. I also enjoyed getting to see more of Yutaka and Tane bonding, and Minoru being dumb haha

Overall it was just... cute, nothing much to say about it really without spoilering it. I didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it but it's not like required viewing because nothing super important to the story happens in it

heartfelt and very sweet (minor spoilers)

Our Dining Table is a great mix of fluffy and emotional. The way their relationships (Yutaka and Minoru, and also Yutaka and Tane) grew from strangers to friends to honestly family was so touching. I loved all the hints we got of the relationship between Yutaka and Minoru growing, and getting to see them figure out how to be there for each other and communicate was really nice. The angsty moment they had was delicious too

Tane was such a bright spot, I loved every scene he was in. He was acted really well, not just when he was happy but when he was sad and sick too. I also really liked Mr. Ueda, he was funny and such a matchmaker, but when he did have more serious scenes he really nailed them. The memories of Mrs. Ueda were really touching too

I really loved everything about this show except that the actors had no chemistry when they kissed.... That one part was super awkward lmao and kind of disappointing! But everything else was so good that it didn't really hinder my experience much

Absolute true perfection

I don’t even know where to begin…Perfection is the first word that comes to mind. This series is absolute perfection. The story is full of heartache, hope, and happiness. The entire cast did so well, but Jimmy and Sea shine. I won’t even mention the pair’s natural chemistry because it always seems to be easy for them to convey, but I will say, Jimmy and Sea truly show off their acting range, ability, and talent in “Last Twilight.” Thank-you everyone who was involved for bringing this gem into my life. You all deserve every accolade possible.
