A petty cop, Jung, gets caught in the middle of a love triangle between mob enforcer Park, mob boss Lee, and Lee’s mistress, Hye Kyung, who’s in love with Park. Lee promises Jung a fat reward if he hurts Park. He agrees and stakes the man out through Hye Kyung’s house. A botched arrest sends Park on the run, but Jung decides the best way to find him again is by sticking with Hye Kyung. Threatening his way into a job at the nightclub she works at, they become friends and he wins her trust. When Park returns asking for money, Hye Kyung spends an intimate night with Jung and makes him promise to find some money for Park. However, with newly found emotions for each other accelerating Jung’s toxic jealousy, their relationship becomes entrenched in a turmoil that ends with a fatal confrontation. Rather excessive in it's showcasing of a gritty environment or the darker side of society. This movie started out with the introduction of an edgy and conflicted detective, and progressed to an incessant and constant dialogue about sex and more specifically the amount of times slang for "penis" was used.

Anyhow, nude scenes were unnecessary but likely helped boost market value. Plot progression was done in a roundabout way though the plot itself wasn't too bad. Acting and cast was relevant to the characters and the characters were relevant to the plot.

The narrative is about a detective on the verge of losing his faith in society, losing his humanity and his conflicted moral compass. In his efforts to catch criminals, the things he's had to do make him question whether he's not the same as them. And this movie gives and in-depth view of his M.O. while handling a difficult case.

Cinematography was good, and the music was great, especially at the end with how well it resonated with the movie's conclusion.

P.s. this is not a feel good kind of movie and if you dislike bitter conclusions this might not be for you but give it a watch - I might just be wrong.

well what can i say, this was sad, just don't get people like Do Yeon's character that r so self sacrificing, doubt what she felt was love - cause if what motivated her to sacrifice herself time and again, and keep going back to a man that kept adding to her debt. if that's love - glad i have never experienced love like this.

the cops in this were as bad as the bad guys, i find it ironic that Gil's character said that the worst thing he was afraid of, was not being able to differentiate if he was the good guy or the bad. the things they got up too and spoke about, were revolting. and these were the good guys?!? shudder inducing!

movie was pretty dark, so i guess the title was fitting, but the ending was a WTF moment. get that even though Do Yeon's character now cause of the cop killing her love, would be able to not only repay her debts but also not accumulate new ones. but i guess, either blinded by the loss of her love, or so furious about the betrayal (cause Yj turned out to be a cop). she chose to hurt/punish him... but as the wound was in a place that was survivable - him going "walkabout" was like a WTF moment.
maybe he didn't want her to get into trouble? or maybe he thought he should pay for him betrayal so he's "paying the price"?!?
this time the "open ending" korean's love in their movies, was annoying.
