It started out well and then it just went downhill. It was such a disappointment in the end.The acting was really unnatural, especially the two male leads. When they cried and laughed it was so forced. Some scenes were also very fake. They were handsome and that's about it. You can't survive on eye candy alone. Even the side characters acted better.
The whole idea of the plot was good, when you read about it. But when you watch it you're like "what's happening?". They rush from one scene in the other. The story was really mixed up.
I hated the ending. The story ended when it just began. I want to complain more about the ending but I don't want to add any spoilers.
Totally wasted my time. It was my first boys love movie and I really regret watching it. I'm not recommending this to anyone, really.
Btw: I'm an artist and they really ridiculed a real artist :(.

The quotations about love, screening during the movie makes, that whole includes deeper meaning. Great film!

The movie's runtime is 1 hour and 30 minutes. It took me 5 days to finally finish it. At first, after reading all the negative opinions about this movie, I thought to myself that it's not that bad. But as it continued, it only got worse and worse. Maybe it was just because I couldn't watch it all at once, or the plot really wasn't that good and it was just CONFUSING.
What I liked:
- Actors. They were pretty handsome, Mamiya and Noeru. But I guess it was only their looks..
- The quotes. Probably the only thing I was looking forward to through the entire movie.
- It made me laugh. They called Noeru a good artist, damn, making me seem like one of the top artists, too, then. Sorry not sorry. It was ridiculous.
What I disliked:
- "All gay men only care about sex and are very rapey." vibe it gave off
- That awful plot twistey ending it tried to be, but failed
- Very forced acting. When you see Mamiya laugh, you just cringe. It was THAT bad.
- Trying too hard to write a tragic story .... I mean, give the characters a break.
- The amount of times I've seen Noeru's butt. First time, good. More than once in a span of an hour? Bleh.
- Way too unrealistic in small details. If I wanted a plot like this, I'd rather pick up some manga or watch anime, but in movies, it's not enjoyable.
But hey, for each our own. :) Maybe even though I didn't enjoy this movie, you could! I think I just had very different expectations. :)

WTAF (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
this is the type of movie where after watching - i wanna hurt everyone involved in making it - like WTAF!!! i was so delighted when i noticed "baby" Saitoh Takumi at first as Noeru, but pretty fast this train goes wayyy of the tracks - dives straight into whacko territory...like Noeru been a promiscuous teen - in the description its watered down "...Noeru decides to hit on Taishin..." hit my ass, he just assaults him, and gives him a BJ in the restroom - like hello?!? and here Taishin keeps telling Noeru he too young to drink - ugh what a joke. plus this made in 2006 not 1996 where Aids was a "new" disease and people thought it was made-up propaganda. so seeing Noeru getting "used" by any tom, dick and harry was nauseating to say the least, and his supposed reason was anticlimactic - and i guess everyone can react differently to any given situation, and he an extreme personality, so he went over-board. but where the parents at?
even Taishin that was kinda normal, was off - like when Chidori the psycho just rushed into his flat looking for Noeru - that wasn't a sane moment - and Taishin as an adult should've known something was very off with this kid. being that obsessive about his friend after telling Taishin that he loved Noeru . anyone else would've seeked out Noeru to touch base and make sure he was ok, let alone inform him that his bff was nuts. Taishin just ignored the whole situation as if nothing happened and only when he saw the add (in the papers) about Noeru being brutally attacked, did he go look for him - like WTF was wrong with these people - its like warning signals r going off and they deaf, dumb and blind...
so everything that happens after isn't shocking, but u start with Taishin and Noeru on the train, blood smudged fingers intertwined and after everything that happens, my head went every which way, as to what could've happened but the reality of Taishin taking Noeru's dead body to the sea, cause that was his wish with his childhood bud Ken - so Taishin could then walk into the sea together and i'm like f*ck u very much - but this a crap ending - this love?!? plz - so Chidori got off scot free? or his punishment is his guilt - like plz with this poetic b.s that amounts to nothing -
i'm sorry i watched this as this was crap, a lot of quote's about love, friendship etc that want to give this movie gravitas that it lacks in spades , basically this amounted to shit all - plz

it could have been better if the script was written differently....
Story: the story is a good one.The way the script is written is another story: bottom line, when the plot really started, the movie ended! I don't know why in every Japanese movie I've watched was a big drama, there was damaged people, and the moments of happiness seemed unreal! For me, the movie seemed like a line of events, somehow separated form each other, they were lost in details that could have been compressed easily in less then half of hour. There was no time to get into detail of the main story, the love between them.
The thing that I liked were the quotes. Were so many and they completed and explained the story line.
For example: "Wherever is one of us, the other is present" or " The moment one begins to love another is when life really starts. "
The very last quote said it all and explained the ending: "If somebody asks why I loved he way I did I'll answer hat both of us were authentic. That is my only answer" (Montaigne).
It could have been a great movie, but the one who wrote the script didn't do a good job.
Acting/Cast: Both main actors were really beautiful! It was a pleasure to watch them. Taking into account that they were 24 and 25 years' old, their acting was ok, not very impresive, as it should be at the beginning of the acting career. Only one or two scenes impressed me; I felt their chemistry, their emotions. It is true that a good actor can play everything. But also is true that always the script is the one which offers to the actors the opportunity to show their value. This wasn't the case here.
Music: To be honest, I don't know what to say about music. There was moments when I liked it, but there was nothing to impress me.
Rewatch: I will never rewatch it. The ending took me by surprise and made me cry even if I understand their idea. It could have been different ending, not necessarily a happy one, but just different.
I need to watch a comedy now......fast!

It was a interesting movie, It had its ups and downs. The storyline was SOMEWHAT easy to follow, I admit that I had to rewind a couple of scenes to figure out what the hell was going on. Also there was SOME chemistry between the actors, I wouldn't complain if they had a little more passion within it. There really isn't much else to say, but.. the ending. The ending had me bawling out from 2 AM to like 5, that's honestly the best part of the movie to me. Quite the experience LOL.Isabella xx

pain. <3
This is one of the saddest bl's I've ever watched. It left me broken, and I needed a break from bl's for a while.Story: It's kinda difficult to follow, but you'll manage as I did. Just rewatch a few scenes If you get thrown off lol.
Acting/Cast: The acting was fine, but sometimes I felt like the actors wanted certain scenes to be over. Then sometimes there was passion, just depends where you're at in the movie.
Music: I didn't really pay attention to the music, as my brain was still trying to function what was going on in the story.
Rewatch Value: No.
Overall: Not for the easily confused or weakhearted.
