Mrs. Cop

미세스 캅 ‧ Drama ‧ 2015
1. Both dramas deal with crime and investigation
2. In both exist corrupt officials who are willing to do anything for money, position/power
3. Villains in both dramas develop twisted personalities bec of how they were raised by their father
Personally, I enjoyed both of these dramas, they both kept me interested and both have amazing casts in which you'll love the protagonist and really hate the villains to their bones!

Both dramas are similar as they have police detectives & their struggle to fight against crime
This drama is also gives the same vibes of police investigation, procedures etc

Both female leads are single mother cops,
both showing the difficulty of keeping promises to their daughters, and the fear of the girls getting into danger.

Both have the theme of revenge for murder, in 'the guardian' its of the daughter, in 'mrs cop' its the father

Whilst 'mrs cop' is more lighthearted, 'the guardians' is more thrilling.

Mrs. Cop and Inspector Koo both feature brilliant female leads who step outside the traditional bounds of the law to track down deadly serial killers. Both dramas focus intensely on complex, high-stakes games of cat-and-mouse driven by sharp intuition, psychological warfare, and highly personal motives.

Brilliant Female Leads. In both dramas, the story revolves around fiercely intelligent, driven women who outsmart criminals. Mrs. Cop (Choi Young-jin): A seasoned, passionate police detective and working mother who will stop at nothing to catch murderers, fighting both crime and workplace corruption. Inspector Koo (Koo Kyung-yi): An eccentric, reclusive former police officer turned private eye/insurance investigator. She uses her razor-sharp deduction and gaming intuition to solve seemingly perfect crimes.

Relentless Cat-and-Mouse. ChaseUnlike standard police procedurals, both shows center on a specific, long-term duel with a dangerous serial killer. The detectives are obsessed with finding the one specific villain who keeps slipping through the cracks.

Morally Gray or Unconventional Tactics to catch a genius criminal, the protagonists often have to bend the rules. Both shows explore how far a good investigator is willing to go—stepping outside standard police protocol.

Personal Stakes and Vengeance. The hunts are not just routine police work; they are deeply personal. Both protagonists have tragic pasts related to the justice system and are driven by raw, personal motives to find the truth.

While the core dynamic of a female investigator chasing a killer is the same, they have very different tones. Mrs. Cop is a gritty, action-packed crime thriller dealing with family and police work, whereas Inspector Koo is a dark, quirky comedy with noir and thriller elements.

Not only does the main female protagonist care deeply for their child, they both feel deeply to bring justice to the world and shut criminals away. They also have their detective male leads who would rather run to their side than chase after a criminal.
