If you are looking for a great procedural crime drama - this one hits all the marks. Complex storyline of single female balancing home, work, kid, and sister with crime ridden workload to make you come unhinged.
Story: not new- another greedy, corrupt chaebols, cops and politicians who kill at random for power & $$. Set that against a justice driven female officer and kick-a@$ team who need to rid Korea of the corruptness. The storyline is full of twist, turns and complexity giving viewers a great ride.
Cast - strong, yet not overbearing. Well selected.
Music - well placed and fit the drama
Watch again? Probably not - nature of crime drama...
Most impressive was finally seeing a drama with a strong mature female lead who was not shackled by candy girl or lost identity or suffering low self confidence. This crime drama was about balance, family, and justice revenge.
side note: this villain was awesome, brilliant and crazy!

I feel like Mrs. Cop is too underrated for how well done it was. This is definitely, by far, one of the best police dramas I've seen. It never drifted off into a soppy love story or a drama solely focused on one case. They gave us a great case, they showed us the amount of effort and hard work needed to solve it, and they wrapped it up within four episodes. That's what I want to see in detective dramas, but even with all of that, I couldn't get into it as much as I would have wanted to.

Like I mentioned before, Mrs. Cop was written properly. We got the most out of it being a detective and action drama, every scene in the drama felt necessary for it to continue. And we got a couple of small love stories out of it that didn't change how the drama ran. This is a perfect example of how all police dramas and series should be like. However, because of how the story is set out, it took me this long after it aired for me to finish it. One part that I didn't really like was the amount of mother-daughter scenes in it. I'm glad we have a cop that cares for their family a lot, but Choi Young Jin put her job before it all, and I wish it wasn't like that. Also, I still don't like the male to female ratio in all police dramas. In every single one, there will always be more male cops than females, and it was like this in Mrs. Cop too. I want to find a good detective drama that has more females than males for once.

I can definitely compliment Mrs. Cop on the acting. It was exquisite, and each and every actor played their role extremely well. I'll mention my favourites of the series first. Set in supporting role, Lee Ki Kwang as Lee Se Won. I'm a huge fan of BEAST, so that was one of the main reasons I decided to watch this drama, but I also knew how good of an actor he was in Twenty Years Old. I loved this character and his acting was so well done, I honestly wish he had more lines throughout the drama. Next favourite was Kim Min Jong as Park Jong Ho. His character was superb, he was hilarious, charismatic, and a bit of a perv. And that just made me love him from start to finish. My last favourite was Lee Da Hee as Min Do Young. Although she fell into the rookie-of-the-team cliche, she pulled of her character amazingly, and I'm so glad to see her in another drama after I Hear Your Voice. Lastly, Kim Hee Ae as Choi Young Jin and Son Ho Jun as Han Jin Woo. Although they weren't in my top three favourite characters, I still loved them extremely so. A+ acting choices.

Because of the drama being an action and detective drama, not many people take notice of the soundtrack. The music producers have to put in a lot of effort for the music to be noticed, but that pretty much failed to happen. As I go through the actual soundtracks, they are very beautiful to listen to. But the only soundtrack that I actually took notice of was the foreboding one. The one that came on during intense and cynical scenes.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't be able to watch Mrs. Cop again. As much as I am glad that they didn't just do murder cases (because that's the main case for all detective dramas), it doesn't tickle my fancy to watch it again.

Overall, the drama had a well-done story besides the sexism ratio and overdone family scenes, a perfect cast and some beautiful listens, but it still could do with a few improvements. However, at least I don't regret the amount of time I put into watching Mrs. Cop.

I have to say this was one daebak drama! You won't want to miss it! One police drama where I actually believe they are real cops! It's realistic and action packed, the criminals they chase and catch are some pretty horrible people played by awesome actors. The action scenes were all on point and completely believable - I loved watching three of the team members in particular fight - they were GOOD!

Kim Hee Ae as Choi Young Jin was great as the team leader - she puts her whole heart and soul into her job and doesn't give up. Her family life outside of work is very sweet, her little daughter is adorable at both ages. and her sister was perfect in her role. And I loved how her friend/co-worker played by Kim Min Jung would pursue her ^^ Their scenes were always humorous :) Min Do Yeong (Lee Da Hee) was awesome in this role (I truly think she should continue to do more of these kinds of roles - it really suits her) she was stubborn and "gangster like" after she joins this team lol. Han Jin Woo (Son Ho Jun) was someone who was made into a real person b/c of Young Jin bringing him to the team - the scenes between him and Do Yeong were sweet and action filled and in the end they will leave you breathless ;) Lee Ki Kwang as the cutie of the team and his buddy Heo Jeong Do were a hilarious duo ^^ Son Byung Ho (as Chairman Kang) was definitely hateful - luckily I never got stirred up - I was actually amazed with how clever he could be in a dirty way - I hated the dude and wanted him to go down - he just never raised my blood pressure lol (and I have to say that would be due to the writer director and everyone else who put this together in such an amazing way) I could sit back and watch this thinking "daebak" all the time lol

Music - suited the drama, I don't remember hearing any particular song though - I only remember hearing instrumentals.

This is definitely a drama I will re-watch and I highly recommend it - If you're a fan of crime dramas, then this is one you won't want to miss! I absolutely loved this drama! I became a fan of a few of the actors through this drama ;)

I'm really surprised with this drama.. I have to confess I love police dramas or series, and usually they got me since episode 1 until the end.
Mrs.cop wasn't different, good plot, good rythm and perfect CAST and characters..
Personally, I think I'm loving the fact this drama had the perfect combination.. evils and good police plot. The writer of this drama is probably my hero in dramas right now. I always search women characters with strength, and finally.. I found ONE!. Kim Hee Ae as Choi Young Jin and lee da hee as Min do Young aren't weak women and either need the help of men to make their work, instead I can say they are BADASS. Above all, I wanna say, Lee da hee act and character is my new icon in kdramas. Hoooray girl!!!
The rest of cast is fantastic too, the police team is a family and I love that vibe!! Other thing I loved was the tension and chemistry between Son Ho Joon (as Han Jin Woo) and Lee da hee (Min do young) all time. I think they need other drama together, in lead roles!! lol.

Finally.. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with kdramas lately.. but Mrs.Cop was everything I needed.

P.s: If you love BEAST or know about Lee Gi Kwang .. then.. better watch this drama, maybe you'll want to call a cop like him!
I Hope you enjoy this drama too!!

Turgid and relentlessly predictable

Look, I’m never going to love a show like this.

The first half of this show is a let’s-pretend-we-are-saviours-of-the-poor-downtrodden-unfortunates. The second half is is the usual predictable gangster/corruption stuff. The script totally smacks of being written by someone who has zero understanding of what they are writing about. Everything from the emotions the characters are required to exhibit to the conversations that they have is totally unrealistic and wide of the mark. The gangsters are caricatures and there’s a lot of cringeworthy faux laughing. The plot and actor’s lines were so predictable that I was almost saying it with them—actually I did say it with them on a number of occasions. There’s a credibility gap as wide as ten ton truck in the way they behave. Dressed in plain clothes, they never identify themselves as police, but just wade into fist fights on every possible occasion, randomly throwing in a few gunshots without warning.

Not only that, but so many fragments of plot around the FL’s family hang off the edges of the main action like flailing fish and there is no credible character development. Son Ho Jun as Han Jin Woo simply looked embarrassed about being in the show at all. All the other characters had one mode of being and acted it out from beginning to end because they had no choice. I’m a real fan of Kim Hee Ae and that was why I picked up the show. But this is not one of her best performances.

All I can think is that this was the show where director Ahn Gil Ho learned from his mistakes, because Watcher and Stranger are light years ahead of this drama. But he had different writers to work with on those productions and, well, it really shows.

OK, it’s Sunday night bland entertainment, with nothing except fantasy-land porridge to offer. Was there anything to like about it? I think like is a bit strong… The OST made no impact on me whatsoever. The other production values were uninspiring and perfunctory. I only got through to the end in order to post this review. Jeez I need to go reward myself for diligence!

If you want something like this done properly, then I’d recommend "Live".

What my rating means: 4+ I forced myself to go through to the end of it, but only because I was committed to writing the review. It annoyed the hell out of me. Actively avoid.

OK, I'm just going to say I really did enjoy this series. The two female cops were awesome, the cast was awesome and the fighting scenes were awesome. I however, seriously HATED the last episode!!! I stopped watching the last 40 minutes or so because of how it was done.

STOP READING AFTER THIS IF YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW THE ENDING WAS

The villain throughout really got on my nerves. I know it's not real but I wanted him and his sidekick to really get punished but it didn't happen at all. It was like the writer didn't know what to do with the last episode. They gave a LOT of back stories for the characters. Even threw in some sappy romance at the last minute as well. That soured my mood more than justice not being served so I stopped watching it. If I had known the ending was going to end the way it did I would've just skipped the last two episodes.

There is a second sequel but I don't know if I will watch that.
