both have unattractive female lead, taking inner beauty theme, and finding first love. Both have cold hearted/arrogant guy who is handsome, cool, loyal, and have a good heart inside

Our Times is like the Taiwanese adaptation of 'He Was Cool'. Both 'bad guy' leads; both clumsy and innocent female leads. And both male leads have 'pasts'. Both awesome and worth watching!

The nostalgia feeling. Young shy girl going to college and growing up, falling in love of a friend. unwanted love. Different backgrounds. Friendship.

Both gave me the same feeling, I really recomend them.

Both of these have a very similar school vibe, and all of the past school memories are revived from one main character. And even the ending is similar as well!

Both male lead act like bad boy, but in the end they´re soft.
In She´s dating the gangster the main plot is that main lead pretend to have relationship with main female lead, so his ex will be jealous, and return to him.
In our times both leads have their crushes, but they are together, so these to work together to separate them.
In both they fell in love together and have sort of happy end.

It is the 108th year of Volcano High School. On the schoolyard, students and teachers hang in the air, competing against each other, using martial arts. Every student there is a martial arts expert, so it is not surprising to see tea leaves moving in the shape of dragons or hallway windows shattering into bits with no one touching them.

At Volcano High, the legend of the Secret Manuscript - the one who inherits these writings will rule the world - has been continuously passed down. The Secret Manuscript is more famous because it helped the principal Jang Oh Ja calm 17 years of internecine feuding due to the privatization of schools. From the outside, Volcano High School seems peaceful. However, a bitter showdown for the Secret Manuscript is at hand. Among the challengers is the assistant principal who thirsts for the principal's position; Song Hak Rim, and Jang Ryang, captain of the weightlifting team who dreams of becoming the best at Volcano High.

On a windy, rainy day with thunder and lightning, Kim Kyung Soo transfers to Volcano High, his ninth school for he has been expelled from eight other schools because he cannot manage the power he is gifted with. Having become a problematic student despite his intentions, Kyung Soo is determined to graduate from Volcano High no matter what happens. Volcano High regards Kyung Soo as the eye of a hurricane. Will Kyung Soo manage to graduate in the middle of the violent storm caused by the battle for the Secret Manuscript?

Both movies show stories of a male and a female teaming up to split up a couple.
However, the stage in life when that happens is different - the stakes are higher in "Honey Enemy", as the couple is about to get married in a few days time, whereas "Our Times" is about high school love.
Both worth a watch :)

It's not so much the story (they are both first love stories though and high school life, coming of age etc though) but the feel. Just very feel good cute movies with a bit of serious touch. Also touching on the trials and tribulations of growing up.

Similarities
-Both films tackle regret set in the female lead's youth.
-Both films are incredibly nostalgic and heart-warming
-Darren Wang is in both films
-The younger female leads are very naive and can be a bit unpredictable.
-Great cinematography
Differences
-Suddenly Seventeen is way more of a fantasy than Our Times.
-The main female lead in Suddenly Seventeen mentally turns back into her seventeen-year old self whenever eating a chocolate whereas the main female lead is looking back at the regrets of her youth.
- The relationship between the male and female lead is WAY better in Our Times than in Suddenly Seventeen. Not sure if it was the acting or plot, but the main male lead appeared to care less for the female lead throughout the film.
Both films are very charming and still very enjoyable. Worth a watch!!
