I love how original and cool of the plot that this drama has. Having a world inside of webtoon. wow! Hahah so ok, 'W' was an originally sci-fi drama because it was about having a world inside of a webtoon or a comicbook. But actually it was not just a sci fi, the drama also has other ingridients such as love story, suspense, comedy, and melodrama scenes. This was not another typical drama so if you're not into sci fi or fantasy genre type of movies and dramas, well this is not your cup of tea because the story was kinda' complicated and messy.

The first half of the drama will make your heart beats twice on its regular beating and will move your butt on your seat like there was something inside on it. That's how thrilling and electrifying this drama was.

The second half of this drama was kinda' complicated. At first I'm not into it just like other drama addicts but since I watched a lot of sci fi hollywood movies and dramas as well, I didn't drop this. I continue watching and surprisingly, the fall down of the story had make sense after watching few more episodes. I thought they just want to extend it but it doesn't seems like it. They were trying to put some twist on the drama that would make it different than any other and I want to congratulate them because they didn't fail! The story didn't go totally down the drain because it rose up again and was higher than the first half.

What I hate about this was they didn't elaborate completely what happened to the other characters of the webtoon.

The acting of Lee Jung Seuk was great as always. But Han Hyu Joo have made another type of acting. She did the "underacting" technique. Maybe she was been told about it or it was on the script. You can see that her character was so lame but knowing her previous shows, I know she was a good actress. Kim Ei Sung was the best actor in this drama for me. He can instantly change one character to another with completely different personality. He deserves a recogntion for this.

Overall this is a good drama! if you want something different, something extraordinary, then watch this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The story of this was originally what pulled me in, it was creative and something entirely new being introduced to the k-drama land. During the first few episodes, the plot was executed quite well - it was something that hooked viewers and kept them on edge. An hour was extremely short, it almost felt as if each episode was 20 minutes and each episode had a cliffhanger. They left you wanting more. However, as the romance became a main storyline everything started to become messy. Too many plots and conflicts were introduced and it was almost confusing. It felt like the writer rushed to get a ton of ideas in with only 16 episodes. Hence the rating of 8.5.

As being an avid fan of Lee Jong Suk's acting and a sucker for character development, I was extremely excited to see how the characterization would pan out. Needless to say, I was both disappointed and immensely satisfied by the end of the drama. All in all, Han Hyo Joo's character and acting turned out to be the biggest let down. I went in expecting a strong and independent female lead with so much potential, as she was in the beginning. However, as it dragged on more and more the only characterization I got from her was Kang Chul's girl. Also, her acting was almost always over exaggerated or awkward.

Kang Chul's character pretty much had little development, although having much potential for so much more. Which also limited Jong Suk's acting to that. It was a pity and disappointing with the way the writer went about those two.

Surprisingly though, the character that managed to be the dark horse was Kim Eui Sung who played Oh Seong Mo. It was absolutely phenomenal, I found myself pitying him one moment to hating him. Whenever he was on the screen I was completely at the edge of my seat. This particular role gives the drama catharsis and does it extremely well. Besides a couple other characters with the means of comic relief, the rest do not really strike as memorable nor interesting.

There wasn't many OSTs, as just a couple were used -- not one of these songs left an impact or were noteworthy. However, the music used did play an extremely good role in setting the mood.

Overall, this k-drama was extremely entertaining and a good run. Would recommend it, especially if you need a time filler!

Stunning Drama

I have watched this several times because I loved it so much. Everything about it, apart from some of the violence, was top class. The acting was superb. The story was highly creative and insightful. It totally blew me away, The webtoon artwork was outstanding. The male and Female leads had incredible Chemistry and were such fabulous actors. This is one of my favourite Korean Dramas. I only recently began to appreciate Lee Jong Suk . His performance in Pinnochio was also excellent. I woud highly recommend this Drama. The leading Lady was stunning.

Addictive action packed and overall a joyful ride!

I'm not even going to lie, this is my type of drama so my review might not be entirely without biases. I love the parallel worlds-isekai trope and it becomes a guilty pleasure just by existing.

That being said the execution for this drama is everything. It's fast paced, charming, intriguing and emotional at the same time. The chemistry between the main leads was off the charts. I think in terms of romance this is my favourite couple involving LJS. Second favourite would be Big Mouth and third Pinocchio and IHYV.

The FL is our girl out of town, the lens through we explore the new world, and she is such a joy to watch. She's lovable, witty, relatable and kind. I absolutely loved her.

ML is cool AF without being flawless. He is smart, considerate, strong and action driven. And I loved his reactions to all the new information he had to absorb. Also loved that he is not one to stop himself from showing emotion. When the man is broken you will know it and appreciate the sincerity and vulnerability that contrasts his usually cool persona.

Side characters are memorable and likeable without stealing the spotlight that belongs to the two main leads. The main doctor at the hospital can get a bit cartoony, but that is something that I'm willing to let go.

The plot in the comic world can be a bit predictable at times, with the bad guy at the very end being just your typical comic book villain... Personally I found his resolution a bit rushed, but with everything getting a bit spiced up when you include the nuances between the real world and the rules that connect both worlds. It gives a unique and fun experience.

All in all I will probably rewatch W. It's a show that has a mix of feel-good/thriller/emotional/sci-fi/romance. It has so much but it never feels like it's trying to do everything at once. Things flow naturally and effortlessly. Bravo!

I REWATCHED A LOT OF TIMES!

STORY: (10/10) I was intrigued by the storyline of this one. It is complicated, unique and confusing that’s why I am totally captivated. This may not be liked by a lot but telling a story about a human who suddenly appears in a comic book is refreshing unlike the typical drama we had right? Then as the story progress you’ll find the comic book character is already falling in love with the human and is already in the real world. HAHA. I just love the uniqueness of this drama.

ACTING/CAST: (10/10) Not a fan of Lee Jung Suk and this is the first drama where I saw Han Hyo Joo. Nevertheless, I think that the casting of the main leads is good because of their chemistry. Lee Jung Suk portrays well the character of a rich handsome man. For Hyo Joo, I find her adorable. Aside from Oh Sung Moo, the side characters weren’t that impactful though. Still rating this a higher one because of how I loved this drama. :D

REWATCH VALUE: (10/10) One of my go-to dramas when I feel like re-watching an old one! Still feels good on the 2nd watch!

OTHER FACTORS:

CGI: This drama requires a lot of CGI because the drama’s genre. One thing that’s questionable is the CGI on Oh Sung Moo’s (Yeon Joo's father) face. That’s just weird.

OVERALL: (10/10) Absolute masterpiece! If you’re a fan of rom-com and comic book based dramas with a hint of suspense and slight action, you might wanna check this out!

One of the best dramas

W is definitely one of the best dramas i have seen. The story is different and amazing and brings our fantasy to life. Falling in love with a fictional man. Lee Jongsuk as Kang Chul is a delight. The chemistry between the leads is superbly shown. However in episode 11-14 I think the storyline is streched too much and it got really boring. The last episode has nice plots and the beginning of the drama is must. W definitely is the drama if you are looking forward to watch mystery and crime. The action in the drama is subtle. W contains many genres like comedy, romance, mystery and crime. Overall the drama is pretty good but it is not worth rewatching as you will already know the plots.

From the beginning it was a strange drama.
I have read several positive reviews, but except for the cutemoments between the two protagonists, the story was too messy.
Too many jumps between reality and manga, there were so many of it that at a certain point I could no longer understand in which world the action took place.
The actors were very good, even if some characters were completely useless.
I did not like the plot at all.
I admit that it was a different story from those seen so far, but it was not captivating from my point of view. I did not know whether to focus on the plot, on being able to understand the various movements from one world to another or on finding a logical link between the various situations.
I managed to get to the end without dropping the drama just out of curiosity (I confess I love Lee Jong Suk, I held out for this reason too!)
But I'm still confused...
In short, I do not say not to look at it, but it certainly is not among the dramas I would like to look at again.

Seen it 10+ times. Still love it <3

I first watched this kdrama back in 2020, when I was first getting into them. I can’t recall i how found out about it, or why I decided to watch it, but however I did, I’m so thankful.

I think I cried a lot after watching this show, it’s that type yk, leaves some impact, deep, plus is literally has the. Cutest. Romance. Ever. Like these two actors will always be a couple in my eyes.

The story is just so unique and special, and the actors play the parts wonderfully like it’s so believable and real when you watch it. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants to like dive deep into a great show.

All the plot lines are fantastic and you’re never gonna get bored, cuz there’s always the drama, surprise, and the romance to keep you involved.

I’ve never written a review but im watching this for the 10th time now and I love this show so much I think it deserves so much attention. It’s shocking that this show is 6 years old.

I think think that Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joon are two of the best actors I have ever watched. I genuinely felt like this story was all so real and I think that’s what made this show emotional too.

I don’t think my words do any justice to how good this show is, but like, if anything is a good drama, it’s this one.

W: two world, is a masterpiece, and I think it’s a kdrama that’ll stay with me forever~

Interesting Plot + Tepid Romance

This didn't work for me for several reasons.

❤ The romance was disappointing as I felt the two actors didn't have much chemistry or connection at the start of the series. Mid-season the two finally found a romantic vibe, and I did believe their love by the end of the series.

❤ The story itself was interesting. I'm not sure I found it all that plausible, but it certainly sucked me in to it. I couldn't stop watching to see what happened next.

❤ Probably the most interesting part is as Kang Chul becomes a fully realized character, the madness of Oh Sung-Moo grows. The performance of the actor playing the writer, Kim Eui-Sung, was amazing. He did an excellent job portraying this poor unraveling soul struggling between reality and fiction.

❤ I wish the side characters from the webtoon, Yoon So-Hee and Seo Do-Yoon, were given a bit more depth and interaction within the story. It would have made for nice layers for the two to be more integral to the plot rather than as side pieces for Kang Chul to use as needed.

❤ The cinematography and action sequences were really well done. Jee Jong Suk, playing Kang Chul, had some excellent and memorable moments.

❤ The biggest problem, or at least the one I noticed the most, was the sound production. It was somewhat hard to hear the actors when they were in crowded or outdoor scenes, particularly when they were on the phone. I noticed myself turning up the volume multiple times during those scenes, something I never thought about prior to other shows.

Ok, although this drama is one of a kind..a fantasy where webtoon came to life, i honestly find it to be abit complicated and too illogical. i find it to be, not enough explanation on certain situation that leads to more questions than answer. Seems to me the plot is rushy and not properly well written. After been spoiled by other Kdramas, i could say the chemistry between the lead actors are a bit off too. If you're up into something out of the box, and messy...this is for you. sometimes, we need something to trigger our own creativity, so this is something creative for you. it is just not my cup of tea.
