Hi friends.
I have a habit of watching shows which no one watches and giving reviews. So I started this show after seeing there is no review in MDL about this show.

This show starts with college life and goes to after 7 years. But college life scenes are not looking fresh bcoz the actors are older enough to play college students. Then after the leap both leads still fight for various reasons but they love each other deeply too. Which we can easily guess.

I like Jia Wu and Ke San couple more than Yu fei and Chen Yi. Jia Wu looks very friendly and approachable. George Hu is another reason for me to complete this show. Songs are okay. The scenes which made me really angry are, the unnecessary plot at the end. And she leaves him and comes back after getting better. Those are not needed, since they wanted to drag the episodes, they used these plot twists.

There is nothing much as art in this show.

Rewatch - no no never
Music - k
Acting - could be better
Overall 5/10

Starting is good ,it's story line little bit match with the" A love so beautiful "(chinese drama) by watching starting of its episode as I like "A love so beautiful" drama so love to watch this to think that what it will be it's ending who will get whom but after 10 episode it looks like that they extended the drama with no use ..The past emotional story of lead actor character didn't connect emotionally. Continue to watch because waiting to see how the lead actor and actress will meet but they took it to 34 episodes then again tragedy which really not connect me . Only because of all the character of this drama I completed watching it .They all did great job their acting protect the drama otherwise nothing special in this drama .
Love story is good .
All I can say it is a one time watch .

READ BEFORE YOU WATCH IT

first I'm a fan of George hu.. obviously watched because of himm.. all the lead in this drama is good.. they're cute, annoying, evil that u feel like slapping them or even so stupid that you just shouted at your screen..

buttt hellooo.. it took them 31 episode before they start to be in love and get in relationship.. the story start of good until episode 7 to 10.. but then it start to be really² dragging with new characters keep coming in every few episode, and bringing new problems while the old conflicts haven't been solved yet..

"Now I finally understand that actually my dream has always been you" (Episode 31)

Well, welcome to the best drama of George Hu. Honeslty it has a good written plot, this is a sweet and lovely drama. I want to give you 3 amazing things of this drama for you to know better this show without spoilers:

1-This drama contains high school moments of the characters, but not something endless like in others dramas, just specific moments which we can understand the characters and their journeys. Also, those are super funny, cute, and sad.
2-The characters, you can truly see changes and developing since they were teenangers to this point when they are adults.
3.- The love is so incredible that pain, you can feel all the emotions between the lead couple, and it is full of sweet moments, and yes, there's romantic moments with color paints, I mean, he is an artist.

The things I didn't like:

1-I think 39 episodes, make this so long, there's a lot of unnecesary scenes and twist, however you can still enjoy it all, because despites of that, it is addictive
2-This crazy evil antagonist, God...the tipic girlfriend of the man lead who does not understand that he doesn't love her.

Here two SPOILERS:
3-The forced relationship between the second leads. SPOILER --> (Qiu Jia Wu never loved Ke Shan, suddenly she gets pregnat with his child and when he finds it out, he starts to love her, dude..that it is not realistic)
4-SPOILER--> Ok, everything is really ok in the last episodes, truly amazing, this final and dangerous fight with the villian, and all, really cool. But why she had to get blind? The drama could just end in a happy ending without the facts of those 2 last episodes. However, it does has a happy ending at last n.n.

The OTS is amazing, George Hu is a good actor and singer. The princial theme and all the songs playing along with every scene is really well built.

Finally, does it worth to watch? Of course! You're gonna laugh, cry, feel anger, love and many things.

Underrated Please watch!

People have their own ways of watching a film thank goodness! I must keep this in mind while reading low reviews for this drama. I loved it on the whole though leaving some reservations for some minor disappointments.

I liked the story. College art major couple meet, many tugs for him to open up to her very open adoration, cute moments, and then parting with misunderstanding. Seven years later, they meet again, etc. There’s a lot of complications they go through, the road to their happy ending (oops spoiler, sorry) not smooth. That is the bad part..those complications. It is overly, ridiculous, and bad timing. Timing because you get to a point where you think it’s wrapping up, boom here comes a twist, and another, and another.

The lead couple fits their role. George Hu really played his role well. He was cold when needed and warm when suited. This is his film where I feel he really portrays his maturity as an actor. Adi Kan is new to me but when she looks at someone and smiles, her warmth touches even the wicked (well it didn’t remotely for the antagonists) would melt. She was awesome as a student and then later year role. The side love interests of Hong Yao and Sharon Kwon was major in story but some twists to making her jealous of her best friend was irritating.

The chemistry was mature. Kisses of Hu and Kan were sweet and plenty enough as cdramas go. Their struggles to finally be a couple made this drama good. Without the said unnecessary twists, it’s really a unique love story so enjoy it for that. It’s one of the best endings I feel as well so it’s worth it if you’re looking for a beautiful love story. Music is music so if it moves you good. It’s there and it moved me, adding to feels of what’s happening.

I’d definitely rewatch it again as I loved the coming together of this couple. They are unforgettable!

Enjoyable Drama With Good Acting

After exhausting myself over a huge amount of K-dramas, I explored into Taiwanese/Chinese dramas. I first chanced upon Summer Fever and was impressed by George Hu's acting and Art In Love followed.

As K-dramas average 16 episodes, I realized that Taiwanese/Chinese dramas are pretty lengthy and this was 39 episodes (phew)..... So, I mentally prepared myself to not rush the watch and see if the story line and the acting was interesting enough to sail me through.... and it did.

I enjoyed this drama very much. The story is not outstanding, but believable, about a couple brought together through art from college to adulthood. Their journey and struggle with love, and all characters of family, friends and colleagues at work relationship were paced out nicely and effectively. I learned a bit too about the wheeling and dealing of the art industry and what the business is like in the real world. The show was directed well with second leads and evil plots, each having interesting stories of their own, nicely acted out and tied up with its end, well through third quarter of the episodes and not left to the very end. This left us more time to watch the main lead's relationship struggles.

The leads actor/actress had good chemistry and I again enjoyed watching George Hu, this time in his role as Tao Yu Fei. He strikes me as a really good actor and he always becomes the character itself with ease. In this drama, he was captivating as a cold, bitter and ambitious young artist who has a hard time believing in love to eventually becoming a well-rounded, generous and successful man, un-afraid to pursue the love he yearns for. Adi Kan who played Li Chen Yin matched his character perfectly.

All in all, if you enjoy watching the evolvement of a romance which is not too rushed, I do recommend Art in Love to you.

Enjoy

If you don't expect any story or if you want to know the value of your time you can try this

I am really very confused as to which genre this drama is,
1. Love:- Impossible, abandoning and hurting the loved ones many times is not love, whatever may be the problem should face it together is love.
2. Romance:- out of 39 episodes, altogether hardly you can find around 5min romance.
3. Comedy:- Nowadays a 4th-grade child can do more creative comedies.
4. Action:- In 3 to 4 scenes you can see but it's a shame that both the times the male lead failed to protect the female lead.
Overall you can say that the director is not well planned or prepared in each episode, I think she has simply directed what comes to her mind at that moment.
Even after watching this worst drama, I don't regret it because all actors are good-looking (especially I like Li Qi and Yifan) and contributed their best even the script and direction are worst.

One of very few dramas with great chemistry between ML and FL

I started watching this drama mainly because of George Hu...and was glad to see the second ML - Prince He from Story of Yanxi Palace.

Story: Storyline is quite similar to A Love so Beautiful with several added evil plots. Great job with the flashbacks to the time they were in Art school. Could be better if the ML and FL get back together in the first half of the drama instead of towards the end.

Acting/Cast: Excellent job casting and acting all around. The main characters are all well developed. Great performance from George Hu - fits his role perfectly, from a college grad who didn't know what his dream was to a confident young man who followed his heart back home. Hong Yao also did an outstanding job as the second ML portraying famous basketball player who loved the FL unconditionally for seven years. This is the first time I saw Adi Kan's work. She is also perfect for this role! I could see her character developed from an innocent girl in Art school who fell head over heels for her Senior and followed him like a little puppy to a mature grown woman seven years later that still loved her Senior unconditionally. Will definitely check out her other dramas.

Music: Loved the music - Don't Say Goodbye sang by George Hu

Rewatch: Yes! all the great scenes when the FL and ML get together...skip all the evil plots!

I have to say the first few episodes were a drag. I started watching it mainly because of the lead actor. But got bored therefore left it for a while and came back when they reached adulthood. Storyline got better then.
The story is OK
I do like the OST.
As for the acting it was just average.
Overall is an average show. Kept me entertained. Not a lot was discussed about art. Found the lead actress character too immature and not realistic in the workforce. Actually I prefer to watch the interactions of the supporting actor and actress.
Give it a go if there is nothing to watch, but definitely not going back over it again.

There is nothing inherently special about Art In Love that i have not seen in other Chinese dramas before. Here To Heart, Memories Of Love, My Sunshine, and Where The Lost Ones Go all have the same premise: the leads fall in love but for one reason or another one of them has to go away and ends up hurting the other, time passes, they meet again and butt heads. Art in Love also doesn't seem to know where to put its focus, there was too many conflicts and resolutions that it ended up becoming a little draggy, it felt unnecessary and it could have been better if they picked a few of them and explored them a little more.
What I enjoyed most, however, was that the female lead, Li Chen Yin grew from college to adulthood. In college she was naive and overly bubbly who would only put her foot down occasionally, but in her adulthood she was more mature and stood her ground more often. I think that actress Adi Kan did this really well.

I think that the lead actors did a good job. In many Chinese dramas i find that they rely mostly in telling the audience what the characters are feeling rather than showing us, but in Art In Love,on many occasions, they focused on the expressions of the main characters rather than having them say something and i think that those expressions conveyed the feeling better than be told about them. George Hu's micro expressions are amazing, by the way. And Adi Kan did a really good job as well.

I didn't take too much notice of the music but i know that George Hu sang at least one of them and i loved it.

I dropped this show before the end. Too many cdrama tropes and, by the time I dropped it, I was like everything has happened to this woman, even multiple times, besides being kidnapped but seeing as there were like 9 episodes left there is still time. It started off really strong and, having an art degree aka being a certified art nerd myself, I thought maybe I’d like it but you know how some dramas face that mid drama slump and manage to crawl out of it? It might’ve gotten slow in the middle to stretch out the run time but in the end when it’s over you’re like yeah, ok, that was a good drama! To try and avoid that, this drama tried to pull every trick in the book. But you could really just see it as a cheap way to draw the number of episodes out. If you don’t have enough material for 39 episodes make it 20 or 30, tell a good story, we don’t need all the tropes, every trope like cheating, shootings, assassination attempts, injuries, Hospital stays, random surprise pregnancies, fake pregnancies, crazy exes, kidnappings, etc (Some of those things are in this drama)! While dramas aren’t supposed to be based 100% on real life because, life is non linear and doesn’t make narrative sense, dramas are supposed to mirror aspects of real life and be set basically in reality, unless it’s a fantasy drama but still the characters interactions, motives, and actions are still based firmly in reality even if they can fly. These people are some of the most unfortunate people ever or it’s unrealistic to the point that it breaks the immersive experience it is supposed to be. Btw, most of the misunderstandings could’ve been solved after a few episodes had the main guy just not been a jerk and been honest with his feelings/ kept in contact with main girl over the years and woo hoo a 10 episode or so drama. If they wanted to draw it out to like 20 he could be trying to woo her in the next episodes. In my opinion it’s not worth the watch but folks, if you have the time and like all of those drama tropes/annoying and mostly unnecessary plot building devices have at her. I’m just warning you in advance if you’d like to watch something else. After watching the 1st 30 episodes, maybe more I'm not sure, I was like meh, I wish I just watched Her Private Life again, both the girls are museum curators but HPL is a much better story overall.
