Same Same Is Not The Same (2015)

Not the best, but not that bad either

I love how we get a peek into thai culture and customs, as it's very different from what most of us are used to. The story is mainly about the LGBT+ community's fear or rejection, coming out and society's current state, where a lot of people still aren't that open minded and accepting, and I feel that they managed to portray this pretty well.

I didn't enjoy how they came out to his mother. It was just awkward and not realistic, and in the end when they did get her approval to date, there was unnecessary undressing.
Another thing, the sister. She was reduced to a creepy fujoshi who enjoyed watching her brother struggle as a gay man, solely because of his sexuality. She recorded the whole situation, instead of stepping in and being on his side, or trying to convince their mother.

The acting was okay, and the production was alright. The story has potential, but should be worked on a little more. Not something I'd watch again, but I do hope it gets a remake sometime.

Confusing but not that bad

The sister was so fucking disgusting, but she was a way of showing the fetishization of straight girls who just see two guys making out and literally think it's so hot and cute. Its killing me that she didn't even think of helping but just stood there and recorded the whole thing and just chat about it with her friends. I didn't understand what happened at the end honestly.

The way that they decided to come out it just unrealistic but probably they thought that there wasn't any other way since he knew that she wouldn't get it otherwise??

Overall, confusing but its a 2015 movie, i didn't have high expectations

En verdad para el tiempo que fue sacada al público y plataforma se puede decir que es una de las series emblemáticas de BL en short film ya que no existían tantas o más bien no había series que tocaran este tema de cómo los padres hacen frente y como los chicos comen valor para enfrentar a sus padres y demostrarle que su sexualidad cual es en verdad, sin miedo solo buscando demostrar que love is love ???? por eso es una historia más allá de una genialidad es un símbolo de que se debe iniciar por algo para lograr grandes cosas tanto en lo personal como el camino a otros
