In both shows you basically have to trust each other to win. Of course there are people who just like to see the world burn and are only looking out for themselves. We have the hero protecting the damsel but can we really trust him? Engaging and intriguing- you will be glued until the last second.

A group of persons get into a psychological game in which they have to find out the truth, who is trustworthy and how to savely get out of this game.

Both shows belong to the genre death game. Whereas the participants in squid game are randomly picked belong the participants in tomodachi game to a secretive friends groups. All the games are entertaining and fun. Either way both shows need to be binged or you die of curiosity. After finishing Squid Game it’s a nice next step to watch TG when you’re still in the mood for the genre.

Both drama has smart male leads and the characters were forced to enter game unwillingly. Games were all for interesting as well as tricky.

Tomodachi Game is the absolute power ceiling of psychological game manga while upholding the spirit of a death game. While a debt game may sound low-stakes initially, Tomoge's thematic execution and psychological warfare make it far more compelling than any game with deaths in it. R4 is a more high-budget high-octane version with immaculate set designs and incredible acting.
