I  had a lot of expectations but I was disappointed ... "Steel Rain" takes  a step forward, imagining a scenario where the threat of nuclear war on  the Korean peninsula becomes imminent. Spectators  witness what unfolds after the unnamed North Korean ruler in the film  is overthrown in a coup and an even more belligerent commander takes his  place. The film is a skepticism of the alliance between Korea and the US. which is boring because it even irritates the patriotism that Korea has towards the United States. Conflicts  between parties are also clear: South Korea's conservative regime aims  to proclaim war as the new president-elect strives to prevent the  conflict. Despite  the turbulent international and domestic situations, Uhm and Kwak, who  share the same name, develop a brotherly bond and communicate frankly  for the intentions of each side which gives a dramatic and humanistic  touch to the film which in short is good but expected more emotion.

I didnt understand the title, until I did...

North/South Korea is a movie subject FAVOURITE of mine so I was curious about this one, and contemplated watching it (I Love these types of spy movies); I am also a HUUUUGE BigBang fan, so that trailer where crooked is playing settled it for me. I Had to watch this (lol).

Something that I really enjoyed about this movie was how they showed "a day in the life of-" for both character, the northern one and the southern one. That comparison made it glaringly obvious how very different their lives were even though they were similar age and occupation (both had government type jobs).

Everything was very exciting and tense until a little ways in to South Korea, when they are having their weird road trip bonding. The movie lost its steam for me there, but culturally I still found it interesting; how all of these simple little things in one place were not little or simple at all in another (I mean that both way, not just south to north).

Overall nothing really pulled me in, so this is not a movie I would watch again. The excitement and intrigue was interesting, but like i said, it didn't pull me in. The acting was decent, and the story was fine, but there just seemed to be something missing.
