Both are dark stories with sex work as an important part of the story. They're also both stories featuring mlm protagonists that involve violence.

Both are BL films about the difficulties that follow a romance between a male prostitute and a closeted gay man.

Both movies have a lgbt theme. No Regrets with gay prostitution, while Night Flight deals with bullying. They're both beautiful movies.

Both stories have protagonists who are sex workers. They have a grungy and romantic element to their stories as well.

Both films tell the story of a male sex worker who is in love with one man.

Both these films seem to want to portray the importance of not letting love escape your grasp. They both show a closeted gay man falling deeply in love with another dude.

Both films show a closeted gay man falling in love with another guy. He decides to get married to a woman, however, breaking his lover's heart.

Both are lgbtq+ movies that feel sincere. One character does sex work, one character is closeted, one characters meets an unfortunate fate... the relationship feels alittle push and pull in both (in egoist in the beginning at least).

NR is about a man who sells himself to be able to survive, whereas in TCMDOC he agrees to kiss his schoolmate to save him from ratting him out to his wife about his unfaithfulness. Both male leads are reluctant to fall in love with the second male lead. Both face obstacles. Both have open (happy) endings. I enjoyed both films and I definitely would recommend both!
