Due to explicit scenes, no minor should watch that movie.

When I heard about this movie, I thought "Tssss, another movie with a poor plot standing as an excuse to say it's not porn". Then I red international critics praising it, so it got me curious. I saw the trailer, and I knew I had to watch it.

There is a plot. It's the tense fight between a rich that seems to have everything since his birth, and a poor that desperatly want to survive without anyone's help. One who fall in love at first sight, and the other who wants to avoid feelings. Who will give up first?

This movie uses silences as a real way of speaking. Since you won't have one useless line, each one is used wisely. Same thing goes for the shots. I really, really liked the way this movie was directed.

I can understand though that this movie isn't for everyone. Personnally, I'm not fond of Yaoi, so I even skipped some scenes

"No Regret" was my first adventure in this genre. A love between a poor and a rich is zzzz... Besides, the theme homossexuality is still a tabu in some countries. When you add those explicit scenes... So I thought it had to be boring, reason why I avoided yaoi-themed movies since then.

I was wrong. Those things are on the story, but we can't deny that it has its own way to develop it. Su-min is a poor man who goes to the big city trying to be someone; blind by his proud, he tries to succeed without no one helping. Jae-min is a playboy who has everything he ever wanted, but it seems he never experienced love before. The way they interact the whole time is so sutile, and at the same time is so intense... Su-min, Jae-min and the rest of the characters are people living their own lives, without that "protagonist-personality" and way of thinking so present on romantic movies. There's not heroes and villains. All we see is just people.

Like Juniko ?? said here, "each one (line) is used wisely". That's a story conveying extra-real feelings, bringing us the real emotions in our own real lives. More than romantic dialogues, the movie talks in the action, the gesture, the finest expression of emotion, at the point the story flows by that aspect. The whole thing goes naturally. It's not like a boring scenario that had a good make-up.

Has been a while since I watched a movie like this one, so I watched again a lot. Not only because of the sex scenes, I'm not a pervert! I just love seeing their love being build in such a rich way.

If any of you have such a good recommendation, please tell me. Thanks in advance. ^^

Love explicit scenes! i dislike when people bash these type of films for having Intense scenes assuming its gonna be porn of course bl films will try any chance to see if they can add a love scene this is there moment after all but they as well have a story to tell like i said its a moment to shine and enlighten what happens behind hidden glances and actions. now if a minor is watching this and the rating is not for minors thats on the minor. but that having said its a well put film like this because after all your watching a film of two males that are in love . They are showing there love the only way they believe it can be felt fully.

This film was good.
It was nicely done and i loved the story behind it .Very beautiful, the play in lighting, once again in bl films is striking. How love blossom even in the darkest of places and i love how the story changes from dark to light to dark and light once again. Showing the struggles of his love on both sides. The guys were hot so its a plus. it was a nice watch. had alot of symbolism at play, especially towards the end where im sure alot of people will start to get lost especially first time watchers i believe, since it starts becoming darker and brutal in terms of emotion and displaying that emotion.

The scene towards the end had alot of depth into it. how one can become blinded by love and the other still not able to express it correctly. and how the Title of this Film literally Takes a role in this movie. the ending scene although it was slightly over the top it showed that revenge is never the answer so much struggles were captured in this move, from love, social acceptance, revenge, hope, change. personally i liked this film i have seen far greater films but these types of films although underrated are probably the most beautiful because not everything is able to mesh but u see what is going on and again reminds me of society how we assume it should go well but sadily it doesnt not everything is as u believe it should be. would recommend if u are into capturing the depth of movies or if u have free time to kill.

This film No Regret is a rare gem!, it totally blew my mind away, so prepare yourself to watch something who is going to give you a roller coaster of pure emotion. The story is beautiful and heartbreaking, the interpretation of the two main lead (Kim Nam Gil and Lee Young Hoon) is really phenomenal, they succeed to convey so much emotions and passion on the screen that it feels real that you don't see them acting a role which is a true gift for the audience.
Director Leesong Hee knows how to film, the cinematography is exceptional with passages of intense colors for the happy moments and black and white for the sad one.
So please watch this film you will not be disappointed and do not pay to much attention to the previous bad reviews, because each of us has his own sensitivity regarding movies.

I watched this movie because of recommendation. It has a good story somehow and the acting of the actors was really good. If you have any plan to watch this film then you can't stand for long a hardcore love scene of man to man. Just stop watching it because it talks about a love story between a rich man and prostitute man.

Su-min is an orphan who, having turned 18, is required to leave his orphanage. Unable to pay for university, he heads for Seoul where he works various jobs to pay for computer classes. One of those jobs is driving drunks home from bars. After losing his factory job, Su-min ends up taking a job at a host bar. Initially the boss of this host bar is reluctant to take him on, as he knows from experience that openly gay hosts will often leave when they become romantically involved with one of their clients. Having given up on love, Su-min believes that this won't happen to him, until one day a man from his past enters the host bar. That man, Jae-min, is a former driving client, who has fallen in love with Su-min. Su-min refuses his advances, and accepts him as a client only once, and threatens to kill him if he hires him again. Jae-min is undeterred, and after several weeks go by, Su-min gives in. They are very happy in their relationship until Jae-min's mother discovers them together. She orders Jae-min to marry the woman he's been dating halfheartedly. Su-min is angry. With another man from the host bar, they kidnap Jae-min one night and take him to a shallow grave in the forest. Su-min watches passively as his colleague throws dirt on Jae-min, but eventually moves to stop the plan. His colleague already depressed over a two-timing girlfriend, whacks Su-min with the shovel and leaves the two there in the grave. Jae-min later awakens and takes Su-min to the car and they crash a tree while going back. As dawn breaks in, the two of them start to awake at the same time cops show up at the scene but inside, without paying attention to the cops, Su-min and Jae-min silently reconcile.

I just copy the summary in Wikipedia
;) and I read some write ups about this film was Internationally Compete in Berlin and other countries. Thumbs up for two great actors in this movie, Lee Yeong-hoon and Kim Nam-gil :))

I just finished this movie and my response is this: "I.... what?" The last 20 minutes are like you are watching a completely different movie, which happens to also be a student amateur film. I don't even know how to rate this. Do I rate it for the first 1.5hrs, or do I rate it for the last half hour? I honestly don't even know at this point...

Monumental work for Korean independent movies!

Where was I in 2006? Dang, doing stupid things and nowhere close to this gem. You have to grow up to this. And grow up in all senses.

This showed South Korea inside out, not just as gay intolerant and hypocritical mainstream community, but corrupt, patriarch, insensitive, dirty on the inside. And Kpop smile on the outside. (no movie has nothing to do with Kpop, but if you know the industry, you know)

I'll start with the ending. Promise no spoilers, but if you watch close the last 10 minutes could stop at any point. We go from tragedy to triumph every minute of the ending. Director could choose to cut at any moment, and we could have been hysterical regardless. He made a right choice though...right?

The whispering scene (you will know if you watch it): the most magical moment between two humans. We all want a moment like that in our life to remember. What a string to pull!

Story is so...whats the right word? because "raw" doesn't do a true justice. You have to reach a certain point in life to realize that everything we do is based on the trauma of some sorts we had as a child or growing up.

Sets are just faultless and it feels like its part of the emotional rollercoaster this project puts you through.

If you are for quality, this is it!

Romantic, sad and wonderful

I liked this movie a lot. It was different from your typical dark and depressing gay movie. It was romantic, sad and wonderful.

I'm glad they got their happy moments in the film (even though they were shortlasting), and even a decently happy ending (if u can call it a happy ending), where neither of them died. I've seen that happen a bit too many times in this type of genre.

The story is realistic and I absolutely love the script. Acting was great and so were the characters. The OSTs were also stunning. Overall, a great watch.

This film is dark, in parts.

Not only the theme is dark at times, but the actual cinematography is often done with the lighting behind, so you can't see much definition in the characters' faces. Especially night scenes and indoor scenes were very poorly lit.

I did feel like there wasn't enough interaction, after the two main characters' first meeting, to justify the rich guy's level of obsession, and also that the poor guy's reaction to being sought after was inexplicably aggressive, and rude - for no reason I could fathom. That's down to the script, though.

Otherwise the film was very good. The acting excellent as expected; Kim Nam Gil never fails to deliver. Generally, the plot was interesting, and held my attention.
Overall, I enjoyed the film and, literally, wish I could have seen more of it.

A first class story telling ... you will be saying 잠깐 만요 !!! at the end

A hard hitting 2006 story that takes you on a roller coaster ride. It is powerfully scripted and very, very well executed by the actors and production team. I wish I could add that in BOLD type ... the movie blew me away. Korea has produced a few golden oldies in this genre that are absolutely first class ... and this is one of them in my opinion. I have watched this several times and have absolutely 'no regret' doing so, there is always something to take away from watching it ... how to be a better human being.

It makes me wonder what the hell happened since 2006 that made Korea go all coy on these more realistic life stories ... not that I don't like the current crop of post 2020 Korean BL's but I like these stories too because, more than anything, they cast a powerful light on the human heart and all the complexities of thought and emotion that surround the character's world view of life and love and attraction and struggle and pain and death and what makes you keep on going ... or not as is sadly sometimes the case.

Spoiler: even though I have seen this movie a several times ... it always has me in tears .... those last few scenes of beautiful Ga Ram (Kim Dong Wook played that character beautifully) ... are just heart crushingly tragic 。:゚(;´⌓`;)゚:。. Why do the beautiful souls go so soon?? When Song Jae Min is calling Lee Su Min and can hear his phone call in the car park ... I just want to scream out 잠깐 만요 !!! The movie really draws you in ... it is that good ... AND ... and there is a cheeky surprise ending \(‾‿◝ )/
