One of the best dramas I've ever watched

Such a good story and great acting. I did wish there was romance, but its still great. The actors were great and the music was spot on.

A very good psychological thriller

This is a psychological thriller, that’s what it is.

The first episode was a little patchy and all over the place. I had a hard time keeping track of what I thought was forgettable characters (including Seo Ye Ji, who is the reason I watched this show in the first place.

Came episode 2 onwards and bam, I got hooked! It’s a show you can easily binge-watch because almost every episode ends on a cliffhanger.

Be prepared to be slightly disturbed by the cult doings in this show because they are evil. But the acting were all executed so flawlessly.

Don’t worry about the ending. No cliffhanger and is all good.

Save Me is a journey worth travelling.

Everything about Save Me is captivated, they have built up the world for the viewers to be invested in perfectly. Save Me is the type of show where every details and every information will make sense at the end. I was worried that the show will get me lost in details, but thankfully it didn't.

All the actors were phenomenal except, for me, Ok Taecyeon. I've never seen him act before, but his acting got better after the first couple episodes so that was a relief. The villain actors have done their characters so well that you can't help but hate them! And that's coming from someone who loves villain characters.

Would I rewatch it? Yes, but not soon as I need to recover and watch something tooth-achingly sweet after it.

Would I recommend it? YES! Even to people who don't watch kdrama often.

Story - The story for this drama was awesome! As I have never seen a drama with this type of plot before, the second I saw it I knew it was going to be good!

Cast - I loved the cast so much! I have never seen any of the cast in anything other than this and I have officaly become a fan of all of them lol.

Rewatch - I never rewatch shows, unless its a very rare exeption, and I can tell you in a year or so I see myself definietly re watching this!

Music - I loved the music, it wasnt overplayed and played at the right times.

Overall - This drama is definitelty my favourite drama ever! Its fine that it doesnt have romance, I feel romance would take away from the story if it was in this drama, though I did ship Dong Cheol and Sang Mi. :3

I didn't have much expectation for this show as I was watching it because the storyline seems really interesting and Taecyeon is inside.
However,  Woo Do Hwan totally stole my heart so much more than Taecyeon (I'm so sorry) I ship Dong Cheol because he is so true to himself even though it got him into so much trouble. (He's so dashing too)

This story really shows that how extreme certain people may be after having faith in the religion but this show made it real bad and disgusting. How disgusting humans can be in order to gain power and how bad the society is. Be it in the show or not, some times it's just how the society works nowadays. The rich gets richer and can do 'mostly' whatever they want to have their own personal gains.

Storyline is amazing. Full stop.
Nothing like what other kdrama would do, not much of a love story but a lot of kinships and bromance.
Bromance game were quite strong despite some 'loop holes' that i find it weird but nah.. Not allowed to give you spoilers.

Every cast has their own story at the end of the day and that's what makes this show perfect. All cast be it supporting roles or main roles, they did their part to make this worth while. There are characters that you would be disgusted and also some surprises here and there when they happen to discover more  secrets.

Music wise i don't really remember much except some sad scenes and not forgetting the initial "15" introduction part by the main female lead (her voice is gooood) though i don't understand what she says everytime at the beginning, heh.

I wouldn't really rewatch this show as i wouldn't say it's my real favourite. (I don't really rewatch shows unless it's my REALLY REALLY favourite if you get what i mean)

But that doesn't mean it won't be your favourite since everyone has their own preference!
So please, enjoy the show and discover some secrets in the cult!

Amazing acting!!!, I completely fell in love with the drama as a whole but the storyline got me most. As my first Korean drama this type of plot shocked me and surprised me in many ways. I felt pulled into the drama and my emotions swayed with the characters.
I feel as though if I was to watch this drama again starting anew and without knowing what will happen I would still fall completely in love with it. The actors worked perfectly together and because of this the drama felt so surreal and real at the same time. This is definitely one drama I will never forget and I still do not 3 years after watching it.
Completely traumatised by the thrilling senses this drama was able to hit and should definitely be recognised by such uniqueness!!

I got invested in this drama a few days ago and finished within 3 days. It's very addicting and the plotline is written pretty well. I'm impressed by how great of an actor the father, pastor-figure, and "apostles" are. This drama ridicules and criticizes the actions of cults and I appreciate that very much. The fact that this drama portrayed an religious cult really hit home. How manipulative religion could be is clearly shown and I have come to appreciate how this drama was able to open up eyes of viewers. The casting was great. I love the female protagonist, I first saw her acting in "Moorim School" and thought she was the prettiest actress I've ever seen (which is still applicable!). The actor who played Dong Cheol needs to be praised. He is amazing and I am a bit disappointed that the heroine didn't fall for him despite all the things that he's done for her. However, this is a thriller, not a romance, so I'll give them credit for that. All in all, I recommend watching this drama but be cautious, you might find yourself cursing aloud because some scenes are so obscene that you wish to burn the whole church down haha

Disturbing

First off, great cast and very good acting. I'm a big Woo Do Hwan fan, but all the leads wete excellent, as were supporting cast.
I found the first few episodes quite disturbing and not an easy watch. I really hate bullies and those that treat physical disabilities as though that makes a person less or stupid.
S.Korea is so often portrayed as a country where those with power, position and/or money, can get away with just about anything. This drama is no different in that respect.
The friendships that are tested and the struggles to "do the right thing" are well portrayed... blood is often thicker than water, as they say.
The story got a bit far fetched at times, but the tension and feelings of threat were well written, directed and acted.
It would need a long time before I'd watch this again, mainly because of now knowing what happens.
I kind of enjoyed it, but watching was also unpleasant at times. Means it's a well made programme though.

Way Too Underrated Honestly LOL

I really can't think of flaws in this drama. It was absolutely beautiful. The plot was unique and focused on an issue no k drama had ever address before. It was fresh, had multi layered characters with various opinions, moral values and motivations. Every character had good contributions to the story and learnt from their experiences. The visuals were aesthetically pleasing and portrayed Guseonwon and Muji extraordinary well. The vibe of the countryside was realistic and grest. The dark and muted colour scheme and minimal background music truly pushed boundaries and made this drama realistic and unbetable in thsi genre. I could go on praising every small detail in this drama but I absolutely recommend it. The drama tackles societal evils and has a good pace and execution. It was based on a webtoon called "Out of The World" which also I would recommend to those who enjoy webtoons. I couldn't believe how underrated this was after I watched it and checked the recognition it got. Seo Yae Ji, Ok Taecyon and Woo Do Hwan absolutely made me obsessed with this drama with their out of the world acting. THis was my first Seo Yae Ji drama and I couldn't be more impressed. I'm looking forward to watching It's okay to not be okay.

Gripping, Visceral and Disturbing

This is one of the best dramas I've ever seen in that it truly accomplishes what it set out to do. It's disturbing, thought-provoking, incredibly intense and the most gripping drama I've probably ever seen. There are plenty of other shows I've seen where I'm invested in the characters and want to make sure nothing happens to them, but there are none where I've felt the level of visceral fear for the lead as I did in this show. Sometimes it was so painful or engrossing that it was almost painful.
This drama is dark and scary so it may not be for everyone, but it is an excellent drama. Highly recommend.

Different

In my opinion, this was very interesting and captivating. It attracts you as soon as an episode ends which is why I kept going even though it's like 4 am in the morning...and I have an online class the next day.
I kept seeing this drama online but I'm scared to watch it as I'm more into a romantic comedy or romantic thriller and this drama is mostly a psychological thriller. I also decided to watch it to take a break from all my romance dramas. I also decided to watch it as it sorta related to my courses right now, which include psychology and law enforcement. It was interesting to know as a student who wants to pursue being a police officer, I took notes on critical thinking, fairness, equality, and equity. Some of the scenes boiled my brain as the antagonist was annoying af. But, amazing at the same time as they portray their characters well.
I am also impressed with the main characters acting especially when I heard even before I began watching this drama that 'Seo Yea-ji' got traumatized or fell into depression as she needed to portray her character more in-depth..ig.
Woo-Do hwan though!! my BB!! AHAHH. I first watched him act on 'TEMPTED' with Joy from Red Velvet and his AURA is so unique. The way he can instantly turn into a villain to a shy/awkward person. Not in a criminal way but when he acts or does something secretly ...it was so fine!. His eyes are so pretty and just his existence tbh.
Of course, I can't leave my OK Taecyeon. He did a great job as well but what I love the most was the chemistry between Ok Taecyeon and Woo- Do hwan.
"Stand straight, fool." MY FAVOURITE PHRASE FROM THEM!
I wish I can have their friendship in real life haha. Especially fighting skills.
But anyway, this was an interesting drama to watch, the ending was not so bad but for me, the only problem why I do not watch a lot of thrillers with romances is because. Thrillers are mostly 1 conflict and then a conclsion. While romance and thrillers are like a rollercoaster. But I love both. I am thankful I watched this drama and also learned some lessons about life and hope.
So, thank you.

A MUST WATCH !!!

Synopsis:

Sangmi and her family move from Seoul to a small town. During their time here tragedy strikes their family. Sangmi’s mother becomes mentally ill due to this. Her father loses all hope and turns to a local religious organization for help. Slowly her parents get sucked in to a religious cult. Three years pass and her friends from high school (Sanghwan and Dongchul) unite together with others to help Sangmi and her family escape as well as expose the cult of their other dark secrets.

Review:

*100000/10* Out of the 60+ dramas I’ve watched so far this is hands down by far the best one yet. It’s quite a dark drama that deals with heavy topics like sex*al ab*se, s*icide, and violence. It’s not a typical kdrama in that it doesn’t have a romance subplot. However, I can guarantee you that this drama will keep you on edge till the last episode. From other reviews I’ve heard that the first half was pretty slow. Personally I didn’t feel this. But it definitely picks up in the 2nd half. The cast is impeccable. Everyone has amazing chemistry. And I quickly became a fan of Woo DoHwan’s and Seo Yeji’s acting. Wish there was a romance between the two. But, I like how they kept it more focused on the cult. Overall it’s a great drama that I recommend to all.

TLDR:

About a girl who’s family gets sucked in to a religious cult. Her and her friends help her escape the cult as well as reveal the other sinister secrets it hides. Rating: 1000/10 great cast only downside u might not like is the lack of a romance. The main guys are shown showing interest in her but after the time skip she only has feelings of desperation to get out of the cult rather than romance. But u can definitely feel some tension between the characters bc of romance
