The Story of Ming Lan Episode 56
Ting Ye is sent home with caning wounds, garnering him the sympathy and affections of Ming Lan. The battle between the old and new begins at the palace. Determining the birth father of the new emperor establishes how the new emperor will govern (new reforms vs old conventions). The empress, wanting the old conventions to remain intact, is using Qi Heng to set a trap.

Qi Heng Qi Heng smh. Devious bitch hope she suffer. The Emperor just realised he was in the trap after hearing what Empress Dowager said.
