The imperial court morning session is disrupted as the old faction claims the empress dowager was coerced into agreeing with the new emperor that he recognize his birth father as his Royal Father. Although the emperor wants to investigate a corrupt salt trade, the old faction is unwilling as many aristocratic families will be implicated. It was so frustrating watching qi heng being so righteous while in fact he was being used and he defended the wrong thing. Now the Emperor got to realise what scheme the E.D did. What a parasite that lives in the palace. Can't wait to see her downfall. Thank goodness Ting Ye didn't hv to attend the morning courts for a long time. Xian'er was so smart she can definitely see what was happening. Myb minglsn started to like him?? At least she was worried about him that she visited him.

Yet another villainous female

What I like about this episode is Gu Tingye coming out and saying (again) what he really wants from Ming Lan – sincerity and genuineness – after beating around the bush for so many episodes. But with the accusation that the episode ends on, with so many female "villains" in this show and casting doubt on accounts of sexual assault, it's really making me wonder whether this show's perspective is misogynistic or actually trying to uplift females. I guess the courtesan who chats with GTY seems pretty chill.
