Let me start first with this series. First, I want to highlight that P'Strong looks like Chen from EXO. LOL but seriously, the plot is okay. It started with the uke and seme met with each other, have some conflict and i feel like the character P'Pop needs to have more confidence and development. He need to be more confident in the relationship and his sexuality ( LOL ). I love P'Oat so much because he doesn't care if he is bisexual or straight. He just know that he likes P'Pop and that's so fucking cute i tell you that.

The side pairing ( Pree & Rambo ) seems to be lacking of showtime in the series because i want to know more about them and how they got back together or something but seems like not going to happen. Plus they are very R-18 couple so that's why maybe i love them ( LMAO ). Overall, the series is okay but i think can improve in heart-throbbing scene.

So I ended up watching this because it was suggested from having watched other BL's. I don't want to say that I didn't like this show, because I did but there was just something missing. For 20 episodes, which is on the longer end of shows, the story never really progressed between the two people who were meant to be the main focus. Pop was the main character and I didn't like him. I wanted to skip all the scenes with him. Oat was a lot more likeable but again, they dragged a gambling plot for almost 6 episodes. I get it! He gambles! That being said Oat was much more interesting than Pop as he at least had the "aha, I like him" moment. Pop goes the whole show with a girlfriend he clearly has zero interest in and barely tolerates his romantic interest. I do think this might be to sort of show that not all BLs should be happy endings. What the Duck(fuck) might be trying to deviate from the norm set by other BLs in which case, it did a good job. It's like nothing else.

The other characters were the saving grace of the show. Mo (Pop's gf) was probably my favorite character and her storyline was captivating as she dealt with hazing as a stewardess and her boyfriend basically blowing her off. You root for her more than anyone else.

The other BL couple was also much more interesting. It showed a dark side to BL I had not yet seen. Pree and Rambo started off very sweet and quickly turned so dark. The actors were so good that they immediately drew you in and it was again a unique take on the BL genre. It brought up important topics too, such as STDs. The motivations of these two were also worthy of exploring. Did they really love each other?

Overall it's worth watching because it sets up a pretty interesting universe of characters that you look forward to seeing expand but beware that it is not like all other popular BLs out there.

I somehow didn't get around to watching this until now. Since I've been watching WTD Final Call, I figured it was time to get caught up on the history.

For some reason, I thought this series would be kind of dorky and silly (sort of like Make It Right), so was surprised to find it a compelling drama. As for the actors, I love, love, LOOOOOOVE Strong (Oat) and was so amazed to hear that he sings the slow solo version of the theme song, at the end of the final episode (absolutely gorgeous singing voice). I do like OatPop as a couple. PreeRambo were certainly a handful of angst. I liked the actress that played Mo--a lot--but my biggest complaint here is that I couldn't buy into her being Pop's girlfriend at all. She looks like Pop's older sister by about six years, and is, frankly, way out of his league (not to mention being far more mature).

I give it an 8.0 rating.

This was definitely one of the better Thai BL series that came out in 2018 (I'm looking at you 'Cause You're My Boy). It was overall pretty enjoyable, but it did have some issues that I hope get fixed in season 2.

I enjoyed, for the most part, Pop and Oat's relationship, they were pretty cute together and seem to have a great bond. I think the actors playing them started off a bit rocky and awkward with any "romantic" scenes, but they got SO much better as the season went on, they even had some of my favorite scenes! I also really appreciate how Oat learned that sexually harassing people is awful, usually those types of things will just be brushed aside. And their kiss was just so sweet and soft!!!

The plot line with Mo could've been done a lot better than it was. She just kinda accepted certain things that happened instead of trying to really have a discussion with Pop until it was too late. I also really hate that she judged him for wearing makeup/moisturizer or whatever it was, it was a stupid thing to pick on him about.

I loved the chemistry between the actors who played Pree and Bo, even when they were arguing and crying it felt so real, that's definitely not easy to accomplish, so I commend them for that (also, their acting was just fantastic in general). I just wish that their story could've been better, because it just got downright ridiculous at times. My biggest hope for season 2 is that both characters, especially Bo, grow and get better. I really want this couple to succeed!

Disappointing But 1000% Better Than The Sequel Series

"What The Duck" had so much promise at the beginning. I was actually really interested in each of the characters stories and was also anticipating Mew coming into the show (love him so much!) First things first, this show is shot really well. More cinematically than many other television drama programs. It also has a solid cast, though I wish they would've utilized some of them more. Like my man Mild Suttinut Uengtrakul, whom I know from TharnType when he played Techno. He's got such a presence on screen and his character kinda sucked, all of the side characters felt pretty weak.

I will say also I think Pree and Rambo's storyline overall was stronger than Pop and Oat's who annoyed me after awhile. I may be biased, but Pree was my favorite character in this show. Him and his sister Mo. They had the most common sense, they were likable throughout the show and they are both so beautiful to look at XD. Mew again got me with his acting as well, he broke my heart in this series and so did Art. Those two also went all out for this show, like dang that first scene of them was...something lol I wasn't expecting it! Though their story line was kind of a letdown at the end (the godawful sequel series made sure of that) it was interesting enough throughout for me to be okay with it. However, Pop and Oat never got there for me which is a shame because they had moments. I almost turned off the show though when the Oat sexual-assault implication was revealed, thank god it wasn't true because I would've never gotten past that! I would say overall watch the show, but expect a lot of plot that's unfulfilled and not a whole ton of romance from the lead leads. You'll get that from Pree and Rambo in a few episodes but that's about it. Also beware of the shows crudeness, it's frank and doesn't really bat an eye at it!

The storyline is simple. I'll talk about the good things first:

1. The characters aren't all well-off, and they actually kind of talk about the hardships of not being born into a good family.
2. There's a girl character (the girlfriend) who isn't a bitch.
3. It's quite entertaining, although it did get to the point wherein I got so annoyed with the characters that I just got annoyed with the rest of the show.

Now I'll talk about the things I didn't enjoy:

1. Pop has a girlfriend. I'm in episode 17 now, and they still haven't broken up. Besides the fact that this is one of those annoying BL tropes, it gets so annoying because they are openly flirting when Pop knows that he has a girlfriend!!!
2. Oat is way too jealous for someone who's a friend, and the way he treats Mo, Pop's girlfriend, is so fucking annoying. Like, dude, you're the one who's flirting with somebody else's lover and you have the guts to act like this towards her? I actually did enjoy watching Oat's character up until maybe half of the series, but the way he persistently flirted with Pop just made me uncomfortable.
3. There's this episode wherein Pop was distressed that Oat may have had sex with him when he was drunk (a.k.a raped him; which was not the case), and even if Oat didn't do that, the way he acted was so alarming. He should've been honest, especially that Pop was already guarded around him because of his persistence.
4. The relationship between the other couple (Pree x Rambo) was not enjoyable. Their crying scenes were awkward. We also didn't get to see a lot of them, so I didn't really end up caring about them that much.
5. The only relationship I wished was developed more was that of Mo and Prince's. They're both good, sensible characters, so I just hoped they would have found their happiness as well!

There are still 3 episodes, though, so my views above might still change.

I'm sick and tired of most Asian LGBT series or movie ending like sh*t.
First, there is not such thing as liking someone that identifies with your same sex and not being gay.
Second, most certainly not every gay has a girlfriend/boyfriend, and most definitely not every one in the exact same period of time that they realize they like their best friend, coworker or else.
Third, you can choose to be with the person you love and have a happy ending (I know there are a few dramas that end well but it's the minority).
Fourth, you can break up with the person you are dating before you act on your desires.
Fifth, if you don't want to be with someone, or you start having feelings for someone else while in a relationship you should break up with the person you are with, you don't have to wait till that person cheats, or gives you a reason, not wanting to be in a relationship is reason enough.
Last but not least: BEING GAY IS NOT A BAD THING, IS NOT A LIFE SENTENCE, OR SOMETHING TO HATE YOURSELF FOR, IS JUST LIKE YOUR TYPE OF BLOOD, OR YOUR ZODIAC SIGN, IS JUST ANOTHER FEATURE ABOUT YOU THAT'S ALL.

I can appreciate the fact that this wasn't set in a school/college. I can.

But this is literally more immature than the school/college BLs out there.

If you want a non-School/College BL dealing with adult themes which are a hot mess, I'd recommend Friend Zone.

Sure, this has some intense bed scenes with Rambo/Pree. But their story line is cheapened by the fact that Pree is love with Pop (who is his sister's boyfriend, mind you) and Rambo is engaged to two people (Pree and his father's business partner's daughter). Also what the duck were those sound effects .... SMH. Facepalm. FML.

Pop/Oat just really annoyed me all the time. Okay so it was most Oat who annoyed me. And now whenever I see the actor I just physically recoil. I feel bad for him because he did nothing wrong. It's all Oat's fault for being such an annoying character. I genuinely could not find affection for him over the 20 episodes, which if you ask me were 20 episodes too long. And I really did give this my best try.

Usually by the end of the show I start loving/sympathizing with all the characters on the show. On this show the only characters I was rooting for were Nick & Mo. And that's because Pop is so pathetic I just could not with him anymore. And Nick was just so cute with Mo.

I just physically could not bring myself to go on to watch season 2. It was too much torture. And I really wanted to because of NewYear (HE IS SO GOOD! PEOPLE NEED TO START CASTING HIM IN MORE THINGS LIKE ASAP!!!)

have we all watched the same drama?

This is one of the best slow deep drama i've seen untill now. I try to understand y it is so underrated. It is not a classical bl, fine. i am ok with it, but obviously most are not. This is a boys' love story, not a BL.And we have to keep in mind that this was 2018. I watched many dramas but this is one of the bravest
If you want to watch it now, be selfaware what kind of show you want to see. Easy entertainment with a little bl kick or a very detailed story of to person falling deep for another

Utterly bad.

Show practically revolves around Pop cheating on his girlfriend just to be with Oat, who frankly is a very dismal alternative to his girlfriend. That alone already makes this show problematic. And the way they portray the story is as if they expect us to root for PopOat at the expense of us condoning Pop cheating on his girlfriend. The fact that PopOat have no chemistry together whatsoever makes this situation a lot worse. That couple, especially Oat, is irritating. Not even Oat's sob story is enough to make me sympathize with him.

This is perhaps the only Y series where I actually rooted for the main character's girlfriend/female love interest rather than his gay love interest. The plot and it's execution are THAT bad. Acting is subpar too.

Would've applauded the fact that, unlike most Thai Ys, it's not set anywhere near a university campus, but that would prove to be the show's only one of two saving graces. The other saving grace is the sex scene between Pent and Rambo; had that scene not been included, this series would've been absolutely good for nothing.

I started this drama because someone was saying how bad it is and omg they were right. The plot is total trash and has no real conclusion for anyone.

I did find something endearing about the idiot couple Oat and Pop. I would have dropped this if not for them. I also really super loved the side character played by Mild. He was so freaking cute I cannot.

This was also the first drama which I thought a female character that was being bitchy was so completely justified. Mo had to put up with soooo many horrible things it's perfectly believable that she'd get mad.

If you're thinking about watching this for Mew then just know that his pairing is really frustrating and he's only in maybe 2.5hrs of the drama total. He doesn't even appear until like ep7-8. It would be better just to look up gif sets on tumblr honestly, or maybe you could find a Pree/Rambo cut if you just have to see it.

I Didn't Want To Give It A Chance Because Of The Reviews

Honestly This Is A Very Watchable Series. I Didn't Think It Would Be Good Because Of The Reviews But Honestly It Was Pretty Easy To Watch. I Had To Skip Around A Bit Because There Are A Lot Of Silent Scenes That Get Really Boring And LOTS I MEAN LOTS Of Flash Backs. Other Than That I Actually Enjoyed It. However I Would Not Watch This Series Again. It Doesn't Get My Heart Pumping But The Story Of Airplanes Is Different. It's Worth Watching For That The Rest Of The Story Is Pretty Generic And Common Thai BL Story Line. I Watched Over A Hundred Boy Loves So Its Hard To Find Watchable Ones. I Really Liked The Fact That They Tried To Be A Little Different. Would Not Watch Again But Worth Watching At Least Once.
