An Epic Drama!

I'm hooked to this drama from the beginning. The production is fantastic. Amazing sound effects, wonderful cinematography, authentic costumes/makeup. Everything feels like one of those high budget productions like "The Great Wall", and other Hollywood movies. The warriors are big and fearsome, and the wuxia fighting choreography is beautiful and real.

This is a complicated drama. There are multi-facet developments. There is a lot of manipulation of the mind, rendering one questions oneself what is right and what is wrong, and for the sake of survival, is there such a line (right or wrong), is it (right and wrong) important anymore. These are the questions that keep haunting me long after I finish watching each episode.

The acting by all actors is most impressive; it is almost flawless, to say the least. Each plays his/her role convincingly. I love the seemingly naive but warm-hearted Yu Ran who wants best-friend-forever relationship with her two best friends despite she falls in love with one of them. She would go anywhere to search for them and to ensure their safety. I love the focused Ji Ye who wants to become successful and make a name for himself. He would go out all his way to achieve his dream, except, he would not betray his best friends. I love Lu Gui Chen for his love of humanity, and would not condone anyone who threatens it. His love for his two best friends has never wavered.

The settings of this drama are equally impressive, with the use of large scale human power, costumes, background props, landscape. Everything seems so realistic that you may feel you're actually standing right in front of the dry desert, or the steppes, or the palaces. Even the CGI is very well done and leaves few flaws.

The music is dark and mysterious. The drum and horn of war is menacing. The scale of the battle field is breath taking – I’ve never seen such a grand scale. Only Chinese movies/dramas can produce such grandness. The battle horses and the knights supersede any Hollywood/western productions of similar grandiose. All actors, in particular, the supporting ones, are amazingly convincing – the cunning ones are very cunning, the devious ones are very evil, the righteous ones are unbending, the upstanding ones are selfless.

Having said all these, towards the end, I find myself not crazily in love with any of the characters, including the 3 main ones. Not that they are not lovable, but I find them to be not as well developed; they have not captured my heart. In fact, I find myself loving Ying Wu Yi (aka Li Gong) more than anyone else. He is brave, upstanding, ruthless and yet fair. He does not stab anyone on the back like the others do. He is hated and feared by everyone but faithfully loved by his own men. Even Lu Gui Chen and Ji Ye respect him deeply.

The whole drama centers around warfare and politics, and at times, I feel suffocating. There is so much bloodshed, and men playing politics with others' lives on the line. The use of dark forces, zombie soldiers and scarab beetles can be frightening and yet brilliantly produced with similar vibe as in the Hollywood movie, "The Mummy". It is both dark and mind-provoking. Romance is pretty limited. I don't feel any heart wrenching love, passion and longing. Nonetheless, this is still an epic production.

My final verdict:

Despite what I have written earlier, at the end of the drama when all episodes are aired, I was asking myself, "That's it?" Who wins the final battle? What happens to all these other people? Who is now in charge of the Wings clan (Yu Ran's clan)? Is Jie Ye the leader and protector of the Tian Ju group after Asule entrusts him with the power? Does Princess Xiao Zhou really marry the mentally handicapped prince? Where is Ying Wu Yi? What happens to his daughter who is in love with Jie Ye? So many unanswered questions. There is no closure. After episode 56, I was still checking to find out if I was wrong about the number of episodes. No wonder I saw some comments online asking, "Where is episode 60?" I didn't realize it meant this until now.

Overall:

If you like warfare, politics, dark forces versus the light , this is a must watch!

With such an open ending, I'm not surprised that the production company is planning for a sequel or some sort. For me, I don't think I'm waiting for it as anxiously as I am for others. It is such a pity for this high budget production drama with all the epic scenes, quality sound effects, costumes and everything else, to end up like this, unloved.

We are back!!! 铁甲依然在 (tie jia yi ran zai).

Novoland Eagle Flag is about a time in fantasy world Novoland's history where the outlawed Tianqu warriors are revived for an epic showdown with growing evil forces of the supernatural Chenyue cult.

These are tumultous times in Novoland, where the ruling Yin Empire only has a tenuous grip on its power over its vassal kingdoms. The emperor and the ruling nobles of the various kingdoms are protected by their own armies led by skilled generals. By coalition and mutual self interest, an unstable balance of power is maintained. Internal politics and power struggles within the empire and the kingdoms complicate the plot. These sub threads are quite well written but can be ignored or followed loosely without losing track of the story-line. This inherent instability is manipulated by the Chenyue cult who preys on the superstitions, insecurities and ambitions of the ruling elite. As war breaks out when a powerful warlord seizes power, the might of the Chenyue's undead Redteeth army grows surreptitiously with the death count. This sets the stage for the return of the formidable Tianqu warriors, historical protectors of the realm until banished for killing a despot. Only the Tianqu warriors, lead by their chief suzerain with a legendary sword, had been able to suppress the Chenyue.

Our three main characters are destined to play a critical role in Tianqu's return. They are bound together by a touching friendship as they come of age during these troubled times. Asule is crown prince of the nomadic Qingyang tribe who are fierce warriors in the harsh wintry North. He is sent at young age to Eastland as a political hostage. Yuran is an orphan from the elite of the Winged Tribe who is a princess in name at the Xiatang court. Ji Ye is the unfavored elder son of a nobleman whese mother was a concubine. They were lonely children whose paths crossed in Xiatang and essentially become each others' families. Yet they are pawns in this ruthless world where their friendship is constantly tested by ambitious and powerful actors who use them to achieve their own agendas. Asule is an idealist who wants to use his power to save the world. Ji Ye wants to prove himself, he is a conqueror who wants to rule the world. Yuran doesn't care about the world or the future, she just lives in the moment for herself and her friends. The relationship between the three leads was one of the best parts of this drama and well written. They balance each other out perfectly. Asule is a gentle soul who cannot bear to kill even when it is the only way to achieve the greater good. Ji Ye has no such reservations but his ruthless ambition is checked by Asule's goodness. And Yuran is the glue that binds them together and keeps them grounded on what is truly important - their friendship and the importance living for oneself.

The cast was very strong as this big budget production spared no expense with veteran actors. Many did not like the actress Song Zuer but I thought she was the perfect Yuran, which is not a deep character, just a very vehement one. While Liu Haoran did a good job portraying Asule, the character was poorly written and waffled in the back half. Don't hold it against him that the scriptwriter turned him into a brainless incredible hulk-like killing machine whenever he is angry. And while Chen Ruoxuan overdid the petulant youth in the beginning, Ji Ye's character is a strong one that showed tremendous growth towards the end.

The script-writing which was fantastic and gripping in the first half turned into an epic disappointment in the back half. It became repetitive, deviated into half heart-ed ill fated romantic tropes and took odd and messy turns with several core characters including Asule. I realized too late that this is the same dastardly Linmon Pictures that similarly destroyed the back half of Legend of Fuyao. It is their signature gimmick of replacing the production team with Team B so that Team A gets to move onto new projects. At that point you are so invested that you end up watching the rest of it anyway. The only thing that helped Novoland is that it is backed by the substance of a real book whereas Fuyao descended into 100 pct script-writer induced train-wreck. Given the record budget, the popularity of the novel, serious hype and the veteren cast this should have been a 9 or 10, one of the best of the year. What an epic let down - despite some truly superb battle scenes and cinematography, it ended up as just an OK overall production due to the messy writing.

The ending is controversial and felt rushed. Unlike most, I believe the Eagle Flag chapter of Novoland ended where it should have. One of the biggest misconceptions of this drama is that the story is character driven. It is not. The three leads may have their own subplots but all of the plot threads converge in the final conflict between Tianqu and Chenyue. The characters are relevant only as far as their roles in the build up to an epic climatic clash between good and evil. What happens to the characters after that is not important since the story is not really about them. A sequel or season 2 seems unlikely in this context although there could be spin offs that once again touch upon some of their subsequent paths - someone who read the books will know better than I.

The princess agent the ending.

the series is interesting and has had many scenes that you get really excited. The plot and the twist are definitely real starting at episode one. I will admit that I am getting a few of the male characters mixed up but overall it is still entertaining. I am getting a teen like vibe from this series which is not awful but for me it is somewhat immature. Even though they have their own personalities and strengths the main leads are or at least appear to be teens and their personalities appear to match that as well. I somewhat feel like I’m watching a Percy Jackson or Harry Potter series. The possibility of any relational depth is almost impossible however character depth will come, I’m certain.
The series gets better as it progresses. The fight scenes were amazing as were the dialogue between the cast. The only negative thing I can say about the series so far is that it’s not fun having the main lead be a weak person. This is the second or third series that I have watched within the last few months that had the male lead written as someone who was weak or really gentle. Don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with a person being kind hearted however when you’re watching an action film where there is fighting, it kind of sucks to have the lead being someone who is almost always inferior to everyone else except when his power kicks in. He is almost always weak or faints. His fight scenes are pretty cool though. When they happen!

Positive: great acting, attire, action and scenery and Character development.
Negative: for me it’s confusing with so many side characters/clans and stories because I’m not sure who is who. If your good at following tribes and names this won’t affect you. The plot seems to get lost within all of the stories. Around episode 49 I could no longer tell what the point was. There is a cliffhanger ending, no doubt they plan to do another season but after 56 episodes, I needed closure and didn’t get it.

A Lesson In How NOT To Write Your Main Characters

Wanted to watch NEF mainly for Liu Haoran and because Xuanhuan is a genre with a lot of potential (think Douluo Continent). Evidently, NEF has a LOT going for it, from the beautiful cinematography and music, stunning location shooting, very good CGI (for most part), as well as mostly solid acting. It is obvious that so much hard work went into making the show- and this passion can be seen in moments throughout. It managed to be an intriguing and compelling show for the first 20-ish episodes…and then things went downhill, like really downhill, without ever getting better.

I have never been this frustrated after watching a C-Drama EVER - and I have never lost sleep thinking about how a show can be butchered to this extent. What starts out as a show with immense promise ends up disrespecting the very characters that made it interesting, sinking deeper into the quagmire of terribly inconsistent (and juvenile) writing and unfocused editing. A classic example of style over substance- to such an extent that the characters no longer make any sense.

This will be a long rant, although I have a headache thinking about what all can be said about this show.

I thought episodes 1 to 20 were actually setting it up to be a very interesting show. We have our male lead- the vulnerable and kindhearted Asule, who goes through several traumatic moments from the first episode itself. In spite of what he has been through, he has immense kindness in his heart- something that seems uncommon for the tumultuous world he lives in. Though he has a million internal battles to fight - such as the guilt over his childhood friend Suma’s death - he remains committed to protecting everyone. He is also sickly but has the ability to become a killing machine under certain circumstances.

We are later introduced to the other two main leads, Yu Ran and Ji Ye, also interesting characters with unique personalities of their own. After going through some life and death situations, they find themselves becoming fast friends. There are also some incredibly interesting characters such as Su and Xi (or as I call their pairing- Sushi). The unspoken love between these two characters makes for such wonderful and heartwarming (and heartbreaking) moments. However, our time with a brilliant character like Su is cruelly short. The first 20 episodes are by no means perfect and editing and unfocused writing shows up here as well. Examples of this are the multiple times we see Ji Ye being tortured. We get it- we don’t have to be shown his torture a million times to understand that he is in a pitiful state. Yu Ran and Ji Ye’s kiss and confession also kind of comes from nowhere and it’s hard to root for the romantic pairing of the two when we’re not really sure when these feelings developed into more than friendship. We saw Yu Ran making googly eyes at Ji Ye even earlier on, but from puppy love into a full love confession- all of this does not seem earned. Then we have unfortunate Asule thrown into all of this for a love triangle that could have been impactful but ends up being a joke instead.

Down the line, Asule and Yu Ran have to give in to a marriage so that they can save Ji Ye. This leads to some of the sweetest scenes in the show - Asule opening up to Yu Ran about his feelings for her and his sadness that she dislikes being married to him. We are given no time to dwell on these aspects - the aftermath of their marriage or even WHY their marriage happened in the first place - before a new romantic interest for Asule is squeezed in from nowhere.

Honestly, I liked Xiaozhou initially- she is smart and kind. However, after episode 20, she was literally EVERYWHERE! If there was a scene with Asule, she was there. If there was a scene between Asule and Yu Ran (who were married at this point), she was there. If she wasn’t on screen with the two, Yu Ran HAD to mention her somewhere and for some reason found it appropriate to tease Asule (who had revealed his feelings for Yu Ran earlier) that the princess is interested in him. This makes Yu Ran look like a totally inconsiderate person and friend- disrespectful of Asule’s feelings.

Never mind that their marriage amounts to nothing. They act like they’re not married - not even in the Capital city, where they have appearances to keep up! Yu Ran goes frolicking around and NEVER spends time with Asule. Instead, the princess is ALWAYS with him. Way to shove a character into our faces, writers! Not like you could have made it less obvious that she was going to be Asule’s love interest.

I’m not bitter that Yu Ran didn’t return Asule’s feelings (though I think if she had treated their marriage with some importance she may have come to love him). I’m bitter that Asule (our main lead might I remind everyone) had to be offered a consolation prize in the form of the princess. Is he even an important character anymore? Where is his character growth or arc?

Let me not get started on HOW MUCH SCREENTIME Xiaozhou got over all three of our leads. She was everywhere! In a ridiculous side story that was another way of forcing the pairing of Asule and Xiaozhou was when she went away on a diplomatic mission and Asule decided there was no way she could go “alone” so he had to follow her. The amount of time he spent with her on that trip and conversed with her was more than the total amount of time he had spent with his best friends- and his now wife.

After all of this it was really impossible for me to be interested in the story. To make matters worse, Asule was stabbed and ended up “dead”. However he wasn’t actually dead but had amnesia and ended up being a killing machine. Again, who “stumbled upon” him except for Xiaozhou? Of course it has to be her again ?. Because the writers couldn’t obviously make Asule love Xiaozhou without something drastic happening, they made him forget everything so that he could be totally dependent on her for everything. It was like Stockholm syndrome on screen. It was so ridiculous because it butchered his entire character and his agency and left his personality tied completely to hers. She’s not even a main character!

At this point, the only characters I ended up caring about were Asule (when he wasn’t with Xiaozhou), the Iron Emperor, Yin Wuyi and his daughter. Yu Ran and Ji Ye were also good outside of each other. Ji Ye and the princess of Li’s scenes were somehow the nicest in the latter half of the show and I thought they were better matched.

I have soooo much else to say. Yu Ran and Ji Ye’s “love” story made me feel nothing. They were more believable as friends. Asule and Xiaozhou‘s “love” story just made me feel annoyed. Apparently it was possible for him to switch off his feelings for Yu Ran immediately and then forget he was even married to her. The writers probably had amnesia themselves.

I don’t even want to comment on Su Ma’s return from the dead. Again, Asule’s grieving and torment over her death eventually amounted to nothing in the end. She’s then made into a plot device. Good lord! The last several episodes in the North had some nice scenes but were soooo long that I had no patience to watch them carefully. The show has a problem of showing us a million battle scenes. They weren’t artistic like wuxia battles but ended up repetitive and pointless. They also made the show exhausting to watch. It was like NEF was showing off how much money it had. Instead of giving us these lengthy action sequences, the show could have focused on character moments.

The ending left a lot to be desired. None of the main character arcs were even interesting anymore because princess Xiaozhou suddenly had the most screentime and the most happening for her character.

Just a thoroughly disappointing show. When I was at Ep 20 I couldn’t see why people had rated this so low, but after 15 episodes of pointless meandering in Tianqi, it became clear to me. I lost all interest after the princess character was introduced. She was this perfect, Mary Sue character there to save the male lead and to be his love interest. She became insufferable because she had to be everywhere. That’s not how you write your characters. Why does everything surrounding your main characters somehow have to be linked to a new character you introduced in episode 20? Furthermore, the disservice done to a character like Asule is a travesty.

This show had so much potential but was eventually ruined by its focus on how good it looked and how edgy it was trying to be. Even though like most Chinese dramas it lacks overt gore, it was still extremely violent and dark (I think it was trying to be like Game of Thrones). If there’s one thing I know about Chinese historical shows, they’re usually wonderfully complex and have their own uniqueness. Instead of drawing from that tradition, it tried to emulate American adult fantasy shows. Unfortunately it failed to leave any lasting impression (apart from a bad taste in my mouth). I feel so upset about the wasted potential on this show. Please get Liu Haoran better acting opportunities (like he had in Nirvana in Fire 2 and With You) where his character isn’t treated as an afterthought.

Will I recommend the show? Probably the first 20 episodes. After that, don’t hold your breath.

Waste of time

This was a waste of time...56 episodes worth of wasted time! This is one of the worst period/costume dramas I have ever watched. Excruciatingly draggy. Didn't get remotely interesting until about episode 15 then by episode 25 or so it just kept doing downhill from there. I only rooted for it and endured until the very end only because of the FL (Song Zu Er), she is one of my favorite young actresses with so much raw talent and genuine charisma. I thought maybe the ending would redeem the excruciating boring series, but nope it did not.

Storyline:
The storyline was all over the place, so chaotic. Too many tribes and characters that you can't keep up or even remember anyone's names. They threw in 2 additional tribes and sub plots 46 episodes into the series. It was a mess. The battle scenes were drawn out way too long, sometimes a battle scene will last half an entire episode! The scenes were not edited well so it did not keep the viewer engaged. For example, if a character was walking ...no other action or anything happening that adds to the dramatic effect...they're just walking...the camera follows the character just walking and walking in silence for minutes into a scene.

The ML (Asule) was supposed to embody family bond and pride in your tribe/homeland (Qingyang). But he was sent away by his Emperor father at birth, brought back to his father's tribe at 18, but he was not welcomed by his father and 4 older brothers (who fought over the throne). The father only cared about him when Asule saved him from a wolf. Then shortly after that he was sent away to a distant kingdom (Southern Huai) as a hostage prince for a peace treaty. But the remainder of the series Asule talks so lovingly about his father, his tribe, his homeland that he literally spent only a few days in...it made no sense at all.

Acting/Characters:
- FL (Yu Ran) lead was amazing as always. Yes she is type-casted to be the spunky, cute, yet enduring character type, but she always nails it. She did a great job, but she couldn't carry the entire series on her own.
- ML (Asule) was boring, no personality. This is the second series I saw him in (first was Nirvana on Fire 2 - also very boring). He is not a good enough actor to lead a series. His character was supposed to be a physically weak person w/ a big heart and strong morals. But he just came across as an annoying wimp that everyone has to rescue. It was very inconsistent - at times he goes into battles like a true marital artist, but other times even a dainty woman can shove him to the ground or he faints at the site of blood/violence, and at other times when his 'bronze blood power' gets triggered he's a psycho monster. It made no sense.
- Other ML (Ji Ye) was terrible. He was very 2-dimensional - he either looked like a dazed and confused idiot or some raging maniac.
- Support FL (Little Zou) - she was ok, but not anything memorable.
- the two main couples...Ji Ye/Yu Ran and Asule/Little Zou - zero chemistry for both couples. I didn't care if they were in scenes together or if their storylines ended up together.

So Bros before hoes lol Ah I kid.
Seriously, the only word to describe this show would be EPIC.
Because of the sheer number of episodes you feel like you've taken a long journey but because every single episode is so packed with action and intrigue, you can watch five episodes in a row and not get tired.
There's always so much happening and it's super addictive.
I seriously fell in love with Amy Chen, the way she played her character was so nuanced and her acting is top notch and her bad bitch persona just couldn’t get enough of her.
Tbh I wasn't a big fan of Yu Ran but she did grow on me. But till the end, I found her character motivations a little frustrating. Her and the Iron Warrior or whatever his name was, he was so random and the decisions he kept making just screwed everything up and I honestly to the end could not sympathize with him when I was able to sympathize even with most of the antagonists and villains.
That's the kind of show this is, you even cry for most of the villains and the supporting characters.
And of course, the highlight of the series was Asule (Turbo Liu) and Ji Ye's (Chen Ruo Xuan)  bromance and it doesn't disappoint, not to mention they're both gorgeous.
And the writing is excellent!

Movie-quality like series

I have to say, it didn't disappoint me. Also, so you know right away, this is the continuation of Tribes and Empires:Storm of Prophecy. Many people complained that the ending of Tribes and Empires left everybody hanging. I agree, but little did we all now that the following season would be Novoland:Eagle Flag. Just as with the first season, magnificent sets, beautiful surroundings, a story that doesn't drag and actors that are really easy on the eyes. A lot of action of course, so al in all, a really great series.

Great cast and production with poorly written story

I've watched this drama after many recommendations from my friend ,, she knows I like good friendship and Angsty drama so i had high hopes for it and it did start really well for few episodes ,, it was enjoyable for about ten to fifteen episodes then it became really draggy ,, the pacing was too slow
then the characters were all over the places ,, I couldn't follow the romantic story line and the main lead was so passive ,, so naive for more than half of the drama ,, it was getting annoying ,, which power he has he couldn't use and he couldn't control it till near the finale episodes
so what is the purpose of unused superpower LOL
also the friendship was great I loved it but the writer couldn't leave it alone he had to separate them in very odd way
out of no where he destroyed the romance he was building from the beginning , the two couples in this drama lost their loved ones for no reason just that their own families and sects are more important than love so why build a romance story in the first place and made us hyped about their happy ending
The plot was shattered in to so many pieces that you can't love it,, you can't like broken story
the ending was open ending so you could imagine the frustration after all that struggle to go through this drama
Over all this drama was good but not very good and not recommended for a re watch
It was a let down for me

Even though I have just completed this drama which was 1 year later after this drama was aired, I think it's still worth re-watching if you are a great fans of Games of Throne or Lord of The Rings. Initially when I started watching this drama, I have no idea and I think it linked to Novoland - Castle in the Sky but I was wrong as this story Novoland - Eagles Flag has nothing related to Novoland - Castle in the Sky. So I did some research and found out that there are few writers/authors to these Novoland series and each of them wrote different genres e.g. for Novoland - Eagles Flag, Wings of Wind and Tribes and Empires it's from the same author that is Jiang Nan. My suggestion is before you watch this drama read thru this link : https://liuhaoranintl.com/2019/05/30/an-introduction-to-novoland-eagle-flag/ to get an idea of the whole story.

I have read many reviews saying that the ending of this drama is not completed as it just ended like that hanging in the air. After reading thru the link which I have provided above then I understand why this drama ended with hanging in the air. The reason is the original story itself was not completed by the author, Jiang Nan!

Anyway I was very very very impressed by this drama in every aspect from CGI, casting, landscaping, costumes and makeup. Everything looks superb and amazing. Not even one dragging scene as each episode comes and goes with different story. I am even more impress with the acting skill by those young and inexperience lead actors and actresses, as I have know that Liu Hao Ran is only in his 20's which has not much acting experience and same goes to Song Zu Er and Chen Ruo Xuan (he also acted in Novoland - Castle in the Sky as the genius who love to solve maze). All these young actors & actresses do not played main roles in drama series at this moment and this drama is a break thru for all of them to get a better exposure and acting experience. The romance in this drama too is very unique as you will find that the lead actress - Yu Ran do not fall for the lead actor - Lv Gui Cheng @ Asule but she falls for Ji Yeh instead! It's very rare in cdramas to find lead actress does not fall for lead actor and the other supporting actor has so many ladies falling for him.

If you have watched GOT then you will find similarities of this Novoland - Eagle Flag (minus the dragons from GOT). I hope to see the author, Jiang Nan continues to write this Novoland - Eagle Flag perhaps in sequels as originally this Novoland - Eagle Flag itself has 6 volumes of books. I hope to see more on Yu Ran - Wings Tribe, Princess Xiao Zhou who as becomes the Empress for the Eastern Land Capital how her roles evolves and Ji Ye if he hands over the Tianqu chief position back to Asule as Asule has pass this position to Ji Ye before he goes back to his grassland (Northern) and finally to see if Asule goes back to the Eastern Land Capital. Just keep my fingers cross that in future I get to see the continuation or sequel to this drama or else I will just be contented with the ending of this drama in this manner.

The feels are strong along with the acting. It shows the sadness that comes with war, as well as family power struggles, and treats us to beautiful locations/sets that are awe inspiring. The actors did excellent jobs considering this story/script had so many twists, boy I can't get enough of Liu Hao Ran's smile and Li Guang Jie’s character’s (Xi Yan) devotion. This story packs a punch with it's twists & although Asule, the main character, is not your typical hero, I love him for being himself & striving to to fight against the odds.

Many facets & not focused on one thing

I started watching this because as a start for multiple series of Novoland.
Watched in on Viki.
This is 56 episodes and rightfully so. By the end of the series I am left needing more episodes because of many unanswered questions.
Who won the final battle at the end? Who’s left in charge of YuRan's clan? What happened to Yung WuYi? His daughter got lost in the story too. The princess in the capital-what became of her? Is Jie Ye leading Tian Ju?
Needing answers to this questions just showed I was invested and interested in this series. The actors perfectly portrayed their characters. They acted their role so I won’t penalize them for the outcome of this series. The writers and director I believe could have done better with ending status of each character they introduced and gave story.

This series didn’t focus on the three main leads but told story of each characters in the story that is well connected to the main characters.

Production is huge and amazing. From costumes to props, everything fits perfectly. I can just imagine the hard work put on this especially scenes done in the snow. Just the hard work for this series shown doesn’t warrant a rating of 1 by some.

I love how the relationship of the three main lead were written. There’s no childish weird assumptions on it and it was tackled like a wise adult.

I also love the lead female character that balanced the two main lead’s serious side.

I will say it is worth investing time watching. Long series like this I normally will skip episodes or fast forward but I watched all episode without doing such. I even rewatched some again.

Because of missing end story for some characters and the way ending was done you may feel disappointed but I hope the overall aspect will make up for that as it did for me. I’m hoping for a sequel. ?
Time to now watch other Novoland series.

I said a cheap production because the ending sucked. Like did they run out of money? All the episodes that didn’t mean anything could have been wiped out and a better ending could’ve been given. Overall the show was a 10 except for the last bit
I hope their giving a season two with the same cast.
Ty ran needed to work on her crying I didn’t know if it was her voice or what but her wailing got me on my nerves. I didn’t like the racial part a little bit but racism is everywhere.. I wanna know what happens after it’s like a cliff hanger.
I loved the acting (except for her crying)
It didnt have to be 56 episodes with a sucky ending.
