"Huozhe" or "To Live" takes us on a trip in China from the 1940s to the 1970s. By that time, we will see life through the eyes of Fugui and Jiazhen, husband and wife with 2 children, as well as the mother of Fugui ...
An exceptional narrative film that captures attention from beginning to end, effectively putting us there, with part of the family. The acting seems so natural that it gives the impression of being something witnessed live thanks to the help of the cinematography and positioning of the cameras.
Emotional, without being cute, honest and historically accurate, the film has a black cover covering it. In moments of sadness, it is taken a little to allow us to see happiness, in fact, life, together this family. It even has bits of humor. Small details, such background paintings that shatter the passage of time, show how much was dedicated to making this film. Characters that seem unimportant become part of the story later. Best film in terms of harmonic elements.
