I kinda waited for this, since I do watch the anime. And it is as slow paced as it's anime counterpart. Best to watch this after watching or doing something that pumps your adrenaline and need to cool down. The story itself is nice but rather plain. If that's not your cup of tea, then I suggest that you avoid this one. The premises of the age-gap romance wasn't, the main theme here. It is more like the steps you take to find your way back. The leads are great. Although I think the side characters are the ones who added the flavour in this movie. Overall, watch this if you want to see the shortened version of the anime or you just need some inspirations.

Can't say that I liked this movie. The story was okay, but it was boring. The romance wasn't so much of a romance really, as the guy was well aware of their age gap and he didn't want to fall for a minor. Also, it was obvious that the girl didn't love him because of who he was, rather, she was attracted to him because she had lost the most important thing in her life: running. So, like I said, the theme was interesting. The presentation of the theme wasn't. Nana is a so so actress for me. She doesn't show a variety of emotions and I find her tiring to watch after a while, as she is passive. But I can't say that her acting is terrible. But she was one of the reasons why this movie was not entertaining. The rest of the performances were really good, especially from the male lead. The ending was nice too.

Okay

An other japanese movie that is fast paste and skipp some things.
It's okay, i was looking for drama's with age gaps, and found this to my suprised Komatsu Nana was here agian.. Noticing her "zero emotion face" is really like ohhhh there she is again. i guess this is her thing as an actrice?

Her face when sniffing stuff is adorable xD

The rest of the cast is so so, it's okay movie to watch if you have nothing else to watch

Good inspirational....but

I liked the story of two people coming alive again to there passion. However( spoiler) would have liked o see them together in the end. Age is a number and they both saw something in each other. I feel like they would've defied the odds being together and doing their dreams, so as a fan of age gap romance and inspirational stories, I was sadly disappointed in how the budding romance turned out.i mean the story was about defying life's odds so why not social odds? It was an inspiring movie but bittersweet end .it's like they get the main thing but lack another aka their pure healthy love that should've developed into more.

17 year-old 'Akira' and her 45-year old Saviour

Here, I'm writing something like an extended synopsis to set out the scenery, the rest is on yours:

The 17 year-old runner 'Akira' has the future in her hands. But all the dreams get shattered by an injury. As a 'strong' girl, she doesn't show any weakness, no crying! But deep inside: a different story, a story of desperation and anger. She shows her anger toward classmates and friends by avoiding them. More importantly, there is an anger against herself and her situation: she spends all her free time by working her 'part-time job'. This is her addiction and self-destruction. On the other hand, we have 'Masami Kondo', Akira's manager and a divorced 45-year-old man. Story short, his life seems to be a total failure to the point that even his employees look at him pitifully.

However, Akira sees something different in her manager: A kind, attentive, mature and reliable man, some oxygen in her suffocating situation. She fells in love.

Now, it seems that everything is ready for an 'unpleasant', but fiery relationship between 17 and 45, as each side has something to gain. We already know what Akira needs, and it's not hard to see that Masami facing all kinds of life crises, can kind of experience a new youth and life in Akira.

You can watch the movie yourself, just let me say that I think this Masami Kondo guy is an angel sent to save Akira. Or better to say, Akira's eyes are strong enough to see and find her saviour, when no one else could see her real 'tomodachi'.

Maybe the movie has nothing sparkling to absorb widespread attention, but I think it's about a very real and serious problem: Many young girls in our world face similar situation, as the world is too cruel and unfair to let them follow their dreams. And I guess many times, in their desperation, like 'Akira', they start to look for some saviors. Sadly though, there are not many people and men like 'Masami Kondo'.

Healing story disguised as age gap

Want to get back to what you love, but afraid it won't be the same? In this film, both protagonists have similar struggles that push them towards each other, but thank God they have life support. The female protagonist ignores her passion for track after an accident, and the male protagonist has a creative block. That pause creates chaos, but also pushes them forward to discover what they want and need most. Watch for the natural acting, the recovery process of a former runner, and the beautiful metaphors.
