The story was not original, but it was written well enough and focused on relationships, so it kept my interest. I think what added to it was the interplay between their past lives and the current lives; making comparisons between what the relationships were like then amongst the same group of people and what they are with the present time. The one or two flaws were mainly around character development of the Director Je, her son and Ja Rak.
The acting was very well done, with special mention to the child actress who played Lee Pyung Ohn and did so with panache. There is a lot of cheese but it's good cheese and a fair amount of slapstick. The sincere moments were touching and you cried when it got emotional. The comedic parts were hilarious. What I really enjoyed was the strong female characters in this drama and in particular the lead female character who was spunky, independent, loving and smart. I also liked the character development of the male lead, which was gradual and realistic because while he had matured quite a bit by the end, there were still some of the 'fun kid' in him left which was by this stage a part of his personality.
The music was good, a mix of Korean hip hop with ballads and some orchestra. Nothing really special but complemented the drama.
What I did not like? It was a tiny bit slow towards the middle but it picked up after a bit. I did not like the character development as mentioned above with three of the secondary characters as it just did not make any logical sense.
This drama is about family, relationships, feel good, root for the under dog and hate his detractors kind of experience. If you have watched a really sad or intense drama/movie, this is a perfect picker upper, because it will charm you make you laugh and lighten the mood. Very good drama which reminded me of 'Wild Romance' and 'Protect The Boss'. I would re-watch it.

Story: Pretty much a standard workplace drama set in a hotel resort with rivalry ownership/competition as the main focus, and it kind of reminds me of Ji Hun Woo’s other drama Birth of the Rich but less dramatic. The romance could’ve been written better because for most of the drama the main character is in love with his childhood crush and towards the end he just happens to do a 180 and falls for the main female character (I prefer straightforward romances).
Acting/Cast: Now I went into this knowing what to expect from JHW just because I’ve happened to dabble in some of his other dramas (never managing to finish them due to crappy stories) so all I can say is he was serviceable but his character was just one I didn’t connect with. He also had no romantic chemistry with Nam Sang Mi, who is an actress I had never seen before but found her character extremely annoying (her fake laugh made me want to punch her at times). I found the second leads more sympathetic and more real.
Music: Fit the drama perfectly and some were catchy.
Rewatch: I don’t see why anyone would want to watch it again unless you’re a fan of the leads.
Overall, Invincible Lee Pyung Kang is standard fare and should only be watched when you really have nothing to watch.

1. It doesn't get boring, not even a bit.
I marathoned this series in two days because I couldn't stop watching. This is perhaps the only drama which gets past halfway and simply doesn't get boring.
The comedy is awesome, I kept laughing all the time and the acting is outstanding too. The chemistry between main characters is good and realistic and I just love how all unnecessary misunderstandings are kept away or really short. There is no draggy drama.
What this show lacks is a good baddie. Plotwise the performance sure is poor. I mean the story is very basic: an unforgivably arrogant rich guy is molded into a fine hardworking gentleman by your average nice girl next door. The schemes of the "bad guy" are pathetic, simply ridiculous. Even a 10 years old kid could come up with better stuff.
Yet, the comedy and romance fix it all. I think this show is a rare gem because midway is not boring, it simply isn't! Okay the ending is an ultimate that kind of ending but still, because this drama is simply way too entertaining it's easy to ignore the faults and just enjoy it while you can. Comedy simply bumps up the rewatch value.

If you only focus on the silliness...
It's not that bad but it's not that good either. The wacky chaotic energy is what makes it watchable, otherwise it had nothing else going on for it. The romance absolutely sucked so don't expect much. Was this review helpful to you?
