This one was a surprise!

Jinyoung and Park Sung Woong did an amazing job with their parts, especially Jinyoung as he played the older man in a teenager's body. There were many, many laugh out loud moments. The supporting cast was very good as well. I loved the ending, it was very cute and ultimately the movie was about family, loyalty and redemption. I scored down only due to the excessive amount of bullying (though I realize it was necessary, for the most part) and the cursing - I mean, when you translate, couldn't you use different words than curse words?!

Get ready to laugh a lot and just have a blast with this one

I had to give this a 10/10, even it wasn't technically perfect. It made me so happy watching it and I couldn't stop laughing and smiling. That, to me, deserves a 10/10. It had places where I thought they'd go in a different direction or where I wanted something else to happen, but it was great honestly. I loved the cast and I couldn't think of anyone better to play the lead than Jinyoung. This was the first thing I saw him in and he did so great I just can't imagine anyone else in the role.

If you love body swap shows, then you'll love this. It was really not what I expected in a body swap, but in a pleasantly surprising way. I just loved every moment watching this. It was one of those movies where I wish I could bring back that "first time watch" feeling every time I watch it. I hope that pumping it up won't ruin it for others though, as your expectations can change the way you view and it and I went in not expecting much.

I would say to go for watching this when you're in the mood for some comedy, great acting, and when you're just ready to have some fun. i had a blast watching this and I hope others will be able to enjoy it as well!

it goes into my all time favourite list

Ahhhh this movie is so light-hearted. I enjoyed every bit of it from start to finish. It is one of those movies where you sit back with popcorn and relax. Yes, that's it, it will release the stress with epic comedy.

This body swap isn't new but the pacing and twist of the story keep the audience engaged. Even if it had a sad scene the story, characterization and music make you laugh even harder. The bittersweet love story of the elder is just a side story, but it adds a great confusion and hilarious element to the main story. The kiss scene was one of the highlights of the movie, it was damn crazy.

Park Jin-Young had nailed his character. He acts like the boss with ease, his handsome face doesn't overpower his skill but it adds more to the comic side of the movie. He also had an overweight body, which is definitely the makeup, and whoever did that did a fantastic job. Even for a second, I can't say it's not real, the face, the body was just in perfect proportion.
Park Sung-Woo playing a teenager was over the top. The body language and shyness of teen was portrayed well.
Both the actors did excellent playing the parts of Boss and teenager. The Mother-Daughter duo was also great. they were a perfect fit for the leading ladies.

Forgotten comedic treasure

This film was a great comedy with just the right amount of violence. Absolutely loved Jang Pan Su in Kim Dong Hyun's body and his character development during the two-hour film.

The one thing I loved the most was Jang Pan Su's relationship with Oh Mi Sun while his soul was in a body of a teenage Kim Dong Hyun. Their relationship didn't come off as illegal or perverted because Mi Sun was a middle-aged woman and Pan Su was in a body of a teenager as she set clear boundaries. However, their conversations were really humorous as she talked about their kid and how he ruined her life and left while she was talking to a teenage boy.

Totally recommend.

100% Rewatch Material!

The heading's pretty on-the-nose, but you'll most likely find yourself doing just that, even if you're not the type of person to rewatch anything like me.
First off, I believe the production team wouldn't have been able to manifest their vision if it weren't for the cast of completely cohesive actors. Jung Jin Young and Park Sung Woong in particular carried the entirety of the movie, which isn't surprising considering the plot mostly revolves around their characters. Both honoured their body-swapped roles extremely well- high praise to Jin Young, who managed to impressively pull off the mannerisms and idiolects of a wealthy, middle-aged criminal corporate without making it awkward or cringey.
This may sound slightly comical, but I personally love how they chose to focus more on Pan Soo's love story (in Dong Hyun's body) for quite a large portion of the movie. Somehow, it reinforced his sincerity considering he was limited to confessing in a high-schooler's body, not caring about the heavy scrutiny by disturbed strangers who have no clue about his situation. And hey, it enabled a lotta funny scenes too, which is always a plus.
I loved Man Chul and Mi Sun; both took their roles above and beyond, with the former providing much of the comic relief of the movie and the latter perfectly demonstrating the sentimentalities of a single mother struggling to move on from her first-love.
The order of this review is completely freaked up but I really appreciated the use of Pan Soo to physically destroy Dong Hyun and Hyun Jung's bullies, shedding light on the common crisis of school bullying. It would've been better if Jin Young lost the fatsuit, however, rather than vanquishing the bullies and undergoing a 'massive' change in his appearance to earn further, romantic attention from classmates who otherwise wouldn't have batted an eye. I mean, considering the other two victims of bullying weren't exactly bullied for their appearance, Dong Hyun didn't have to be any different, especially 'cause he's the protagonist of the movie.
All in all, I rate the movie a solid 9.5- here's to a hilarious, oddly-touching and wildly entertaining body-swapping flick!

GANGSTER JINYOUNG IS HOT!!!!!! xD jeeez

I was laughing my butt off when jinyong was acting like Sung woong I didn't think it could get better until Sung woong started acting like jinyoung lol

Perfect amount of angst, comedy, action, and real depth to the story and characters.

All the actors were great ofc they're veterans but I was legit proud of Jinyoungs acting!! Because he could have just been a pretty face but he really did every emotion and both the completely different personas convincingly.

Laugh out Loud funny

This is one of the best comedies I've watched in a long time. So many scenes LOL funny. Body swap movies are hit or miss and this one knocked it out of the park with an excellent cast to boot.

A lot of the older supporting cast I have seen in other things and they were all good especially Lee Joon Hyuk as Man Chul (Pan Soo's right-hand man). Ra Mi Ran as Mi Sun was fantastic. I haven't really seen the younger cast in much but the standout however was Jung Jin Young as Dong Hyun. He was so good as the gangster in the teenagers body. I mean he just nailed the role.

I loved the scene where he slaps the bully and the bully was outdone that he was being slapped. I loved the scene where Pan Soo/Dong Hyu was trying to get back into his own body at the beginning. I loved the scene at the rich kids house and Dong Hyu was beating everyone up and I loved the last big fight scene at Mi Sun's bar it was really good action sequence. I also love that Dong Hyu was even taking real hits.

Overall I gave this a 9 but a very close 10. The reason it's not a 10 is b/c the ending was just ok. But I would def watch again and highly recommend.

don't think. just laugh.

despite watching this a few years back, this was still fairly entertaining. however, as this is my nth time watching it, my views on it has changed.

with no doubt, 'the dude in me' utilises its body swap theme in the most amusing way. in addition, it is action packed with satisfyingly kickass fight scenes. all in all, this combo of comedy and action sold itself well to the viewers.

when we talk about the plot, i preferred to not focus on it at all. the story was more heavily focused on jang pan soo yet it felt like it was used as a comical device rather than an important part of the movie. there were some 'emotional' scenes but it got played down by how hilarious the context is.

while i found it entertaining, some scenes leave me with a question mark. you'll have to truly turn off your brain to digest certain parts of the movie. as it is a body swap and one is a high school student, it takes some time to adjust. even then, jung jin young did well to portray his roles and i have no complaints for the rest of the cast.

overall, it was a no-brainer comedy that i don't mind rewatching again.

LOOKING FOR FUN ? COME HERE

This has to be one of the most enjoyable movies I've watched.
Starts off with a hilarious concept and ends the same way.
Consistent comedy accompanied by action.

The acting is above the roofs . Impeccable!
I couldn't stop laughing every 2 minutes there was something hilarious.
Even the dialogues were golden.
Movies such as these are rare.
All the things were simple, they didn't try to complex anything and the result is wonders.

Even the action was clever, pleasing to the eyes.
A must watch movie.
A gem in terms of comedy.

WONDERFUL

OMG what a movie!!! Excellent, wonderful, charming, all in a 2-hour film. Definitely worth seeing. Indeed, at first it's boring, but as soon as the real action starts, you won't tear yourself away from the screen. The story is excellent, the acting, but especially the actors, very handsome. If you're bored and want to see a movie with drama, happiness, a little crying (even if that's not really the case in this movie, but if you're very emotional, you might cry), this is the right movie. Effective, WONDERFUL!!! 10/10 worth seeing. I recommend!

Funny and Feel-good

The Dude in Me is a hoot – easily one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. If you are looking for entertainment, watch it. It is comedy gold from start to finish.

What makes it remarkable, though, is that it gives much more than just laughs. A story of love, forgiveness, and second chances, it will warm your heart and make you smile as you follow the struggles of gangster Jang Pan Soo and high school student Kim Dong Hyun, who find themselves in each other’s bodies.

The highlight of the movie are the actors, especially the two main ones. Park Sung Woong is brilliant in his portrayal of a teenager stuck in the body of a middle-aged man. However, it is Jung Jin Young who steals the show with his exceptional, and exceptionally funny, performance. He nails it! I am impressed, and I think that you will be too.

Overall, if you are in the mood for a feel-good comedy with an interesting plot, you should watch this movie. It is also great for the approaching holiday season.
