Great story (with the skip button)

Most of what I have to say about this drama has already been said, so I'll just summarize my own thoughts in a few points:
-The main couple were AWESOME! They had so much chemistry despite their age gap.
-It's definitely a slice-of-life drama. It was more realistic than other dramas in showing how messy real life and love really are.
-He Fanxing was consistent, though I got very annoyed at her naivety after a while.
-The mom started out bad, but turned good. Mad respect for her character development.
-The characters were loveable and believable. The drama managed to develop their stories without taking the focus away from our beautiful leads.
-Even though he was really annoying, I LOVED Ye Lu Ming! I really respected how he let He Fanxing go in the end, instead of trying to force her to love him or selfishly holding onto her. That was a very mature thing for him to do.

A few things I didn't like:
-The breakup dragged on FOREVER. They put us through ALL that, and they only get back together in the LAST EPISODE???? SERIOUSLY??? Typical rushed ending to a Chinese drama. When I find a Chinese drama that doesn't drag the last 5-10 episodes then rush the ending, I will probably have found the perfect drama. I would've preferred if they'd used the last three episodes to tie everything up instead of doing it in the last episode. I also felt like He Fanxing should've recognized her love for Yuan Song wayyy sooner. I started wondering if she was just stupid after a while.
-It's not that I didn't like Professor He and his girlfriend, but they came off as friends more than lovers, at least to me. It also felt a little contrived, since the whole point of the drama is the age gap between his sister and her boyfriend.

All in all, it's a worthwhile watch if you can get through the draggy bits. But doesn't that describe every Chinese drama that ever existed? I think I'll enjoy it more during a rewatch because I can skip the annoying parts haha

Liked this more than I thought I would

I haven't watched romcom type dramas in a long time because I couldn't really stand the trend of over the top comedy and honestly a lot of bad acting.

The comedy in this is still over the top to me but it wasn't horrible and still quite believable. I loved all the characters including the second male lead. He was pretty creepy for a bit but you can tell he's not a horrible person, just very misguided and selfish. This drama certainly kept me very entertained in how lighthearted and cute they kept it. My hubby who hates reading subs and never willingly agrees to watching romcoms started watching this show with me without any prompting. We both loved Cai Min Min. She is just too adorable and she showed so much character growth by the end of the show.

Culturally I can understand how FL felt so the whole story feels pretty believable. What's less believable is the amount of coincidences in the story. It was also all pretty predictable unfortunately. But for some lighthearted entertainment this really hit the spot!

First of all, props to Song Weilong and Victoria Song! They have a real 10+ years age gap, but I felt the chemistry. *hot* So much so that I wanted to skip all the epiaodes in the 2nd half that they weren't in. Lol.

But the side stories carried their iwn weight, too. I loved how this show portrayed friendships, loyalty, family values, and that life is not all black and white - there are lots of gray areas, and that it's okay.

Finally, it showed what love is like - selfish yet selfless, mindless yet mindful, all-consuming yet liberating. It is not planned, cannot be dictated, sometimes painful and always confusing - but then we wouldn't want it any other way.

A Surprisingly Well Written Story

I think I slept on this drama to be honest. I started watching out of boredom but it quickly grabbed me and gobbled me up for three whole days. If you're in your thirties, you'll probably appreciate it more, but I think most women would enjoy this drama.

The story is about a woman in a society that seems to have very strict ideas about what you should be doing and when, especially as a woman. Graduate by a certain age, achieve a certain social status, get married, have kids. Every woman in this drama is at a different age and experiencing her own customized version of the story. Our FL is 32 and has never dated, while her brother dates around constantly.

She just wants to experience love and dating, but when her heart jumps for a much younger man, things get interesting.

The ML is very swoony, though the SL is wonderful too. It's a really interesting take on family, society, and a woman's role in both, but never boiling it down to JUST that. Everybody is fun to watch. It's very slice of life, and can be serious one moment and fun the next. I was with the FL all the way (probably because I'm in her age group).

More than that, the story is well written. There are Easter eggs planted everywhere, and none go unaddressed. When the dots connect for you, they pretty much do a big bang version of it.

I would say anybody looking for something light but likeable would really enjoy this.

I like stories like this that challenge the conventional way of life. It really test the boundaries of our imagination and test the skills of the script writers too. It isn't an easy task bringing up topics such as a young man falling in love with a much older woman , afterall, not everyone is President Macron!

I think this drama helps easing the taboo of dating a much older woman. It questions our status quo of today's world where it is totally ok for men to date girls who are 10 years younger, but when it comes to women doing the same with men 10 years younger , it becomes the fault of the women.

The two protagonists did well in bringing out this drame. Would definitely recommend this drama.

great drama. will rewatch again ?

I picked up this drama entirely because of Yu Shuxin. I did not regret it at all.
However I was not as invested in He Fanxing’s relationship as the side plots…at some point I was hoping she ended up with nobody, but it’s okay I don’t hate the ending or the execution of it, I’m just glad she’s happy. The character developments were wonderful to see especially Cai Minmin’s and He Canyang’s. (somehow this drama made teacher x student relationship ENJOYABLE for me even though most of the time it would gross me out) He Canyang went from the most immature person in his family who fools around with girls, but he grows to actually love Cai Minmin and become more mature overtime, while Cai Minmin learned the healthy way to love someone and became more mature and independent from her family by the ending. I also really liked the cheating husband and unwanted pregnancy sub plot that He Fanxing’s friends have, would definitely rewatch over and over again.

Excellent writing to ruminate on relationships‼️

I like to think a little bit while I'm being entertained and a drama that fits that bill is "Find Yourself" starring the uber handsome Song Wei Long. "Find Yourself" is not high on the skinship quotient, which is a pity because the Song is absolutely gorgeous to distraction and there are plenty of closeups of his gorgeous self. He and the female lead are quite attractive together and have good chemistry. She's an older woman of 32 dating a younger man of 22 so the potential was there for some affection and flirting but they've written the female lead as too buttoned up to go for it even as her suitor proves that he loves her more than she's willing to love him. But the writing and dialogue are tops in that the various characters talk so much about love, marriage, and dating that it truly provides insights into Chinese culture and thinking that I find thought-provoking.

These folks are constantly talking with each other about relationships with their parents, boyfriends, husbands, siblings, etc. People can speak bluntly and truthfully about someone else's situation but less forthrightly about their own. The female lead He Fanxing is close to two college girlfriends and her own twin brother who lives across the hall from the family. The writers largely succeed at getting past the typical stereotypes: the mother and father eschew constantly nagging their children to go on blind dates and get married; one girlfriend is in a long term relationship but doesn't want marriage or children. The other has one child and another on the way and just wants to stay home to raise them but her husband wants her to keep earning money. And He Fanxing still wants to marry for love, not just for practical reasons, despite the unsolicited advice she gets from the other women at her office regarding choices for someone her age.

The first two thirds of the episodes are strongly dialog driven around the central relationship and it's many tributaries while the end seems to be about whether her practical side will win out over her romantic side. You can guess which side I'm on as a fan of this rom-com and its Prince Charming!

This could almost be a perfect romance for me only if the SML and FL ended up together, and since they didn't (as expected), I wasn't as blown away by this drama as I would be. I was more invested in watching the scenes between Fan Xing and Lu Ming; their banter are so funny and their bond more natural than between Fan Xing and the male lead. There were so many misunderstandings between Yuan Song and Fan Xing, mainly because of Fan Xing constantly putting her foot in her mouth. I get it that she has never been in a relationship before, but she's a grown woman; she should act more mature than the young man she's dating. It was sometimes frustrating to watch the main couple argue over silly things, and it mainly stems from them keeping secrets from each other, not a good basis for a relationship.

Despite this, there are a few things I liked about this drama: there are no overbearing mothers, evil stepmoms, or annoying sisters. Even the rivalry between some of the characters were not as intense and hateful as in some other dramas. Healthy competition for the win. I also admired the close-knit relationship of some, for example, between the three best friends who support each other in times of need, or how close Yuan Song is to his stepmom or MinMin to her uncle, or how the work colleagues will go and visit people who are ill. Fan Xing is also close to her brother Canyang, who is sometimes jealous of how their parents treat the siblings differently, but helps his sister anyway. The show's internal monologuing also provided a lot of Fan Xing's self-discovered truths, where she hopefully matures towards the end of the story.

Out of All of the Dramas I’ve Seen, This is My First Review

There’s so much to say about the drama Find Yourself that I almost don’t know where to start. Actually in the beginning, I didn’t have any intention of watching this drama at all. I didn’t like watching dramas about older women/younger men, but they completely won me over. I guess I was the target audience lol. The only reason I ended up watching this after having it marked “not interested” for two years is that because of Song Weilong, I put it on in the background while doing homework and got drawn in almost immediately. So I started it to seriously watch it soon after.

Now, onto the review. I constantly found myself laughing at all of the funny and awkward situations. I loved each character because they each had their own motivations and different path to finding themselves. I like how this drama deals with societal expectations, but also shows the viewpoint of her parents. I love how close He Fanxing and He Canyang are and they’re entire family is very heartwarming. There are also important life lessons that I’ve learned from this drama.

The beginning of the drama is probably more fun, it gets a bit more depressing later on but it ends nicely. I really, really, miss this drama. It’s one of the only dramas that I’ve seen that I feel I won’t be able to get over for a while (the other two being Someday or One Day and The Untamed). I don’t want to watch other dramas now, I really miss watching this.

I actually really enjoyed this. Although I got frustrated with the main leads once or twice, it wasn't a lot and it's still amazing. The side characters are all likable and there's a lot of LOL moments that I enjoyed. The dialogue too. It's understandable why the FL made her decisions about her relationship - especially when you get to see the reactions of people around them. Society isn't nice about certain things. It's a happy ending though. I wish the FL's brother got a better ending though, it was glossed over.

Almost had it

The first episode was awful at engaging the viewer. I had to force myself into continuing because I am a fan of Victoria's. The drama was just okay but it completely falls apart when you realize the male and female lead have no chemistry!!! It felt like a waste of time because I didn't believe they loved each other (nor did the female lead ever state explicitly why she loved the ml). Victoria had better chemistry with the 2nd male lead and that part was the most interesting. Song Weilong was pretty good and I am a fan of his now. I enjoyed the supporting cast and wanted to see their stories more.

I started this drama because of Victoria but definitely stayed for Song Wei Long. Victoria's character is really irritating in my opinion. HFX started off this strong and beautiful woman and just became somewhat of an indecisive mess. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand that the drama is about her learning to overcome these insecurities and fight for her love but the effort is kind of laking. HFX is definitely in love with YS but at the same time has little problem playing along with YLM. But more than HFX, I find YLM to be worse consider his character is really manipulative when you consider what he's doing. He stayed by HFX as a friend with alternative intentions, and while he does seem to have genuine feelings for HFX, I honestly just find this man a little creepy. YS deserved better! though HFX does make it up to him at the end so its all good.
I think this drama starts off amazing and is worth a try overall!
Victoria and Song Wei Long look very good together!
