I had planned to review this a while ago, but totally forgot about it. Anyways, the continuation of YF and HQ's story broken down into 4 mini episodes. At first these episodes were such a great treat, because we got to see and know that they are still together and are still very much in love. I loved the way that YF just seemed so happy and relaxed, a total opposite of how he was with his previous partner---letting us the viewers know that he wasn't happy before but now with HQ he has found that happiness. Likewise, HQ also seems more cheeky and playful and not at all the depressed downtrodden mess that he was before. Alas, it is all revealed to be a dream that YF is having, a subconscious need to have HQ with him in his arms and in his life. Despite this being all a dream, this only solidified to us that they are still together and that HQ has one year left of study in America. He has also traveled back and forth to be with YF so their love seems to only grow stronger the more apart they are. I had wished that at the end we could have gotten a small snippet/scene of HQ at the airport with his luggage ready to return to YF. It would have brought everything full circle.
I particularly liked that it was just the two of them in these episodes, because they didn't have that many scenes together in DB&M so that was another treat.
I wish for more from this drama, but I know that this will probably be it for HQ and YF. DB&M is a story not for many BL lovers because it is a really messy love drama that takes realistic liberties and you have to be ready to accept that people do cheat , some stay together out of "loyalty or indebted" and that often not everyone gets a happy ending or the happy ending they had hoped for.

How Depressing... :'(
Ugh, what a depressing ending. Initially, I was so elated to see that the special showed sweet moments between Yan Fei and Hai Qing as there weren't much in the original series. However, it turned out to be just a dream. Yan Fei was still waiting for Hai Qing to return by the end. :'(The dream did feel a bit too shiny to be honest. And I wasn't sure why Hai and Yan talked like they haven't talked to one another in awhile when they probably called each other everyday.
On that note, why did he go to America to study art in the first place? Couldn't he have stayed in Taiwan and continued to study art there? Is America really that great when it comes to studying art and painting? Either way, he could easily come back to Taiwan during the breaks that he must have. Yan Fei has the money for the flights.
Either way, overall, Dark Blue and Moonlight is still an excellent series and one of my favourite BL series ever! I will continue to recommend it whenever I can! It is highly underrated and deserves to be regarded in the same light as other top-rated BL series like SOTUS and Addicted!

Episide 1 I couldn't contain the smile on my face, Yan Fei was so happy to have HaiQing back and they were very much in love. Episode 2-3 the domesticness of them together had my heart so happy. You can see how much Yan Fei cares for HaiQing. Their jounary to find eachother might've not been the best but that's reality, you can't help what you feel. Ep 4 of the mini special season left me...well I won't say much else, you have to watch it to see. Though it was just the two of them, I appreciated the mention of Jimmy and Yan Fei's mom even if it didn't go into detail. All things considered; I would watch again for the fluff.
