Toxic relationships

I really don't like the male lead.
Honestly I think their relationship is abusive and toxic. He says mean things to her, treats her like trash, and then he regrets it and is sweet to her for a couple episodes... than he is back again being abusive. It's the classical abusive relationship.

I hope girls (and guys) who watch dramas like this do not think that this kind of relationship is ok, because it's not. Also the bullying is bad. The friendships depicted in this drama are completely mercenary, people will only like or do things based on what they will be able to gain from the female lead.

This whole drama was wrong for me. I like the actors, Kris Fan is one of my favorites ("where the Lost Ones Go" is one of my favorite dramas) however the characters on this drama are terrible people and bad example for youngsters. Don't treat your friendships frivolously, be kind, don't be a bully, love your significant other, respect people around you... it's not that hard.

I was honestly hoping for a light hearted drama, but I got one full of angst, chauvinistic behavior and victim blaming.

Hmm...

I wasn't expecting anything on this drama but it exceeded my expectation. The drama shared many life lessons in friendship, love and consequences of our decision. Everything that happened, is happening, will happen is your choice. You cannot condemn others for your life. There are times we don't want to choose but we must decide. Not deciding is also a choice, it gives you some time but does not help you moving at all...

The leads conveyed their characters well. I can see their anguish, joy, regret and love toward each other.

I learned that adult is just a number. Maturity does not come with age but with experience. Experience is the best teacher.

Blood is thicker than romance...Anger blocks our view as also love. I think liking someone, loving someone is for self gain. We want them to love us back, why? Because we want to fulfill our desires to be loved, to be touch, to have someone in life we can trust, but is it true love? True love does not look in what we will gain in return but is ready to sacrifice, to compromise. But we must also still have love and respect for ourself.

Ending was a bit rush. I was expecting more but it ended so fast.

But overall, the drama was entertaining, fun to watch...

I just finished watching this through iQiyi App, completed in just 4 days! I can't get enough and wished there were more episodes. I am a big fan of Kris Fan and he was so cute in this drama series!
This is different from other dramas I've watched where the main couple only got together in the end - this was the opposite of that! I like the chemistry between the two main characters. However, I felt that the ending was not complete. It was rushed and just summed up towards the end of the last episode. Again, I wish there was more.

A typical college romance entwined with table tennis competition and a crime mystery. There were some humor, cute love and frustrating female antagonizing troublemaker. The story keeps the viewer entertained, binge worthy but I would have to say that's it. It's not something I would re-watch. I was a bit disappointed with the last episode. It seemed to have lost it's momentum and wrapped up in a sweep but it's a good drama to keep you entertained. I did not like the harsh hot tempered depicted by the male lead; it didn't seem to be a charm that would keep a girl fall in love.

Before I begin this review, I will preface it by saying that I did not watch all 36 episodes of the drama. I watched 30/36 episodes on the iQiYi app before I decided to drop it (...though, to be honest, I did want to drop it earlier).

I'm not sure why there are so many positive reviews on MDL. I loved Kris Fan in Where the Lost Ones Go and decided to give this drama a go mainly because of him and also because I like table tennis (I haven't seen many dramas centred around this sport so I thought it would be interesting to watch).

Overall, I thought the relationship between the main leads Yan Xiao Xi (YXX) and Qi Jin Hao (QJH) was cute in the first few eps (eps 1-5) but it just started going downhill from there. YXX and QJH would break up every 3-4 episodes over the tiniest things and of course, you can argue that they're both new to relationships because of their inexperience, there's still a lot they need to work on together but ... they broke up because of things that would've taken a quick phone call or in-person conversation to resolve. Basic communication issues. It just wasn't realistic enough and to me, the main couple just lacked chemistry.

The side characters weren't any better. The second main lead just wasn't very likeable as a character (despite being a great table tennis player). Hou Jian Bai (HJB) was also such a weak character?! Like technically, in terms of table tennis, he was fairly strong and that's a plus for him but when it came to relationships, he was so unassertive and just let himself be pushed around by two girls.

Towards the end (I'd say ep 29 onwards?), there was just so much unnecessary drama that was shoved into the plotline. One character was killed for no good reason, there was devious scheming for no good reason, the main couple kept their distance ... again, for no good reason.

Honestly, this drama was just not well thought-out in my opinion and I'd give it a miss if you've got other more exciting dramas on your to-watch-list.

I'm unlikely to give this another go.

I just love these two main role. They were successfully display their role. Love them both, YanXiaoXi & Qi JingHao. The most impactful scene (I'm crying so much watching this scene) is when XiaoXi confessing her lies to her father, Yan Zhiyun. I'mmmmm sssooooooo upset. XiaoXi's cry make my heart ached so much.

It is true that not every mother, who's giving birth able to be the best mother. If you're having a mother who is capable to be with you thru high & low, you must appreciate it & be grateful.

But, somehow, I don't really like this kind of love relationship. JingHao did not trust XiaoXi. JingHao was seriously immature and emotional guy. He hurts XiaoXi so much. And this drama also portrayed a very low quality of friendship. Blindly trust everything what they saw and heard of. Build up a friendship just to fulfilled their own desire. However, it's the reality.

Overall, the drama was quite good. But, do learn & take the positive thing only. Heee..

I rarely cry with teen dramas because I feel like most of the problems portrayed are either exaggerated or too shallow.

BUT this one is different. The story is quite deep yet realistic, the problems each character encounters and they way they react to it make sense and quite close to how real people deal with problems, both the teens and the adults.

I especially love the acting, Kris Fan most of all. I feel all his emotions, his conflicts, his struggles with his choices, and how he is humbled when he realizes his faults.

Loved this drama and plan to rewatch soon!

Quick watch with cute romantic interactions

Cast and Acting
I really loved the cast and the acting was great from everybody. I really like the cute moments the ML and FL shared. Man I'm so in love with Kris Fu.

Plot
The drama depicted teen love and was sort of realistic. The ML has never been in love before and his struggles on how to please the girl and ask advice from his friend were all realistic. I especially loved the scene where he was practicing romantic moves to the pool chair. Haha! I hated all the break-up/make-up and felt the ML and FL broke up for really stupid reasons. Otherwise I think this drama was perfect. The drama didn't leave any plot holes but the last episode was rushed and sort of didn't make sense. It was like they wanted to give the story a happy ending and they just wrapped everything up hurriedly.

Overall
I really recommend this drama since I'm very picky when it comes to C-dramas but I really enjoyed this one but this drama is to be taken very lightheartedly and to be watched for its teen love romantic interactions. But if you hate the hate-love-relationship of the main leads then this one is not for you.

I do not usually write reviews on dramas, but THIS drama got me writing one. When searching for a drama to watch, I fell on this one, I liked the synopsis, so I decided to give it a go. Honestly, when starting this drama I did not expect it to be like this. I have watched a very few amount of sports drama and based on them I did not have high hopes for this one. But guess what? This drama stood out to me, out of all the sports drama or any other genre for that matter. The cast this an amazing job with their roles. At a certain point, I felt my blood pressure rising, at some I laughed, cried, etc
When I saw the rating for this drama, I told myself that it deserved more than that. I do not want to spoil anything for you have not yet watch it. But if you are a fan detectives stories and sports then this drama is for YOU. Most importantly, this drama addresses one of the biggest problems in a relationship, TRUST.
Beware: U might hate the ML, u might get angry at the FL and u might get tired and frustrated at some SR(support roles). But in all, u will love it. It does not have a lot of cute scenes, but I think that it has a very good lesson of life to it. If u can watch it with your partner, do so. U WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

Chasing I Don't Know

At the beginning it started really good story with secrets and mystery. The romance started quickly and I was surprise. The second lead male appeared and battle for the girl. but I could see the push and pull between the lead female and male and then it became boring with to many thing that just did not belong. Once we past halfway through the episodes and getting closer to the end the mystery became better and the evil girl really began to act. Secrets begin to be reveal. The ending 4 episodes, I thought the mystery was getting better and all the twist and turns of the drama was started to make sense. Then they left everything to the last episode and ruin the story. Cutting short the scene and leaving the last 5 minutes to finish everything. The ending was very unfulfilled. I liked the lead characters. I thought the lead female was stubborn and things always had to go her way with no bending, but she was a strong character for a female and was equal in her playing the game. The male was a bit violent and rough with his girlfriend, but did not know how to handle a girl and he was romantic in many way. The actors did a great job in their performance, is to bad the scrip was not a little better written that would have given this drama a better rating.

LI SHENG!!!

I rarely write reviews but god I can't skip this for one of the best second male lead - LI SHENG!

I know he's kinda unreasonable for loving a girl with a boyfriend, BUT he's 1000000000x better than the real boyfriend. He genuinely love and support the FL from the start until the end.

PS. I love him best when he stood up and trusted the FL even everybody accused her.

PSS. I love him best (again) because he NEVER EVER lied with the FL. Unlike someone the ML.

Oh well, sorry Qi Jing Hao but I'm with Li Sheng all the way!

Love this drama

I think this a great drama with a really good storyline. I think the person who played Bai Wei was a really good actor because she did a really good job at making me hate her. I was lowkey happy when she got stabbed because she was a fake friend/person in general and was really annoying the entire show. I am probably never going to watch another show with her again because she is so annoying in this show. Overall this is a really good drama to watch.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
