Sweet Home is a Perfect Home. A legendary drama that I will remember for the rest of my life for being perfect in story, acting, production and soundtrack. My only second-ever overall rating of 10/10, and it truly deserves it. I was literally never bored or thinking about 'what I want to eat after this?' when watching this - in which I definitely do in dramas that I'm not entirely engaged with. The story really hit home (no pun intended) with me, not like it was too relatable or anything, but relatable enough for me to experience all the emotions that producers want to feel while watching this - anticipation, goose bumps, jump scares, curiosity. I binged this so easily (Again something very rare for me to do), I was curious about 'Sweet Home' so much there were nights were I couldn't get to sleep because of it. Will there be a second season? I hope so!!

All-in-all, not only horror fans will enjoy this. It's one crazy road trip from episode 1 to episode 10, so make sure to wear a seatbelt.

Must watch

With a great Webtoon there is little to fuck up if you follow it.
The soundtrack is absolute the best thing ever and I do listen to it a lot. The characters are visible and even if they only have little to do or say one feels connected.
I felt every emotion and can't wait for a second season to see what happens even though I did read the Webtoon.
Only thing that bothered me was the relationship between Hyunso and Eunyoo but that's a personal preference because I'm way too into BL stuff x3.

Not bad but I expected better

Sweet home was a lot more than I expected, and a lot less at the same time!

I was expecting this to be a character based drama and I got a lot more action than I was expecting, and I loved it! Having said that, there were a lot of things they rushed, forgot or just decided to not talk about.
The story, while a 10/10 is nothing new, good Vs Evil, survival horror... we've seen this before. Human behavior in a fight-or-flight situation, how malicious people can be to survive = nothing new there. Cliffhangers at the end of episodes weren't even that angsty, but there is something about this drama that draws you in, gets you to want to watch the next episode!

I hope they can maintain this level for the second season

Perfect drama for binge watching

Now let me tell you something the amount of time i wanted to just watch this show and not think about anything is uncountable.I watched it in 3 days but only because of school, if it was weekend i would watch it in one day as i know myself. It got me hooked into the story, it got everything i needed for enjoyment. it didn't lack in anything but sometimes i just wanted to scream at some of the characters for being stupid. Bit aside from that i enjoyed this show and i am excited about season 2 and 3.And right now i am going to finaly sleep because that's the only thing i need right now

Hyde and Me.

Based on a popular webtoon, Sweet Home received significant attention back while it aired last year. I did not have any prior idea about the story before I dove in. Only that the red hued poster hinted intense blood shed and an MDL article that introduced several "monsters' '. The hype doesn't lie: the Green Home apartments' residents face the nightmare of their life when an epidemic-like condition that turns people into monsters strikes them. Told through the eyes of Cha Hyun-Su, a 19-year-old boy who had just moved in, the series follows the residents as they struggle to survive and hope for an escape from their bleak future. All this whilst they fight monsters and risk turning into one themselves.

☆ The plot… Well, if you are someone who is familiar with post-apocalyptic or dystopian genres, then the basic background of the drama can be hinted right from the opening scene. There's nothing novel about it and I found the progress of 'that' particular subplot partly predictable. But, it did not suck away the thrill and anticipation. There is a high chance that further revelations arise in the future, so I'll give this one the benefit of doubt.

☆ The Characters are the real highlight of the show. And the poster lied. We meet a number of characters whose backstories are intensely explored. The name of the drama 'Sweet Home' from my perspective, doesn't stand for a safe and warm place to stay. It's rather the home that the remaining survivors struggle to build by slowly growing accustomed to their rough circumstances and starting to trust in each other. The plot lacked substance, but it did not lack in the character department. No one was present just as a plot device, but the very base of the story dumbs all of them together in a rather unfavourable manner.
All the cast were spot on. Their performances were incredibly good and overwhelmingly with the right emotions. The two child actors in particular were highly convincing.

☆ The entire story takes place in an apartment complex. The drama, as a result, is cramped, dark and bloody. It created the right ambience to feel the tension whenever necessary. The first two episodes were particularly disturbing, but the feeling disappears once we get the hang of it. Another plus side of the drama was that it did not have any gratuitous violence or scenes for the sake of it.

☆ While the background music was highly addictive, I'm sure that I wouldn't have chosen Warrior by Imagine Dragons as the ultimate battle song. It sounded cool in one or two episodes, but managed to ruin the mood, particularly at the end of EP8. It was supposed to be a highly emotional experience, but all I had in mind was how somebody thought to ruin the moment with such a terrible choice of song. The soundtrack in the final three episodes was perfect though.

☆ Despite all that, I felt that there was a distinct absence of purpose in the initial episodes. There was a repetitive cycle going on for a long time until something urgent pushed the leader 'four-eyes' into taking drastic measures. It was good for a single watch, but definitely not worth going all over again for a second time. The drama stressed a lot on the characters and their struggles individually for the first half of the episodes. The leading character, Cha Hyun-Su barely speaks or appears for an extended period of time. The episodes and screen time was equally distributed for multiple characters. The latter half of the drama is when things get into motion and the story gains momentum. It's finale was explosive and intriguing enough to convince me to give the second season a try.

☆ While there were scattered minor plotholes, one in particular was glaringly obvious. It was never brought up or resolved in the end. It shouldn't have been the case, but it almost felt as if the writers knew no other way to wrap up the arc and decided to neglect it. Also, the concept behind the 'monsters' was only mentioned in passing and never got any proper explanation.

There are enough details that are yet to be explained and I hope that the second season does this. It lacked the thrill I had expected, but it was an almost satisfying watch. I loved the various characters as they fought for hope. Though I don't think I'll rewatch it, the time that I spent was definitely worth it.

A good story ruined by awful CGI and music.

I'm really annoyed because I want to give a higher rating for Sweet Home.


I struggled to get through Episodes 1-2 but after that the drama was amazingly gripping and there were no boring moments whatsoever.

Every character is memorable, interesting and well acted. My favorites were the "grandpa" Gil Seop, Ji Su, and Sang Wook.

I loved the story, characters, and the gore in the drama. But this drama had some absolutely baffling issues:

First of all, this drama was the first I've watched where I have actively disliked the soundtrack. Playing Imagine Dragons' "Warriors" MULTIPLE TIMES was an AWFUL choice. Completely broke the immersion, and the song definitely didn't fit into the drama. Imagine Dragons wasn't even the only poor choice of music in the drama. Soundtrack overall was very weak in Sweet Home.


Other big problem was the CGI effects. With some things it was fine, in most situations it was dreadful. Most of the monsters were just a big CGI mess, which was very disappointing. However as the drama got closer to the finale, I wasn't really bothered with the CGI that much.

I also wasn't a big fan of the "Let's cram as many twists and turns into the last 15 minutes as possible"- cliffhanger ending.

Such a good k-drama

This show made me feel so many different emotions. The way that I cried during season 2 during mostly the last few episodes. CRAZYYYY. During season 1 I was really enjoying it and was left on cliffhangers a lot and just had a lot of fun watching it. In season 2 I didn’t really like how they brought in so many new characters and thought it was pointless but the priest was on another level. 🤭. I would 100% recommend the show to people who like horror and suspense. Also I really liked it because I’m not into a lot of romance and when there is a lot of romance which overpowers action I don’t really enjoy watching it, so watching sweet home was really interesting because it doesn’t have romance and just has action, horror and has a good storyline. I feel like they could’ve elaborated more on his backstory even though they touched on it a bit I feel like seeing way more of his backstory in season 1 would’ve made up for not seeing him as much in season 2. I’m waiting for season 3 and hoping that their final season is better than season 2.

At first I thought that this was going to be a simple drama just about some people fighting monsters but it turned out to be so much more!

Now I can fully understand why people prefer Song Kang's performance in this drama over some of his romantic roles because damn he really did amazing. The other characters were great too. Of course, my favourite character died again because yes everytime I have a favourite character in a drama that has a high chance of them dying, they always do. 😭

The CGI monsters were scaring me so much at the beginning, it was almost unreal! Like I was legit thinking about dropping the drama somewhen along the first and second episode because the monster with the long tongue and the one with half of the head sliced off were scaring me so much. The other one that came later.. not so much, to be honest. Especially the flying eye one, it was just funny how weird that looked. 😂

My final rating is 8.5/10 but I can't wait for the second season.

you gonna burst into tears

The opening of this drama is full of suspenses. The way, this drama introduces the characters is so good that it dwells in your soul and you start liking them. despite of some annoying characters. well, without those character the show wouldn't have been good. The characters holds their own stories and how beautifully they portrait the story can aslo be seen in the drama.

As we know, choosing the right actor is the way to success of the drama/movie. I must say, not only the main leads but aslo the role of the side/supporting characters were played so excellently. each and every actor were of top notch. the acting was ace in the drama.

The story was typical with monster and human. It was all about how they gonna survive. The development of characters can be seen perfectly. In those 10 episodes of 1 hour, we experience many emotions, it gonna make you cry, scared, tensed , worry, excited and gives you chill. Plus every episode makes you to bringe watch it. I was planning to watch a episode per day but couldn't help it and end up watching it in one day!

The cinematography was intense and frightening . The graphics for the monster was also good. but they were not scary at all,alteast for me. beside this, i really enjoy the cinematography.

now, lets talk about the music. personally, I pay attention to the music too in dramas. good dramas with some good music is just my kick. This drama has really good, rocking song matching perfectly with the situation. i have seen in many dramas that they add music in almost every scene to create that effect which really annoys me. but, here it's not too much nor too less just perfect.

The ending makes you to long for more for which the season is coming soon. i hope it will be good as first one. keeping my hopes up, I will be desperately waiting for it.

I might be the late one because i usually don't watch thriller but this one caught me and made me watch more.. I never thought i will be watching this but now i'm loving it. it was best thriller for me with some simple plots. how to turn the simple plots into fantastic story, the team of this drama knows well.. thanks to the team.

small suggestion: please do not eat while watching this drama because it will make you loose your appetite. There so much blood

me myself is not a person to rewatch the drama BUT but this drama is making me feel like watching again already ^__^
