Why did it have to be PMY?

This will possibly be one of those dramas I will mostly stay neutral about. I liked the first episode for the most part, but I found the scenes with Park Min Young a little dull and lackluster.

My first complaint: I wish they had chosen a better female lead. But, at least, there's Lee So Yeon and she made a pretty good baddie in the other dramas I've watched with her. Although, I'm not sure what her role will be like in this one.

My second complaint: Does Lee Bum Soo has to spit so freaking much? It was disgusting.

And poor Jaejoong, his type of voice is not made out for Joseon. But I don't care. I will watch this drama since I made it through the first episode unlike the Japanese one where I barely made it through 10 minutes of the first episode and there was NO eyecandy to motivate me to continue on with it.

a Little Boring Start

I don't know why I don't find it interesting from the very first episode.. The Story just So So.. C'mon.. you can make it more appealing with all those great casts... T.T

Great 1st Ep

I totally see where everyone is coming from by the acting of Ssh and Jaejoong but it's not bad enough to make me stop watching. The story itself is quite engaging. Lee Bum Soo steals every scene he's in. He is just amazing! Park Min Young looks like a child in the past time period. But she does have some chemistry with SSH. Her acting is good though. So far I find this drama pretty entertaining.

For JIN's fans, not a great start...

Well i'm a huge fan of JIN, so of course i'm biased & i will compare. Indeed, 1st episode so-so when it was freaking amazing in the japanese version. They took away all its magic. (No surprises here, the best jdramas are real masterpieces)
What startled me the most was the very BAD acting, especially from SSH (that i usually like). I mean, he arrives in the past & doesn't seem too shocked (expressionless face..). I laughed so hard when he almost immediately asks "What year is it" ! Champion haha, if i end up in a weird place this wouldn't be the 1st question that comes to my mind. But maybe it's the script's fault here. Anyway, he doesn't convey any feelings, even when he's trying to save his gf (it feels fake). PMY is for now completely dull & uninteresting (maybe that will change later on). Jaejoong is ok i guess. The people don't seem too amazed at the doctor's skills but it will change i hope.
OH & what to say about the guy with the tumor?!!! I won't express my full opinion on this so as not to spoil the story for those who don't know, but big disappointment here (he's supposed to be desperate, not having a nice stroll)

They did a bad job on the scenes/ideas they took from the 1st episode of JIN. The script appears to be kind of faltering for now. But what gives me hope is that they changed the story a little. So hopefully, if they continue to change the story it won't disappoint me. Because i liked the new elements added. I mean it's useless to do the same thing since it will never be as brilliant as JIN, they understood that i think.

So i'll continue watching a little out of curiosity. Even though it's nothing compared to the original, the concept/main story itself is such a beautiful one that I can't hate Dr. Jin either.

PS: those who haven't seen JIN should really do so, provided of course they like the magic feeling of jdramas, that can be subtle or boring for some

:3

I liked the first episode, and i'm curious how the story will turn out, it was a bit confusing but still interesting and it had some really cool scenes. I hope they will make the plot more clear in the future. :3

confusing Start

I have to rate this episode low because it was all over the place! Granted, I expected the time jumps but one minute, we are in the present, then past, then an operation, then I got lost! I admit, if it was not for watching this on viki and the comments, I probably would have stopped. Seeing Lee Bum Soo (History of a Salaryman) is the reason I will watch the next episode. Eye candy alone is not enough reason for me to watch (although, does not hurt the eyes!)

Why am I laughing when it is supposed to be a serious drama?

I'm not expecting much since the cast are composed of part of halyus who can not act decently (ofcourse w/ the exception of LBS and the other girl who was in Dong Yi). So I'm just watching this out of curiosity on how will they adapt this drama and very much intrigued by the sexiness of Mr. Towel Boy and the beautiful Jeje. So far.. I'm not very hooked yet. But I'm cringing w/ Jeje's scene. His sageuk voice is unimaginable and there are a lot of short-comings on his acting!

It's still episode 1 though so I'm giving it a few more episodes before I finally drop it and I think I might stick with this coz of the laugh Jeje is giving me!

off to a good start

This is not a show for the squeamish. It is totally gross. I can say one thing...no one can say this drama started out slow. It was one thing after another.

First Dr. Jin wakes up in the middle or nowhere presumably back in time and stumbles onto a fight, gets chased, almost dies from falling off a cliff, then passes out.
We then see him in the present time operating on someone that has a fetus in his head??? Totally weird. They put the fetus in a bottle.
He then has a sweet interaction with apparent long term girlfriend Mi Na. The next day he has a fight with Mi Na over a patient that ends up dead. Mi Na is so upset as she drives away that she gets into a car accident that leaves her needing surgery wich Dr. Jin performs. (that is sketchy, because I don't think they let close family and freinds operate) Anyway, she ends up in a coma.
The whole time he is operating he hears a voice in his head that causes him problems saying he needs to go back. The patient that had the fetus in his head wakes up, romes around the hospital getting medical supplies and takes the fetus. He meats the guy on the rooftop and struggles with him then ends up jumping to catch the fetus and flies off the roof into a previous time period. All of that happens in the first 30 minutes of the show.

Dr. Jin wakes up and starts following the man that saved him from falling off the cliff and asks enough questions to figure out what year it is.
There is a bounty put out for him. The man that saved him is Lee Ha Eung. He is taking him to get the reward when they run into some thugs.I think Lee Jae Yong that I just saw on The Equator Man is playing the thug boss. Anyway, he saves the thug boss's life and the guy that was going to turn him in starts to help him. Ha Eung realizes that Dr Jin would never kill anyone and is not part of the gang that the authorities suspect him to be.
Dr Jin then sees a girl that looks like Mi Na named Young Rae. He follows her but loses her only to see her later when he finds her brother hurt in the streets.
There...now if that isn't an action packed episode, then I don't know what is.

Time Slip Dr. Jin

First of all, I'll tell you I'm a Jaejoong fan..... You can face this as a biased review, but I hope not :P

This is my second time writing it.. because I was not familiar to review episodes, so I lost the review T.T

Anyway... the drama starts with Dr. Jin in Josean Era. After walking a bit, he bumps into a war... He thinks they're shooting a movie, at least when Kyung Tak appears and starts shooting people.... he sees a guy who was trying to kill him fall beside him, and after a while he found out that the blood wasn't fake.
When Kyung Tak approaches Jin, he makes him fall and runs... After it, the plot does a flashback to the present 2012 and show us his powerful skills as a doctor and beautiful romance with his girlfriend.

I honestly loved the interaction between those two. I think Seung Hun is a great actor, and even though I don't really like MinYoung I have to admit that she performed it without flaws. It made me wish that the romance was in the present... lol

They keep showing us the kind of guy Dr. Jin is, and how he is always looking for perfection. He doesn't admit any fails, however he also shows a side of him that's a bit harsh with patients.... That's when he and his girlfriend argues and everything is turned upside down.

Somehow this reminds me of Rooftop Prince, in a sense that it had somehow a mistery to solve. Not something as huge as in RTP, but exactly the reason why he was brought to the past and what was that thing (baby?) that brought him... Or the voices that he heard before... or the man who was trying to jump or make the bottle with that thing/baby fall....

There was a confusing matter, because they showed some flashbacks and repeated them... there was a bit confusing, it didn't have a chronological order...

In a matter of minutes, the flashback ends and the Josean era starts again. Having to disguise himself not to be caught by the guards of Kyung Tak, he hides his face....
At the end of the episode, he sees a guy hurt and brings him to his house with a help of a man. Then he sees that the guy is the brother of his girlfriend of the past.... The episode finishes there, making us think of her last words "Don't worry, Jin. I'll come back".

Overall this drama seems promising... The only thing I dislike is having 24 episodes... for a drama like this, it doesn't seem that appealing since I don't get the main point of the story... I just hope it doesn't drag a lot...
