Dr child?

Story: most ludicrous gender swap. This female child was no way mistaken for anything but a silly- never really Saw her doctor... Enough said! Just bad & ludicrous.
Too many eps for a lackluster storyline. Tops 16eps. 12eps for an improved story.
Acting: FL was either perfect for role OR she needs a lighter role. Nothing serious. ML carried the drama. Rest of crew was emmmp.
Music: was pretty at times.
RE: no way.
Overall: Cv19 bound got me here. Skipped half due to ludicrous & mundanity of FL & story. Oh well, believing I’m lucky not to have encountered this child, male/female weak if I was sick,

Cute and Quirky: Love in Moonlight X Ashes of Love

Firstly really handsome ML!!! haha!! I must say he really looks better in traditional style. FL really carried this role really really well! Super cute and adorable, very different from her other roles that I've watched before (Meteor Garden and Love the way you are). The supporting roles are also really hilarious! Laughter and tears are to be expected when watching this drama!

The first 10 episodes were really fantastic.. lots of laughter and great chemistry between the cast. Had pretty high expectations for this drama and was prepared to give it a rating of at least 9. However, it does get a little draggy in the middle part which surprisingly did not cause me to drop the drama (I tend to drop dramas hehe), probably thanks to the random funny parts. But I must admit I did watch a couple of episodes half heartedly and I had to push myself to endure. And I'm glad that I did! Another thing that made my rating drop is probably like the bad guy part was a little confusing to me haha.

This story really reminded me of Love in Moonlight/Moonlight drawn by the Clouds (one of my absolute faves probably rewatched it like 3-4 times) and Ashes of Love (another one of my faves). The story line is like 75% similar to Love in Moonlight and then 25% similar to Ashes of Love but definitely less serious than ashes of love.

Most importantly.. if you're like me... you will want to know..
Second male lead syndrome? yes but not that bad hahaah probably because ML is just soooo good looking!

Watch if you love romcoms however if you're sick of the classic girl pretends to be boy then you might wanna skip this!

Dr. Cutie is cute, fluffy and romantic. Like most drama in this genre, its cliche.

The story is predictable and there's very little character development. The reveal, or gender reveal took way too many episodes, 22 to be exact.

The only redeeming factors are the short but sweet moments of the leads. Its also note worthy that yhe male lead is such an eyecandy. Drama is funny and entertaining. So it served its purpose.

Will I recommend, yes. You may end ip liking it.
Will I re watch? most likely no.

I really didn't expect I'll love this drama... Honestly, I started watching this drama to relieve my stress for the exams and tests... yes, I'm a pro-procrastinator who likes escapism... Anyways, I wasn't really expecting much from this drama, it was just there so I decided to watch it.

And WOW... I was surprised... very very surprised... it's GOOD and FUNNY... like it just slowly starts to overtake my unnecessary worries for my then-upcoming exams. Very enjoyable and would absolutely recommend this to anyone.
The story itself is an often-seen cliche especially if you read online Chinese novels, then you'll really know what I mean. But yeah, it was still fun watching it... though the drama had a lot of comedic vibe to it, there was a bit of angst, especially in the latter part of the drama... but don't worry, it's still a happy ending, they got MARRIED! YES! omg, I was so happy watching the last episode, even though I was sad it was ending, the ending was done satisfying for me, so Idk if y'all might like it but yeah...

The acting wasn't perfect and you shouldn't expect perfection, the casts aren't really comprised of well-seasoned actors I mean this is a low-budget drama (I think, I'm not sure) but yeah. The female lead's acting is still okay, though there is still room for further improvements. The male lead... ermm... his acting really pales in comparison against the female lead and other characters. But it was still bearable... Though I was expecting much more from him since he had acted in a few notable and very famous Chinese dramas like Eternal Love if I'm not wrong, albeit a small supporting character.

But yeah, overall the drama is enjoyable and is recommended to anyone who just wants to watch a light-hearted drama filled with comedic effects.

Really pleasantly surprised

I actually stopped watching this after a few minutes of episode 1 because I thought the first few minutes were too comedic and it felt a bit strange for the beginning of the drama. However, I gave it another go and actually once you get through the first half of the 1st episode it gets better and better. I didn't have high hopes but the two main characters are actually really cute together and I find the lead male quite handsome and he's good at acting too. The side characters were fun too so generally this programme is quite a lot of fun and their adorable together. I feel this drama is underrated but I would recommend it as a cute and fun historical drama.

If you are willing to wait for 2/3 of the drama to finally see the love story…

I must say, I found it quite frustrating that it took a whopping 20 episodes to finally reveal the genre of the female lead. Until then, all we saw was her being subjected to physical punishment by male characters for no apparent reason. And let's not even get started on the villains who showed up way too late in the series and acted like children. The plot was nothing short of childish, and the mother/madam/villain got away with multiple murders without any consequences. It was just ridiculous!

The female lead receiving the Imperial position at just 18 years of age was a bit far-fetched, and the physical wounds she received, such as whipping, didn't seem to reflect the severity of the situation. It was as if she got away with just a few scratches, which miraculously healed within a few hours. Many actors played their characters in an annoying, childish manner, and the music was not up to the mark.

The storyline about a guy falling for a guy who is actually a girl was stretched way too much, and it became quite nauseating after a while. I had been waiting for the female lead's genre to be revealed for so long, and it was quite disappointing to have to wait until the latter half of the series. The whole thing just felt like the scriptwriters were trying to drag the series on for as long as possible.

While the two male leads were great actors and definitely handsome, the female lead felt one-dimensional, and I'm not sure if I can solely blame the script for that. I prefer heroines who are more sassy and not doormats. Watching bullies for more than half a series was a major turn-off.

Although there were a few funny scenes that saved some episodes, overall, the series was a letdown.

After careful consideration, it's safe to say that the slow pace of the love story and the frequent occurrence of verbal and physical abuse make this drama less enjoyable for repeat viewings.

This is a nice romcom gender bender drama with a revenge plot where Tian Qi / Shen Zhao Er works as a doctor at Ji Heng’s manor to find her parents’ killer. Although it is supposed to be a romantic comedy, the revenge plot takes center stage and the leading couple’s romantic relationship developed too late in the drama to be marred with the cliché “is his fault” storyline. Although it is an entertaining drama and the leading couple had a lot of scenes together, the acting and chemistry was not the best. The romantic scenes could’ve been better but they were always cut short or angled that one could not see them kissing. The resolution of the major conflict (revenge plot for her parents’ betrayal and assassination) was not satisfying since the murderer killed himself and was not punished directly by Tian Qi/Zhao Er. Overall, the drama is nice to watch while waiting for a great one to come. Enjoy it!

I came to watch the drama because I didn't have anything else to watch. At the beginning i was interested in the plot since it contained revenge and cross dressing.

But as the drama continued I was disappointed.

The FL crossdressed and came to the general's mansion to know about the secrets of the death of her parents and avenge them.

But in the end she didn't do anything!!!
Her culprits were punished by the general for his own interest. And soon she even gave up on her revenge.

The cross dressing thing was dragged for so long as well. I was dumbfounded to see that as soon as the general knew about her gender, they instantly started dating... He didn't even know her real name!

If you have nothing to do than you can watch it. It only helps to kill time, nothing else.....

mediocre drama

The storyline so common, nothing special. The whole story also quite cheesy for me.
With mediocre act from the actor / actress, ML is handsome but he failed to bring much expression, so im not touch when he seems hurt or happy, everything looks flat. Second Male Lead looks better, but i feel he's so pity ? FL? i dont like her at all, she looks dumb and fake. I only like the soundtrack, their male costumes, props and set...
If u want easy watch drama, u can watch this, but dont expect too high....
sorry, i wont rewatch

Definitely Eye Candy

Let me be honest - not much of a story, predictable with ok characters. Found myself hoping for some romance for Granpa Sheng. I watched to the end only because Huang Jun Jie is so incredibly easy on the eyes. FL's expressions were priceless and amusing, but after a while, I almost wanted ML to find another love. She wasn't deserving in my opinion. But that Huang Jun Jie... the shirtless scenes were definitely replayed a couple of times. If you're looking for light weekend entertainment, this might be it.

I'm glad I watched this

at first, I want to drop this bec of low rating in here. I'm glad that I didn't drop and I continued watching this. I really enjoyed it and it has a beautiful ending. Highly recommended! I realized that don't always depend on the reviews, some says it's bad but when you watched it, it's really different on what you read some of the ratings. It's really a good drama.

A few spoilers included

Fluffy, feel-good comedy. Enjoyed it a lot except for the FL’s “suck-up laugh“- I found it extremely CRINGY (first time I’m ever using this term to describe anything, but it describes the feeling perfectly!) & it was in every episode :(
Her acting was fine otherwise. It is a comedy with some hilarious moments, but I didn’t come across them too often- just mild comedy. It’s also the first time I found an ending that was so fulfilling & complete in a Chinese drama. Wow. That makes the whole thing worth it to watch again! Thanks!
