True to its name, the ending is shown like that. A kind of an open-ended. Where the viewer doesn’t know whether FL stayed for good or not. The show also dragged a bit after 13th episode. And when FL goes back to seoul leaving ML behind was also not fair. I mean how can you not be in touch with a guy who you are in love with?
BUT overall the story is good. This is first Seo Kang Joon drama and he acted like a perfect introvert. Saying all the things he wants to say through his eyes and actions. PMY character was also good (straight-forwardeness character trait is not common in kdramas) their romance was too good. as if i had something warm to drink and slowly its spreading all over my body.
AND the side characters were so excellent. Im hui and jang wu stole the show. It felt as i was a part of their daily life as a family. Along with melodious OST which made me feel all their emotions.
I generally do not rewatch dramas but will definitely watch my favourite scenes again.
Recommend only you’re patient enough to feel the warmth at snail’s pace and if you’re ready to evaluate few things about life.

It definitely took me a few episodes to get into this drama. Not in love with the tragic backstories of both the FL and ML, but the casting and acting for all of the characters was fantastic! The chemistry between Min Young and Kang Joon felt palpable and I loved all of the side stories with book club members. A solid melodrama for 2020. Definitely gave me cozy feelings. I guess there was kind of a second male lead, but it really didn't feel like a big part of the story, which I liked. I enjoyed seeing Hae Won and Eun Seob's relationship develop. Also, Jae Wook in a sweet, comical role! I'm excited for his upcoming dramas as the ML.

First impression- When I first started watching this drama I was pretty alarmed at how slow paced and calm it was. The music was very chill and the setting of the drama is in a rural village so it gives a very cozy feel. So even if you aren’t interested by the first episode(which you will be!!) continue watching as the story develops slowly.

The characters- One thing I LOVED about this drama were the characters. They have enough screen time for all the characters and show’s they’re individual stories so you fell in love with everyone. The actors did an amazing job and getting you feel the emotions they were going through, I never felt so intensely for a story other than in this drama. I’ve gotta say Park Min-Young killed it, this character is so different than anything she’s played before and she did amazing. I loved her character as she was very relatable, and wasn’t a foolish, naive female lead. The male lead, Seo Kang-Joon had a very calm character, yet so much personality, you can only understand if you watch it. The male lead and second lead had amazing chemistry, the best bromance. Lee Jae Wook made me fall in love with his character yet again. He’s the best friend anyone wants to have.
The story- this story was literally beautiful, it’s sort of a sad/tragic past story but they made it in a way that, the character has more than just that. It’s about the present, and what they’re going through right now. They’re pasts are shown slowly as the characters get to know each other. Some of the stuff shown in the drama, like relationship abuse and friends breaking up, aren’t shown a lot in dramas at least how they portrayed it here. It was super relatable watching the characters stand there ground, rather than forgiving someone and moving past it.
Final thoughts- this was a good drama that you want to binge all at once, the episodes keep you on your toes wanting to know what happens next. You’ll fall in love with the characters and hurt when you see what they go through. It’s a very cozy drama that makes you feel warm inside. Though the end kept it open to interpretation, they showed all the characters story resolve.
I definitely recommend!!

When the weather is fine is nothing out of the ordinary, but it has its own charms here and there. This drama isn't for everyone, however, do try watching it if you're sick of the common romantic comedies and want something warm. This drama is relatively light for a melodrama so it can cater to some people who hate the heaviness of a full-blown melodrama.

The main attraction point of this drama comes from the backstory of the leads. Cheesy-romantic scenes are nice and all, but what really should get you hooked is how the story of each character unfolds. I'd put this drama in the "slice-of-life" genre, as it deals with day to day routines and struggles. I feel like many people could relate to this drama because of the raw and realistic features of it all. One drama that has the same vibe to this one is "a piece of your mind"; so if you liked this or liked that one, I suggest watching one or the other. Overall, this drama is a good one, and dramas like this should be more appreciated.

'Trust is a glass, once broken it can be mended but you'll always see the cracks'

When the weather is fine, I'll find you when the weather is nice or I'll find you on a beautiful day I honestly don't know why there are 70 names for this drama but it amuses me.
The drama takes place in a small countryside town surrounded by people who were hurt and trail through forgiveness and healing. Led by the fantastic Park Min Young, which I honestly praise for such a heartfelt performance. I couldn't think of anyone better to pull this off. I would say the storyline is beautiful. I know it was based on a book and that's why they made everything as detailed as possible. It's my first time watching Seo Kang Joon and he left quite an impression on me, it was an amazing performance.

For the characters, I was put off for the first few episodes dues to the lack of character insight and development, I almost ended up dropping the series, but I did continue and it got so much more beautiful. I loved the way they worked through relationships with different people and the main characters Mok Hae Won and Lim Eun Seob (played by Park Min Young and Seo Kang Joon respectively) had so much difference in the way they were raised. But they didn't allow that to affect the way they loved each other and for me, that was such a good way of reaching out to their audience. I would say some characters such as Bo Yeong would have had more work and insight given to her. She would show up in an episode and be back 4 episodes later to add something huge to the ongoing storyline without any background build-up. If they would have given her more to show, her scenes would have had more impact.

Overall, it's a really good series, cinematography that was nice, and I really liked the angles the scenes were shot as well as the scenery with the sets that genuinely embodied their personalities. it made it way more worthwhile, although the scores and OST would have had higher quality but it was good none the less. it's one of the few that made me tear and then smile 0.5 seconds later. A lot of good performances to be made including Lee Jae Wook who explored this genre so beautifully I honestly can't wait to see him in more content. if you're looking for lessons and a heartwarming drama this is definitely it. Watch It!!

This isn't gonna be everyone's cup of tea but it was mine.
I started watching this drama with no expectations. I was kind of leaning into it because the plot seems simple enough. Everything that is being showed are all heavy drama, actions and thrillers. I needed a show that would calm me. I felt tired of watching dramas that are painful to the heart every episode, in short I needed a break. This show is like a breath of fresh air. It's a perfect mix of romance, comedy and drama. I couldn't have asked for anything else.

I loved how slow-paced it is, it isn't that slow-paced for me as I've watched other shows that felt very slow that I completely dropped it midway (bad habit I know). By being in this pace, the show perfectly depicted the emotions.

I loved all the characters & actings. I have watched the lead characters' and second leads' in other dramas before. So I trust that they would be able to deliver. They did deliver. I was able to see a different side of each and everyone of them. ALSO FOR EVERYONE WHO'S RATING THIS SHOW LOW JUST BECAUSE PARK MIN YOUNG ISN'T WITH PARK SEO JOON, WATCH THE OTHER DRAMAS THEY HAVE TOGETHER. DON'T BE BIAS IN YOUR JUDGEMENTS BECAUSE OF IT.
Everyone has different chemistry and I think everything was portrayed as it should be.

Maybe I loved this show bc I was able to relate to it in many ways. It hit me different. The setting was perfect. The plot was realistic and thought through.

I felt that the sound tracks were a bit lacking though. I just didn't felt it much. I wasn't touched enough to listen to it again.

Overall, I loved it. I would recommend it if you want some break, it isn't 100% feel-good though. It was refreshing for me. It was warm. I think I'll remember this show. And I would definitely rewatch it again.

Settle in for a cozy, comforting winter's thaw into spring

Prepare to sink slowly into the gentle snowdrift that is this show, the gentle coming together of the OTP, and crazy good and heartwarming of the entire cast. It's slower-moving, but I loved it for the stunning cinematography, the music, the quietness - and the book club! It sometimes uses the stories they discuss as a plot device, too. Some surprise twists, and Hae-won's aunt and Eun-soeb's little sister both steal practically every scene they're in. It tackles serious and dark issues but also makes space for vulnerability and care with gentle humor and steadfastness. The changing of the season from winter into spring is a subtle allegory for the transformation of many characters in this show and is done very well.

The use of sound (including silence) in this drama is outstanding - it's almost like its own character, such is its presence. The best OST hands-down of any drama I've ever watched.

This has been classed as a "healing drama" and while I can't say I experienced that, I definitely found myself more emotionally involved than I expected. I would love to read the book if its ever translated.

I loved this drama so much I didn't want it to end. This drama is underrated on my drama list but not on Viki. Yes, the drama pace is measured but it just fits perfectly with what it intends to show to the viewers. The acting is spot on to show this. I also love how the different love stories developed.. I especially liked Park Min Young's acting in this drama. Their book club also has the best people ? The story was not exaggerated. The plot twists were also placed amazingly in the series. The story just normally flowed. The ML has just made a benchmark in his career. I have seen him in other dramas but this was outstanding.

You don't easily find characters as well-written as what this drama offers

JTBC did it again. When the Weather Is Fine is one of those dramas that doesn't get to be appreciated as much as they should be. Some viewers may find it a little too slow-paced, but that shouldn't be a problem. I cannot really say that this is the best drama out there, but I can confidently say you'll never find main lead characters (and even all the support roles) as wonderfully crafted as Mok Hae Won and Lim Eun Seop. It also includes personalities of all age groups, all being given just the right amount of attention they deserve. This, I really have to applaud. Characters are painfully honest, not exactly to each other as most of the plot's problem's are centered in keeping pain to themselves, but they have a strong sense of who they are. This also doesn't necessarily mean they don't allow space for growth, in fact, it's the opposite. The creators of this drama really went out there and decided to focus mostly on character growth without even trying to make them likable. That alone is honestly enough for me. A drama that respects its characters is a good drama.

What makes When the Weather Is Fine special to me is that it steers off from the usual tropes general k-dramas like to explore. Mok Hae Won, as a main lead, does not fall victim to the typical constraint of how mains should be kind and forgiving, or that the entire story revolves around them, or how their actions greatly affect the course of a story. In fact, Mok Hae Won is more often treated like a support, constantly being the last to discover painful truths whilst being self-centered in her own way. Lim Eun Seop is characterized, as a student, that isn't generally good at talking with people, finding more comfort in books instead of participating in mundane conversations. He was given the "loner" stereotype, but as an adult, he becomes an organizer of a book club and is always present at high school mini-reunions. What's even more amazing is that they didn't change the shy-type personality of Eun Seop at all, showing neglect to the more known and exploited negative effects of the stereotype. The drama doesn't get uncomfortably cheesy but it doesn't overlook romance either. It's not even restricted to the leads, either. About three or four love lines are splashed here and there, all of which are generally enjoyable in their own way.

On the darker side of the spectrum, this drama deals with domestic abuse, loss, isolation, suicide attempts, and crime. These topics are thrown into the bag without warning and is left there to unfold in its own way. The ambiance the drama generally sets is cold but is open to any warmth that might come in, just as how winter welcomes the arrival of spring. It is remarkable how the change in seasons is told in parallel to the change and transformation of its characters. Despite dealing with heavy topics, each episode does not fail to incorporate the feeling of lightness, all shown in the simplicity of living away from the busy streets of the city and finding happiness in the simpler things in life. We get to see how getting a little closer to nature brings us a little bit closer to ourselves, away from many distractions but allowing us more opportunities to deal with our inner turmoils.

When the Weather Is Fine is a wonderful story that deals with how one plucks up the courage to open up the things that have always been closed. Staying true to the unpredictability of life, it depicts the past as something you can't run away from, but something you can definitely overcome. It shows the murkiness of honesty and family, may they be blood-related or not. Overall, it's a vibrant presentation of healing, of how we, as humans, can only find the strength to move forward in our own pace, and always more so when the weather is fine.

I have just created an account because of this drama , it really deserves it
Such a lovely and slow-paced drama , I loved the acting of both main leaders , the soundtrack was so calm and relaxing . The love he had for her was so pure and innocent. The story was excellent , it really makes you to feel like "then what will happen..."

It brought up so many topics like why good things doesn't last forever and how to deal with these kind of things that we will get through in our lives . It was really heart-warming .
The acting of the support cast was awesome , they really give that friendly , natural and energetic vibe . I can't deny that their little stories were really entertaining and lovely.

I love almost every moment of the drama , it got a little slowly in the 3 or 4 episode but then it begin to flow , things came out to know .
The ending was ok I didn't feel like there was something missing , although I can't hide that I would like a second season

I really took my time to watch this drama and completed it in the span of a month...I really enjoyed the plot, the story, and the calmness throughout. This drama moved me to tears in multiple parts but also made me rolling around laughing at the pure wholesome and adorable moments. The casting did a wonderful job and I cannot think of a better lineup for this drama. This drama became my go-to bedtime drama that I would watch till I felt sleepy. I loved the setting, how it's so based off of the present yet so suburban and delicate. All in all, I highly recommend this drama to those who haven't watched it yet or are considering :)

If you are hesitating whether to watch this drama because you are not into melos... You don't have to hesitate to watch this drama. Even though this is a melodrama you will not get bored through the entire story.

The story line is interesting, the cast and acting of the characters are good too. Although I was not very much caught into the music in this drama the music is also good. You can enjoy the village side melo-love story through this drama. It's warm and refreshing. Those who want to get a little taste of village side calm, pure and warm story, this drama will do.

I personally like Moon Jung Hee (as Shim Myung Yeo) character alot. I liked every scene she is in. This is my first time watching Moon Jung Hee's drama and i loved her character and acting in this drama. All the main leads got good amount of scenes and time slots in the drams except for Im Se Mi. If you are watching the drama because of Im Se Mi, please don't get disappointed, as she did not get to act in many scenes.

I don't know if my review is useful or helpful or at-least reasonable. But if you are able to decide whether to watch the drama or not, based on reading my review, i am glad that it helped you to decide.
Thank you for sparing your time to go through my review.... :)
